I was at ibrox for the tour last year after a particularly dodgy time in hospital and my daughter was amazed when I told her Rangers have another 2 container loads of trophies and medals and memorabilia and don’t have the space for it all, I take it edmiston house will be housing the lot?

What are your options for any punishment to Celtic and Aberdeen due to C.V. breaches.

IMO there should not be a points deduction or bans for the players as the teams did not gain any advantage.

Ok Celtic played Boli against Kilmarnock, will this be the viewd as the same as fielding an ineligible player

All I think will happens is a fine and warning.

Aberdeen shouldn't really b deducted points as to be fair they didn't actually play those players after the incident and also they can't b accountable for a players actions 24hrs a day, however celtic DID play an ineligible player! and even if they didn't realise he was ineligible i don't suppose legia were aware they were breaking any rules when brininging on a player who turned out to be ineligible in a tie that they already led easily in.

Paul86 - Aberdeen perhaps could get away with that. however to get your passport you need to ask for it from the club, as they hold onto it for European travel etc - Celtic would have known. he was ineligible and played - 3-0 aberdeen.

I’m not very sure at all that a club holds onto your passport, which is a legal document belonging only to you, in fact I know that is incorrect totally as so many clubs have had players at airport who have left they’re passports at home, many have done that even in my playing days in lower leagues I know of players who were sent home to train with the kids when they forgot their passports.

Celtic also supplied the club car to take Bolingoli to and from the airport apparently. He was clearly there for transfer talks and Celtic knew about it.

If you don’t fulfil fixtures then points reduction. The teams they were to play didn’t break rules and now have to fit in games later, that’s not fair on them. As for Bolingoli, the Mankies knew he was away. they have his passport and anyone leaving for Spain has to complete paperwork 48 hrs in advance to be allowed into the country and the same for coming back. It wasn’t a day trip to Millport he went.
But hey ho SPFL will no doubt do he haw.

{Ed001's Note - the player liaison officer usually has to spend most of their time trying to collect passports before any European games. It would not be legal for the clubs to hold onto passports.}

Not only have I heard of clubs keeping passports, I've seen it. It's a purely voluntary thing that some younger players from abroad take advantage of. Some of them leave their passport with their agent or a club official. And it's not illegal, if I want to leave my passport with my neighbour for safekeeping I can do so.
Whether or not it was the case in this instance nobody knows, but I find it highly improbable that a club at that level had no idea where their player was.

The poster above claimed that the club always keeps the passports and players have to ask for them back if they are going anywhere. Not true, players are in charge of their own passports and can do what they like with them. That includes asking the club to take care of them or their neighbour. If mo sold I'd love to see us reinvest in skov olsen boy looks class and a forward nsame (goals for fun) from yb or vydra (novo esq hard working forward) or maybe even wait till Jan and monitor Cosgrove recovery. he's a lump of a lad and proved he can score in this league and europe.

Cosgrove is for me (just an opinion) no better an option than a Colin Nish, Jon Daly etc he’s just not good enough for me, big target man yes he is, I don’t think he’s proven anything near enough to get into our squad.

If we bought him I’d give the lad support but genuinely don’t think we need a ‘big lump’ it’s football not wrestling, I’d rather an aggressive athlete, powerful yet skilful, some have mentioned Nsame and that’s the sort of player I’d like to see signed.

Cosgroves a decent player, I think he’d do a good job at times for rangers. Wins a lot of free kicks n penalties because he’s so big and hard to play against. However I don’t think he’s the type of class we’re looking for.

Just seen the article that Rangers are in talks with Dundee Utd for shanks but nothing will be done until fredo goes.

Surly if this is true and fredo is definitely going to France and if we will be looking for another out and out striker to rotate with Roofe and Itten then surly we can look at better than shanks we know he knows he can find the net but he's been with aberdeen and st. mirren in top flight played 18 top flight games and scored 0.

In my opinion the only real replacement a see for fredo is big JPN

Jean-Pierre Nsame I know we looked at him then Gerrard said not a player we wanted but surly if Alf goes surly Nsame is someone we must be looking at a watched him on Wednesday for young boys in Europa league and he scored yet again in a 3-1 win

Surly he would fit the bill in our light blue shirt.

What do you all you bears/ bearettes think should he be a banker for Alf's replacement or not

I think as stevie has obviously finally wiped his hands of the petulant snake then shankland would probably be a better bet than many at the money as nobody can say for sure that he won’t turn out to be a fantastic poacher that could be anoth Boyd, who has never been afforded the respect he deserves as a great rangers scorer, maybe shankland will be next.

St Mirren was a championship side when he played for them and Shankland was literally 18 years old when he played in the top flight. Not many 18 year olds get to lead a line up for half of a season.

Guy has seemed to mature well and imo he would be a better impact sub than everyone we have rn bar Defoe.

We also might need to up our home grown quota now for Europe etc, that may be another reason we would recruit from Scotland rather than Europe for a back up striker. Even in our good sides of the past we have always had the signing from Dundee, Killie etc that done well for us when needed. Novo/ Boyd/ Dodds/ Miller/ Naismith there’s loads of success stories with the fairly low cost local guys stepping up striker wise.

Shankland is a goalscorer but hasn't yet played in a team where lots of chances will be created, i. e. by a midfield like the Gers. He wouldn't cost a fortune and we'd have four strikers with Itten, Roofe and Defoe when he returns. Our midfielders also need to chip in with more goals.

He's a player i would like to see at the club and think he could have an impact. Different from what we have and a proven goalscorer whilst still being young.
However if alfie goes i would probs have liked to see it reinvested in a stiker.

Realistically would be nice to see the club spend up to 10 million of what we get for alfie.

A quality central midfielder the priority.

I know Itten hasn’t played much yet but am just very unsure of him.

Kamara is better than Ferguson mate. He is also an international, young and fairly valuable asset to us. I’m not saying I wouldn’t take Ferguson but folk wanting him to replace guys like kamara etc in our 11 might be disappointed with what they end up with.

I like Ferguson, think he’s a good prospect. But if he wasn’t a Ferguson I don’t think as many people would be paying him as much attention. Good player, good potential. But not good enough to start for us, yet anyway.
