Not an excuse but does anyone else find it strange that since the players were asked to take a pay cut the performance have got worse just like after the sh*t hit the fan we blew a 15pts lead surely this can be coincidence

OP Yes I agree the players have clearly been affected - who wouldn't be, the security of their livelihood has just been put seriously in question. It is to their great credit that they are turning out victories albeit they are struggling. But the situation isn't quite the same as the 15 point lead that was blown. let's not rewrite history - that lead was blown BEFORE the sh#t hit the fan, not after it. Most simply blamed mccoist at the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Last 7 games scored 16 goals conceded 3 goals. Surely the come back last week alone puts your theory to bed.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 1 were they not asking players to take wage cuts in the hope of staving off administration

@3 all wage cut discusion was held under D&P and not before. CW made no attempt to 'stave off administration', probably because he had no intention of avoiding it, it was part of his 'business plan' all along. But the players and coaching staff were kept in the dark until admin actually happened (at least according to what mccoist said at the time) so wage cut talk can't be blamed for blowing that lead.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 get your point mate but it seems the players are just doing enough to win games and not interested in winning with a bit of flare and style

#4 "CW made no attempt to 'stave off administration', probably because he had no intention of avoiding it, it was part of his 'business plan' all along"

Unlike the current board who have at least tried selling off a player (didn't happen) & get players to take a wage cut (didn't happen).

What's the betting on another admin in 2014?

I would now say it's almost inevitable.

Agree0 Disagree0

#6. I hope your right, it might be the start of the downfall of all the spivs and all the crap in the boardroom. fingers crossed

Agree0 Disagree0

N7, you seriously hope we go into admin again? Are you serious? I don't know about you but I thought it was embarrassing going into admin last time and defo don't want it to happen again!

Agree0 Disagree0

#8. Offcourse I want us to into Admin 2, it looks like that's the only answer to get rid of some of if not all the involved with our club. you certainly can't depend on the fans to help out, they just stupidly keep feeding the germ. well done Hearts fans you will soon own your club yourself, not like us waiting on some hero to ride to the rescue,. you have much less fans than us, so how come you raised far more money, Its pathetic on our part.

Agree0 Disagree0

The players are professionals. They have a job and are paid to do it. If nothing else they should be playing out of their skin to attract buyers in event of an admin2. No excuses.

I think the reaction to yesterday has been way over the top. Even after ten minutes I thought, this has been much better. Thought we played well in the first half, passing was much better, though finishing was poor. The blame lies with moshni, he's been a disaster waiting to happen and will get caught out big time in the spl. Templeton was our best player by a mile, was amazed when he was subbed. I thought Aird done ok and should stay in the team he definetly didn't hide. The further into the second half it got the worse it got but no wonder we aren't the most of encouraging of fans at times. The players were s***ting themselves. The second half was dreadful there's no denying it. Players weren't even moving looking for the ball at throws but we should be getting behind them. In my opinion black should be the first one out he offers absolutely nothing. On another day it would have been 5 or 6. Should have taken our chances

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The standard of football from the Stranraer game has been woeful with the exception of the Dunfermline game. We have struggled against Stranraer, Airdrie, Forfar, East Fife and Brechin City and the football has been shocking. Yesterday's displeasure is not due to that one game but a combination of the poor performances in recent weeks. The decision to sub Templeton was shocking even by Ally's low standards

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon Wallace may well have told McCoist that we have to live within our means. The dwindling crowds at Ibrox is not a good omen for future income.

It seems to me that Ally will stand or fall by his ability to bring in the Murray Park youngsters as fully fledged Rangers players. He needs to rest half of the first 11 once we've won the league and allow the best talent out of the under 20s play their part to end of season. I hope Wallace makes it a non negotiable policy.

Agree0 Disagree0

We better shape up before the game against dunfermline there are some decent players they signed forbes shankland grainger page.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP can you please explain why in one sentence "we should be getting behind them" then a couple of sentences later you slate Black. Should we be getting behind them except him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly re 1, better than what, the total dross we have been getting, oh boy that justifies everything.
re 2, spot on, it is abysmal, cannot believe I am saying this but if Ally does not wrap it along with the non events standing beside him I am giving it 2 more games before I am off (no doubt will get the ''you are not a true fan'' response, but sorry everyone has a limit.

Agree0 Disagree0

N2 I agree and he better bring in youngsters bleed them for the championship but reading your post made me think remember he learned from walter smith and not rotating team cost walter the 10 in a row

Agree0 Disagree0

N4, we should be getting behind them instead of crucifying every slack pass. We all want the youngsters to play but how do you think 16, 17 and 18 year olds will cope with getting slaughtered from the fans for every mistake. In my opinion black shouldn't be getting game, he's not good enough. I didn't say we should stick with the same 11 and not make changes, il still support black when he's on the park. There really was no point to your reply was there?

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought on sat in first half we played some of our best football for a while moved the ball well if we had gone in 6-0 up no one could have complained but some great saves four I counted and a bit of bad finishing let us down second half we lost our way crazy sending off didn't help us at all as for Templeton to say he was our best player sorry can't see it he is not strong enough gives the ball away to often plays in bursts don't get me wrong he has the skills but does not do it often enough thought the right back Faure played better i'm not a fan of his, law is starting to get back to his best Black well he just struts around with a scowel on his face he was good at te start of season but is way back to the moody watch me player as for thi blood youg players we just don't have enough young players ready to play week in week out they all left and if we had played a lot of young players up til now and lost game the same people who are shouting for them now would be shouting at them on the park i'm not convinced on Ally but I know he has had his hands tied with bringing in players he has had to take who he can get on free transfers and the club has had to pay over the odds to get players to drop down leagues so we have this league in the bag and will be in the championship next year but we must win that at all costs and playing loads of 16 17 18 year olds won't win it as for the cup we have no chance of winning that we don't want to draw one of the to four in the top league so all in all I will accept where we are we must get back into that top league then we must invest in the team you all go on about blooding young players how many in the top league play lots o young home grown talent and are successfull look at Dundee utd its in bursts and Rangers fans would not accept their team sitting in mid table remember we have no scouting system they were all sacked so before we can get top young players we need a top scouting system

Hi Eds My boy is now in Glasgow so I got a him a season ticket for remaining games.
The quality of football he has seen so far is total dross
This could have been the best chance to grow and develope a young and Rangers Loyal Squad.
We really do need a change of direction.

I've always given tremendous backing to all rangers managers during my 36+ years being a rangers season ticket holder, my point here is that our manager ally mccoist might not be the greatest manager in our illustrious history but I'm prepared to continue to back him at least until we're back in the big league & even then I'm prepared to give him a couple of years to challenge celtic because it will take time to mount a challenge to them, his tactics do baffle me ie. playing lewis mcleod wide left when he's most definitely a centre mid, faure at rb that's a no, no, playing nicky law directly beside ian black etc, taking temps off yesterday when he was our best player baffled the full stadium, temps if fully fit should always be in the rangers starting 11, mccoist will always be a legend in my eyes but if he doesn't get close to them within 2 years back in the big league he should be changed and there is only 1 man who should become the next rangers manager, wee billy davies & we all know he would take the job, he always says it's his burning ambition to be manager of his beloved rangers, billy davies in my opinion is a fabulous manager if your not sure fellow 'gers fans take a look at the wee man's cv, what do you think 'gers fans?BIG RAM!

Derek McInnes has to be manager of the Year in Scotland so far this season and he would undoubtedly get us playing much more effective and entertaining football than Ally ever could if he was in charge at Ibrox.

I would still say we have the second best squad of players in the country but if we drew Aberdeen in the cup home or away I'd fear the worst.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 1 I disagree we have the second most expensive squad but the current Aberdeen team would finish well ahead of us plus in McInnes they have a clever young manager. If we get past Dunfermline I agree our worst draw would be Aberdeen at Pittodrie because some bears would actually expect us to win and it could be brutal.

On the other hand I have seen previous Rangers teams over the decades hit a less than purple patch if they felt the league was already won and only raise their game for a "bigger" challenge e.g Dunfermline at East End Park which was a really decent game and performance.
This less than entertaining patch has however lasted 2 years with very few exceptions.

However on balance it is probably best to look forward to next season hoping for some pattern and shape and confidence developing in the team as at this point we would be bottom six at the very best in the SPL

Banter, not rumour. It does seem that recent performances have been a struggle but we've still 22 wins out of 23 with one draw. Surely this squad can win this league and the Championship then strengthen significantly for the top league? I don't know why McCoist persists in playing the like of Black, Aird and Faure. I understand McLeod is injured otherwise he'd be first pick. Why not recall Barrie McKay from loan? Clark & Daly should be first choice strikers (again don't know if Clark is injured). Also, why not Gasparotto, Crawford, Templeton, Hutton & Hegarty on a regular basis?
If possible, I'd rather see Ally go at the end of this season with Big Tel or Billy Davies new boss next season. God help us if we get to the Scottish Cup quarter finals and draw Celtic, Aberdeen or Dundee United!

One of the worst decisions ever made by a Rangers manager? Selling Ross McCormack. Was it McLiesh, Le Guen or Smith?.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have a lot more to worry about than this, no rangers fan at the time thought he was good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eck had been playing him a bit and he scored against Porto.
Then Le Guen came in and didn't renew his contract.
Good player. Meant to be a Celtic fan though.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would have walked away with the rest of the oldco players

Agree0 Disagree0

Meant to be a Celtic fan, so what? I can't think of any player who would deliberately leapordise the chances of the club they play for (recent players in England excepted).
I know plenty of Celtic fans who would have take McCoist in a heartbeat. anyway, it is what it is.

Couldn't make game so in a bit confused here the three posts below seem to suggest we were rank rotten yet when I read the papers they say we were rampant with 79% of the play and 29 shots at goal until big billy walked, footballs all about opinions but to be that far apart come on

If you had been there you would understand, IT WAS WOEFUL.

R. f - I watched the game live on RTV
we played well in the first half and were even passing the ball around, we were never in any trouble and we should have gone in at HT 4 or 5 - 0 up but due to a combination of some good goalkeeping and poor finishing we only scored 2
Second half we came out with too casual an attitude again! Brechin did score a screamer that not many keepers would have stopped,
when big billy got himself stupidly sent off there was a bit of panic set in and the crowd were getting frustrated,
saying that though we were still missing good chances to put the game to bed, one in particular when temps had an open goal from about 8 yards and sent it into the copland rd
overall poor finishing and a stupid sending off put us under needless pressure, if we had taken half our chances it could have been 10-1
The game will be available on rtv if you want to take a look for yourself
