It's really unfair to compare 2 different teams in such different leagues but Celtics away record in The Champions League is better than your away record in Div 3........DH

£800,575.88 goes to Celtic for that win tonight. Green, will be Green......with envy! Get it up you Charlie boy!

Briggs

Believable28 Unbelievable5

I honestly doubt Charles Green will give a Fleck....

TTG

Agree4 Disagree17

@1 are you sure about that?... Maybe this might jog your memory....

RANGERS owner Charles Green last night insisted the Ibrox club would be in a stronger financial position than Celtic in a year.

The battered and bruised club began life as a newco with an edgy extra-time 2-1 Ramsdens Cup win at Brechin but the new chief executive was bullish about the club's future and claimed within 12 months their balance sheet would be stronger than the SPL champions.

Green said: If you look at the balance sheets at the end of next season you should see the strength of the two companies.

We are in the Third Division and Celtic are in the SPL and what I'd like you to do is promise me at the end of this season, when all the games are played, examine the balance sheets of the clubs and tell me which one is the strongest?

Then let's see who has got the strongest balance sheet.

We've not got the debt that any of these clubs have and on the last day of the season I would really enjoy some clever financial analyst looking at the balance sheets and debt-to-equity ratio of every club in Scotland.ť

Briggs

Agree17 Disagree4

So green dosn't want his money back. .H.

Agree6 Disagree1

I highly doubt Green is goin to be sitting in his luxury gaff beelin' because Celtic have made a bit of money. It's not as if he's missed out on it, if both Rangers and Celtic were competing in the Champ League last night and Rangers lost then yes, Mr Green would be beelin, but it's not the case.

TTG

Agree3 Disagree7

@TTG his club are not in the spl so why did he come out with that statement then? The guy is a clown and everything he has said so far is BS and if you are honest you will admit he is only blowing smoke up your ass!

Briggs

Agree11 Disagree2

You guys get your first away win in champions league/cup since 1986 (congratulations by the way) and all you want to do is talk about Charles Green - get a grip - your team is doing pretty well so spend some time enjoying it and stop obsessing with us - you will feel better for it .....,

Agree8 Disagree5

Green is alluding to the balance sheet which lists his valuation of the assets. Not the Profit and Loss account which shows the trading value of the business.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Oct 2012 23:22:17
Greens assets appear to be worth a vast total of £5.5million, are they not? and the players arent going to be attracting million pound bids. Celtic have the Champions League revenue which is estimated at a minimum of £15 million before a ball is kicked, throw in £400k for a draw and £800k a win plus £35 gate receipts and I doubt Green will be able to back up his claim come May.

Dont buy into this man, yes he has put a team on the field at Ibrox for you to support but he is telling you all exactly what you want to here

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Oct 2012 19:40:46
No point n beatin round the bush bears, well done to Celtic tonight. However, if I were a Spartak fan I'd be questioning the manager's decision to play McGeady. McGeady certainly wasn't playing for Spartak, that's for sure.

It pains me to say this but I think Celtic have a great chance of progressing to the last 16. I don't know whether that's a good thing or a bad thing for us:S.

TTG

Believable22 Unbelievable23

Agree19 Disagree3

02 Oct 2012 20:58:02
Utter nonsense. When Aiden played for us he had quite a few off days . He had another one tonight. Dont class him as a Motherwell player. kl

Agree12 Disagree3

Nah he was a celtic player but now plays for them. They aren't on a great run just more think it's something like 3 wins in 12? Come Nov/Dec when the return leg at Parkhead it might be a different game altogether.

I think we will get 3rd spot as the draw at home will bite us I think all that matters is were bring in money. It's took celtic this long to build a good team rangers could do the same giving the money and scouting? I do believe sadly that green will bolt after the ebt thing comes round as the sale of the club will be questioned etc

I wish rangers well however if the fans follow with the boycott then so be it but old habits die hard

Lenny

Agree7 Disagree2

02 Oct 2012 21:06:00
Got to give them credit where it's due. Great result tonight for Celtic - still a long way to go, but they have given themselves a real chance of going further and got the monkey off their back.

Agree15 Disagree7

02 Oct 2012 21:06:16
McGeady was played out of position through the centre by his manager. Well done on a great display Celtic would have done, but thanks anyway.

Agree9 Disagree2

02 Oct 2012 22:01:34
Of course it's good, how can it not be? McGeady didn't try? Haw, listen, Celtic towed Spartak and deserved their win!

Have the good grace to acknowledge it! This will dispel any notions you have that your wee hee haw team could live with Celtic!

Miko x

Agree14 Disagree4

@ 3),

What's Motherwell got to do with it?

For years now Motherwell have been accused of lying down to Rangers every time Rangers have beat them yet at the same time, when Celtic beat them it's because Celtic were simply the better team. Are Celtic the only team that's capable of beating Motherwell or something?

TTG

Agree6 Disagree7

While seeing Celtic progress might be a pain for some, look on the positive. For Years Celtic and Rangers have been fighting which kept our coefficient reasonable. Now it's down to one team. We need European points to stop us having to play extra games just to qualify (Champions League name is bull anyway. If it was then ALL league Champions would automatically qualify). Thats why England, Italy Spain etc. get 3/4 teams into the CL

Agree8 Disagree0

@ 9),

Totally agree mate. The whole Champions League set-up is a farce and needs to be changed. I'd drop the whole seeding crap and instead of group stages just have the teams go at it in a knock-out system. The European cup wouldn't be short on surprises then, that's for sure.

TTG

Agree7 Disagree1

I think it's unfair complaining about McGeady's contribution against Celtic.
I think he played as normal.
I was delighted when he left - and for £9.5m. What a but of business that was!
I am more concerned that he wants to come back!!"

Take care, Good Bears,

Agree14 Disagree2

Do yous ever get tiered of being wrong? And you say Mcgeady wasn't playing, own goal bla bla, but no mention how Celtic had 2 penalties no called, cards for no reason, dodgy offside call, once again a Celtic had to beat a club and the refs for it seems like an old firm game where it hurt the red to make calls against Moscow and 3mins to give a red card. How about you tell both sides of the story and not the one you want to hear. How sad how you just can't say well done but just say dumb things, does that remind you of anything? Campbell Ogilvie breaking cover on the day the final tax bill came out as agreed by D&P for £94.4m. Obviously a deflect the interest tactic.
Ogilvie mixing Charles Green's statement regarding premeditated title stripping with Scotland squad stuff to distract.
Ogilvie states SFA did not try a title stripping deal.
Ogilvie cannot function as SFA president because of his hopeless position as an EBT taker. He needs to go. If he can't do the job he shouldn't be there. Hopelessly conflicted.
No ex players or directors rubbing their gums on EBTs now with the public shocked by the £94.4m figure.

Believable10 Unbelievable6

So what! He received an EBT. What is the big deal. There was nothing wrong with EBT's at the time he received it. Stop whingin', yees are like a broken record!!

TTG

Agree10 Disagree12

Yeah mate D&P released the figure at after 5:40hrs deliberately so big Raman couldn't report it on STV at 6pm, too late. And BBC missed it also at 6pm but it got a small showing later. Also Ogilvie deflecting with different stories and never once mentioned £94m. Doesn't say a word on camera throughout the rangers issue then times it for big figure tax day.

Mike mulraney (alloa chairman) in todays paper havin a cheeky pop at McCoist saying he should seek guidance from hartley on how to win the 3rd division. Same guy who spoke negatively about the club to stv when the trouble began... "Sporting intergrity" and blah-de-blah. Licking his lips at the prospect of the financial gain of playing Rangers at Ibrox. Rangers should give this game to fans free so he can count his half of hee haw!

Believable16 Unbelievable20

Come on mate, McCoists an easy target for criticism; from his management tactics through to his daft diatribes. He's still saying its the same rangers, the same club, when even the BBC and STV are saying the CVA to save the club failed and Green started a new club and entered div3.
Who's taking whom for mugs?
No one can stomach 'it's the same club' patter anymore after that £94.4m shock.

Agree11 Disagree6

Motherwell game was just about free too £1 to get in but yet £14 for a program? Good way to 'share' gate money.

Will give you another cracker... Had a phone call the other day from guess who... RANGERS asking me if I wanted a season ticket? Once I told them I was a celtic fan they still asked me? 3rd person its happened too.

There maybe trouble a head....

*ps no joke though someone was at the wynd up at first but was the ticket office trying to sell a celtic fan a season ticket? It's happened to a few people I know who stay within 5miles of ibrox... Strange but true

Next draw of League Cup, if Rangers get drawn away against ANY Sphell team the Rangers support will NOT attend, as much as this goes against the grain we have to show these teams and so called supporters averaging less than 5k a game that The best support in the world the mighty Rangers will no longer subsidise their so called club after all the bad mouthing we have encountered from them and their chairman.

Believable23 Unbelievable13

No way will i set foot in tannadice especially! and its the easiest ground for me to get to as im in bonnie dundee, its a difficult one cause obviously we want to cheer the boys on but at thhe same time dont want to give these cowboy chairmen who thot they had a wee european run to subsidise rangers not being in the spl any of our money.. well at the end of the day thats what it was a WEE euro run lol

Since it was HMRC that caused all the problems I suggest you stop paying your taxes. {Ed039's Note - If only)

Agree9 Disagree7

As far as I'm aware the breakdown of League Cup monies per game are as follows, 15% to the home team (presumably to cover expense, policing etc) then a straight 50-50 split of what's left. Delude yourselves all you want but with a 29,413 gate, didn't you in essence give Motherwell half of 25,000 folks money only last week? Do you lot put any thought into anything you do?

Op remember we get 42.5% of the gate doesnt matter if it is a home tie or away tie, that is revenue that we need at this time therefore we are shooting ourselves in the foot with any boycotts of away cup games
even a 100k from an away tie would pay a few wages for us right now

JG

Agree5 Disagree1

Rangers are to blame for where they find themselves, not the SPL Chairmen. Why should the Newco have got direct entry into the SPL.

And I think you'll find that the majority of Rangers supporters voted for SFL3, so you got what your support wanted.

@1. Support your local team and maybe Scottish football would never have been in the position of relying on two teams.

Whatever happened to good sportsmanship ?
I am a Celtic fan and to be honest I wouldnt give a damn if the Rangers fans never entered Parkhead again

Agree5 Disagree4

To No 10 I am disgusted with both the old firm with away support pricing it costs me and I take my son £84.00 to get in 14.00 for the supporters bus which is value forget having a pint and that is a minimum of £98.00 this pricing policy is ludicrous there were gaps all over septic park at the last game and both sets of fans are being ripped off. Never mind D UTd and ABerdeen increasing prices for the old firm where is the SPORTING INTEGRITY in that ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Number 9,

If you stay in a certain city/ town for work reasons etc, should you change clubs every time you move? When I was in the army should it have been compulsory for me to follow whichever team played at my posting? Think about it.

Agree1 Disagree1

Boycotts seldom achieve their aims so I'll support my team if drawn against an SPL team. Why put Rangers at a disadvantage on the field of play by not supporting them?

Anyway, Rangers via Charles Green are about to pay money to David Murray who landed us in this trouble in the first place and I don't hear many complaints about that.

Hi all what do think of a single organisation responsible for Scottish Football AT all levels and that all clubs can vote and have there say on the (ruling council) each year before the season starters or at the end of the season.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

I agree that one ruling body should take charge of all levels with a ruling council but voting every year would be time consuming and costly, each council should be given 4 years to impliment policys like in government.

Agree7 Disagree1

Won't work 'cos the corrupt SFA,SPL won't give up their power, anyway they're too busy chasing after our titles.

Agree9 Disagree7

Yeah cause neither the SFA SPL SFL are any good because they didn't turn a blind eye to cheating, so they need scrubbed. And of course, the SPL needs scrubbed also because Rangers were never good enough to win it.
The truth is that the SFA SPL and SFL need deinfested with pro rangers bad people and 12 teams in the SPL is the optimum number although all studies and sanctioned papers state an SPL of ten.
The SPL worked well for 12 years notwithstanding Rangers cheating for 12 years. It continues to work even better without Rangers in it.

I just want to get on with the football in the third division....but it seems like the eternally offended just wont let us do this!

The knights of truth and justice will keep fighting darkness wherever they may find it. Which is usually in here. Bringing light to these dark Rangers places. Never resting until justice is served.
You dark ones are always under the gaze.

I don't think people appreciate the scale of the authority the liquidators have.

Gratuitous alienation is key to this.

There are lots of examples; D&P selling membership to the SPL for a token £2 (now arguably this is rendered worthless on confirmation as liquidation ceases the club) however Chuck thinks that he's due £2m in prize money.
£2 for £2m?

There's Ibrox too, for all its on the verge of being delapadated, the front facade is crumbling (no real maintenance for years, pipes bursting randomly, rust apparent, asbestos ridden) it was sold for £2.5m but yet Imran Ahmed has claimed it's worth £50m on a bad day, now for all that this is an exaggeration he does have a point. It's worth considerably more than £2.5m.

Then there's The Rangers, they have taken it upon themselves to try and be 100% replica of the club that's about to be liquidated (less the position within the top tier of the league and players of any significance). Their branding is similar and they're sporting the same crest etc. Insolvency Laws prohibit this.

Chuck has been desperate to mobilize everything in an attempt to sell shares in his former Sevco outfit in an attempt to raise the money to repay his clients Ticketus.
Time is running out before BDO start their work and Green is exposed. It makes for fantastic viewing however.

Ok you are not a rangers fan but one of those who knows all things rangers when it comes to bad points or things you think are funny. So here's the question then I am fed up of all the p,Sh you lot say is going to happen like you have a crystal ball that lets you see all the bad stuff that will happen to rangers so come on tell us in your opinion what will happen to rangers in the next six months and leave your name so we can get a good laugh at you when it turns out you know nothing but how to talk Sh,t and if you get it right you can bask in your own glory

you know, I'm perplexed as to why the country is in such a monetary mess when we have this huge ,apparently untapped pool of legal/financial/business acumen bubbling under in the West of Scotland.....so many expert, acerbic, and rapier sharp minds have focussed on Rangers problems, with a myriad of ingenious and innovative solutions put forward......well, why don't you all direct your collective nous to resolving a shocking , endemic and damaging issue that carries a much more immediate threat ....why can't the wee Bhoys win an away group game in the Champions league?.......will tonight be 19 and counting?surely the saviour of England, Hooper will score at one end, and the other, er, saviour of England, Foster will keep a clean sheet at the other, whilst Wanyama, the African Makalele(?) will dominate the midfield alongside the shaven snarler Broon? Or maybe they'll just get horsed...again. Celtic then, Celtic noo, Celtic forever, still canny win an away group game.

Gratuitous Alienation - A transfer of property by a debtor to another person for no consideration or for an inadequate consideration. Such alienations in the period up to 5 years prior to the date of sequestration are open to a statutory challenge by the permanent trustee; alienations outwith that period can only be challenged at common law. Sequestration is a actual person not a company.

Don't know about anyone else but me personally I'm starting to get a little bit excited about our future, the amount of young lads coming through at the moment is great, guys like McLeod, McKay, Aird, Hutton, Naismith, Hegarty etc. the key thing here guy is patients. I see a lot of people jumping on Ally's back because we haven't had the best of starts but for me I believe in the long run this is going to benefit us greatly. In 4/5 years time providing we can keep hold of there talented lads and continue to give them the vital playing time and quality coaching that the so greatly require I have no doubts in my mind that we will be back and stronger than ever so let's get behind the team and remember be patient

In reply to jas, i quite agree mate, our only goal this year is promotion, for me, the cup competions are just a bonus, nothing else, we all need to stay focused and back the team to a div 3 title !!

I agree with you also Jas. The amount of Glory Hunters that want success now rather than realising that this is time to bring the young lads on. All this sorry mess is a blessing in disguise IMO. These boys would never get a chance other wise. As you say, we can look to the future with positivity. Take a few draws maybe the odd defeat but i say we take it on the chin and roll up our sleeves and we'll get back up there. Stronger. RTID

How will you keep these young lad superstars when bigger clubs can offer more money, biiger games and europe...????

danger you become a feeder club,no more

Agree5 Disagree0

@1 the cup games are a bit more than a bonus, they are an important source of revenue right now when we need it most, especially home games where a larger crowd normally attends. The more cup games the more revenue
