I thought the game today was abysmal. I stopped watching midway through the 2nd half. this is my opinion. barker was brutal, hagi just as bad, taverner crosses and corners are appalling, kent was decent, roofe average but largely ineffective. we still need an attacking mid and a decent winger. our desire to win back the ball out if possession is great but what we do in possession is slow and predictable.

Ive been a critic of our manager but credit where its due. Great start to the season and no goals conceded. let's support the team and the manager and you never know we might just stop the ten. Lotalty and support go a long way.

Barker is a frustrates me something terrible, you know there`s a player in there but it just seems such a struggle for him to show.

I think Hagi is as slow as a week in jail, however in the box he is in my opinion what we are missing, he has a touch of class and is half a yard ahead of everyone else in there. Give him a run in getting into the box and supporting roofe, itten or morelos, there's goals there a plenty.

Roofe is absolutely a winger KJA9. That is where he has played most of his career. When he plays up front he is capable but not his natural position. I think he will turn out decent for us but he hasn't made a great start to his Rangers career. Ok his goal was well taken but any tine he touches the ball he tends to concede posession. I still support him, he shows great attitude and has shown he will fight for the Jersey.

Roofe looks like he’s not 100% but will get there. Very clever player and good movement should have scored but seemed a bit shocked barasic found him on a couple of occasions. He will learn from that 👍.

I wouldn’t call Roofe a winger he’s not a centre forward/ striker either. I think he needs to play upfront in a 2 and be aloud to drop off a target man or be a false wide player making late runs and cutting inside. definitely not a winger for me.

3 points is magic but the 2and half was mince, especially playing against 10 men. Tav still cannot cross a ball and kept wasting the ball. he's very good at that. Rangers would ne a far better team if they found a replacement for him, it's the same story with him every week. Does Tav pay Gerrard to play. Great chance to capitalize on 10 men and increase the goal difference. PS, I don't give a sxxt if you think I'm being negative, I'm actually just being honest.

Mental barker lasted 90 he was honkin. roofe wasnt far behind him. We strolled the game but looking to finish teams off . Steve Davis was brilliant today i thought.

Tbf stuck we played against 10 men for about 15 mins, although I do agree that the 2nd half was utter mince. But like it or not, tav is 1 of 4 defenders who have written their names in the history books for clean sheets in a row.

From what I’ve seen of Roofe so far he’s not the answer as main striker. I have no opinion on Itten yet other than his goal per game stats at st. Galen are very good, as with 3 in 2 for Switzerland. Think we need a main man or tell Alfie to buckle down and win himself a move next summer. I’d rather him away but I’m not overly confident of our attacking players so far other than Kent and Aribo.

KJA9 - I agree with some of your post. Roofe isn't an out and out striker but he has said that's where he wants to play. I wasn't too impressed with him today especially the 2 headers he missed. Thought he should have won us a pen but I think we all know unless it's an absolute stone waller, we ain't getting it. Hopefully when he is fully match sharp he will bang them in.
Early days for big Itten, I think he will need the season tbh. If SG sticks with 4-2-3-1 then he will be a bit part player for the most part so will take him a while to settle so we need to give him time and patience.
Can't comment on Shankland, never actually seen him play or at least don't remember him but agree if Alfie goes we need a replacement CF.

He is only stating the obvious by assessing where we need to improve which I think is great because at least he knows what he needs to work the boys on next and continues to strive for better, every manager should be looking to improve and move the team forward in my opinion. Trying to apply it is where SG has failed in the past but so far this season it's been an improvement bar the Livi game.

I agree that was dreadful! I take the 3 points but once again we offer very little going forward. 2 howlers from the goalkeepers gifted us the win.
Very few got pass marks today!
It’s clear to see why our scoring average is so low! Most teams in the SPFL would have put 5 or 6 past Hamilton today.
We need to get Morelos firing and back into the team because Roofe looks quite a bit off the pace atm.

It was boring and dreadful but 3 points all that matters we have had one test so far that was against Livingston and we failed.
We will get bigger tests soon where teams will get goals and then we will see what they are made of.

Barker didn’t look like he was up for it today right from the get go.
Roofer not up to speed yet, think he will come good but also think Morelos is still the No 1 striker at the club atm.
First game in a long time that Burns has been pretty ineffective.
Really happy to see Kent stepping up. I’m probably his biggest critic because of the amount of possession he loses but that certainly wasn’t the case today. definitely Man of the match.

Celtic also drew 1-1 T Killie and won 1-0 at United, Killie took 3 off United today, just saying you can't compare apples with oranges. We are the most consistent team so far, hopefully it will continue.

Irvger - Our goals per game ration atm is terrible, avaeraging something like 1.6 goals per game.
That's fine whilst we are keeping clean sheets, but if we lose a single goal it would tend to mean we draw the match.
Hopefully our defensive record continues, but we need to start scoring more goals.
And for me he needs to start working Morelos back into the team because atm the Roofe isn't on fire!

You've got to applaud Ryan Kent this season. When you compare Kent, Barker and Hagi in the game today. All look full of pace and threatening to start, but by the 60 minute mark Barker, Hagi, and Roofe all looked done in but Kent was still maintaining his pace. Roofe will come good too once he's fully fit.

Honesty would do is a job. Just like boydy and coisty they knew where the goal was. They weren’t great technically but knew where and when to be for the ball to drop. I don’t see any reason why Shankland given the chance can’t replicate them. The position he finds himself in the striking pecking order would be solely down to him. It’s called competition and Itten and roofe should thrive on it. I say get him in and let him to prove to us what he can do rather than us sit and agree to disagree. We won’t know till he gets a shot at it 🔴⚪️🔵.

seen the article that Rangers are in talks with Dundee Utd for shanks but nothing will be done until fredo goes.
Surly if this is true and fredo is definitely going to France and if we will be looking for another out and out striker to rotate with Roofe and Itten then surly we can look at better than shanks we know he knows he can find the net but he's been with aberdeen and st. mirren in top flight played 18 top flight games and scored 0.
In my opinion the only real replacement a see for fredo is big JPN

I think we’re going to play Roofe on the right cutting in on he’s left same as Kent does on left cutting in with right. Itten through middle and Aribo in a more advanced midfield role. Jack and Kamara sitting holding and covering full backs. I think when Alfie goes the first signing will be a new centre mid to Go straight into the starting 11 and partner jack. Hagi Barker and Defoe will back up the front 3 and Aribo. I suspect it to be more realistic it will Be a back up striker that will come in than a starter. Shankland could fit the bill perfectly. I’ve said umpteen times I’d love Brewster on loan but I suspect he might get kept at Liverpool this season as he’s been red hot in pre season, I think he’ll score today in a 3-1 win for the pool.

Ended up out on the p*** yesterday and didn't get a chance to reply to kja9 and john25, reason I asked that question about Edouard guys is just to have an idea On how much profit they will actually make on the player. If they paid 9 and sell for 30 Minus 10-20% then it makes a difference to there spending ability after being knock out champs league again. Don’t understand why he’s not involved In the coaching of one of the young teams. Can’t think of a better ex player for the kids to look up to and be inspired by. He’s obv a decent coach by how he’s done at kelty hearts. He is quite a big presence when you take into account how he behaved, quite rightly, towards le guen and Levein. Perhaps too big of a personality to have around the place in some of the decision makers at Ibrox? More of a question than an opinion.

Seeker I remember his performance in Europe in the early years of advocaats reign and he was simply outstanding. What a player. He made a mug of matters to the point lothar grabbed him by the throat 😂 2 legs v Leverkusen and there manager, was it Christophe daum, or something like that, raving about him. Possibly made a £20m bid for him after that? He ran games v Parma again the likes of Baguio veron Ortega. Psv Eindhoven at Ibrox when we won 4-1. Although a certain derek McKinney got moth that day for putting the shackles on luck nillis. Guy was sheer class. Should have went down south to Arsenal or pool when he was in his prime before the injuries. Imagine him and Gerrard in same team.

Absolutely no doubt about Ferguson's quality, one of the best midfielders I've seen at ibrox, but met him a few times when kelty have been playing one of our local teams down here in D&G and found him to be an arrogant wee person. Just my opinion.

We are potent with him but against a bus we are to much of a one trick pony. We need to have the bus not knowing what's going on and that means over loading with attacking players in all areas in the attacking phase. Thought we looked pretty good last game would be surprised if he changed it too much. Passing forward at every opportunity with less touches will create chances, were due a 5 goal game at some point.

He’s been fantastic for rangers. What a signing, suggested to caxinha by Jonatton johansson who never seems to get the credit he deserves for that 1. Wasn’t Pedro or a scout who spotted him, it was jj. He’s been a great player for us especially in Europe last season. However he’s red cards and suspension have cost us dear and are partly what caused us to lose the league. Thank him for he’s services and show him the door. Paid £1m sell for 16-18. - 10% to hjk that’s a great bit of business for the club 🇬🇧.

Been off a couple days lads and came back heard SGL has stepped away hopefully he will be back. I personally want him back as he's one of the few people who comments on the crap I write. Seen a few backing him to come back. We all say silly things, exaggerate expressions. We come from all corners of the globe. I myself made a response on here where I asked if a fellow bear would be better watching a GAA team following his comments. I was blamed for playing the green card maybe rightly so all be it unintentionally . My point was I was over exaggerating my response to the extreme. I didn't stop to think how my comment would be taken. I apologise to all who have to endure my verbal jobby. We are all different personalities with differing issues. For me I don't think either would happen.
Here's why, I feel the board are happy with SG and what he is currently building for us. The team is progressing and getting better window upon window and to destroy all that would be absolute foley.
SG will feel exactly the same, and that it will also take time. Yes, there will be a few bumps along the way but ultimately he will believe he is on the right path.
The man is not a quitter, you can see that from his playing days, and he also has a steely determination and desire to win.
Perhaps your question would be better answered towards the end of the season mate, but for now at least, there's my thoughts lol.

Hi guys been watching this site for atkeast 5/ 6 years but first post so go easy.
Would like to start off by saying I see major improvements from SG tactically and hopefully we will see underperforming players dropped and tactics changed midngame when needed.
Imo we are a solid midfielder and right winger away from the title this season, it appears the cracks are showing on the dark side and they are there for the taking this season.
Previously I feel we let ourselfs down defensively but after the tremendous start the back 4 have had and not relying on on striker for goals we are in a far better place to push on.
There will. be many ups and downs as the season goes on butningive my full. bavking to management and every player that pulls the jersey on in the hope they can deliver #55.

Bar 72 it was meant to say relying on one striker for goals. Kent has been on good goal scoring form and roofe is off the mark with his first. I can see is getting goals from all over the pitch. Some on here really do struggle to see the positives our team are producing and instead only want to pick the one mistake or whatever to comment on. Get behind the team get behind the manager and push them to succeed, getting on the team's back will only ever have a negative affect in performance. #55 is coming but no doubt some posters still won't be happy when it does!
