How did rangers get on yesterday against Raith behind closed doors Ed?

{Ed039's Note - I wasn't aware there was a game, nothing I can find either online)

02 Jul 2017 22:25:48
It said on the news we were playing but never gave a result

03 Jul 2017 13:29:06
Won 3-0. Morelos, windass and hardie. Two 30 min halfs.

03 Jul 2017 13:31:39
Apparently a 3-0 victory with Morelos, Hardie and Windass scoring.

Alnwick, Hodson, Pena, Wilson, Rossiter, Windass, Morelos, Herrera, Hardie, Beerman all taking part.

02 Jul 2017 20:36:07
With all the discussion on here about if Foderingham is good enough, which I do btw, who do supporters want to be brought in to replace him as they would need to be available and affordable . Off the top of my head I can't really think of anyone who fits the criteria who would be better than Wes.

02 Jul 2017 23:07:19
McShagger from Hull

02 Jul 2017 23:24:41
Mika would be a good replacement

03 Jul 2017 04:22:29
I would like to see Foderingham be more in control of his six yard box althoughough with two quality centre backs they should give him significantly better cover than he has had since his arrival. If we were to bring in another keeper I would be happy for McGregor to return.

03 Jul 2017 08:37:04
Hart haha if we could loan him for a year would be a great singing tho

02 Jul 2017 19:26:33
I'd take Hutton over Tav every day of the week. Sell tav on for £1m+ would be good business. The only thing that I don't agree with so far is Makay being dropped. Love to see him play in a decent Rangers side as the boy looks that type.

02 Jul 2017 19:52:02
Never mind hutton, we should have signed Paterson from hearts. Can't believe we let that one go. He would have been a great signing.

02 Jul 2017 20:17:42
Patterson should have been signged just like mclean walker and dorrans should but we keep offering penuts for quality players so is it no wonder they are not easy to deal with we are basically insulting clubs starting so low go in at a fair price then we would have more of a chance hopefully the director of football will sort this issue out by taking the job away from who ever is doing it now and offer fair money for the players

02 Jul 2017 20:21:34
Agree we should have gone for Paterson and McKay should be in the first team squad.

02 Jul 2017 21:44:50
Great how everyone can do it better and spend someone else's money. How about supporting Pedro and appreciate the standards he is trying to re-establish. Oh and by the way thank the board and Dave King in particular for keeping the faith and delivering the chance of a brighter future.

02 Jul 2017 22:52:51
Mckay doesn't work hard enough, he might have talent but if he ain't working hard he will not get a game ahead of someone who works harder

02 Jul 2017 23:04:05
Maybe we are offering what we can afford for Dorrans, Walker etc. All the players we have brought in so far have been on yet more soft loans. It is harder for us to deal with British clubs as they are aware of our recent financial history so most will want cash up front instead of multiple instalments.

We have to remember these soft loans need to be repaid at some point when the club can afford it which ultimately no doubt will mean less funds available in future transfer windows. We can't just spend, spend and spend or else we will be in a whole world of trouble again. If clubs don't accept our offers then move on to other transfer targets👍

03 Jul 2017 04:27:35
Walker and McLean have one season left so why offer crazy money for them. Either their clubs want money for them or they don't. If the players want to come to Rangers then they will bide their time and sign for us on Bosmans. That said, I suspect that we will get Walker before the transfer window closes.

As for McKay he has ability but he is inconsistent, he doesn't track back, he is not keen on taking hard tackles and there is no indication that he really wants to stay at Rangers. I suspect that he wants to go play for Warburton who appears to let his players do as they please. Very sad because the guy could develop into a quality player. Unfortunately I don't see that happening.

03 Jul 2017 12:23:37
Hearts complain we haven't offered enough for walker yet they only bidded 100k for Chris Caden of Motherwell so how does that work.

03 Jul 2017 12:54:46
Patterson is injured and will be for a little while yet so wouldn't have replaced tav if we got him anyway

02 Jul 2017 19:15:19
TJBB I was all for King from the beginning as I was anti Mike Ashley mate. Dave King has surpassed all of our expectations surely. Any man who can outwit Mike Ashley (Who is one of the worlds richest self made men) can get my vote hands down.

The only thing I was saying about Wes is that any time I've seen him he has made a mistake. Maybe having big Bruno Surrender in front of him will settle his nerves. Let's hope so because i don't think we have a big margin for error this season if we want to challenge. We don't need any Danny Bakers Bloopers clips.

Just my 2 cents, I'm no nay sayer.

02 Jul 2017 20:33:26
A fact about Dave King worthy of restating, is that he never wanted Warburton in the 1st place.
He wanted Pedro two years ago, but was outvoted by the other board members.

03 Jul 2017 12:52:57
Fellow Bear, I take your point. My post was to nobody in particular. However One person can't win or lose the league on his own. We must stand together, even if we had 11 Peter Grants in the side, I would still be 100% behind Rangers. that's just who I am.

Some may disagree, up to them, I support Glasgow Rangers not the players that are privileged to represent the club.

02 Jul 2017 18:27:13
Now the naysayers can't moan at King, Ashley, Halliday and the rest of the soon to be departed I see they are turning on big Wes. IMO he is good enough, yes not world class but has put in enough excellent performances to warrant at least another year. I just wonder if he went what would they focus thier attention on, the half time pies! On another note let's just say we have a cracking season with the likes of Pena, Rosiiter, Jack, Fredo, Herrera all being outstanding. How much on the Dembele scale do you think our squad would be worth. For these players alone I think close to 100 million. let's get behind the team for Tue. Niko was on another level would like to see him get a brace on tue.

03 Jul 2017 12:57:42
I was one of those critical of King and I am happy to eat humble pie on that one but I don't believe many will be over critical of Wes so long as he keeps performing. The criticisms of Halliday and others were merited, even though there were others, like myself, that wanted to see MOH succeed.

Pedro, in the main, appears to have identified the chancers and wasters and they are no longer wanted. Waghorn is being given the opportunity as is Holt, because other work rate but does anyone really believe that either of these players will be first eleven players once all our new signings are fully fit, especially with Rossiter now fully fit!

02 Jul 2017 18:26:17
Arsenal are preparing a £125m bid for Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe, 18, in an attempt to beat Real Madrid to his signature. (Sunday Mirror)

Are they all wired to a Mars bar? That is a ridiculous amount for any footballer.

02 Jul 2017 19:08:20
Too much money, if fifa weren't as corrupt they would make rules that were fair to all. English football gets tv deal for £5bn massive yet with their rate of spending they still go in debt. The country was brought to its knees in 2008 with the crash the Premiership had debt then of £12bn the country was borrowing £120bn how can they be allowed to make up do much of the national debt when people lose jobs go to food banks when in truth these debts are not theirs. The champions league as the highest rated tournament in Europe should pay the most and all other tournaments should not exceed it. In our country we have seen our game crumble clubs in financial ruin yet we have borrowed nothing compared to the English teams. Wee pissy teams with hardly any support can buy players the old firm can only dream of it absolutely stinks. Now England will get 4 automatic places in the champions league yet when in there they do nothing. Their national teams suffering because for years the best players have been foreign. I know there u20's won their respective world cup but where do they players go from there when demand and cash stops them getting first team football. Something must be done

02 Jul 2017 18:24:49
I think that Eula is quite right to investigate the abhorrent throwing of paper on to the pitch. It was extremely dangerous. I mean have you ever had a paper cut, they are very sore.

03 Jul 2017 04:37:04
Ha Ha, very good!

02 Jul 2017 18:04:57
Anyone know when the first live TV games will be decided?

03 Jul 2017 02:22:35
I read somewhere that Sky were deciding their chosen games, towards the end of July - don't know what BT's plans are - 2nd leg of our 1st qualifier is, live on Premier Sport again on Thurs-

03 Jul 2017 02:28:38
Just rechecked - Aug/ Sept games announced on July 10 - Oct/ Nov games announced on Aug 12 - both for sky and bt - except for viewers in Scotland probably - god knows when the sfa will come out from under the table and announce something

02 Jul 2017 17:38:23
Did Pedro say that he only wants 1 loan signing this year? (I think that he might have?!? ) .

Why wouldn't we go 4 a young Chelsea lad like R Wilkins was saying. I personally didn't agree with him saying go for a raft of Chelsea loans but I do see merit in having another say centre half or right back on the books.

02 Jul 2017 18:27:58
I think he said no more than 2

02 Jul 2017 22:06:50
He did say no more that two

02 Jul 2017 15:31:48
Is the game on Tuesday live on TV. Would like to see the two Mexicans play some part in the game, be interesting to see if Pedro sticks to the same line up, just think if we had kranjar jack Pena dalcio in midfield and Herrera and Kenny up front we would control everything but could change dalcio for candias, holt even tavenier put hodson right back, what do you guys think.

{Ed039's Note - game is on premier sports again)

02 Jul 2017 15:46:27
Cheers ed039 much appreciated.

{Ed039's Note - no problems)

02 Jul 2017 23:45:53
Hopefully waghorn and holt don't start the game and we some of Herrera and Pena.

02 Jul 2017 13:49:24
Anyone else on here think that we need a new goalie? . I can't remember a game when Fod didn't make a mistake. I also saw that Pedro said he wanted 3 registered goalkeepers. Just my opinion but we do seem to be upping the quality a bit and this department could be doing with an upgrade.

Bruno Surrender.

02 Jul 2017 14:59:30
Fully agree. Not a fan of foderingham. Only looked decent last season because we were so poor in defence.

02 Jul 2017 15:03:29
Fods was contender for player of the year last season, top quality shot stopper, saved us on many occasions with his saves just like kenny miller and his goals.

02 Jul 2017 15:39:14
A goalkeeper who looks decent due to poor defending? Sounds like a good thing. A keeper that handles the pressure caused by a shite defence.

02 Jul 2017 15:59:47
Fod is a good shot stopper but he is not a commanding keeper. He is reluctant to come off his line for balls. I like a goalie who will take out his own player if necessary to get to a ball.

02 Jul 2017 16:29:16
Absolutdely clueless. Was it not for Fod we would have been beaten at home by teams such as Motherwell and Ross County. Also consider the fact he has probably had a busier season than any other Rangers goalie I can remember, as our defence was absolute dung.

Probably Warburtons best signing.

02 Jul 2017 13:24:27
Does nobody else think we need a quality right back? And who would be available? Tav can't defend and gets caught up the park too often for my liking.

02 Jul 2017 14:05:19
I think we should've snapped up Paterson when we had the chance

02 Jul 2017 13:10:34
Work still to be done against Progres, however, hope PC has sent a scout to watch Limasol -
Progres need to score, hopefully opens game up and plays to our strengths. would take a 0-1 result, no injuries and a good job done.

On another topic, hope to see our team fitter and much stronger this year- was embarrasing last season---.

02 Jul 2017 10:49:47
Dorrans, Naismith and Walker would be great additions and almost complete our squad to challenge the manky mob next season. However, I still think we need a right back. Read the Sunday Post again today and Gordon Smith, Alan Brazil and Kenny Dalglish must be the three most anti-Rangers, bias newspaper columnists anywhere! I thought DC Thomson would be pro-Rangers but it seems times have changed. Never mind, I still love the Broons and Oor Wullie and I think Wullie is a bluenose. lol.

02 Jul 2017 12:35:00
Who disagreed and with what? My first comment or that Oor Wullie is a bluenose? lol

02 Jul 2017 16:47:42
I am sure that there was both a Broons story and an Oor Wullie story line, years ago that referenced both being Rangers supporters and once a Ranger always a Ranger!

02 Jul 2017 10:11:39
personally loving pedros approach to things. he's trying to get across to his new players that we are Rangers and failure will not be tolerated, loving the hardline with last years duds, Barry can't shape up or ship out as far as I'm concerned, Waghorn and windlass to follow. mediocrity can not be tolerated as we strive to make our way back to where we belong.

02 Jul 2017 00:59:24
Am starting to dislike pedro. if that's true about player can't wear green boots. that's just pissing players off and they won't wanna play for him getting told what colour of boots you can wear and can't.

02 Jul 2017 02:32:29
What self respecting human being would wear green boots anyway!

02 Jul 2017 03:46:25
Or drink limeade.

02 Jul 2017 06:59:54
Too right. Our players should not wear green.

02 Jul 2017 07:57:29
Good idea imo, he's trying to get them to hate Celtic and as much as we do

02 Jul 2017 08:50:53
I don't see Celtic players kicking about in blue boots (not that I've looked into to be honest)
It's a small fairly petty thing but I agree give them nothing on all levels.
I suspect most of this is bull*hit paper talk

Pretty much all the press is anti Rangers just now in my view so I take everything with a pinch of salt.

On that point what newspaper does everyone think gives the fairest coverage

I won't buy a Daily Record as it's a lot if sh*te
The sun is simply **** so I won't buy that

02 Jul 2017 10:02:34
Lol to dislike pedro because of that is just plain stupid in my opinion, ru sitting at home bored and just decided to write that up here to stoke up a reaction? Lol

02 Jul 2017 10:26:24
Sure i saw an interview with Gordon Strachan once who was told to get rid of his blue car before going to Parkhead.

He is trying to breed passion in these players. Also, if one of our players are annoyed because they can't wear green boots (despite the wealth of colours on every make of boot) they can jog on. They obviously care more about their fashion than the club.

Make you like Ped less CAW2, makes me like him a lot more

02 Jul 2017 10:37:24
Lol, its a pair of football boots! Really embarrassed by the mentality of some of my so called fellow fans. P. S who cares what colour of boots Celtic players wear, Celtic this Celtic that, Are Celtic the benchmark and yard stick we measure ourselves by?

02 Jul 2017 11:55:05
Banning coloured boots isn't a new I seem to remember advocat banning white boots an having a bit of a stramash with amato because it affected his boot deal

02 Jul 2017 16:05:20
He is trying to instill some passion in the team. Nothing wrong with that. I don't go to Ibrox wearing a green t-shirt, I wear a blue one. Plus we are Rangers and standards should be kept. Ryan Jack in the after match interview wearing a suit and club tie. The other players in the directors box for the game? . suits and club ties. Looks way smarter than kicking about i trackies.

03 Jul 2017 12:42:37
Pretty sure warburton done this?

03 Jul 2017 12:50:24
This is an entirely different type of ban if true. it's pathetic if you ask me. We need to stop this obsession with Celtic, I couldn't give a stuff what they are up to.

Im not sure I believe it to be honest seems petty and pointless. I understand trying to get the team together and educate the new players about our history etc. but green boots is just stupid.

01 Jul 2017 23:36:41
Having heard the Naismith interview on BBC sport Scotland I'd like to apologise for my comments about him and the way he left us. He sounds sorry about how things went down and ultamilly confused about what was going on at the time and having heard his side I really don't know what I'd of done for the best had I been in his possibilities so if he was willing to come back and not hold us to ransom over wages I'd actually quite like to see him back in a Gers top. My humble apologys for previous comments.

02 Jul 2017 04:37:29
Highland bear

He could have easily kept his mouth shut

02 Jul 2017 08:57:37
Naismith I didn't want back he's come out said he's made a mistake ( a really big mistake ) which is fair enough let's move on what's done is done can't change it. I'd personally give him a chance we all make mistakes as Isaias really big one but I've commented before if he explained and apologised I would hgive him a chance

02 Jul 2017 12:36:50
Maybe he is just apologising to suit his own agenda. Its well known he wants to return to Scotland. And as only us and Celtic ( who aren't interested ) can pay the wages he will be looking for then apology to appease the fans is his only option.
