If you play just one game or even just a 2 minute sub appearance for a club then you are cup tied for the rest of the competition, that's the way it has always worked before, so Yes Walker would be Cup tied for the remainder of the Betfred Cup if he joined us or any other Scottish Club.

Looking at the squad it is worrying me that we don't have a back up centre half who is anywhere near good enough to step in.
Wilson has been very poor and cannot be relied upon. reminding us of this with his horrific efforts against Marseille as his sloppy marking conceded the goal. His fitness is always terrible as well. Young Bates is a decent prospect but I think he will be loaned out. Adding someone with experience who isn't fond of adding to the comedy blooper DVD would be nice. I. e not Philip Senderos, Rob Kiernan, Emilson Cribari etc.

Back up centre half is the least of our problems and your assessment of Wilson is 3 yards offside. He's a good player and was carrying injuries for much of last season. The problem with a lot of posts is that some players can do no wrong and others can do no right. A defender can make one mistake which leads to a goal and he's red flagged here. A forward can miss half a dozen goal scoring opportunities, give the ball away in midfield with a shocking pass and it's never mentioned. We need creativity to replace McKay and hopefully that's Walker and as I've said a dozen times, Miller is a number 9 from the bench. His midfield play and passing doesn't pass the test.

Clint Hill would be a perfect back up CB if he is still a free agent and his wage demands weren't too high. Better than Bates and Wilson even at the age of 38.

Unfortunately kfraser if the defence ship goals as they did last season, the teams constantly on the back foot and face an uphill struggle to get back in games as we saw last season. Injury to Alves or Cardoso and we have a problem. Also I am not red flagging him after one mistake. Anyone who watches the team every week will agree Wilson is a repeat offender. I thought he would be a good signing when he resigned from Hearts, but for 2 seasons now he has been poor.

Think Wilson will come good the lad did show potential at the start of his career so much that he got caps and his big move and I don't think you can lose that. He does play much better next to a established CH tho

IMO we have 2 good CH's and yeah I agree that Wilson and Bates need to produce when asked. But this csn only come with games over time. Pedro must utilise Wilson and Bates for certain games. No way can or should we put Alves into every game! Certain games where we know the oppositions play in the final third is weaker than others. Games against Accies, County, Thistle at Ibrox should be used for Cardoso and Wilson. There is no other options, these teams away too, I am concerned about INJURYS to our back line and its maybe worth bringing back Hill for cover and hw would not cost much re: wages.
Surely Pedro can see this and will not gamble being in this precise situation!

If the shock exit story turns out to be true I have a feeling it will be Foderingham with Forest the most likely destination, if whatvdoes turn out to be the case do we sign a keeper as back up to Alnwick or sign a keeper who will be bought in to be No1 choice?

Our captain or Miller going would be a shock but I really can't see that happening. Wallace has been named captain and Miller has been told he will be involved within youth coaching set up next year.
This all sounds like bull to me .
