Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

02 Jul 2020 23:06:15
It's going to be a very interesting situation with regards the signing of new players, a hell of a lot of players are going to be released all over the uk agents will be touting them all over the place, to Rangers included, let's just wait until the season comes around.

02 Jul 2020 21:44:35
Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons guys.

Would bet if fatman shops are to sell our kits they will be cheaper than our stores and he will get them sold guaranteed.

Not from me tho.

02 Jul 2020 22:26:07
As long as the club get the £££ agreed per strip, I don't really care that much tbh!

02 Jul 2020 23:35:22
BlueBilly He wouldn't be allowed to sell them cheaper! He has no control over manufacturing or pricing! His shop will only have a right to sell the amount castore allow him to have at the price set.

03 Jul 2020 04:50:09
And if he’s left with stock . we will not be forced to buy at retail price like in his own unethical and immoral dealings of the past.

03 Jul 2020 08:18:27
Spot on Barrowlad!

03 Jul 2020 11:47:01
I'm probably wrong again Barrolad, but I was under the impresion retail price fixing was banned in the UK.

03 Jul 2020 12:04:21
Ashley is nothing to do with us or our retail. If he buys our strips from castore with the intention of selling them, well good luck to the rat👍.

03 Jul 2020 12:38:05
Bluebilly, you are right, price fixing is illegal and again competition laws.

03 Jul 2020 23:15:30
He can sell for whatever price he wants. It’s his business.

However I very much doubt that running a retail empire he makes such decisions. I’m sure he pays someone else to makes those calls.

02 Jul 2020 14:38:13
Does anyone have any info regarding the Rangers shop in Belfast as like will it be relocating or closing down as i noticed on the club statement the mentioned the renovation of the superstore and that they are looking as opening more stores in and around Glasgow and further afield the reason I ask is I like to go in try on make sure what I'm buying fits right and from time to time you get deals in the shop that aren't put online i personally think the readers shop in Ann Street in Belfast is a fine addition to the city centre but qould love it to be a wee bit bigger to allow changing rooms ect and stocking of more products as I hate getting home with what I think is my size or getting it delivered only to find its either too big or too small but then even when i bought a pair of RFC flip flops last year I got home to find 1 was my size (an 8) and one was a size ten and had to trudge back into town ro have them changed lol.

02 Jul 2020 16:21:57
Just go into sports direct, try it on and then buy online in our size so they don't see a penny mate. Sorted!

02 Jul 2020 17:08:32
best plan I've heard ever snell!

02 Jul 2020 17:39:47
😂😂👌.

02 Jul 2020 18:01:26
Are you chaps suggesting we use SD as a fitting room with no purchase is ever made?

02 Jul 2020 18:08:27
nailed it snell 🤣.

02 Jul 2020 18:53:17
Got a fright there Snell, thought u were promoting sports direct there, lol. Great idea and post mate. 🤣👍.

02 Jul 2020 19:21:29
Snell unless you are living aboard your plan doesn't work. No trying on clothes are allowed in shops due to the C.V..

02 Jul 2020 19:23:08
Am in and spread the word. Qualiteeeeeeeee.

03 Jul 2020 11:43:18
Could try on lots and lots of stuff but buy nowt. Even more fun.

02 Jul 2020 13:49:21
Alright Guy's, I went direct to Castore about SD and Fat Mike, Here is their response to my message.

Hi Colin, totally understand your cause for concern, the club issued a statement on this last night:

Club Statement

and we can confirm that the club are benefiting now more than ever from every sale through the online and new megastore. I can confirm that Mike Ashley has no shareholding in Castore.

They don't say they won't be selling through SD but, I just won't buy from them. I'll go direct to Castore or Megastore.

02 Jul 2020 15:27:45
good post Yogi.

02 Jul 2020 13:25:17
Anyone else concerned with the lack of transfer activity or even serious links to decent players? So far Hagi is our only decent signing and even on him the jury is out to some extent. A ropey goalkeeper, a 38 year old striker and a youth left back. We need 3 players minimum that can go right into the starting lineup. I think Gerrard still has too much faith in the flops that have let us down twice (at least) before - Tav, Goldson, Kent etc. I would sadly be surprised if the first starting lineup of this season has more than one new signing in it.

02 Jul 2020 13:56:32
Nope, I’m not concerned. I have trust in our management team. Rangers will be in the best possible shape for next season.

02 Jul 2020 14:14:48
No as that transfer window hasn’t opened yet so I think you need to have be a little patience.

02 Jul 2020 14:31:02
Ropey goalkeeper? You know a lot about him Swagman's?
And you're well up to speed on U23 football in the EPL?
Good to see you're already back to normal slating Gerrard before a ball has even been kicked in anger.
P. S. you should read Andy Halliday's opinion on Tav and Goldson. I take that over yours. 👍.

02 Jul 2020 14:53:49
Here we go he’s back 😱😱the happiness hoover!

02 Jul 2020 15:38:17
aye were having a nightmare did the tranfer window not just officialy open yesterday? we will sign stronger players. bassey and the keeper have had to come in to fill spaces left by halliday flanagan and wes/ alnwick. there called squad players.

02 Jul 2020 16:14:00
Would be lying if I said this about Basset but definitely feel it's a goalie upgrade too. Good signing and happy Hagi here to stay. Give it time mate!

02 Jul 2020 16:18:45
Theswagman, you're referring to jermain defoe the 38 year old striker mate. I've got no doubt at all that defoe will play a big part this season in regards to winning the league or not. Yes he'll more than likely do most of his stuff coming from the bench, but what a goalscorer to bring on, to pull you out a hole. Even though he's about to turn 38 later on this year, he's still a very fit guy and is easily the most natural/ best finisher in scottish football! 👌For the record after my wee rant about defoe, i'm not worried about the lack of transfer activity so far, as you put it mate, as i'm very confident gerrard will sign a few class acts, that will make the difference to our starting 11.Patience pal, as there's plenty of time!

02 Jul 2020 16:27:16
68 - where does this trust in our management team come from after two failed seasons and the signings of Ejaria, McAuley, Flanagan, Lafferty, Sadiq, Ojo, Grezda, Coulibaly, Worral, Firth, Jones, Barker.?

Did they have us “in the best possible shape” the last two seasons with those signings?

We are honestly deluded, it’s like a Steven Gerrard cult.

02 Jul 2020 16:28:45
Tupac - yes I have seen a lot of him, he played for Hearts, I watch all the goals programmes on Sky so I see all the League One goals, and he’s had 2 Scotland caps. He’s hardly a mystery man from Eastern Europe.

The young English player route we’ve gone down plenty times as a club over the years, I don’t remember Dodoo, Windass, Aribo, Ejaria, Rossiter or even Kent (bar one 3 month period which convinced us to waste £7m) tearing it up.

I don’t need to hear Halliday defending his pals, I’ve seen them play with my own eyes for years.

02 Jul 2020 17:25:11
It's been a while but thewagsman is back to his usual negativity. Moaning about our transfer activity and it's the 2nd July 🤔
Let's wait and see who we sign before throwing in the towel?

02 Jul 2020 17:25:58
Swagman for years you’ve come on here with the scatter gun we get it you hate Gerrard it’s personal with you it’s too vociferous you were banned rightly so for an OTT. Post now your back same again so why don’t you give us solution your manager wish your signing wishes within reason it’s never ending with you So we wait with baited breath for the golden nuggets from you.

02 Jul 2020 18:14:22
I didn’t realise Wagman had been banned and have to admit he hasn’t been missed! I am open to all opinions but the dislike to our current Management is where we are with him and he wants them to fail🙃🇬🇧.

02 Jul 2020 19:18:38
Opinion of an Awful player, nice.

02 Jul 2020 19:38:45
Tupac

Why should you take Andy Hallidays word for Tavernier and Goldson? Surely if you watch Rangers regularly you have formed your own opinion on them?

02 Jul 2020 21:27:11
@swagman I personally try and watch a lot of football not just rangers and I’ve seen a decent amount of McLaughlin (the gk) for Sunderland and he is better than foderingham and alnwick. Defoe being signed is great news as I believe he will stay with us after retirement also. Hagi has the ability IF played in his best position and I can’t say a lot about the young boy other than we beat some decent sides to him. It’s July 2nd give the club some time to bring people in before declaring it an all out emergency.

02 Jul 2020 23:32:12
I noticed Defoe’s legs were gone at times last season. Having played way past Defoe’s age I know what I’m talking about, when you reach that age the legs just can’t do what the brain wants, it’s frustrating, vey frustrating, but the signs were there last year for sure. Not saying he can’t still do us a turn, only that when the legs are gone and you don’t have that sharpness you are not the same player.

03 Jul 2020 01:06:35
Swagman, I am definitely not deluded. Some players work out, others don’t. Rangers have had a huge rebuilding process to undergo since Gerrard and his team arrived. Gerrard has not had lots of money to rebuild. He has had to move on a lot of players. Some players he has had to keep until their contract expires because no-one is willing to buy them from us. He has had to bolster the squad with loans and it is a risk.

I accept that some of the players he has brought in haven’t worked out. However he has brought in potential like Aribo and Hagi and these guys will come good and make us lots of money in the future. I suppose the bottom line is I believe in those that are leading and managing Rangers and you obviously don’t.

03 Jul 2020 01:26:52
SGL / Muppet. My understanding is that Defoe adds so much off the field, particularly if you are a striker. Learning from someone of his quality will benefit the team hugely and that is what he offers.

03 Jul 2020 09:46:08
I have my own opinion Biff316.
And currently, Goldson along with Helander would be in my opinion the best CH pairing at the club. 👍
The other 2 are still young and naive at times as was shown after the winter break when individual errors cost us. And I don't see us buying another CH this summer.
As for Tav, he's been made captain and I'll support any Rangers captain.
Again I don't see us buying another RB. One thing about Tav us he never hides. And I've stated many times, Rangers sides in the past had leaders all over the park. So when things were going wrong after the winter break where were your Jack's, Davis etc to drive the team on?

03 Jul 2020 10:00:52
68 I agree I’m sure he has loads of experience and advice to offer and will help the younger players so much and is great to have around just saying his legs are going and he cannot perform as he once did. Phenomenal player in his day.

03 Jul 2020 11:41:46
A wee message for you Theswagman.
Get behind gerrard, the management team and the players like we all should/ must do and stop the ANTHILL MOB from getting 9.75 in a row. We need everyone connected with the famous to be singing from the same hymn sheet, in this upcoming penultimate season!

I'll reiterate what i've said on here for a good while now. Gerrard has definitely improved us and if we can cut out the stupid dropped points against the so called lesser teams, i truly believe that gerrard will win the league as rangers manager and this season coming! Ignore the noise from breeze block boulevard, because we're honestly not far away here and they know it!

02 Jul 2020 11:55:37
Guys, C.V. has exploded the online retail industry. Purchase all of your club kit and merchandise online. Otherwise at the club megastore or an independent retailer like Greaves in Gordon street. Ignore the fog of war.

02 Jul 2020 13:58:10
Totally Bankie. If you can purchase like you say.

02 Jul 2020 18:13:12
Greaves is a great shout 👍.

03 Jul 2020 00:27:37
Greaves still waiting for confirmation on whether they will be stiocking strip.

03 Jul 2020 11:44:13
Correct Mols and good blue noses.

02 Jul 2020 11:24:58
I can't stand SD however if there is a deal to be done with the biggest sports distribution company in the country then as long as it's with Castore and not us, if we have agreed a percentage of the kit and we are getting our share no matter who sells it.
It's ok for us in Glasgow but what about all the other places in the country where people want to buy the kit. Castore have little or no stores as they are an online distributor. As long as we sell thousands of kit etc then we are the ones making the cash More we sell more we make.

01 jul 2020 10:50:58
From Scottish Sun: sports direct claiming you can only get the strip from them from August 1st.

02 Jul 2020 11:42:28
Well since you can also get it direct from castore and the ibrox store! that's wrong!

02 Jul 2020 11:50:58
Load of rubbish👍.

02 Jul 2020 12:47:14
Pretty sure i read the mega store ooens on august 1st with another 50k tops onsale for the mega store reopening.

02 Jul 2020 13:06:56
Unfortunately that's what the wording exclusively means. I can't get what is happening with our board or even our lawyers.

I can see this being another court case as we have not heard any outcome from the last one and that was decided that sports direct had the rights to selling our kits hence the reason hummel left a year early.

TORAL SHAMBLES ONCE AGAIN.

{Ed001's Note - has anyone got the full text of the 'exclusive'? Only it could just be for a certain period. Just as an example, Foot Locker will have a number of trainers labeled as exclusives to Foot Locker in their store. Now I have once had reason to question this as I was wearing a pair of the trainers labeled as exclusive to Foot Locker which I had purchased elsewhere a few weeks before. The exclusive was just for a period of time, in the case of the trainers I am referring to, they were sold everywhere for one month, then nowhere but Foot Locker for the next 6 months, then would go back on general release. Is the SD exclusive simply exclusive to their stores for a month? Is it that they are exclusive distributors (in which case they could be distributing to other sportswear retailers)? The word exclusive needs context to explain what is exclusive about it. What does it exclude?}

02 Jul 2020 14:11:38
Cheers ED. either way ED, what needs to be realised is that, every time that MA's Stores sell a Rangers product, we get a Royalty which will be in excess of any previous dealings, he has NO influence on Rangers FC Retail Contracts any more. It is normal for suppliers to distribute across the market to improve their revenue, and exposure. That's my take on it anyway.

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea what the deal would be, but just wanted to point out that putting the word exclusive there does not necessarily mean as much as people assume.}

02 Jul 2020 14:41:52
Your correct ed. We need clarification on the wording exclusively. It's like sky saying that they have exclusive coverage of old firm game but you can watch it illegally on iptv service. Hence the word illegally which usually results in court cases.

{Ed001's Note - that's true, people can break the deal on the sly as well. But the word exclusive does not always mean what people assume. It can be a very limited exclusion which can apply.}

02 Jul 2020 14:46:18
I agree with you ED, someone else on one of these threads, whom, I believe is pretty clued up on Retail Contracts, has said that exclusivity can be for a short period of time, the main aim is to create as much exposure to the Global Market as anything.

{Ed001's Note - I must have missed that post, so I really didn't need to mention anything then as someone else explained! Sorry.}

02 Jul 2020 16:29:43
I honestly don't see where this panic is coming from guys. The club made a statement, castore made a statement doubling up on that and that ashley has no shares in them etc. We either believe rangers and castore in what they're stating or not. I most certainly do believe rangers and castore and no matter who castore allow to sell our kits in the high street stores, its rangers and castore who get the royalties and no other 3rd party is involved. I think there's mischief making out there and you don't have to be einstein to have an educated guess to who's behind a lot of this.
Ignore them they're irrelevant and our club stands to make big money from our castore kit sales!

02 Jul 2020 17:16:32
as i mentioned on rumours. ed001 has nailed it. exclusive . until its not and someone else gets it. which knowing the aggressive sd marketing could be a week.

{Ed001's Note - that's actually a very good point you are making. They could simply have been the first to receive supplies as there are limits as to how many they can produce, especially as the covid situation has affected their ability to manufacture them.}

02 Jul 2020 18:11:33
No one else can sell from within the SD store, that is the exclusive right of SD. Play on words by Fat Man to create publicity for his stores.

02 Jul 2020 18:21:57
Great point Ed and Eric . How on earth can sd claim exclusivity when we have already sold 50 k outwith a sports direct shop. ? Pure mischief making hoping to cause unrest in the rank and file . we have to rise above and not heed the nonsense. don't GO TO SD FOR EVEN A PAIR OF SOCKS . boycott remains and if they are so exclusive let’s see how many strips we see without them 👍.

02 Jul 2020 19:24:53
Tupac do you know what exclusive means lol?

02 Jul 2020 22:22:28
Lads I’ll try and make this as simple as possible for those who still can’t grasp this.
SD sell Man Utd, C@ltic, Liverpool strips etc.
Does the fat turd have a hold over these clubs? No!
SD would have to buy their stock from the supplier I. e. Castor. i'd assume if SD bought in bulk they would get some sort of discount but not much. Now do you think fat man is going to buy thousands upon thousand of stock from Castore? No and even if he did then Castore would still make a profit which passes on to us and SD would be left with stock that no Rangers fan would buy.
Cmon lads it’s not hard.

02 Jul 2020 10:47:49
Far too many people knocking players like Lawrence Shankland and Ivan Toney as not good enough for us due to the league they play in.
I would have to say that league one in England is a million Times better than the Finnish league and El buffalo has done no bad coming in from the latter. Wise up Bears trust Ross Wilson.

02 Jul 2020 11:02:58
I think that Shankland would be a good addition to our strikers if we can keep Morelos and Defoe stays as well.

02 Jul 2020 11:06:14
But the thing is, we only paid a million for morelos so not as much of a gamble. 15m for a lesgue player, come on. not worth a punt at any more than 3m or so.

02 Jul 2020 11:28:36
We cannot afford toney anyway no matter if he's good enough or not. Basically been priced out a move for him.

02 Jul 2020 11:34:33
Doiger and herewego I agree with both of your replies although I think buff will go but we need a player with s track record of scoring goals and having good discipline and both these players fit the bill.

02 Jul 2020 14:18:43
I agree I would say league one is better than the finished league and also the majority of teams in our league also.

02 Jul 2020 20:04:40
Overhyped nonsense.

02 Jul 2020 08:52:44
I'm not too fussed about Sports direct if I'm honest, occasionally I get dragged in there, The borders don't have many sports shops so if the kids want trainers etc I've not much choice when out shopping.

but back to my point SD aren't making any extra than any other outlet so that shouldn't make any difference and the way I see it, it gives our brand more exposure just having our shirts prominent in one of the biggest sports chains will help I think we may get more sales way down south from people that wouldn't have access to the mega store or think or going online to buy, spur of the moment purchases if you will.

So I'm not to fussed about what the media or the Celtic say about it if it enhances our shirt sales and brand awareness then it's good for the club.

02 Jul 2020 08:21:57
If we need funds it should be Kamara and Aribo we should be looking to punt, both go missing when the team are playing poor, no real fight in either of them.

02 Jul 2020 12:12:23
If they're as bad as you say sweep, who's going to buy them?

02 Jul 2020 12:44:03
Aribo will be a player that in a few years will make us a tidy profit, you can see his class but he is young and still learning.

02 Jul 2020 12:44:35
Are you another poster who thinks we will be able to command top for a player you don't rate personally? 🤔.

02 Jul 2020 14:20:20
Would neve em sell aribo he has the makings amid a good player.
Also we ain’t going to get much money for them
If they are as bad as you say they are.

02 Jul 2020 08:45:00
40,000 shirts on day one.
£60 a shirt.
If Rangers are getting rumoured 20% . then that’s just short of £500k
Not bad for one day. What was Timmy saying about Admin2?

02 Jul 2020 10:38:06
Absolutely brilliant from the bears and bearettes. The Fat Man couldn't resist one final swipe at our fans by trying to get in their heads by putting out the advert yesterday. Unfortunately some of the bed wetters in our support fell for it.

i'm glad that those are only a small minority who have no clue when it comes to retail.
Even a club statement yesterday couldn't quell the hysteria!
So to all the sensible bears and bearettes. BUY! BUY! BUY!

02 Jul 2020 08:43:58
Rangers have posted an update on Facebook.
Rangers retail deal is with castore no one else. Sports direct will be able to sell rangers kit, through a deal with castore.
If you don't want to buy rangers kit at sports direct, buy on castore website, or rangers shop/ shops.
Stay calm 😉.

02 Jul 2020 06:53:40
Bears really important to understand that Castore is a business and will want to sell our tops to high street retailers.

The club statement isn't hard to understand.

Yesterday I didn't buy my strip or my sons strips from Castore because they didn't have child sizes (my cubs are 2 and 4) I'll wait till August and queue at the mega store so I know the majority or proceeds go to The Rangers.

We will pull in a lot of money with the new kit deal now that Ashley is gone.

Don't concern yourself we the puddle drinkers propaganda.

Also Cruise, Van Wilder, Flannels, House of Frasier, Sports Direct . Ashley owns all of them if you don't want to fund that man I'd advise not to shop in any of these store .

02 Jul 2020 10:41:02
You're right AnotherBear, our club statement is easy to understand, but some just jump in feet first and don't take time to think! Its only two parties that get the royalties of our castore sold rangers merchandise, ie. rangers and castore,
end of story and rest easy on that!
I don't care if sports direct, greaves (who's shop i really like) and any other high street store that castore eventually allow to sell our kits, as long as rangers and castore are benefiting with the sales/ royalties and we most definitely are! There's no other 3rd party!

02 Jul 2020 10:48:23
Excellent Another 👍.

02 Jul 2020 10:50:35
van wilder party liason? he also has a shareholding in 4 marketing ( which brings in and supplies all stone island garments to stores in UK) he's not daft.

02 Jul 2020 10:51:04
Apparently the kids strips will be going on sale soon according to heart and hand on Twitter Castore tried to get them on yesterday afternoon but they were too much demand on others.

02 Jul 2020 11:30:24
KJA9 all they need to do is put a picture up on the website. The have a whole month yet b4 they are available.

02 Jul 2020 06:33:45
A know we have had some bad dealings with SD but a think to cope with demand castore will need to use retail sports shops and right now they ain't many JD and SD are two biggest. In an ideal world all fans would buy direct from club at mega store. But we are nationwide and worldwide people need to have access to buy the tops . The more sold the more money for players. Personally I dint care where they are sold.

02 Jul 2020 10:49:49
Only thing to watch is if there is a bit back clause for any unsold strips. Common in retail and means we would owe money back to fat man for any not shifted via SD. Hoping the club/ castore had the savvy to check that. Other than that, SD post looks like it was done to cause drama. For a company that size they really do act tinpot and scummy!

02 Jul 2020 00:05:11
Think everyone should calm their jets with the link to sports direct regarding our merchandise looks like they will be selling gers merchandise in some form but at least the deal is in favour of us this time and not the fat man and now personally I don't really care who sells the merchandise as long as it makes the club millions and at the end of the day whether we like it or not sports direct seem to be the biggest sports retailer in the UK which in turn should help sell more tops and make the club more profit to spend on the team and stadium i personally won't be buying from sprts direct ill be either buying online or from one of the rangers shops but it is peoples own choice and I know the fat man screwed us over for years but what I take from the statements released is the possibly castore have come to some sort of agreement with SD in order to be able to sell more ragers stuff at least this time its not the club dorect that's hung toed with contracts and wee should make money.

02 Jul 2020 00:40:02
At last some sense. Well said Aye Ready.

02 Jul 2020 00:44:30
Castore already said they would utilise all major sports shops and others as there are not yet enough exclusive outlets in the chain between us and them. So Ashley takes tops etc and pays for them up front. Nobody (or very few) people buy them. He's left with stock he can't get shot of and can't punt them cheap because the retail agreement makes that illegal. I see little wrong with that.

02 Jul 2020 06:52:20
Ashley is gone end of Don’t listen to the our haters from the East anything positive we have they make up a negative it’s their obsession they live and breathe every minute thinking about us you would think with the problems they have coming they would be keeping their head down a mean they can’t even sell their season books lol 🇬🇧.

02 Jul 2020 08:00:37
I get all the resistance to SD, but now it’s just a matter of downstream distribution for Castore

there is no exclusivity for SD at all, the club deal with Castore directly and they pay us handsomely in terms of sponsorship up front and so much per strip

I personally won’t be going to SD but if it helps sell lots strips at ridiculously more favourable terms for us, than we had previously, so be it

the terms we have negotiated with Castore aren’t even comparable to what SD handcuffed us too before so we win

the fat man has gone but it’s kind of ironic if now we indirectly use him and his distribution network to make club millions, of which Ashley will get crumbs.

Here here Thetinman, let's wait for buzz bomb and co to respond to your very TRUE post mate 👌 They make up negatives because they know deep down we're coming back big style and we're most definitely better, more loyal fans than that lot, everyone can see that its glaring! Need to get my sunglasses on👍😂.

Just read the Club Statement, and it says that all sales from Rangers Stores is exclusively for Rangers and no other party, It also says though that any Rangers FC products sold via Castore's distribution to High Street Stores will see us also get a royalty fro such sales, so, I guess Ashley once again could be selling our merchadise, but he will not have any say on our retail contract, my reading of this guys, comments.
