Its coming up to silly season as we all know. We all have a bit of Moult syndrome. What I've learned over the years is 90% of links are incorrect and the signings we eventually make mostly have not been publicised until perhaps a leak in the final 24/ 48 hours. Quite a lot of the players mentioned so far are either overrated or overpaid. I would hope our scouting department is doing better than the media selecting players for us next season. My guess is we will bring in between 3 and 5 players depending on outgoing but most if not all will not be on our radar.

Whoever we do bring in he has to get it right this season. he's wasted so money the last 2 years. And most of loan signings have been disasters. can't afford anymore slip ups.

I agree with you 💯% TJBB! Rumours on here or in the media are just that until any official word comes from our club! Of course most of the rumours are wide of the mark, but we all sort of hang onto ones, whether it be from what we count a reliable source, or a particular story we hope is true, which is all part of the football debate between us, in the end. I honestly would be happy with 3 quality signings, that would enhance our starting 11.

I would want a very tough, experienced midfielder, a right winger and if morelos stays another 1 striker. If he leaves then 2 strikers. My choices if we could get them would be, james milner for our midfield, either jordan ibe, aaron lennon or martin boyle for our right wing and if morelos stays, i'd like us to sign lyndon dykes as he's a completely different striker to what we currently have at rangers. If morelos leaves then along with still dykes i would want us to sign either rhian brewster on loan, lyle taylor,
ivan toney, kemar roofe. If which would be realistic and couldn't get milner i would want tapia! what's all our thoughts and ideas on this fellow bears? 🤔.

SGL I just fell off my seat, more chance you playing next season for us than milner. He’s on 100k and plays most weeks for Liverpool.
There is little money around Scottish game and rangers are likely to take a very significant drop in income through Europe, tv income and match day.
This is a time to be more prudent than ever.

{Ed001's Note - he just signed a new 1 year deal for next season. And he is on a lot more than 100k, he was Liverpool's highest paid player when he joined, which triggered an increase on Gerrard's salary to match. Gerrard was on about 125k at the time iirc.}

Cool Ed. Some our fans being totally unrealistic. He is a magnificent player. SGL appeared in 34 games, on bench unused another 17 very much part off what Liverpool do.
Remember Bournemouth paid majority of his wages.
Defoe now on less than alf who is highest paid player at ibrox.

I am led to believe that in his new one-year contract, Milner has taken a slight drop in wages to £140,000 a week. He also played 34 games last season, which happens to also be his age. He is finishing his career with Liverpool.

Just thinking bout rangers going to dubai for the winter break a know it won't happen this year but what good does it do a mean train for a week or 2 in roasting heat to come back to Glasgow to play in low temperatures would we not be better staying in Glasgow training in doors at Murray Park a go and play teams like alloa Peterhead albion rovers these kinda teams that will be small stadiums in the cold weather and prepare for cold nights home and away in the spl sometimes these trips away to dubai and that are like pre season matches and takes the competitiveness away from the players considering its a mid season break and imo don't do us any good we have state of the art training facilities at the training ground.

There are a multitude of reasons why warm weather training is used by most professional athletes, footballers, athletics, tennis etc. Not many downsides apart from cost. Klopp swears by it however it not the reason they won the EPL and its not the reason we lost the 3/ 4 SPL. We just lost due to injury and suspensions causing a net effect of lost momentum and confidence. We need better players and more of them to compensate when the going gets tough. Last season we didn't have the squad to deal with a down turn over a prolonged period.

Steven Gerrard has stated that he feels the Dubai Trip had nothing to do with our slump since January, it's all about opinions I guess, after all, Celtic seemed to do okay, more's the pity after the same trip.

Tjbb what does klopp swearing by it have to do with rangers he's the Liverpool manager so different circumstances to be fair might work for them but certainly doesn't work for us a think our players need to be kept focused they go to dubai play in the heat with perfect pitches then go to St Johnstone on a cold Sunday on a terrible pitch and can't cope we need to play games in Scotland in poor conditions on poor pitches to prepare for any condition we might gave in the spl and keeps them focused just my opinion.

Why all the expense of Dubai? No harm in going to southern Spain in the winter. Very nice climate but not baking hot. The La Manga resort on the Costa Blanca used to be a destination for football squads. One week there then back to Scotland to acclimatise. Something badly went wrong last twice the team went to Dubai and probably cost us the league.

Weather is hit and miss in Spain in winter but no frost so they could train every day in maybe more appropriate conditions than Dubai also tons of local opposition for soft games.

Tjbb not denying klopps a great manager but what works for one club might not work for another in England its more about the football in Scotland its more a brutal game with route one football and teams defending so we need to work on that side of our game we know we can play football as we've seen in Europe but we need to be better at the rough and tumble of the Scottish game.

Rangers fan group is to give PC David Whyte (copper that was stabbed in Glasgow) a signed Rangers top. I think at this crazy time it's a great gesture. While others jump on the bandwagon, Rangers continue to support the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect us and our country.
