I'm in total agreement with east enclosure 107, let's get rid of all this negative crap and get 100% behind our tremendous management team of mark warburton & davie weir who imo are doing a terrific job already in such a short space of time, they're brand of football is very pleasing on the eye, attack minded and expansive free flowing.

it is very similar to dick advocaat's style and all the more remarkable as the magic hat has only spent around 800k to build this attack minded unit whereas dick spent a fortune, let's all us 'gers supporters enjoy warbs while he's here because we won't have him forever.

he'll eventually get a big job down in england as far as I'm concerned, says it all really as brentford sacked their manager today as brentford have gone into free fall since warburton left, he's proving a very hard act to follow and I'm for one over the moon as its undoubtedly glasgow rangers gain!

Warbs15 brilliant comment mate, let's hope mw falls in love with our club, as both players and managers usually do, if he is giving the tools I think and hope we have him for years and years.

I agree. Look at the difference from last season its night and day. Yes it was a bad result against St Johnstone however that was a 1 off game and I don't think there was a massive difference between the 2 teams. We hit the bar scored and waghorn missed a sitter. I do believe we will need to sign 2 new center halfs for next season but going forward we look good

Perhaps the short corner routine is dictated by a lack of height in the box guys, hence the short passing from the corner?????

28 Sep 2015 15:14:34
Edgers, you could have a point but remember putting the ball into the box from a corner kick it becomes any bodies ball, and mow likes his team to keep possession otherwise we won't score goals, a ball into the box is like a long punt into open space mate.

Cornor routine now is to obvious.need to mix it up.....even maybe all players start at 18 yarder all run into goal line and leave 1 out to take short pass then quick shot.variety is spice of life.im no manager but if i played againat gers i would play 3 4 3 against them maybe even 3 4 3 as i know if we can break quick wed have gers on the hop.1 ball between to centrebacks and that it cause let's face it we got a 2 man defence most of time

I also had initial doubts about the continual use of the short corner - but as others have mentioned it still provides us with possession and control of the ball as opposed to a potential 50/50 chance to remain in possession from a corner kick into the box - but Sunday showed that this routine produced a penalty from a direct run into the box - It is refreshing to see our players hungry for the ball from these dead-ball plays - which is essentially what a corner kick is -well done to the coaching staff and the players for the current flowing style of football -

It may keep ball retention but majority of time we don't even have shot on goal.i don't mind but got to mix it up.were getting too predictable.the ball doesn't need to go in with height.if it was whipped in and beat the first man then who knows.if we could add goals from corners that may win games

Dave I think mw will bring in a taller type box player at Xmas mate, after all he has now seen first hand the size of most defenders in our wee country, but mw must be giving time.

We're creating lots of chances and the conversion rate is pretty good. I've no criticism of the selection or the style but I am left wondering why all the short corners. Surely it's worth a punt to give Kiernan and Wilson a chance from a corner kick. I lost count on Sunday but it's baffling.

28 Sep 2015 14:39:35
Yeah we can only assume they think a short corner is going to be more productive, but I'm a bit like you as in its worth swinging The odd one in and having a go.

28 Sep 2015 16:34:28
Kiernan and Wilson are central defenders that sit back, Waghorn is a striker that goes forward. can you refer to the goals scored and against columns and maybe realise Warburton knows what he is doing.

I have 2 issues with the short corners.
1) we don't vary them or come up with any set plays and can't think of any successful ones.
2) everyone knows were using them so why let centre backs go up?
