I see some posts concerning Scot Allan, why would anyone want him at Ibrox? He can’t get his place at Celtic, very rarely even on their bench. Bring in either McLeod or Davis, if anybody.

02 Nov 2018 16:15:01
Not saying for one minute that we should get rid of sg but everyone seems to think we've improved a lot since last season but I just don't see it.

02 Nov 2018 16:59:51
Me2 you r right no improvement we go 11 games unbeaten every year in Europe.

02 Nov 2018 18:16:29
No improvement? Goodness me that’s left me speechless. Near as bad as people saying “take the Europa League results out and it’s been a terrible start” it’s like saying take the spl results out and it’s been a record breaking start.

02 Nov 2018 18:43:23
And that is why kids, you should never take drugs! 🤦‍♂️.

02 Nov 2018 19:00:39
this site is full of part time loyal me thinks.

02 Nov 2018 19:13:15
To say that we haven't improved is ludicrous. We are doing more than excellent in the europa league (a competion where we couldn't get past the first qualifying last season) and barring one or two results, we're doing OK domestically. We can't win every game, it was only afew weeks ago we were singing the team and Stevie g's praises. Now two games down the line, the world is over because we didn't beat Spartak and the sheep. Better rangers sides have been put out of semi finals against worst aberdeen sides. We're not world beaters like the unwashed like to think they are. We had a good start and we have fallen away slightly is all. I'm not for one minute saying we are going to win the league, but there is definitely progress from the warbs and Pedro days. Anyone who says otherwise is blind. Would be nice if our "supporters" would do as the name suggests once in a while.

02 Nov 2018 19:30:06
It's also a much more competitive league!

02 Nov 2018 21:26:47
Dont like to point out but we couldn't beat livingston, surely europe is a sideshow or is it not to gerrard!

03 Nov 2018 01:41:29
Europe is a sideshow? 😂 What a joke. It's people like you who would be the first on here slating the team if we didn't make Europe. So please can you get a grip of yourself? Some people will never be satisfied 🤯.

03 Nov 2018 07:26:38
If you're satisfied dunoon then Heaven help us, would you be satisfied with mid table if we qualify from our group?
Its "people like" me that wants to stop 10nar at any cost not lose the league but be satisfied because we went further than them in Europe. Answer me this dunoon, if Europe is not a sideshow does that make it the main event to you?
No dunoon I'm not satisfied with not turning up against them, with losing against livingston but beating rapid and I'm not satisfied with the manager not knowing what our best team is and then playing it in the league and not playing a team with one eye on our next European game.
I'm not satisfied.

03 Nov 2018 07:57:25
Some people here must person trolls, at the wind up or just thicker than a whale omelette.

There have been a couple of bad results, mist notably Livingston, but that game aside there have not been too many bad performances. Two games a week over a period of time, you are bound to be under par now and again.

And equally important, this season is as strong in terms of amount of decent, improved teams. Look at the Sheeo's position now anf the end of last season as a marker.

We will be there or thereabouts at the end od the season.

03 Nov 2018 08:07:23
Celtic have better quality in every area than us. Unless serious money is spent “I haven’t a clue were we are getting it from” 2nd place is a realistic aim sad but that’s reality, they went out and payed 8million for a striker while we scratch around for loan players! If anyone finishes above us apart from Celtic then you have a point about it being unacceptable, I’d say when Gerrard sees the money lampard has to spend he might think he took the wrong job!

03 Nov 2018 08:42:42
Who said anything about finishing mid table? We're barely into November, can you predict the future now? As i said, every team has its ups and downs through out a season. We just need to pick ourselves up is all, and also not once did I say I was "satisfied". I merely stated that you are not and never will be. The original post pointed out that apparently we have made no improvements this season. But I think qualifying for Europe proves that wrong, but hey, what do I know?

03 Nov 2018 09:58:54
So you're one of the people that are NOT satisfied then dunoon?

03 Nov 2018 12:19:08
Jyf. Honestly? I didn't say that either? Don't put words in my mouth to suit your argument. But since you ask. Yes atm I am satisfied as it goes. We finally have the right man in charge and dispite the clichy, we ARE still a work in progress. What exactly do you expect? For us to score 5 or 6 every game and not concede, we can all dream Jyf, but unfortunately the reality is, the days of spending mega bucks on players are long gone. We have to work with what we have, or would you rather we spend big and go bust again just to keep the likes of you happy? Get a grip. We're doing fine. 🇬🇧🔴⚪🔵🇬🇧.

02 Nov 2018 13:39:36
Some of you on here really need to get a grip. The whining, the blame game, the frantic criticism of players and manager - do you think this is all something new? Just a quick look back today uncovered these facts:
In season 1989-90 we won just two of our first eight league games. We won the league. The next season we won just 5 of our first 11 league games - we won the league. The next season we won 7 out of 14 games between September and mid-November. We went three games without a win and everyone was calling it a crisis and demanding Walter Smith's head. It was his first full season as manager! We won the league by nine points and won the Scottish Cup. Players were also being hammered by fans and press alike during all of these early season dips in form but the team came good. These days, 'support' seems to swing between the extremes of hysterical when we win and suicidal when we lose, a situation brought about largely by social media. Stay calm and support the Rangers!

02 Nov 2018 19:15:03
@burnbank1 - that’s too sensible a post for on here in the current climate where a few like to analyse everything too death after a defeat / draw! 👍.

02 Nov 2018 20:10:37
We have had investment in the team and facilities, good recruitment of players, manager and backroom staff, and yet the dummy gets spit out at every glitch. We have played a lotta games this season with league, cup and europe, and are with few exceptions competing in every game. Sometimes I think what truly holds us back is a negative section of the support, we need to get right behind our club and urge them to glory, and enjoy the ride too! C'mon the Gers.

03 Nov 2018 07:33:19
Burnbank, when we won just two of our first eight games were the fans happy? No, you said yourself we were not so perhaps that fan reaction spurred them on and to concentrate on the job at hand.
Players of small clubs are happy with mid table and if they deliver that then escape criticism from their fans. That's not Rangers.

02 Nov 2018 11:19:14
This is a very controversial subject among us bears but here goes anyway. I'll firstly state i don't want this player anywhere near ibrox, as he had his chance to wait to sign for us, his so called boyhood heroes and the rest is history!
In saying that, scott allan is exactly the type of midfielder, we're looking for at rangers, IMHO!
He is a terrific midfielder in my book, with the killer pass, very much in his locker! He's very creative and clever! He could and should have been our no.10 at rangers but he's made his bed on that one and sure as hell, must now lie in it! Its a scott allan type of midfielder, we're most definitely needing!

02 Nov 2018 11:52:36
Steve Davis for me super.

02 Nov 2018 12:15:08
Allan is a good player as you say coops but, for the same reasons as you, no thanks!

02 Nov 2018 12:43:34
Decent player but more inconsistent than we have at present and a complete luxury when the tough gets going. If we have the ambition to get back to the top then we will need far better than Allan. I’d rather get Stephen Kelly in the team before him. We really need to be signing loans or permenant signings that are better than what we have and he isn’t that for me, can only remember him having that one great season which was in the championship.

02 Nov 2018 12:52:34
He will never play for us so I’m not really sure why you posted this.

02 Nov 2018 12:52:49
The challenge for Rangers now is to put out a starting 11 at least on a par with Celtic. When we get to a point when we can consistently take points off them then the league will be in our sights. That's not going to happen by signing players that are not good enough for Celtic. We need to sign better than that.

02 Nov 2018 12:55:52
Allan not good enough for me. A cast off for that lot so why would he make the difference we need? Plus he is a wee pr*ck 😂😂.

02 Nov 2018 13:09:47
100% agree with this.

02 Nov 2018 13:49:24
Don't know if we could still afford him but John Fleck is now the stand out midfielder in the Championship.

02 Nov 2018 16:51:41
my pref wld be a fit lewis mcleod back - I never wanted the lad to leave in the 1st place - only if he’s fit tho he’s had a torrid time with injuries recently

steve davis wld also do a job for us

we are def missing a creative spark in midfield no doubt with jack arfield halliday coulibally all v similar types and ejaria looks a decent player but he ain't going to win many games for us

i also thin we need a poacher.

02 Nov 2018 17:18:46
Funny how things change I mentioned Scott Allan last season and got no one agree and 23 disagree.
Scott A is one of those players that seems to relish getting praise and needs loved. I think SG is the type of manage that would get the best out of him.

02 Nov 2018 19:23:26
Scott Allan should never even be considered. Lad is a total anchor.

02 Nov 2018 20:36:12
Wouldn't have him near us! Agree we need that type of player though.

02 Nov 2018 22:51:04
Scott Allan who stuck two fingers up at the Glasgow rangers and tried to break rossiters leg at Easter road. Aye that's the guy we should sign .

03 Nov 2018 00:24:34
Had his chance, proclaimed his love for us then sold his soul to the devil. He can do one.

02 Nov 2018 10:13:49
No doubt we haven't been at our best of late no doubt some players out of form at the wrong time I think we need to take this season as a bedding in period for SG absolutely no point in even considering his position to at a minimum this time next year
If it's true, the one thing I'd change is the clause that guarantees loanees game time
IMO katic done nothing to justify being dropped and it's had such an adverse effect of the boy Worrall isn't much better so it must be these guarantees that are in place
I still think we will end up top 3 in the league but need to stop dropping points at home.

02 Nov 2018 22:07:03
Cmon our first points dropped were against Killie.

02 Nov 2018 09:53:36
Over all am still a happy bear. This month hasn't been good true, but compare us to last year.
At start of season we were either not sure of SG or confident. I wasnt sure. however my confidence grew with results in europe and yes that maybe brushes of domestic results abit.

02 Nov 2018 12:53:26
Think we actually made a better start in the league last season?

02 Nov 2018 08:41:35
Should Halliday start at left back till Borna is back. As for all some slate tav, I do for his corners, opposition do seem to attack our left side. I feel it’s because Candias and tav work better together covering than Kent and Flanagan. I personally would start Halliday ahead of Flanagan. Looked more hungry. Better attacking threat.

02 Nov 2018 10:50:43
How about Halliday at left back, Flanagan at his natural right back and drop Tav?

02 Nov 2018 12:13:16
You can look at Tav's performance recently and pick holes in them yes.

However we have scored 43 goals in total this season. Tav has had a goal/ assist for 16 of those.

At the moment we are struggling going forward and I wouldn't ultimately say removing our second biggest contributer to what success we have had so far is the right approach.

He could maybe benefit from having someone else chipping in with the odd corner/ fk to take the burden/ expectation off his shoulders.

02 Nov 2018 13:54:57
Does anyone know the current situation with wallace?
When we were terrible before, he was the guy who stood up and made things happen.

02 Nov 2018 14:16:33
Ted he is still injured/ injured again.

02 Nov 2018 19:21:57
Wallace is finished at Ibrox.

02 Nov 2018 08:20:35
With all the pressure and chances gears are creating .
How many goals would Kenny Millar have scored this season? .
I know he is old but he still knew where to be when the ball got played into the box .
Just saying!,

02 Nov 2018 10:59:10
The problem isn’t with the striker it’s with the service. El buffalo and Lafferty are more than enough up front.

02 Nov 2018 13:26:46
Lafferty is not the answer , leaving Morelos as the only goal threat in the squad .
Nowhere near enough for a Rangers team .
The right back is more of a threat than the whole midfield? ".
Needs a McCoist / Boyd type in there.

02 Nov 2018 07:39:30
I'm sure we are all disappointed at the last three results but dips in form happen. We are bound to go on a good, long run and we are 4th in the league only 4 points behind them. I'd like to see Barisic and Katic back and Rossiter given a run. Let's assess where we are after Christmas then we can see where SG is taking us. In January, we must sign an attacking midfielder and a back-up striker.

02 Nov 2018 19:35:26
steve davis and louis moult.

02 Nov 2018 06:13:49
Still think with the players Steven Gerrard has at his disposal, that the 4-2-3-1 is the best formation for rangers to play! Thoughts fellow bears?

02 Nov 2018 13:55:26
The 3-5-2 is good for teams who don't already dominate possession. All we'd be doing is leaving another defender back, which is not what we need. Our full backs already play like wing backs (or should) . We just need individuals to stand up and make something happen in the final third.

02 Nov 2018 06:09:41
Although up 'till now, our domestic results may suggest otherwise, I think without a shadow of a doubt, that we have definitely improved, under steven gerrard as our manager! The winner and professionalism in gerrard, is undoubtedly being built in,
right throughout our club! I'm fully behind stevie G and expect him to get our domestic form going. He'll get it right i've got no doubt and will be a very good glasgow rangers manager! We've got to remember gerrard is still a very young manager at only 38 and this is his 1st managerial job, which of course has very high expectations! Steven Gerrard will handle those expectations, just like he done as a captain and player at liverpool! He's used to big pressure! He'll sort us out, i've every faith in him! He's a very clever man and knows what's needed to play for an institution like glasgow rangers! Get behind stevie G and the team! We'll come out our lull and prosper!

02 Nov 2018 10:36:54
Happy with 4-2-3-1 in Europe or against the mankies, but for me a home game should see 2 strikers. 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 v the St Mirrens and Hamiltons etc. Teams that sit in - we need more up top.
