Fellow bears we all agree signing a striker is a massive priority. Over the last few weeks we've been linked with a helluva lot of strikers, some really good, some good and some not bad. So ED, would you be so kind to run a poll for me on this critical subject for us bears, just to gauge amongst us all which striker we'd prefer gerrard to sign? The poll reading which striker would you prefer rangers to sign ie. Ivan Toney, Karlan Grant,
Lyle Taylor, Josh Maja, Mirko Maric,

Yes we won and three points was always the main aim, but although we controlled the game all it would’ve taken was a stroke of luck for Aberdeen to have gained a point. For example, the scramble from their corner when Balogun clashed with post could’ve been avoided if McGregor dealt with the cross. That ball could’ve ended up in our net. We need to be much more clinical when we’re on top rather than just controlling and managing the game, we won’t be able to keep clean sheets all season.

I believe our first 5 or 6 games will determine our fate for this season guys.

I posted we would be behind on goal difference because we could only score once in our first game and got suggestions I was a timco fan .

We are now already down 4 goals on timco after just one game so I shudder to think how many it will be after 6 games if we manage to even keep level points wi timco.

That's if we keep winning cause they won't be beaten or even draw with any other SPFL club apart from us that is.

So those of you who slagged me for saying goal difference after one game is irreverent , think again once your behind you are playing catchup regardless of how many games have been played.

By the way I have been going to all our home games and as many near home games as possible wi my Dad since I was ten.

So please realise it is bitter disappointment wi our club that has turned me sceltical of our chances to topple the timco mob.

If I am the only supporter with these doubts fair enough but I will continue to live in hope till the bitter end results this season and the rest to come.

Rangers played Aberdeen away from Home and won. didn't concede any goals either.
Celtic played a Hamilton team at home who are filled with young boys and won.
I know which result i would be happier with the Gers any day.

If we don’t get a big striker in to give us a plan B it won’t be Celtic that’s dropping points. Some games we need 2 out and out strikers, not 1 and 2 number 10’s. However, given his footballing knowledge and experience just edging mine I’m sure SG is fully aware so fear not and fingers crossed the signings will come.

But hey I’m here now

I watched there game today - it was Hamilton they were playing but they definitely have pace in all areas of the field

And they have a bigger squad than us and unfortunately eduard looked in top form and the whole game was a bit of a stroll for them to be honest

I do think as the season goes on they will hopefully drop points But as some have said it won’t be many

Anyway forget about them for a moment

Gerrard really has a very big season ahead and who ever he has planned to try get to come through the doors they have to be players who are better than what’s here just now and can go into 1st 11 and improve us straight away otherwise I feel it will be a waste of our money and time

They unfortunately have had a settled team for a while now and pretty much a settled management team when Rodgers left Lennon slotted straight back in and knew the club inside out

Gerrard should now know more about our league or club what the fans expect and what his job now is

With all that in mind he really should be looking for the most talented players we can buy that will help us bridge that gap and hopefully over come them

One or two on here has said they expect Celtic to get 10
And I said that’s not what we should expect at all

But possibly I need to take of the blue tints look at the bigger picture and possibly accept they might and possibly do have a much stronger side than we currently have

And by the way that kills me to say that it really does but we’re still rebuilding and it’s possibly going to take longer than I had hoped for

Our team though can not afford slip ups this season the silly slip ups and we can’t afford for players to let there head drop either the year
If we can do them things we might be able to at the very least take them to the wire

This post is not about defeat at the 1st hurdle bu the way
It’s taking a step back and listening to my fellow supporters and realising possibly we all want things to happen quicker then they can

Win our games let them worry about themselves

Gerrard needs more quality in the door though suppose it all ldlends who wants to come who our scouts have identified and how much spending power we have.

I thought there first goal shouldn't have stood. Thought elyonoussu fouled the full back by clipping him as he runs across him. Hamilton also missed a couple of free headers first half they should have scored with. Therecdefence looked shaky and there to be got at.

So both nearing peak age, scoring goals most weeks with good average consistency last season, untried in a top league and both available for a reasonable budget. Shankland v Toney which one?

I would get behind/ back fully any player gerrard signed whether it would be my own personal preference or not. So if we signed either/ or ivan toney or lawrence shankland i'd back both fully. If i had to pick my preference then undoubtedly in my eyes i'd pick ivan toney, as he's done it in a tougher league and from what i've already seen of him, he's a very good striker 👌 Shankland is also a good striker.

I'm no sure if its shankland or not that we are getting, and on here he's getting made out to be a very poor and unpopular choice, I never ever watch other Scottish teams so I did the criminal thing of checking out his goals on YouTube to see why everyone was so disappointed. I'm going to have to disagree with most of you in that yeah YouTube makes most players look good, but I was more interested in what sort of goals he was scoring. It was mostly nice finishes and headers, skinning cbs in the box just clever strikers play improvisation etc. that's perfect for our playing style or against the teams we play and tactics they employ of parking the bus so I would be happy with him signing I would go even as far as saying watching some his goals there's a touch of mols about him the turns and his movement please don't think I'm saying he's as good as Mols was, but similar at times! Ps before tearing me to bits on this watch some clips of Mols goals and Shanklands.

Disagreed with coldo on a few things here dava, and as coldo will tell u am a big fan of morelos and stuck up for him at every turn, BUT it's quite clear as day he's definitely a few pounds over, looking unfit and disinterested, think it's definitely best for club and player that we move on.

Should the move for any reason not happen I hope he gets his head right, his fitness back and the will to play for rangers again, I'll support him 100%.

Its 4-3-3 with both kent and hagi playing narrow, ie.2 no.10's supporting the striker with both tav and barisic high up the pitch supplying our width! Hope hamilton park the bus and avoid humiliation and save us going behind in goal difference after just one game.

Again against teams that park the bus we need that target man to give us something different. We tried to play through them yesterday and with the exception of the goal it wasn't working. Plenty possession and side to side passing but as you said we created very little chances. a target man in a 2 up top is what we need against park the bus teams👍.

Keeping the ball and passing the park the bus teams off the park graddually opens them up as mistakes are inevitable. One small problem I had with yesterday is that I feel, my opinion only, that we pass it around our 18 yard box far too much, if you get caught out late on in a game, you have no time to recover.

Was just reflecting on yesterday's game and tbh I cannot understand some of the negativity surrounding the result/ performance. We went to a venue where we have had some recent struggles and for me were fully deserving the victory. I will always accept that result from there and not too long ago we were leaving there with our tail between our legs having dropped two points behind after one game.

I remember Sir Walters team going up there and coming away with a hard fought win for it to be deemed a tactical masterclass.

Two areas of the team I was particularly encouraged by was the centre back partnership and the partnership in centre midfield. I have never really saw what others saw in Kamara but yesterday I thought his energy was terrific and I will gladly put my hands up to being wrong, wouldn't be the first.

I think we need to sort out the striker position as soon as possible, the last thing we need is to get into a groove and then have the full team disrupted in what is a critical area.

There wasn't really any negatives yesterday cam, I thought morelos looked a yard off it and was honking compared to his own standards but it is early days and the sharpness will come, however great assist and awareness for kent. I agree we looked solid in the central position's, early days but I can't remember the last time I saw a cb casually stroll a game the way balogun did. I thought kamara and aribo were excellent. Hagi tried to be too clever at times. But as performances at pittodrie go we can't have too many complaints. 👍.

Coldo he is an easy target, 68 touché, 52 passes. Most fouled player on pitch, so can’t be all bad is all I’m saying coldo.
I keep hearing one off our described as overweight, fat, lazy, useless, uninterested.
Whilst in a gers top I will continue to support him.
Also others say he is coming to deep.
Our manager yesterday said Alf was good, doing as instructed, coming deep, help load the midfield.
So it’s obviously what SG wants Alf to do in certain games.

Geesa he looked nothing like a 17mil player yesterday or half the player he was the first half of last season. I don't need to ask anyone, based on yesterday we'd be lucky to get 5mil for him. It is early day's and he will regain his sharpness but you can't honestly tell me that gerrard is happy with him 😂😂, he looked month's behind the rest of the team. 👍.

Watching a podcast from a supporter of Amiens and he said the zunga can play at the highest level for the next few years and his performances against PSG and Monaco etc have been impressive and he’s improved as a footballer over the last few years and definitely thinks he has what it takes to succeed at the top

My observations from yesterday. Tavernier gave the ball away too often and was disappointing. He is still a defensive weak link. Balogun was impressive as were Jack, Aribo and Kent. Jury's out on Kamara and Goldson. Presumably SG will mix it up for Thursday's European game. We have to home league games to come against St Mirren and St Johnstone so surely 9 points from 3 games is achievable and would be a solid start. Early days but 5 wins out of 5 and no goals conceded isn't bad!

My observations from yesterday. The whole defence was solid, Aberdeen were never likely to score so full marks for every defender.

I think with regard to Thursday's game all we can hope for is a respectable score and a good performance as the likelihood of scoring 3 goals without loss over there is pretty remote! We can then concentrate on the next two league games.
