Heard some guy on SSB phone in last night state that his supporters group are having player of the year party and that he had contacted Rangers in order to try and get a player or two along to the bash. He said he was finding this difficult to arrange, but said one player offered to come along if he was paid 500 quid, he refused to name the player in question, if this is infact a true situation the player in question should be ashamed of himself and be named and shammed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I can relate to that it was arranged for steven naismith to come to local club player of the year do despite living very close never turned up never answered his phone never offered an apology nothing then showed his true colours when he led the way for the exodus south firdt class plonker

Agree0 Disagree0

£500, for a player to show up at a supporters player of the year party, reasonable considering some of them don't even show up on match days for £7000 a week.
then there`s the fuel for the Bentley and the cost of a five star hotel for a overnight stay.
God forbid these guys should have to mingle with the people who pay for their wages, for nought.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 wouldn't have expected anything less of Naismith. You could tell what he thought of the fans when he walked out on the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're trawling the bottom feeders here. Give it a break and leave Naismith alone. He's a top class player, a Rangers fan and a family to support.

This is a great forum to let off steam but for crying out loud, keep it reasonable.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 no matter how you try and dress it up Naismith did the dirty on the club and don't give us this crap about family to support. No one expected Naismith to stay at the club but could have signed over with a stipulation that he went for a certain amount. Even £500k would have seen him get his move and Rangers get some cash. Naismith chose not to do this and even had the audacity to hold a press conference and declare Rangers dead and that he had no obligation to the new company. Is that the comments of a Rangers fan? It's no worse than what Jim Spence has said and he was slated by the Rangers support

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would really have got to keep any transfer funds generated from the sale of the guys who left? not for team use anyway and the ones who left knew that, I would have done the same if I knew what they did.
jammydodger

Agree0 Disagree0

Naismith he is no gent he started the movement that to acept defered wages they would be allowed to leave in the summer on free transfers he never even had the decency to phone to say he wasnt coming countless kids standing at the door waiting his autograph it he did no give 2 fffcs for the guys that paid his wages or the club who twice when he was injured long term paid his wages total plonker and u say leave him alone

Agree0 Disagree0

The money would surely have gone into the creditors pot, but in reality would have gone into duff & phelps pockets

Agree0 Disagree0

OP, unfortunately with a lot of these characters, money is their sole motivation. However, many past and present players have done a hell of a lot, with very little publicity.
Also, Ally and his coaching back-up have done a lot for fans and friends in their time of need.
I am a critic of Ally as our manager, but as an ambassador of the club there are few better.
To jammydodger, I don't think the usage of the funds were in their thoughts, but I totally agree that the money would have been sifted from the coffers just as many millions have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stewie your spot on we can only hope what goes round comes around my thoughts are he is a total person and should never be allowed back inside ibrox or murray park never mind hall of fame when u think about I he is almost as bad as whyte

Agree0 Disagree0

Ibj d

Good post mate 100% agree with u. Him and the other pretend Rangers fans that left should never be allowed back at Rangers and they are just as bad as Whyte and Murray

Agree0 Disagree0

@11) I would put McCoist at the top of that list of so called fans I just wish he had left but no chance of that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see what Naismith did wrong, he took a huge wage cut to try and give the club some breathing space and then when it all went wrong he didn't want any part of it because they no doubt were offering him a tiny percentage of what he was on. When asked he told the truth, can hardly condemn a man for that, think you guys need to get over it and realise that the days of playing for love of the jersey are long gone, trust me, one month without wages and all of your current stars would be off!

Agree0 Disagree0

It's wasn't a simple as that. Not wanting to have a go at the players for taking the wage cut however as in the case of Greg Wylde he left the club and signed signed for Bolton who then couldn't register him to play the remainder of the season. If the players had left they could have been in the same situation and would have no club and no income. Even with the wage cut they were still getting money which is better than nothing. As for getting a tiny percentage to sign on this wasn't the case. As I have stated before no one expected them to stay however they could have signed over with clauses in their contracts that they could go for a certain amount. Now maybe the transfer fee wouldn't have helped the club but at that time no one was sure. The players chose to leave and to hell with the fans and the club. Naismith in particular owed the club this much as twice the club had helped him through 2 major injuries 1 of which was down to his own fault.

N14 well in stewie my thoughts exactly

People below talk about systems and how McCoist has'ntt got any well I've seen him play 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1, 4-3-3 and the football on display has still been bad, has anyone ever thought maybe its the squad we have who can only play one way and that's lump the ball into the box as quick as possible
r. f

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And who is reponsible for the squad? I think your comment is wrong anyway. The Albion game proves that. Tactic 1 - High ball to Daly. Tactic 2 - High ball to Moshni. McCcoist is responsible for this. If the players can't play the way they are instructed then why are they there? The guy has no eye for tactics or potential players. Boyd and Miller back up front for next season? Absolute joke!

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if you were correct, count how many of them he signed, always someone trying to make Ally look ok as a manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 1&2 of course he signed the players as he had no other options to sign out of contract players barring temps. and I did say high ball as that's how these players play. let's face it we don't have any flair players anymore
r. f

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a massive difference between telling 11 players where to stand and "playing a system".

Agree0 Disagree0

@ OP McCoist played 4-3-3? could you tell me what game that was I missed that one?

Surprised no one mentioned the Clubs fan engagement survey.

Over 35,000 replied
The biggest single result was the fans overwhelming felt they did not have a loud enough voice and wanted a review of how the club engages with the fans.

80% thought a membership scheme was a way forward.

And for the Super Ally fans the top 2 of THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THE CLUB- according to the 35,000 plus fans

1 On-pitch performance
2 Youth development

Mr McCoist and your disciples on here please note the people have spoken.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nbear the people have been speaking for a while now still nobody listening

Agree0 Disagree0

And how many times has McCoist said its unbelievable that Rangers don't have a youth development & scouting system in place
r. f

Agree0 Disagree0

Derek McIness has assembled a squad of players for less than McCoist. Has a team that can beat Celtic and dooesn't rely on a big high punt up the field to do it. Regardless of a scouting system, McCoist doesn't seem to have an eye for a player and the ones he does get seem to go backwards under him - Law and Templeton are prime examples of this

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 7 WHIT???? AUCHENHOWIE??? MCCOIST, DURRANT AND MCDOWELL 4 X 90 MINUTES WATCHING ANDY ROBERTSON

Do you read what you post?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why didn't Ally use Durrant as a scout? Doesn't look like he does much but gets well paid for it. Ally just as culpable as anyone at club for lack of scouting system and anyway would you encourage a young player to Ibrox with him in charge? Players go back under him not forward

I hope the club and SFA take Kayal to to task over his comments in todays Metro in which he expresses his dislike of Lee McCulloch and alleges McCulloch deliberatly injured him in their first old firm game. If this had been the case Lee would have been sent off or charged by the sfa however he was not and Kayal's comments are without foundation, slanderous and bring the game in to disrepute.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The unofficial s f a supremo from the east end won't allow that to happen

Think he must have been saving that one up until Rangers have a couple of big games and then putting it out there in the hope that referees have it in the back off their minds whenever Jig is involved in any kind of debatable tackle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Debatable tackle. it should be a national holiday when one of his tackles isn't debatable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jig was booked at time so no further action can be taken. As much as u seem to want him punished this would open a can of worms as far as some stupid statements from Ally is concerned. Who can forget his demand to know the names of the 3 man board that put them all in danger when in fact he already knew. Remember be careful what u wish for it just might come true

Agree0 Disagree0

Liewell will be raging first Griffiths with stupid stupid chanting now kayal with stupid comment still nothing surprises me

Agree0 Disagree0

The lad has obviously not seen his manager on You Tube standing on a players head. It actually features in a 10 dirtiest players video.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kayal knows he is going of the numbers at parkhead I think his comment was kayal offering an excuse for not getting a game his manager obviously doesn't think he is good enough or he would have played him

Agree0 Disagree0

@tmwnn. Spot on!

Had to be April fools day yesterday one of my mates told me that Russia had nuked Ukraine, also that the independence vote was looking to win by a shock 75% and that David Cameron was refunding all the oil revenue to Scotland backdated 30 years. it was only when he added that Pep Guardiola had said he rated Ally McCoist as a manager that I realised he was totally taking the piss

Not been posting in a long time just been praying we stay afloat and Mr King takes control with a fan share buyout

However did read one astute post by billy b it summed up the Ally argument once and for all

"key to a good player he can operate well in a managed system, a very good player can shine in a system and a great player shows his class in a system. without a system you will only get flashes of the above.
This is why organised teams give Allys team hard games as there is no system in place whatsoever and no ability to adapt whatever if any instructions are given to the players.

That was the gist of it and I couldn't agree more.

We love Ally of the past the player, but he is not managerial material, the poll on other page sums it up too 70/80% agree on this

I really hope we do get up next year to SPFL but sadly I think we might struggle against some decent opposition, then maybe we may get a manager if we can tempt McInnes away from Aberdeen with the return of Rangers to the top of Scottish football and stoping cfc running away with league titles

Hope you all bearing up through the wimbledon football and yet more boardroom wimbledon yours in RTID. george
