Big big chance to lay down a marker on saturday with a win against a full strength dundee team.

02 Mar 2016 21:55:27
I agree. It will be tough but we most certainly can beat Dundee. I think we have better players than them, plain and simple.

02 Mar 2016 22:14:28
We will have to be at our best. A hard match awaits but we should be good enough to get a win.
My biggest worry is kane hemmings another good player wasted at ibrox under ally McCoist!

02 Mar 2016 23:34:40
Really looking forward to our scottish cup game against dundee at ibrox on saturday, will be really tight I think but it'll gauge where we are currently, really impressed with our january signings billy king, harry forrester and michael o'halloran, I hope we can sign king permanently from hearts in the summer, he's very direct and tricky with quick feet, forrester when he came looked unfit but now warburton has him looking very lean and fit, he like king is skillful, now onto o'halloran who I think could be an absolute snip at 5k, he has everything and is very pacey and direct with a very good first touch, he's also a very strong and fit looking player, o'halloran imo will go on to be a terrific rangers player and will eventually fetch around between 3-5 million quid in the transfer market if he's sold in a few years down the line! We'll miss o'halloran and king this weekend against dundee but I still think we'll nick it 2-1.

03 Mar 2016 07:56:29
How was hemmings wasted under mccoist he spent nearly a full season injured and when he got a chance was mince.

03 Mar 2016 10:45:26
Totally agree with Cee on Hemmings and this is not one you can pin on McCoist. He gave him chances and he blew them, the ones McCoist gave him and the ones on goal.

All this talk about premiership standard and how we rate. There's an easy and quick calculation to do and that's to ask yourself how many Dundee players would make the Rangers team. The answer's none. But they will come to visit the bigger team and raise their game 200% on Saturday, that you can be sure of.

02 Mar 2016 20:57:27
Yip see dundee have rested good players but I fancy them still to take some points of that lot tonight onwards and upwards.

03 Mar 2016 08:30:34
yes Dundee obviously rate rangers enough to rest players
against celtic
this could easily played out for a replay especially with
the league now won a replay could be cash ion the bank for both teams.

02 Mar 2016 20:05:19
I see Paul Hartley has rested five players for the game against scotlands top team on saturday obviously fancies his chances with a weakened team against the mhanky mhob.

02 Mar 2016 21:32:02
Interested to see if they play the 3 forwards with a 3 midfield or wether they go out and defend.

02 Mar 2016 21:32:10
Yes craigton bear, obviously Hartley is giving us the respect that our team has earned.
I posted recently that I think we will win by a couple of goals, against the odds, and was the subject of ridicule, but my feeling is still the same. Rangers 2-0.

03 Mar 2016 11:34:46
Maybe Hartley thought that he had a better chance of winning on Saturday and that's y he rested his players, just a thought guys, it's down to us to prove him wrong, I'm just gutted our front 3 are missing.

02 Mar 2016 19:03:13
I like the look of young Wigan striker will grigg I've seen him play a few times for northern ireland he's banging them in for wigan this season. Wonder would Wigan do us a good deal like they done last summer lol.

02 Mar 2016 21:19:56
I said this all summer and he has also worked under Warburton before at Brentford.

03 Mar 2016 10:23:12
I remember Griggs name being banded about in the summer, the guy is a natural goalscorer and very much the kind of player who would score goals in the top league.

02 Mar 2016 16:48:32
Excellent results last night, just like to thank Mark Warburton and Dave King for the impact they have made in the short time they have been at the club. I genuinely believe with a few clever signings this summer we can win SPL next season, whos going to stop us, Celtic, they are rank rotten? Also like to point out the absence of the negative brigade on here coming on and saying anything positive in spite of the progress we have made. They are so spiteful towards Dave King they just can't bring themselves to admit they are wrong about the man and give him some credit. 99% of the fans on here are delighted with the way things are going so your negative nonsence is pretty insignifanct and tiresome. Onwards and upwards Bears, 2-1 to Rangers on Saturday against Dundee.

02 Mar 2016 17:42:07
Couldn't agree more. As you say with some clever and astute dabbling in the transfer market there is no reason on this earth that we cannot be challenging next season. Don't really know what the negative posters expect of the manager and chairman. The difference in our standard of play from some of last season's dross is sometimes hard to believe. I was thinking last night that every single one of the manager's signings has been a success. I have never known that to happen anywhere or at any time. And it's not as if the squad took millions to assemble. Normally there are at least 2 or 3 guys who would be moved on as it hasn't worked out for them. Very happy with the way things are going and with Hibs losing again even happier. No doubt if we happen to lose to Dundee (it could well happen) the woe is me merchants will flood the boards with their happy rhetoric. They play the other mob tonight first. Let's see what happens over both games before everybody starts blowing a gasket.

02 Mar 2016 18:51:43
Excellent post lads. Couldn't agree more👍🏻.

02 Mar 2016 21:22:34
Do hope nobody sees myself as negative, I've supported Dave king fir years, even tho I'm not deluded enuf to not realise Rangers , at this moment would finish about 25 pnts behind that mob I still believe mr king will come good, 40 odd yrs of following Rangers gives you a bit of experience in assessing where we are, and anyone who thinks Thi side would challenge at the top are simply deluded, no matter what they post, this is factual, not nonsense.

02 Mar 2016 22:00:37
How the hell is it factual? It's your opinion but if you think the current Rangers team would finish 25 points behind them I fear it is you who is deluded. And I attended my first Rangers match in 1962 so have been following them a bit longer than you if you want to go down that road.

02 Mar 2016 22:38:19
Obviously not been learning then eh? , they have much, much more cash to spend than we will, its simple really, if you believe This side can challenge, then you really are deluded, I am Rangers daft, so dint think otherwise, I played football fir saints, Falkirk, and bankies, while not hitting tge high spots I know when a team is at a level required ti challenge, and at this point in time Rangers are miles behind septic, that my friend IS factual,
Tonmy.

03 Mar 2016 05:43:40
None of the above posters mentioned anything about challenging next season everybody knows we need signings. All they did was commend Dave King, Mark Warburton etc for the way things have been turned around in such a short period of time. As far as finishing 25 points behind, after some good business in the summer there's not a chance this will happen. Tomtom it's the same all the time on here with you. Now that hibs are out of the picture you move on to more negativity about next season. How many times does it have to be said that this team was assembled to get us out of the championship and they have almost done that. Let's see what happens in the summer and IMO the manager will be backed. You post all this stuff then when it backfires you resort to slating posters like that warburtonthefifteenth fella. Get a grip mate and just enjoy some good times ahead for the famous Glasgow Rangers.

03 Mar 2016 16:49:46
Don't talk pxxh, I'm fed up asking that king be supported, now the place is full of experts, tell me when I ever supported hubs? Whom I dislike intensely, I'm saying this side isn't good enough but it was built with a purpose, now some believe this side is great? Its Nott I have always support Dave king, because I know he loves Rangers, and the warbsvguy was posting like its a classroom, and telling us who cur manager Is rvery single day
Tommy.

03 Mar 2016 23:10:41
You have missed the point jay, jam Rangers deft, never, ever supported anything concerning hubs? Just reminding people that we have come through a lot and need to show some appreciation of what Mr King and co have done, and also to be aware of how good we are at this moment? Sad that I've been posted on here for a long time, longer than most of the posters who are now telling us we are great? This attitude is what we warned about in the early days of demotion? We need to take victory in a respectable manner, not scream that we are brilliant and have no, one to fear because we are better, we, re not better, at this moment in time, we will be tho, I have no doubt, but for now let's enjoy the experience, ,
Tommy.

02 Mar 2016 21:02:14
Both posts bang on the nail excellent statements.

02 Mar 2016 15:56:51
delighted with the board and management team 1st class, good to see Hardie Murdoch&McCrorie all scoring last few days.
So "it, s stand up for the Champions" I can hear the fat lady clearing her throat. Lest we forget.

02 Mar 2016 17:21:08
Especially great to see Murdoch score the winner against Hibs. Sure it made Stubbs doubly sick and he couldn't even acknowledge what a great strike it was when interviewed last night. Priceless.

02 Mar 2016 19:31:14
Stubbs is a pratt. The sooner Celtic sign him as their new manager the better. LOL.

03 Mar 2016 10:30:50
have to say i'm starting to think Stubbs does ma t**s in almost as much as the wee ginger fella that manages Bolton, BT also keep putting the big tadger on ma telly as a pundit, make up your mind stubbsy! are you a pundit or a football manager!?

02 Mar 2016 15:26:44
Anyone else think wilson needs replaced? I sit in the club deck and everyone around me is always saying how dodgy he is. I agree and think he has been weakest link. If we got an experienced CB partner kiernan I think kiernan's game would develop as kiernan is by far the better of the two. Think he needs the experienced partner to help him.

02 Mar 2016 17:04:23
Thought this at start of the season but he has came on to a game in recent weeks, he was a talent as a youngest for us before and I believe he will come good again given time. MW and weir clearly see something in him or ball would be starting before him.

02 Mar 2016 17:43:50
I thought Wilson played really well last night! Must be watching another game I reckon!

02 Mar 2016 18:15:07
Defence has been rock solid, we have only lost 17 goals all season and of course the whole team is involved in defending but the centre halfs are main players and have done great. Also let's remember Wilson dropped down a league and gave up the captaincy at Hearts when we needed him.

02 Mar 2016 21:24:43
Wilson wasn't very hood tge first time around, dw made him, and Liverpool bought a pup, that's obviously why je never got a game there
Tommy.

02 Mar 2016 21:34:44
When Wilson steps out from the back to play he is class and showed last night he can also be hard in the tackle when needed.

02 Mar 2016 22:39:35
Class, mmm, what class is that mate? second class?

02 Mar 2016 14:31:08
Hi ed and fellow bears.
Could you help with a question I have. Please excuse my ignorance for not knowing the answer. If Rangers got to the Scottish cup final this year against Celtic and lost and Celtic won the league so qualified for champions league, would Rangers get a European spot themselves as cup runners up, i know that used to be the case, but I'm really not sure if it still is. hopefully we get to cup final and win it. thanks.

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure, I know in England it is winners only and it just goes to the next highest placed team, but not sure if that is a UEFA ruling or just for England.}

02 Mar 2016 14:38:21
Thanks ed.

{Ed001's Note - sorry I can't help more mate.}

02 Mar 2016 14:58:11
It is possible for the Scottish Cup winners to have already qualified for a UEFA competition through their league ranking in the Scottish Premiership. In this scenario the qualification spot passes to the highest ranked team in that competition not yet qualified, rather than to the Scottish Cup runners-up. [19][20] Until 2014, the Scottish Cup runners-up qualified for European competition if the cup winners had also qualified for the Champions League. [20]

hope this answers your question mate.

02 Mar 2016 15:09:55
English Bear, I'm sure I read somewhere that for Rangers to qualify for Europe, this season, they must win the cup.
Again, I'm not 100%, but I'm sure someone on here will be able to clarify.

02 Mar 2016 15:15:50
Yeah I think we need to win it. I'm sure if Celtic win it already having qualified for the champions league the place allocated to Scottish cup winners goes to the 4th place team in the league.

02 Mar 2016 16:12:30
Thanks all for your replies, here's hoping we lift the cup this year, i love going on European trips with Rangers.

02 Mar 2016 11:37:50
And to think some people on here wanted forrester out of club after his first game.

02 Mar 2016 12:17:41
Forrester and king linked really well, was a joy to watch king give Thomson a torrid time lol.

02 Mar 2016 17:47:27
The kid played with a right old swagger. I think he's going to do just fine in a midfield role behind the strikers. Was also very impressed with Billy King and thought Holt was back to near his best. All good and just at the right time as we're getting towards the business end.

02 Mar 2016 11:15:22
Well hats off to W&W they have turned our club around no end along with DK and the board.

I am so chuffed with the team/ squad that we have, they are all coming together nicely. Some tweaking next year, few out, some additional quality in and we will be in a good place.

Also the youth players that we have seem to be very good prospects and with MW in charge I am sure we will see plenty of them make the grade.

The league is done in my eyes, MW is just as professional as they come and what a job W&W have done.

I think it would be fitting if we went all the way in the Scottish cup and also won pro cup final we have coming up also.

Can you imagine, 2 trophy's in the bag, return to the top flight complete, Scottish Cup Final, last game of the season before we return to were we belong, Rangers V Celtic, Hampden Park, not a bigger or better occasion, that is exactly what Scottish Football needs. The outcome of that game, going on how MW has went about his business this season, a victory for the mighty bears, treble complete, Selik Sack there manager and next season looks ever so promising.

Onwards and upwards, in W&W and DK we trust!

02 Mar 2016 13:01:25
Only thing that would put me off that is THEY might thrash us in the final. No wait a minute.

02 Mar 2016 10:42:07
Any thoughts on the likes of John McGinn getting a potential call up to the Scotland squad and still no mention of any our players getting a call. Fair enough he's been their best player this year but they are 14 points behind in March so how affective has he been really. Holt, Wallace and McKay have been excellent this year and have performed far more consistently from what I've seen. McKay is twice the player Forrest at Celtic is yet he's been getting caps for years. Holt is better than McGinn and Wallace has been the best left back in the country for years regardless of league.
I would be happy if Rangers as a club withdrew completely from the Scotland set up. I know it's a harsh comment but I'm sick to the back teeth of Scottish Footballs attitude in general towards our club, players and fans.
The hatred of us stems from nothing more than our overwhelming success. Most countries celebrate their most successful team but not ours. I would join the Atlantic league in a heartbeat, not because I think it's the answer but simply to leave the toxic environment that is Scottish Football.

02 Mar 2016 12:19:05
Mcginn is overrated, wouldn't call any player playing at this level up.

02 Mar 2016 13:25:21
McGinn will not be picked to play for Scotland no matter what happens. There are plenty of young Midfielders in the SPL to choose from, but Strachan will select English Championship players because of the competitive level they are playing at Robertson and Tierney are ahead of Wallace for LB. Macdonald/ Cairney/ Bryson/ Bannan and then the boys at Norwhich on top of that.

02 Mar 2016 15:00:00
it depends on what you class as an international player
young Robertson at hull is being chased the teams in England I do not think any one is breaking down the door for
Wallace.

02 Mar 2016 15:18:35
Recbob

Difference between Forrest and McKay is that Forrest plays in the top league and McKay doesn't. You can really only compare the 2 when they are playing in the same league and I'm sure Strachan will do this when choosing his Scotland squad.

02 Mar 2016 16:00:59
Fair point biffo but a couple of my Celtic supporting mates would argue forrest doesn't play in the top league either lol. They say he's been rank rotten all season.

02 Mar 2016 16:05:24
For me it is good that no Rangers players are being called up to play at International Level. I do not want to see our players run the risk of injury, especially playing in a Scotland team managed by Strachan.

02 Mar 2016 21:05:00
Scotland have traditionally treated Rangers and Rangers players unfairly/ harshly. Let them get on with it. As someone above said, if they are playing for Scotland they risk injury.

Butcher broke his leg playing for England and arguably cost Rangers the League in the mid 80s. McCoist broke his leg playing for Scotland in the 90s.

As you can probably tell, I am not a fan of International football, never have been. Wouldn't open my curtains to watch Scotland. Let our rivals supply Scotland with players and they can risk injury for the pride of playing for their so called country

02 Mar 2016 21:32:38
So you won't be watching any of the euros then? Nor have you ever watched the world cup? Not a football fan then?

02 Mar 2016 16:24:19
McGinn is better than Holt, no question about it and improving all the time. Agree about Mckay being better than Forrest though.

02 Mar 2016 21:57:01
Tomtom12 - No I won't and not since the 1982 World Cuo. Why does that not make me a football fan?

03 Mar 2016 01:09:34
Just as its the absolute pinnacle of the sporting / football world, the WC I mean. I may be wrong but I believe football doesn't get any more exciting than tge WC, the CL is only fir rich clubs, Barca or Bayern won it every year, but the world cup throws up some fantastic football and excitement, 3 games a day live, teams from all over the world? What's not to
Tommy love?

03 Mar 2016 20:10:44
Sounez I wouldn't swap Holt for McGinn and 1/ 2 a million. Holts a far better player in my opinion.
Wallace was the best left back in the SPFL when he last played there and although he has been down the divisions with us I still feel he will return to his past form. I don't see why everyone thinks because he was loyal and braved out the lower leagues it makes him a worse player. I think by the time his career is finished he will be remembered as a legendary captain.
I just find it funny how every pundit that's seen us play has been impressed with the style of Football this year and yet the Scotland manager doesn't think any of our players are even worth a mention.

02 Mar 2016 06:47:34
if forrester keeps playing as gd. he is defo going to get him self a new contract well done lad. and also we should try sign Billy king as he makes a big difference.

02 Mar 2016 08:16:11
Agree and at last we play well again could have been 5 easily.

02 Mar 2016 08:32:25
I defo think we should sign the two of them up. Both are young have pace and plenty skill.

02 Mar 2016 11:29:16
Billy king was class, hope mckay was taken notes.

02 Mar 2016 17:49:56
McKay is also a class act.

02 Mar 2016 06:29:33
Forrester and tavernier were excellent in my eyes. tav getting back now and defending. with the likesof murdoch and walsh also gasparatto returning from loan can yhese boys cover position. good to see young burt coming on. i hope when league wrapped up we give top players a rest an let youth privail. top top top marks by wallace for going over to burt when he came on.

02 Mar 2016 12:28:21
Sorry Davie. I don't think Tav passed once to a Rangers player last night. I was diasappointed in him.

Raith were poor and we strolled the game - literally. Too ponderous for my liking and need to sharpen up for Saturday.

03 Mar 2016 01:14:03
BB, its a fact mate that many Rangers fans now can't see the failing, if you look at all posts from last night game. We had bout 7 players who were brilliant, but they weren't. Raith were very poor, and we strolled thru, now some would have you believe king is worth millions, tav is world class, and Wallace should be captaincy of man city, ?

02 Mar 2016 00:46:13
Glad to see Liam Burtonwood get a run out tonight. This boy is the most exciting thing to come out of Murray park for as long as I can remember. Nows the time to get him some games with the league in the bag. Celtic have already tried to nick him and the big teams down south will start to take notice. We need to keep him happy by giving him games.
