That Ramos looks like a prospect. Possible back up for Wilson?

28 May 2016 23:42:48
Felt really sorry for athletico in it, a hell of a lot of play acting aswell but that number 7 for real could end up a player aswell get the magic hat on it.

29 May 2016 00:12:08
nah, I reckon that illusionist that won BGT would be better at concealing goals.

28 May 2016 22:59:04
Ramos?

29 May 2016 14:48:30
Better team lost.

Bonus for me was betting on Ramos for first scorer at 33/ 1 . What were bookies thinking.

28 May 2016 21:25:17
Personally hope these are the last 4 coming in.

Daniel Bentley is better than Wes and we get him for 250k whereas english clubs will pay whatever price southend value him at.

Jason Cummings will command a hefty fee but with Kennys teachings and Warburton and Davies guidance there's no reason this lad won't flourish next season at only 20 and a natural proven goalscorer he has to be signed up.

Aaron mooy, same as Cummings will be pricey but will be that creative spark that's been missing from the midfield for years aswell as the added bonus of letting him do whatever he wants on the park due to the fact that our holding midfielders can absorb all the pressure and let him do his thing.

Any decent no nonsense defender will do just to get him alongside either Kiernan or Wilson n calm them down, both are good defenders who just need an experienced level head next to them or maybe we just need Barton to shout abuse at them to get them to start realising the level that's to be expected at Rangers.

Thoughts on who you'd like to bring in?

28 May 2016 22:57:57
No hefty fees will be paid. frees and compensation payments ( maybe) .

28 May 2016 23:57:01
Can't see Hibs doing any business with us.

29 May 2016 09:16:20
Bluendglasgow

Both are good defenders? I take it you didn't watch any games last season then? If you think either of them are good enough then you must be one of the fans Sutton called delusional.

29 May 2016 14:49:34
I don't want us to give hibs a penny, especially for an idiot like Cummings.

28 May 2016 20:29:21
Here's what I would like as a lineup this up and coming season

Bentley

Tavenier
Ball
Hanley
Wallace

McKay
Rossiter
Barton
Forrester

Waghorn
Jamie McLaren (Brisbane Roar)

28 May 2016 21:54:35
4-4-2 not going to happen the magic hats made himself clear on this well for those who listen.

28 May 2016 22:40:18
And Hanley is going to Fulham.

28 May 2016 23:19:11
Crooks and Windass not in the team?

28 May 2016 23:25:43
I hope you are correct! There has to be better out there than Hanley!

28 May 2016 20:48:21
I think it's best to get the Hanley idea out of your head as he is in 30k a week and I believe Fulham have bid 1.5m for him. So chances of him being at ibrox next season are zero.

29 May 2016 08:49:30
And Hanley is absolutely rank!

29 May 2016 09:51:40
Jamie Mclaren is poor poor first touch does have pace but not any better than o hallaron only guy worth getting out A league is Aaron Mooy class act and as fit as a fiddle I watched him playing in perth 37 degrees and the guy was immense so I am sure the taps aff weather back in bonnie Scotland will suit lol big hello to the Carronshore RSC great bunch guys see you in December follow follow.

28 May 2016 12:00:02
With Wallace and tav pushing forward all the time which works great for us I may add, but it's one of the reasons we are conceding too many goals a couple of experienced cb's and another keeper to actually challenge wes would be a good shout in my opinion because we seriously need to stop conceding goals and early ones at that!

29 May 2016 09:20:01
You can't just blame the CBs for the goals conceded as I said before Tavernier is a poor defender who can't tackle, mark opponents and is too easily beaten in the air.

28 May 2016 10:42:36
Back in Scotland to visit family. Reading a certain paper, can anybody shed light on any reason to allow a big mouth biased ex Celtic player write a column?

Hartson was never a great player and I don't know if he is an ambassador for Celtic but you would think he is the way he writes!

28 May 2016 11:17:22
I am a bluenose thru and thru, to say Hartson wasnt a great player is ridiculous. He was terrific for Celtic and always produced the goods against us.

28 May 2016 11:40:08
Not signing fat John when we had the chance was a massive error.

28 May 2016 12:09:38
Never read his column but it can't be worse than Suttons.

28 May 2016 12:30:40
I'm glad we never signed hartson not because he wasn't a good player but because we signed Ronald de boer instead.

28 May 2016 12:55:15
It wasn't an error, he failed a fitness test. We had been burnt previously on signing the likes of Prodan etc. I think he also failed a test at Spurs, if memory serves me right.

28 May 2016 14:35:32
Gdog, that's my opinion on the guy. He wasn't a great player for me, a good player yes but not great.

28 May 2016 16:02:18
He was ok I wouldn't say great player.

28 May 2016 16:02:48
I agree Rafbob, since when did a lumbering, one dimensional battering ram constitute being a great player? Celtic played a horrible brand of long/ high ball football at the time. The only thing I can say is that he played to his strengths, height and weight and weight.

28 May 2016 18:58:08
We were supposed to sign both Hartson and De Boer on the same day until Bunter failed his medical. Decent player, nothing more.

28 May 2016 19:03:00
Tam, that's the same as I think and I can't see him as ever being a great player.

29 May 2016 09:22:51
Rafbob

The reason he writes in the paper is because he tries to be controversial and get people talking which he does. As for his ability good player who had a good career but not great player.

29 May 2016 10:12:23
Biffo, the guy is basically on level with those, "my teams better than your team" kids and the papers in Scotland love a wind up.

Had a good few years with Celtic and scored the majority of his career goals up here but that was all he did. Nothing special.

28 May 2016 09:55:03
See loads of folk keep going on about Kranjar, don't get me wrong would love his experience at the club, but he has openly said he would love to stay at New York cosmos. And they want to keep him too. His wife wants to stay in America too, so can't say why folk keep going on about him.

28 May 2016 09:36:55
Was just looking at the new format for the league cup and I must say that I am really not impressed with it.

There are going to be so many meaningless games and they are going to be played far to early in the season. Not only that the teams with European football get an advantage as they get automatic qualification for next round.

Whoever, thought of this idea needs sacked immediately (has SFA written all over it) .

28 May 2016 09:56:52
All we had to do was beat hibs to have that advantage. but couldn't do it so why complain? that's all people seem to do on here now.

28 May 2016 10:02:56
My main gripe is the number of meaningless games.

28 May 2016 10:20:01
If anything these "meaningless" games will help some of the new signings find their feet.

28 May 2016 11:15:56
if rangers are playing are these games still "meaningless"
I have said already games like these will show
how true our support really are
I also agree "meaningless" games given young players
a chance in the first team
I hope we are not going to use new signings as an excuse
if we do not hit ground running.

28 May 2016 11:20:12
The SFA are clueless, this was a kneejerk reaction to making changes for the sake of making changes. They just don't have the balls to try summer football and this was meant to be the next best thing.

It's ALL F'ing pointless.

28 May 2016 12:01:10
I thought it was the spfl that decided what happened in this cup and not the SFA. I have to agree with one of the other posters I think it's not a bad thing and will give new players they chance to find their feet. Think the game against Motherwell is a good test of how we are progressing and the other games against the lower league teams gives players like Burt, Murdoch and Thompson a chance to play.

28 May 2016 12:07:45
i think it is a good thing for us. We will have as many as nine or ten new players / players returning from Loan Spells so it gives us a number of games to get the team ready for the SPL. No reason why we can't win our section and progress to the next round with a team of players that are match fit. Some of our competitors in the league will not have that benefit as they will go out of Europe in the preliminary rounds!

28 May 2016 12:14:03
At least their trying new things, that's the only way to see if something works, btw I'm no spfl lover, not at all but sometimes change is good.

28 May 2016 15:55:42
This was the original format in the 70s and 80s of the League Cup which was binned at the time. for too many meaningless games; fact, not opinion. Yet again, the forward thinking SFA earning their exorbitant wages by coming out with 'new' ideas to regenerate Scottish football.

Interestingly, 8 groups and only one with 2 Premier teams in it!

29 May 2016 09:25:26
JFC

The way the seedlings worked we were always going to be in the group with another Premiership side. As I said think it will be a good thing and against the smaller teams some of the younger players should be given a chance.

29 May 2016 14:33:50
In our game here the rich get richer an poor get poorer. do u think its meaningless games for lower league clubs that will get a major cash injection each year playing teams they don't normaly play against. if the games are meaningless then let's throw some kids on and ask them if its meaningless. good idea in my eyes hopefully some of the smaller teams will flourish with this new cash.

28 May 2016 09:09:48
Obviously it is a bit early to be making your predictions as we don't know who we will sign and we don't know what will happen at other clubs.

However, just imagine that the league kicked off today and no more signings could be made. Where do you think we would finish in the league?

Personally I think we would be about 3rd.

28 May 2016 09:38:43
Disagree, not with that defence and goalkeeper, I reckon mid table.

28 May 2016 10:30:41
We need a reliable goalscorer and some solid experience throughout the defensive positions to finish 3rd or better. Another talismanic attacking midfielder or winger on top of that to challenge for the league.

28 May 2016 09:58:22
Get a grip! cue the doom and gloomers.

28 May 2016 11:19:40
I disagree we would be mid table even tho the defence especially has been poor recently, a big problem during last season was we needed a tough tackling dm to provide a bit of cover and we now have that in barton and rossiter I agree with Johan that if we add a decent cb and a decent striker we would not be 2 far away.

28 May 2016 11:21:55
Between 4th and 6th for me. We are weak at the back. The other teams will raise their game in the first half of the season for sure.

28 May 2016 11:36:16
Personally speaking I would say in the top 3. and yes I know our defence was not top drawer last season, especially in the latter stages but let's not forget that when we played against the premiership teams last season we were beaten only once. Our players raised their games and in the most our defending was outstanding against premiership teams with the exception of St Jonhstone. However, that being said, I do agree the defence needs strengthened and particularly in the centre half positions. Let's not kid ourselves here, the SPL teams are not that much greater than us so I don't see why we should have any reason to fear next season. Onwards and upwards.

28 May 2016 12:00:30
Cdc I agree with all of that mate i just can't see how people think we would be mid table we have played some good stuff against premier league opposition this year obviously with exception of the St johnstone game but I feel genuinely confident going into nxt season with the arrival of barton and rossiter, of course we need a new cb maybe 2 and some competition for places to keep tav etc on there toes but the premier is not a great standard I'm not saying we will win the league but 2nd should be certainly achievable.

28 May 2016 12:09:59
We are well short of players just now and as such would struggle to cope with injuries and suspensions. We need at least four more players, preferably six and certainly need defensive players and a striker to come in. We were badly shown up against Hibs and Falkirk for our defensive frailties and the SPL is a higher standard.

28 May 2016 12:17:33
Use should b ashamed to call urselfs gers fans, mid table my arse, we are Rangers, always and forever, we will be first next year and in the champs league the year after, in warbs and weir we trust
#55.

29 May 2016 09:29:15
Delboy

That's a bit strong. People are only expressing their honest opinion and have given their reasons for it. It's hard to say where we would finish up just now as the other premiership teams have lost some players. For me the only question is would we finish above Celtic just now and the answer is no.

28 May 2016 09:06:33
If we're looking for a good centerhalf with plenty of experience why not get big Aaron Hughes in as he's not even attached to any club?

28 May 2016 08:14:29
Morning fellow Bears, just about to make my way 9 miles down the road to Porchester for the Rangers pompey legends game, can't wait, should be a great day with an expected 2000 Bears in attendance, no disrespect to our current team, but my God what a lineup of stars on show would so dearly love these players in their pomp playing for us again, most of whom gave me some of my greatest experiences as a Gers fan. I hope there is a massive turnout in general to support 2 wonderful charities HFH and of course Lee Rigby (God rest his soul ) anyone going along have a great fun day.

28 May 2016 07:18:19
Would love Weiss back at Ibrox, does anybody know what his situation is regarding his contract? I know he's on good wages playing in Middle East can't remember who for mind you? but think he would take a pay cut to come back yeah, only hurdle would be transfer fee but think he's nearing the end of contract? Dunno how much he would cost but if he wants to come back his club would have to listen to our offer or lose for nothing, this is all wishfull thinking but Weiss and Barton together sounds right! . Warbs must've thought about the possibility of having these two in the team as I'm sure he knows that Weiss has expressed coming back. So if anyone knows any info on his situation let me know as he's top of my list of players I'd like to see back at Ibrox along with thousands of other Bears.

28 May 2016 08:40:55
Why would anyone take a pay cut to play for any club? What a rediculous post.

28 May 2016 08:49:16
What a ridiculous reply. Our new signing joey barton said 2013 he would take a substantial pay cut to join everton. And I'm sure there's numerous footballers who have done the same.

{Ed001's Note - Daniel Agger took a massive pay cut to join Brondby rather than anyone else, when leaving Liverpool. He turned down a massive pay rise on numerous occasions from the likes of Barca, as he was happy playing for Liverpool. Not every player thinks of money first.}

28 May 2016 10:33:14
But Weiss does (think of the money) .

Has already been quoted as saying he would like to play for us one day but not yet. (towards end of career after earning all his money)

28 May 2016 04:43:34
Watched a video of Dan Burn CB for Fulham, know he's been mentioned several times on here. Looked composed in the video read the game well tackles well and was MOTM. Only 24 so good be a excellent addition plus he's been released so no fee to pay Any thoughts!

28 May 2016 05:08:49
I think he is exactly the kind of defender we should bring in, along with maybe a more experienced defender, such as agger (however, i doubt it) .

I also think dan burn is the kind of player the hat likes.

28 May 2016 01:45:04
Said months ago that Gers would sign players that no one was talking about and
Got slated because it was not Cummings, Dorrans, and all the other names mentioned .
Barton, Rossiter, what a start, Crooks will be a cracker, Windass ( time will tell )
Who will be next, that's what excites me,
that one old firm game put us back in the
Limelight, and opens the scope for us to explore!

27 May 2016 22:49:24
Rangers have been inquiring to my mate in Uddingston. He built some nice big flats there and was in the process of selling one to Kenny Miller when the club approached (directly or otherwise, I never asked) about renting 2 flats for a year minimum.

Don't know who for but dates are from June onwards. So 2 flats and they have 3 beds each but I'd guess 2 players usually shack up together. 4 bodies?

no idea, just passing on info

Cheers onwards and upwards.

28 May 2016 00:24:31
What position is O'halloran? Because he has been playing out wide for us but I'm pretty sure he is more a natural striker?

28 May 2016 08:57:16
Looking at some of his shots I would disagree.

28 May 2016 00:23:34
we need a big strong traditional number 9. I don't think Waghorn is this as he will be pushed out more wide. Also I don't think Miller will be capable playing every single game maybe as a super sub.

28 May 2016 23:06:00
Why would we need a ' big strong number 9 ' when MW's team doesn't play that style of football?
