Long shot I know guys but if anyone is looking to get rid of two tickets for next week's old firm game please let me know.

02 Mar 2017 22:38:04
No worries big man, I'll hook you up with that and a 10 day med cruise for £500 😉. Just log onto craigwhytetravel. com and use the code ticketus!

02 Mar 2017 23:13:37
If sat game is Graeme murtys last game would like to think fans would give him good send off the guy has done his best to steady the ship. He has had a thankless task but he can go out with his head held high.

03 Mar 2017 14:14:28
only if we get through

02 Mar 2017 20:45:35
Looking like the Portuguese guy could be next manager but looking at his current set up in Qatar he doesn't seem to have his own right hand man (currently a Tunisian who has only worked at that club)! Any thoughts on assistant coach who would come and help him out? Someone who knows the club or has he maybe a fellow Portuguese he will bring in! Even with DOF I think we also have to strengthen coaching staff! Any thoughts?

02 Mar 2017 21:53:25
What about Pedro with Barry F as assistant?

02 Mar 2017 22:06:12
I would want rowett he done good job with Birmingham and woz unlucky he got sacked? I think he could have lot of contacts down there to get us God players who could do us up here? He signed Greg Stewart who I know personally and he would walk from Birmingham to sign with us and he would be great signing?

02 Mar 2017 23:10:52
Why would Rowett come to Rangers as a number 2 with a DOF above the manager. Rowett is a good manager and is probably the best choice as manager not a number 2.

02 Mar 2017 23:23:14
We need to look further afield than down south in the lower echelons of English football. As has been shown.

02 Mar 2017 23:25:35
Its a stone waller that Kenny Miller will be asked to partner this new coach. Knows the club, the history of the club and the mentality. We need an inside man who can bring that to table whilst we venture onto a new horizon of managerial. exploration.

Ross Wilson
Pedro
Kenny

02 Mar 2017 23:55:58
Espekay i think Barry Rowett is next manager subject to agreements between club and agent.

03 mar 2017 00:35:31
If, as is looking likely, that Pedro Caixinha does become our new head coach, then we must get right behind the guy! Although he wasn't my first choice and probably wasn't any other rangers supporters first choice, it won't stop me giving my total backing to the portuguese gentleman, as the new Glasgow Rangers, head coach!

If it does come to pass, i welcome pedro Caixinha, to glasgow rangers football club! as he'll quickly find out, he's in a privileged position of becoming the 16th man to be manager / head coach, of the greatest institution in the world, "The Famous Glasgow Rangers"! welcome to the rangers family Pedro Caixinha!

03 Mar 2017 14:25:07
A thing i noticed is in tje last two games rangers defenders turned their backs as the opposition scored. Can you imagine Gough, Butcher or Amarouso doing that

03 Mar 2017 12:05:32
Kennys still got a few yr as our main striker never mind assistant manager

03 Mar 2017 12:07:03
A wee point to johnnymac! Still waiting on this announcement you said was happening on wednesday my friend! Just to remind you this is now Friday! I did say i wouldn't hold my breath on what you said! Thank god i didn't!

03 Mar 2017 14:38:21
Pedro mendes in as coach and get an experienced assistant.

02 Mar 2017 19:36:04
Hearts have d. o f and already lost robbie Neilson, young cathro looks like he is struggling. Question is who do you blame? Is it his players or is it leveim players and cathro just coaches them. I think d. o. f is a dangerous road to go down.

02 Mar 2017 19:59:36
I am just pleased that we didn't go for Cathro! I guess that Robbie Neilson was not an easy act to follow! Our next manager won't have that problem!

02 Mar 2017 20:28:12
Cathro would not have lasted long at rangers. I still find it difficult to have a manager younger than some players. Only problem Tom is the manager can't be judged on the rest of this season if he comes in now.

02 Mar 2017 22:43:05
Fully agree Lance; with the length of time that the Directors have taken to make these appointments I would like to think that they have been doing their homework and not just tossing a coin and hoping it comes up heads!

I would like to think that the new manager will be given a transfer kitty, (don't ask me how), so that he can bring in his own players. I reckon that a number of our players are underperforming and hopefully they will perform for the new guys!

02 Mar 2017 23:44:12
I think the fact that they have been interviewing candidtes for the best part of three weeks, drawing up shortlists, carrying out the due diligence you all scream for, studying the 'form' so to speak, not diving in head first, ascertaining what each candidate could bring to us under restrictive circumstances, all point to something a little more professional than 'tossing a coin'.

02 Mar 2017 18:11:47
With regard to a good scouting system, the Board could do a lot worse than contact our ex players to request them to advise if their is a good young player in their region. e. g. Nueman etc (Holland), Albertz/ Klos (Germany), Amarusso/ Gattuso (Italy), Prso (Croatia), Buffal (Belgium) to name a few. The financial side is not my forte. After all some did receive vast sighning on fees (EBTs) . Admittedly the young ones would probably want to stay in their country and play for their top teams - but you never know.

02 Mar 2017 23:22:50
Ooft. Admitting EBTs. Dangerous game that.

02 Mar 2017 22:59:45
I've been saying that for years bud

02 Mar 2017 23:12:52
Are these good players who are available for free?

02 Mar 2017 23:47:13
They've already utilised former players abroad for advice, but Warburton put a stop to it. That much I do know. And by the way, Bufoon65, EBTs were legal.

03 Mar 2017 01:42:20
Nothing wrong with EBT's Brenda!

03 Mar 2017 14:41:51
yes let's talk EBT'S again how interesting that is! not we took the piss with the EBT'S and old co will be punished for it but i still don't agree that is right as they where as we all know legal at the time.

its like saying drinking is illegal then arresting someone for drinking a week before it was outlawed.

im not the most financial minded man but sound like a witch hunt to me

02 Mar 2017 17:43:52
The team deserves credit for winning last night. McKay mirrors Eden Hazard in a lot of ways, not in his class yet but like Hazard decides if he's in the mood or not and when he is he's a great player. Hyndman would be a great asset but I can't see Eddie Howe letting him go and on a lighter note the papers say it was easier to score than miss for Garner a minute after he came on. That's the point, he hit the post when it was easier to score. He did the more difficult thing hitting the post and how many other players could have pulled that off?

02 Mar 2017 21:14:48
mirroring hazard (no in his class yet) . got to laugh mate, wee Barrie is not in Scotty Sinclair's class and he never will be. he's 23 not 17.

3 goal return this season. not great, average actually, just like his potential

03 Mar 2017 12:21:17
It's his 1st year at this level and has proved to be a very good player, if he played for a certain other team he would be in the national team.

03 Mar 2017 14:45:43
kaney sunclaire is fast barrie is a different type of player and its easier for sinclaire as he has a good team surrounding him up front while we have garner and waggy and miller who is a brilliant player but not the goalscorer we need soo badly.
enjoy your time just now kaney mate as we all know it swings in round abouts and our time is coming.

02 Mar 2017 17:24:07
Rangers are set to appeal kernon red card. This is a joke. A total waste of effort and money. He is quite simply one of the worst defenders i have ever seen. Totally incompetent defender who is simply not good enough. If there is not someone else on rangers books even at youth level who can defend better then we seriously are in trouble.

03 Mar 2017 08:27:32
Initial reaction was it was a stupid, poor tackle, dived in feet off the ground at pace, player between him and the ball. I'd rather he was suspended and we play ANYONE else. Agree total waste of money appealing.

03 Mar 2017 14:49:32
30 years old and i didn't know who it costs money to appeal we shouldn't even have a rangers top on ever i is the worst defender I've seen in a rangers top i honestly can't remember anyone worse.

he constantly shows goal side he is almost as slow as clint hill his reading of the game is none existant and he always gets caught under the ball when going for a header

02 Mar 2017 14:54:05
Let's hope we get our new man in place before next Sunday we need stability we surely can't go into the Celtic game without some leadership . Surely our fortunes are going to change sometime after 5 years of hell let's hope the board get it right and we can be a true force again .

02 Mar 2017 16:37:10
Our fourtunes will change when we have a better calibare of player in key areas.

02 Mar 2017 14:27:59
Had to pay Green's and fatboys legal costs for court proceedings today. Apparently we halted the action for some reason. Not be legally minded, not 100% what this means. just hate giving those purveyors of snake oil a penny of our cash!

02 Mar 2017 18:34:52
Rangers' lawyers withdrew their request for the production of more incriminating documents concerning Green, Fatley and co. but can go back to court again. Maybe Red Bull will come in and we can completely re-brand the club's shirts and logos and leave Fatley with nowhere to go! My god, Green, Whyte and the others were crooks!

02 Mar 2017 22:03:23
Why our legal team withdrew is anyone guess but by doing this they have cost us in having to pay the fees why bother request more information then withdrew it cause green ect would need more time to give the club the imformation surley the laywers no this would have happend so why request it if they didn't want to wait.

02 Mar 2017 13:57:06
Whats happened to Dodoo?

02 Mar 2017 15:59:53
He started running around with rossiter and it's rubbed off on him. Windass as well

02 Mar 2017 13:47:18
Was Kiernans sending off the correct decision? I reckon it was a harsh tackle but when you see it in slow motion I reckon it is only a yellow, then again I'm old school. What is everyone else's opinion?

02 Mar 2017 14:49:22
In my mind 100% not a red full blooded tackle studs weren't up poor decision however there was no need to go flying in like that in the 1st place

02 Mar 2017 15:24:06
Stupid tackle, 2-1 up with time left and Boulder nut flys in with a tackle from behind, either way he gives the ref a decision to make. Sooner he's away the better imo

02 Mar 2017 14:56:48
I agree. His foot was on the ground and not dangerously high. Stupid thing to do though, especially when out on the touchline. Gave the ref a decision to make when he didn't have to. I thought he and Hill both had a decent game to be fair.

02 Mar 2017 15:43:31
Whether people think it was a red or not, i'm so glad, i just hope we don't win our appeal, he could play against celtic :- (

02 Mar 2017 16:01:44
Never a red.

02 Mar 2017 22:45:23
I didn't think that it was a red card but he didn't need to make the tackle in the first place!

02 Mar 2017 11:34:56
Thought Tav was different class last night. Showed a real desire. That goes for Waggy as well. Maybe Murty has an influence after all?

02 Mar 2017 14:43:00
maybe they don't wanna be sitting on the bench for a season and that's what they where going to be doing if they didn't lift their game! long may it continue.
i have always said with better cover tav would be a great rb very modern but he does have to reign it in a bit with the going forward but i'm sure the new manager will see that straigh away

02 Mar 2017 15:12:01
I thought the whole team played very good football last night. As I've said many times before there is a decent team in there if we can just eradicate the suicidal defending. Almost did a Britney again last night, only the brilliance of wee Emo saving us at the death. I read a few comments on another site saying that this lad is not good enough for a club like Rangers! Wish we had a team full of the same calibre of player

02 Mar 2017 11:37:30
Dont understand why the board aren't going for frank de boer. His agents came out twice saying that his client is interested in the rangers job and that money isn't an issue. This was our chance to make a statement with a big name manager much like they did with brendan rodgers when they could have easily went for an alan stubbs or paul lambert. It would have been a statement of intent getting de boer saying we are rangers and we are on the up. Instead we are looking at a portugese guy no one had heard of until the other day. Its shocking.

02 Mar 2017 11:53:26
Totally agree he's the man we should be going for, why are people saying he's ruled out?

02 Mar 2017 11:54:33
Just because he's not a big name here in the UK doesn't mean he's not a talented manager. CONCACAF Champions League finalist seems like a pretty big deal to me.

02 Mar 2017 12:59:18
Isn't the CONCACAF the American equivalent to the champions league? Every team who is in it plays out their skin to win it.

02 Mar 2017 13:08:16
If the portugese guy gets the job i hope i'm proved wrong and he is a massive success at rangers. I just fear he may be another paul le guen.

02 Mar 2017 13:21:31
I'm gutted we are not going for be boer for me he had to be the number one target. however if it's not to be him I'd like the Portuguese guy something a little different. I am fed up with all these same old same old names going around and don't want Rowett at all he had two 10th place finnishes with Birmingham then sacked that's it why is he even being considered

02 Mar 2017 13:14:48
No, the CONCACAF is the european equivalent to UEFA.

02 Mar 2017 13:45:28
Ahh, got a tad confused there.

02 Mar 2017 15:07:34
I was actually at a CONCACAF Champions League game years ago. Atlante v Joe Public. Remember them selling bottles of whiskey and tequila in the stands and the locals being so drunk they were pissing over the stands and one guy actually pissed himself!

02 Mar 2017 14:44:28
Who to say we didn't go for deboer and he knocked us back? Maybe he is just being polite, a year or two ago he was being linked to teams like spurs etc i think he's holding out for a good team in a good league, was always a pipe dream for us sadly

02 Mar 2017 13:47:31
yes uefa champions league not the europa league!

02 Mar 2017 18:31:51
OSA is correct. Its their Champions League equivalent.

02 Mar 2017 09:42:51
Sorry to hear big Tommy Gemmell has passed away. I am from the era when wee Wullie Henderson/ Johnson used to run rings round defenders until they were clattered up into the air. Tommy was one of those clatterers.

02 Mar 2017 10:25:42
Before my time, but achieved legend status with the Lisbon Lions. RIP Tommy Gemmell.

02 Mar 2017 11:21:27
My thoughts go out to the family of a true legend of the Scottish game.
RIP TOMMY

02 Mar 2017 14:06:31
Gd stuff lads

02 mar 2017 14:50:03
r.i.p. tommy gemmell

02 Mar 2017 15:21:45
Sad to hear this, he was one of Scottish Football's icons. Hard as nails and didn't take prisoners and knew how to take a penalty. He came from an era when football was a mans' game, unlike today.

RIP Brother.

02 Mar 2017 09:01:27
Well played tonight lads. Hyndman in particular and with McKay it's as if it depends what mood he's in whether he turns it on or not. I was at Real Madrid game last night and what an experience. Mrs got me it for my 40th. I'll tell you Las Palmas deserved to win but what an atmosphere and great football to watch. Different level. Their left back Marcelo was terrific. What I noticed was the amount of balls at side and how quick the ball boys are at putting them back in play. Ball boys are about 19,20 yrs old and it worked as Real Madrid scored two in last 5minutes. I watched rangers game on RTV when got back to hotel. Now that debour is out frame I'd like Portuguese guy. 🇬🇧.

02 Mar 2017 07:41:28
Has anybody got an idea what kind of experience this Portuguese guy has, his name keeps popping up and with only 4 months on his contract won't cost a penny, does he know the scottish/ english game or are we chancing it and that's a dof is getting brought in, hey if he knows mourinho we might get a couple of half decent loans out of it lol
P. s though to hyndman what a player cracking prospect and if any chance came up to keep him ill be all over it.

02 Mar 2017 08:10:18
never heard of him. he has Weiss at his current club so hopefully he brings him along

02 Mar 2017 08:47:05
Doesn't stay long at previous clubs with average stay of 1.47 years been assistant manager of sporting and and a few others

02 Mar 2017 09:33:37
Sorry to hear of the death of tommy gemmell condolences to his family.

02 Mar 2017 09:34:27
Seems to have been good in South America, according to Wiki, winning 3 major trophies and reaching the final of their equivalent of our champions league. Looks like he was decent in Portugal before that too.

02 Mar 2017 09:42:00
Just checked him out he was a star player at his school in Portugal, he scored 23 goals in 6 games at St Theresa de Domenica in lisbon . so a relly positive guy

02 Mar 2017 10:03:40
Apparently we were after him before we signed Warburton, He plays a 4-2-3-1 formation (unsure if this is the formation he is using out in Qatar)

02 Mar 2017 11:22:41
He done his badges at SFA course in largs, he was assistant manager at Sporting lisbon and panithanikos when we played them in 2008, was manager in mexico with santos laguna and currently managing in qatar.

02 Mar 2017 10:42:18
Dont like the sound of it at all, he doesn't have experience managing big teams although he has been assistant at a few, he's managing a Qatari team just now for god sake! Unless its Frank De Boer I don't think we should be going for foreign managers, I fear another Paul Le Guen incident.

02 Mar 2017 13:00:46
Trueblue, I reckon the Qatari teams could come over here and wipe the floor with most of the teams in our league.

02 Mar 2017 14:57:28
quatari team would wipe the floor with us and have vast amounts of money to spend.

but they won't be used as stepping stone to the epl as we can be so that's the attraction for him and i think he will maybe stay here 3 seasons tops before he leaves but with a director of football in place it won't be as big a deal replacing head coach as it would replacing a whole management team

02 Mar 2017 01:46:52
Said it before, first job for the DOF should be getting Hyndman in from Bournemouth on a map permanent basis.
Different class!

02 Mar 2017 14:01:32
what a player he is and his vision is brilliant maybe if anything i'd say he need to put on a few pounds to toughen up a bit but other than that he would be my second pick.

01 Mar 2017 23:51:36
Some of the football we played tonight was delightful I have to say and that is down to mark warburton. I will say the defence is rotten and that was his downfall but with one hand tied behind his back mistakes were going to be made and that cost him. Let's try and get our club stabilised and get back to where we belong but let's stick with this style and some good recruitment will see us all right.

02 Mar 2017 06:35:01
He could have signed better defenders rather than having a team full of midfielders. Look at new the summer midfield signings - Crooks, Windass, Rossiter, Barton, Kracjar. Based on game time we could have had two decent CBs

02 Mar 2017 07:42:58
Total was murder last night. Slow, lazy, can't pass the ball. How the hell can he be getting game time ahead of some of our own young players is beyond me. Good result in the end but, a bit nervy at times.

02 Mar 2017 11:30:48
Hope a lot of our contributes read MrRobertsons statement, with the important bit being that we have came on good in such a short time, but we are trying to stabilise the club and that will take time, well that's the gist of it

02 Mar 2017 14:04:08
id play forrester ahead of toral but that's just me
