How is the club managing to pay off the guys being shown the door? Buy out their contracts and finance all the new blood turning up together with the high salary guys staying?
Then there's the £500k basic to CEO alone. Rumoured McCoist is on about a million plus chairman Smith and the others plus 260 employees.
The season tickets were about half price last year and frozen for this season. Is the club surfing operating costs on the share issue? The disaster was all about money and until accounts are issued fans must be apprehensive.
Beating fourth tier Albion rovers part time guys isn't something to be excited about.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It will all become clear when Green sells his shares.

Agree0 Disagree0

How much is Jabba on? The really smart guy who recently invested said he would keep being a pain in the a*se. And that directors were being hugely over remunerated for the business size and condition. How much is Smith on? How much is Easdale on?

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is jabba?

Agree0 Disagree0

Think scottish football would struggle to recover from another insolvency event down govan way but can't help think its heading that way. Hope some real football minded buisness men get Green and co out come December. Does anyone know how many employees have been gotten rid of to bring costs down so far

This is a plea to our manager ally mccoist from a season ticket holder of over 30 years, ally, if your hell bent in signing another striker then forget sidibe the guy we've got on trial and go and get the wee striker who's under your nose, nacho novo, for me it's a no brainer, novo knows the expectations at rangers inside out and has been there and got the t shirt there is no risk whatsoever in giving novo a 1 year deal with a further year option, for the record the algerian winger bouazza who's on trial is a good player but sidibe's scoring record is very poor and o wouldn't touch him, I really hope & think we should sign Craig Gordon and bosnian centre half boris pandza, what do you think of this fellow gers fans? BIG RAM!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Jul 2013 00:18:40
Im not sure about nacho i'm 50/50 but what I will admit like a lor of Gers fans I have a huge soft spot for him. I mean the reception the wee man got on sunday INCREDIBLE! BIG RAM, I agree I would like to sign pandza two for a solid back line a give us a great spine to our team along with the other boys we have signed, what u think about sidebe and bouazzza? Sidebe especially is a no go for me like, have u seen the guys injury record!

Agree0 Disagree0

Let the "Wee Desperado" into the "Big Hoose" cause it's embarrassing to watch!

Agree0 Disagree0

He could, nt get 90 mins when he was younger. and when will jigs legs go. no sorry no

If we need a striker let's bring back NOVO, a true blue through and through, he knows all about the club and he's loved by the fans.

Skye Blue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lets not bring novo back, he's past his best and even then, his best wasn't good enough.
Novo is murder, never good enough and not better than what we already have.
I say no thanks to the man who said no thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on nacho your getting a bit desperate now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hear hear

Agree0 Disagree0

Novo is minse always has been 1 goal every 5 game's. give clark and daily a chance with the young boys as cover
. steveblue

Agree0 Disagree0

Not for me had his day mate

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks.

We'e moe than well enough equipped in that depatment.

Anyway, didn't Nacho claim he would play for nothing last year & he still wasn't deemed good enough so what would he bing a year later and older to a far better squad?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2013 22:25:34
@OP: so your reasons for bringing him back are that he knows the club and is loved by the fans? Who's next? Gough? Hately? Derek Johnstone?!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2013 22:35:41
7) Why sign Novo cause he turned up to the game? I was at the Albion game does that mean I should be signed?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ideal. Bring him back. HH JOE

Opinions on our trialists Sidibie and Bouazza?

I think Bouazza is half decent, however, I do not rate Sidibie and think he would be a waste on the wage bill.

EDs? {Ed001's Note - not sure on either, whenever I have watched them play, both have looked poor. Admittedly Sidibe has struggled with long term injury issues, but he doesn't look like he is ever going to get back to his best. Bouazza I have just never seen anything special about. I would think, if the style of play was suited to them, they would be more than good enough to return to the top flight, but I just don't see a need for them. I just think Rangers need to be looking to give more youth players a chance, rather than bringing in players for a short term boost.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said ED totally agree give youth their chance. MacAusland and Gallacher certainly didn't let us down yesterday. Like somebody on the Rangers Standard recently wrote why didn't Gallacher not play in the last 5 games last year when the league was won? Ally on giving a reason for loaning him out is his lack of first team games -doh! Gasparato should be ahead of Cribari and McLeod will prosper under Law's guidance. Wee Barry is the biggest concern- will he get another chance with the extra options in midfield/attack this year? I hope so- real potential in the wee man.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are we even considering these journeymen? Possibly neither have had a decent per season, neither wil have any knowledge or passion for our club and both will want a decent wedge with no real desire to set the heather alight if they are on the bench week in week out. Just a thought but why are we not even considering Boyd? If Killie can afford his wages we certainly can, he knows the set up, loves the club and would probably break world goal scoring records with the service he would get in self 2 then 1. Thoughts?. WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with the ED give the young players their chance to many has beens just looking for a wage. steveblue

Agree0 Disagree0

Our last 2 friendlies are in between competative games so I don't think we should be messing about and trying even more trailists both players are too old anyway could see them getting signed if they do well against newcastle hope not though

Agree0 Disagree0

McCoist has been on a winning streak with his 8 signings and now's not the time to get silly and mess things up. We don't need to up the wage bill with recruiting foreign players past their sell by date nor prevent opportunities for our youth to stake a place. I'm 100% with the OP and Ed on this one.

I see all the comments against Nacho Novo and I've got to say I disagree with them.

We have:

Daly
Little
Clark
McCulloch

The top two will play most weeks, Clark needs 20+ games and McCulloch will cover daly.

2 Options:

Sign somebody decent who will want to play most weeks or sign somebody older who is happy to act as cover?

Novo is past his best but he'll act as cover and if the game go's staill on a cold Decembers night, Novo would give us a lift when he comes on!

Hameur Bouazza and Mamady Sidibe both coming on trial at Ibrox. McCoist has confirmed and commented on this today.

Putting to bed for the time being the other mince about Adam Rooney, Ricardo Fuller and the even bigger porky about Leigh Griffiths who has just been given the number 9 shirt at Wolves. Hibs were told not for sale 6 weeks ago aswell so pure fantasy.

Bouazza is a dumpling and Sidibe at 33 has amassed an incredible 48 goals in 355 games. 1 in 7 ratio.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bouazza has always had positive reviews down south. Bit harsh saying he is a dumpling. I do remember us being linked with him once before.

Sidibe on the other hand is the wrong way to go.

Gblue

Agree0 Disagree0

@1) Mate, i'm not being harsh honestly Bouazza is a dumplin. He had his one and only good season at Watford when they were in the Prem, and how long ago was that? Fulham signed him on the back of that for 3 million and ever since he has got worse and worse. They loaned him out twice and after they freed him to go to Sivaspor he lasted 5 DAYS there before changing his mind and mutually terminating his contract. 5 clubs since then and played for 12 in all. He isn't even a striker which I thought we were looking for, he plays on the left.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2013 22:46:37
2) So what griffiths has been giving the number 9 shirt at wolves, it still dosent take away the fact he only has a year left in his contract, if they don't sell in january then they will receive no money for him in the summer but like I've said unless player or clubs change there mind the fee and terms with rangers have already been agreed!

Not a rumour just more of a point. Was nice to see us score from a corner all be it a quick one but set pieces were terrible last season. Whilst on set pieces why do they insist on doing that tippy tally free kick where black rolls it to the other guy who stops it then jig runs up and batters it into the wall. It never worked all last season and again it didn't work today it's a terrible set piece they insist on doing every game just about

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would give the free-kick duties to Nicky Law.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leave the £7k a week "Midfield General" with the dead ball duties cause it just let's the whole of Scotland see how mince and overated he is!

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 over rated? I don't even rate the guy! He is absolute keek, oh there I go I just rated him! He is keek!

Not a cheep about the pyrotechnics yesterday? There was a lot of comment about your east end neighbours' use of them and they were rightly condemned by most. Usually ignited by children with short attention spans who are there for the party, not for the football. The authorities must bear their share of responsibility as they see fit to display this behaviour at high profile football occasions (internationals, CL final, etc) but maybe they use a different kind of smoke. But they then feign indignation and punish fans of clubs who follow their lead. Hypocrisy or what?

I love how a club gets linked with some random player from some obscure country in Europe and all of a sudden everyone on these pages is an expert on the player, preaching about how great they are and how they would be a top signing.

We all know the reality is most people have never heard of said player and they certainly ain't got a clue if they're any good or not!

Not aimed at RFC fans btw just an observation regarding most of the pages on here lol. It makes me laugh.

Ex stoke city striker Mamady Sidibe training with Rangers with a view to win a permanent contract!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope not, silky African players is the last thing we need for the 2nd division.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sidibe is by no means a "silky" player he is a big target man who used to be the focus of Rory delaps long throws for Stoke and as a fan living in england I've seen (or had seen as I didn't realise he was still playing ) quite a bit of him. He's pretty dam bad! Would be just like kevin Kyle probably.

Is anyone having problems with watching the vids on the rangers website seems I only get to see 1 second of black screen {Ed001's Note - it might be your browser lacking the codec to play the vids. If you are on a Windows PC, I would suggest getting VLC player, that includes almost every codec possible, and is free.}

Everyone on here shouting about strikers, we don't need strikers, we need a defender, we've got a decent strike force, 2 more commanding centre half, should see us threw this league.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Absolute rubbish, this league should be well covered with the existing squad. Any additional signings should be for the future.
If any good young players are available and are worth investment then fine, but we should continue with the development of our youths.
billyb

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree @1, if we attack teams like yesterday we won't need a defense because teams in 2nd division won't cope with our midfielders and forwards pushing them back, last 30 mins Albion players ran out of energy because they chased the ball so much, the high ball tactic ally used last year played right into the hands of 3rd division teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need at least one more striker if we're to compete in all cups this season, would like to see a younger Kenny miller type player with a bit of pace (not wee nacho), not sure if sidibe of stoke is the way to go if the rumours are true but we do need another striker and probably more importantly at least another central defender. The problem ally has got is us fans want him to play the young lads who just aren't ready (not all at the same time anyway)

I have said that I think we will see a much improved Ian Black this year, but please stop saying how good he was yesterday. He was f*cking rank. Gave the ball away needlessly countless times, his delivery from set pieces is shocking and he still acts with no class. Saved himself with the goal, so let's be honest at least.

McCulloch, Law & Daly were the best three players on the pitch.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think we will see Ian black enough this season when everyone can play he should be nowhere near our first 11, I counted at least 6 or 7 loose passes yesterday including a 5 yard pass with no Albion player near him, I really don't know what game people on here were watching to say he had a good game.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we must have been watching different games, we were watching Rangers v Albion Rovers and Ian Black was excellent!

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought he done well mate all about opinions on here don't make u right n others wrong I actually thought daly done hee haw so there u go just how others see it

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought lewis mcleod looked excellent yet again didn't do anything spectacular but always looking for the ball and don't remember him wasting a pass defo the biggest plus point of the last 12/18 months if we had kept Davis Ness mccabe ect would we have even seen mcleod in the 1st team?tambo88

Agree0 Disagree0

I do think he is a decent player, always impressed me in games against us over the years. I just don't see how anyone wathing yesterday can say he had a good game. He covered a lot of ground as expected, but his use of the ball was shocking.

As for the guy who said Daly done nothing, are you serious? He set up two of the goals for a start. The way he held the ball up and brought others in to the play was excellent. Not sure what you're expecting him to bring to the team to be honest if you thought he dome nothing yesterday.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually thought daly did hee haw all game as well and black not too bad jammydodger

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 you clearly know nothing about football, Daly's movement and work rate was excellent, it created space for the midfielders to run into this was 1 of the main problems last season as sandaza, Kyle etc couldn't do this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish ally would stop black taking our free kicks and corners, don't think I've seen him beat the 1st man once since he's joined us!

Agree0 Disagree0

Daly had 2 assists did he not and brought others into play. Thought Black had a good game alongside Law.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Lee Wallace who was absolutely brilliant getting 3 assist playing left back!

Agree0 Disagree0

At 7 away n geese peace every1 entitled to a opinion and if we don't agree wae u we nothin about football!i didn't think he played well and u did that's life am sure there's plenty who agree with me and plenty that will agree wae u its just how some folk see it!but if I need any advice on football u will be ma first person I turn to as your always right!i happen to think daly will be a great signing for us and was chuffed we got him!r u the op?

How can Wallace get 3 assists and daly get 2?

Glad to see some quality goals today and a bit more of the passing and attacking play we want to play next 2 years so we are hopfly a quality bonded together team. My main point I wanted to make was about the Fergie style DISGRACEFUL pressure Lennon has put on the boy Banguroot, the rules are crystal clear and Cltic actually f****d up not puting a clause in his contract. I really hope he sticks a couple of goals in and puts Celtic out the CL. Would be a pleasure to see him kick the water bottle again. Sadly I actually see his tactics paying off and also I feel they are too strong a team not to beat the Swedes. WATP her's to Sept 1st and first real strong Rangers team since they all deserted us. george

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If the malmo vs hibs result is anything to go by then the Swedish league is stronger then the Scottish league, Celtic will find this a very tough tie, p. s. what does bangura own Lennon and Celtic, Lennon never gave the guy a chance and couldn't wait to get him out the door at every transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are you bothered about Bangura? Or is it just a chance to kick Lennon you were looking for?

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on now George. Your team has a decent result yesterday and you're still obsessing about Neil Lennon? I didn't see him being lectured by the referee yesterday for his behaviour (or lack)on the touchline. Is your obvious hatred anything to do with him being a Catholic captain of the Northern Ireland football team or something less obvious? I doubt if you've ever met the man to form an opinion.

Paddy Malarkey

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh such bitter jealousy is typical of your wee club. JK

Agree0 Disagree0

'Real strong rangers team' I'd love to see your definition of strong op lol plus if you actually read into it you'd see lennon said bangura is only their for gametime, and still has a future at the club, why would he jeopardise that? Think before you post Mate, gandalf the green

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 if you believe Lennon about him having a future you are easily led, why is he always the 1st player Lennon tries to get out? He has no future and any normal minded person can see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 Funi Paddy actually met him at Gleneagles the year the trophy flew from there to Rangers after we beat the Arabs while you bottledit as usual, the amazing thing is my personal opinion of him was formed that day, a good sport and intelligent guy (i know you wouldn't think) I was his worst nightmare he was with Mjalby and meeting Jackie mcnamarra (spelling sori) for his birthday. All he got was me singing the Bluebells are blue EVERY time I wnt to the bar it was HEAVEN for me LENNON and we just won the League. that said I ended up buying him a few pints and he took it in good natured piss take it was. he would remember a I used a credit card I have from mycashplus with Keyser Sozee name on it he enjoyed his drinks paid for by a Usual Suspect. had a laugh with him and it was nice for me to see like tommy burns and peter grant whom I had met in Victorias years ago NOTHING like their on field persona nice intelligent guys. I hate celtic and did hate him but that day changed my opinion as he gave me one of my best nights ever singing the bluebells ALL night at him good sport. TRUE story if any tims that are constantly on here he would remember that night. WATP . george

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennon loaned him to Sedes no don't PLAY CLAUSE and he is putting pressure on to stop him playing would be funny he knocked you out, I never post about you lot ALWAYS about gers ONLY INTERESTED IN OUR SITE think been onyour site once in 2 years over last 2 years. this just really annoyed me. george

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 This is a strong team SINCE deserters left after liquidation the STRONGEST in all that time. obviously not compared to the 9 in a row team or the teams that have won 54 titles world record strength timmy. george

Agree0 Disagree0

George, I support the Mighty Jags and we don't do bottling-abject surrender and snatching a loss from the jaws of victory are more our forte. Is Martin Bain involved with rangers ed? Just that he was in browns restaurant just at princess square in glasgow on Friday afternoon {Ed001's Note - I don't know, though the rumour was that he dropped his case in return for involvement of some kind. He might just have been eating a meal though, people often do that in restaurants, even those not connected with football clubs.}
