They are a necessity, not just "ideally". We have countless cover for the flanks and the midfield.
Not one positive signing in straight out attack, since Dodoo is a winger. And not one positive signing in defence apart from Clint Hill.
Those are the areas we needed serious improvement in, defended poorly last season at times and weren't ruthless enough with our chances.
In other words, a CB and a ST is a must. And then we'll be fine.

I would agree with that. I reckon that our current strikers and attacking midfield players will score goals but I do have a real concern that we need a top quality centre back.

Gregg Stewart is one for the future and it would be wise to snap him up on a pre in Jan, yeah he wouldn't get into team immediately but Warbs has options, could keep him at Ibrox and develop with guys like Nico and Barton around him or put him down South on loan or imo would like to see our young guys go abroad to the Dutch second tier if poss, always thought that would be a good idea, the Dutch are known for bringing on youngsters and still don't understand why we don't go down that route.

IMO If a player has made his money, serious money, and is playing in the States, If he realises he has 2-3yrs left at top level he may want to play them wage cut and all experiencing an Old Firm. That's the only way I can fathom Villa RVP Lampard or whoever coming to Glasgow. Why spend remainder of careers playing Portland Timbers in a country that football is the 4th sport AND could prob go back there after doing so. Barton could've went somewhere else for money and I'm thinking the same for Nico, there is also the chance of CL. But just to be part of a team challenging and winning Cups with passionate supporters who will giv u the biggest buzz would be a very hard thing to ignore. I think it comes down to the player and their decision of money or that feeling that they got during their careers in Europe, kinda difficult to explain when your talking about a player going from 70-80-90k+ a week to 20k but these guys who we would be in the market for are 31-32yrs+ and must have more than enough £££ and guys like Villa Lampard have grown up knowing about the Gers especially the latter and lots more out there. Warbs and McParland havva sumfina acookin up ;)

Lets put this in prespective with rvp. yes he is on 80k a week. gers will not pay that. if he goes to gers, which is plausable given he said he would like to come a few years back. if he comes he would be on 15-20 k max. and it would be to tick the box to play in one of biggest derbies in world. plus rvp has made his money, can't see him chasing the cash. time will tell. the only stiking point for me is the transfer fee.
