A Poll edd for folks opinion, I favour Europe as it keep performance levels up but risks injury, so to do both you need a large quality squad. This is on the back of tic not progressing, will their SPL levels drop even further now they are not competing at the highest level.

Q? Will we be better positioned to win the SPL with or without a run in Europe.

Rangers SPFL Win poll

28 Nov 2020 01:21:49
Rangers winning the league mate will depend completely and utterly on Rangers being good enough, there's more than enough players at Rangers for both, just likely over Europe, poll my arse.

28 Nov 2020 08:35:17
Tom Do you ever have anything positive to say on this fine forum? You’re the sort of guy if I’ve been to Tenerife you’ve been to Elevenerife! Can you just not let people voice their opinions without negative comments all the time?

28 Nov 2020 09:31:21
Blackwoodbear please don't get on at Tomthum12. He obviously has an issue with his height 🤣.

28 Nov 2020 10:29:20
Thanks all for voting and thanks all who who couldn't care less and just ignored it and thanks also to anybody that cannot help themselves, LOL no worries takes all sorts to make the world go round.

28 Nov 2020 11:02:34
I voted with TJBB.
I think the more we play against a higher level of opponent the better it will be for us. We have the squad to cope, so let's compete for everything.

28 Nov 2020 11:27:29
i also voted with it is obviously doing wonders for moral and for our profile world wide.

28 Nov 2020 12:04:11
Correct BMG👍
And ignore the smart arses TJBB who should just scroll past instead of bringing nothing to the debate. 👍
European football is required by our club for a variety of reasons.
1/ Out players get to play against better teams and raise their performance levels.
2/ The money our club has the chance to make.
3/ It puts our p! ayers in the shop window and good performances at that level increase their value
4/ It raises the profile of the club attracting further investors and commercial deals.

28 Nov 2020 13:06:43
Exactly BB72! I love European nights, the longer we're involved, the better it is all round.
Unbeaten, top of the league domestically and in Europa league, scoring for fun, wonder strikes, slick football, solid defence (Benfica games aside), opposition manager's waxing lyrical about our play, European recognition, making decent money, happy fans, the name Glasgow Rangers resonating around Europe again, the list is long. What's not to be positive and proud about?
I'm no expert, but it would appear that European football has no negative impact on our domestic season at all, so let's keep going.

28 Nov 2020 16:42:32
Players would rather play more games than train anyway. Europe is definately beneficial to us in all areas bmg.

27 Nov 2020 19:24:54
Away from yesterdays game for a sec.

On to our beloved Sports Direct director Ashley.

Have we been boycotting his stores in retaliation to his treatment of our club.

I have but only in regards to Rangers kits and accessories .

However, I'm a bit two faced to admit I have bought non rangers stuff like polo shirts and shorts from SD online as they are top quality at great low prices.

Have any others on here able to admit the same or am I the only one who openly feels seen as a traitor to our club? .

27 Nov 2020 19:53:10
I have avoided their sports direct stores for few years now but I have to admit to buying from some of his other stores.
You'd be surprised at just how many stores and retailers this guy actually owns!

27 Nov 2020 20:54:18
No i havent. I continually by my clothes from stores he has shares in. Flannels, cruise, van mildert, four marketing etc. If you were any decent designer clothing then you will be lining his pockets.

27 Nov 2020 21:15:36
I haven’t but not saying I won’t in the future as I think it’s a load of BS boycotting as he isn’t bothered really as plenty of people around Britain still use SD.

27 Nov 2020 21:16:38
Not went near any of them and never will. Waited till now to get my stuff from Ibrox shop and prepared to wait untill the stock was in . Thankfully got what I needed 👍.

28 Nov 2020 07:45:06
Sports Direct employ thousands of ordinary folks in Scotland whither to pay their way through Uni or as a full time career so I'm happy to buy goods from there if it is the best/ cheapest around, however I buy all my Rangers merch from the mega store.

28 Nov 2020 09:56:09
what are you buying over in scotland? because what SD sell in ireland is absolute garbage . and online is worse . have bought stuff in dublin shop but never again.

28 Nov 2020 10:00:14
I went into Sports Direct once - and that was to shelter from a massive downpour at the time. PS. Did not and will not purchase anything from them!

28 Nov 2020 11:51:50
SD are a really clever business who understand who their customer is and cut costs to attract those customers who place cost over everything else (some have no choice) .

Thankfully, I don't have to stoop so low to use their pile it high stores although I used a few times before Ashley started to strop our club bare.

Never again - or HoF etc.

28 Nov 2020 12:06:44
It depends how far you want to take the boycott and how far your morals stretch.
Sports Direct as a group have their fingers in a few pies including shares in Tesco, JD Sports, Puma.

28 Nov 2020 16:47:26
Eould never buy any rangers items but I've got 2 boys who play football and there's no other place in ayr to get them new boots shinpads under armour etc. Like posters above said it's not easy to not give him money, he's in about jd sports the lot as well as controlling most of the designer clothing market in the uk.

27 Nov 2020 18:52:20
Just on last night. What Benfica done was to bring on 5 fresh players to keep the tempo up an wear us down into mistakes. We looked leggy at 65 mins on however Jack and Aribo were out and we only had Barjonas to bring on and I suspect Gerrard thought experience would count more than legs. If we had the 2 mentioned Mids last night I suspect we would have made 2 subs to keep the engine room ticking over and concentration levels up. On the balance a fair result. Kamara was outstanding and Morelos was decent in a deep role, don't think he gave away much and linked play all over the pitch. Is Morelos playing deep a master stroke allowing other players to get in while a defender is dragged out to mark Fred, who knows would love to be a fly on the wall.

27 Nov 2020 19:33:23
It certainly seems to be working a treat in my eyes. He's dragging defenders all over the place allowing others to score. He may not be scoring as many but who cares because lots of others are taking the chances through the spaces he's creating for them. No longer are we solely reliant on him scoring.
Masterstroke for me yes absolutely.

27 Nov 2020 20:03:50
Maybe if the ref have us the penalty that was so obvious things may have been different.

27 Nov 2020 20:36:59
They had a very good opportunity also so swings and you know what, result done and dusted, we competed and remain unbeaten by a formidable champions league team, that's what we should take from this.

27 Nov 2020 21:25:10
Morelos was top class last night, worked tirelessly for the cause.

28 Nov 2020 01:29:33
No talk of masterstroke is suitable until Rangers win something tangible and that means the league title.

28 Nov 2020 07:26:15
Did he bring on fresh legs or did he bring on different players because he was losing, so he had nothing to lose.

If Gerrard changed things and we lost or the draw, it would have been most people saying it’s his fault why change a team that was solid etc etc

We are going to lose goals drop points, I’m glad it was Europe rather than league, so the team don’t think that’s em unbeatable with out the effort.

28 Nov 2020 10:32:03
Good point delman, agree keeps the team grounded and humble and hopefully they know hard work will get you a long way in life.

28 Nov 2020 11:42:18
Bizzymybox, yip, he got my motm mate.

27 Nov 2020 18:33:06
My rangers team against falkirk on sunday-
McLaughlin
Tav
Goldson
Helander
Bassey
Hagi
Kamara
Arfield
Itten
Defoe
Barker
Thoughts 🤔.

27 Nov 2020 19:10:25
Tough one coops I would like to see Alfie in there a couple of goals for him but would like to see itten too also want to see zingy if he is fit and aribo lol spoilt for choice . such problems huh.

27 Nov 2020 19:29:04
Think Patterson will get a run Tav can't play every game. zungu looks like he'll play also.

27 Nov 2020 19:35:31
Patterson self isolating.

27 Nov 2020 19:48:34
I would have included zungu but i believe he's still injured 🤔.

27 Nov 2020 20:12:53
Like to see some 1st teamers get another mental and physical rest. The following might start, Helander Bassey Barker Barjonas Hjai Aribo Itten Dafoe Stewart.

27 Nov 2020 20:36:35
Nobody mentioned some of our young attackers.18 year olds are old enough and we have a few.

27 Nov 2020 20:46:28
McAllister said both Zungu and Ariel trained today and would train tomorrow.
Said Jack would not make it.

27 Nov 2020 21:11:58
Give barjonas a start.

27 Nov 2020 21:16:58
Defoe or itten to start as I doubt he will play 2 upfront and I think itten should start.

27 Nov 2020 22:31:01
Six counties name them, I’m sure u can’t.

27 Nov 2020 22:35:13
Not being negative, as I thought last nights result was a good one, but, does anyone agree that McGregors distribution was unusually poor, almost cost a goal at one point.

28 Nov 2020 00:23:02
McLaughlin
Tav goldson helander bassey
Kamara Davis
Barker arfield itten
Morelos
Stevie g still wants to win everything and Tav won't want to not play. Stewart might get a run out as will Defoe. Barjonas too and maybe another youngster. No matter what, we want to win everything and by a big margin. Another 8-0 would be nice.

28 Nov 2020 07:04:30
I'd bet my last bean on it that jermain defoe will start against falkirk on sunday.

28 Nov 2020 09:05:23
SGL

I would be astonished if Defoe didn’t start and the team you picked looks like being very close to the one that will start. Possibly Zungu in place of Kamara.

28 Nov 2020 10:37:05
John, I would agree, Goalie distribution was poor, said it during the game to my lad, our usual out ball was not there, ie Tav high up the right to win headers and then we get the 2nd ball, suppose he was pinned back more than usual.

27 Nov 2020 17:07:29
Let's face it we are picking faults i in players, if they didn't have faults in their game they would be at a higher level than the spl.

27 Nov 2020 17:51:39
Yes 22 games 0 defeats 17 clean sheets and I thought we were doing fantastic, amazing and outstanding. I read this page to discover we are a team of flappers and bottlers with a manager who can't manage damn I was happy too.

27 Nov 2020 18:33:00
I see the editor has done his job, I was a tad angry, thanks.

{Ed001's Note - welcome. Understandable as it can get frustrating. You only have to look at the Liverpool site every single day to see that there are some people who are just never happy.}

27 Nov 2020 19:21:38
Wheres that came from? Saw nothing but constructive criticism, most happy with result snd performance but think it should have been more than a point.

27 Nov 2020 19:53:09
Ano Bluepete, there's a good few fickle supporters on here, who at the first small sign of adversity deem our manager not good enough, some players are not crap after waxing lyrical about them a couple of days before. I've got news for them, we're not going to have every single game rosy throughout the season!

27 Nov 2020 20:42:18
A few of our players had poor game but what annoyed me was jesus the benfica manager freshened his team with 5 subs we didn't use one. surely management seen morelos kent and arfield were tired. Most of pressure was coming down barisic side bassey could have helped him.

28 Nov 2020 01:35:18
Steven has mDe many mistakes such as these on Thursday, and he should have learnt by now, but i'm happy with my team, that still doesn't mean he didn't make another massive mistake, because he did, clearly he did.

28 Nov 2020 08:50:22
He Did he did he did!

There you go TT, he did.

Unfortunately I’m not sure he did- not much on the bench to freshen midfield, Defoe style no use for the stage of game.

27 Nov 2020 14:26:47
Jelly and ice cream for 55 🍨.

28 Nov 2020 01:36:26
Thats great mate, personally il wait until its even remotely near.

27 Nov 2020 14:22:41
I think last night pointed out Mcgregors serious weakness. He can't accurately pass the ball over 25yrds. If he trys to kick it any distance it very rarely reaches its intended target. The amount of times he opted for the short pass to Goldson put us under pressure because Benfica rapidly pressed us and we struggled. I'm a big fan of Mcgregor and he's magic at saving the ball but poor at distributing it. Mchlaughlin is far better in this area but not as good a shot stopper.

27 Nov 2020 14:38:19
Quite a lot of weaknesses last nite barasic had 9 throwins that i counted and he gave ball to benfica
Players and kent lost good posession
Of ball 7 times.

27 Nov 2020 14:52:39
Interesting post 3 cheers, agree distribution not McGregor’s greatest strength.

27 Nov 2020 16:00:39
I don't have a problem with Kent losing posession because he's showing his willingness to have a go at them. It's that 1 time he doesn't lose it that can make the difference. I would be unhappy if he wasn't taking on defenders.

27 Nov 2020 16:17:27
6counties, you've obviously scrutinized our players mistakes last night very closely and to a very fine detail 🤔So answer me this, how many times did glen kamara give the ball away in midfield and how many completed passes did he make? 🤔🤔.

27 Nov 2020 17:16:37
I totally agree with you 3 cheers regarding ryan kent mate 👍 Wingers are totally like that in regards to continually trying things and taking their opponents on and will give possession away during games from time to time! But kenty will keep at it and even when he loses possession, he'll go past his opponent in games, which leads to goals and he's detrimental to what our team is doing 👍He's a tremendous player and very talented boy 👌.

27 Nov 2020 18:18:00
Behave 6counties, two outstanding performances against a top class team and you are picking on players losing possession at times.

Coop detrimental is a negative mate, typo? 👍.

27 Nov 2020 19:05:48
Instrumental?

27 Nov 2020 19:22:33
Detrimental 🤣🤣🤣.

27 Nov 2020 19:53:49
Sentimental 😁.

27 Nov 2020 21:12:10
F*****gmental😂😂.

28 Nov 2020 01:46:05
No matter what some may think, the manager will have had an input into that, and Goldson could and should simply have played the ball a long way from the keeper,

28 Nov 2020 08:55:43
Aw TT, piling on the manager again?

Our game plan is about possession so we start with the ball at the back and try to keep the ball instead of booting it up the field to give the opposition better odds of getting the ball.

It worked for 90% of the match but raw talent, luck and a bit or tiredness gave them a draw.

We played out of our skin for 90% of two matches against fantastic opposition band sit top of the group (and league) but let’s pick our the negatives.

28 Nov 2020 16:52:42
Sometimes when things start happening in games u have to react to it dk19. They cotyoned on to the goalkeeper kick staying in our own box and started putting real pressure on is. That should have been the cue to stop it. Unfortunately for us they continued and it just heaped more pressure on us as we tired.

27 Nov 2020 14:08:10
Hi

Rangers have made a fantastic start on all fronts this season and long may that continue.

Yes we should have beaten Benfica home and away but I'm not complaining its all about qualifying and bringing in much needed cash for our great club.

Even though we are probably only 5 points ahead in the league, we still have a lot to do.

Celtic have their own problems and long may that continue, we are so far ahead of them on performances and that's something they can't accept or handle.

Lennon is doing a great job and must stay.

27 Nov 2020 15:55:24
fed up with this "only five points ahead" nonsense. They have shown nothing to make it look like they will win both games in hand. We have the points in our pocket, they still have to win them.

27 Nov 2020 16:11:46
I think we are doing great so far. For a change any 'breaks' seem to be falling in our favour. Celtic have their problems but the truth is the league will be decided on the old firm games and in that respect we are top dogs at the minute and have been for 3 or 4 games.
Onward and upward, no Dubai this year so keep it going lads.

27 Nov 2020 17:46:43
11 points yeah?

27 Nov 2020 20:10:10
I think it was either Walter Smith or Graeme Souness who when asked by a journalist how do you win the league? replied simply beat Celtic!

27 Nov 2020 20:11:38
Looks like Celtic are trying to outdo us and go one better this season by imploding before Xmas, at least we waited until after Xmas last season. Hahaha.

27 Nov 2020 13:10:53
At 2-0 helander should've been put on for a forward.

27 Nov 2020 13:47:37
Agree sweep That's twice we squandered a 2 goal lead by not taking appropriate action . looked to me like stevie was frightened to take morelos off to avoid the coupon petted lip even kent should have been replaced--but onwards we go great journey.

27 Nov 2020 15:06:38
Or was unwilling to change at the time a winning side? Hindsight is a wonderful thing! Try putting a smile on yer coupon 👍.

27 Nov 2020 17:27:52
Barrow lad they guys are correct protect the lead that’s what should have happened and SG done it against Killie so I don’t know why he didn’t do it last night especially when benfica came back from behind at home.

27 Nov 2020 18:25:01
I thought the team was brilliant last night and I think its harsh to question why the manager didn't make any changes. 👍.

27 Nov 2020 21:19:35
Coldo that’s 4 later goals to benfica we have lost so yes you need to ask questions especially when he didn’t make any subs at the correct times.

Just because if the run are fans not allowed to question anything Ridiculous 👍.

27 Nov 2020 21:24:11
I agree coldo 👍.

27 Nov 2020 21:54:29
It was a quality team we were playing, a champions league team to be fair and we looked like we belonged at their level KJA9. We would have taken two draws in a heartbeat if we had the choice beforehand. I think its a little over critical giving the standard and quality of the opposition👍.

28 Nov 2020 08:58:28
Mabee we should have copied that successful Scotland formation 1 - 10 - 0favoured by that now out of work manager?

27 Nov 2020 12:50:48
A draw is always a great result if you come from behind as the Benfica Boss clearly expressed in the Press Obviously disappointing when you blow a lead but onwards we go heads held high Jack and Aribo badly missed imo. A win next week and spring football here we come . #55 May well be in the bag by then.

27 Nov 2020 12:17:59
Although we are in a good place at the moment, we need to be ralistic here. As soon as Benfica scored last night, we panicked and we ended up hanging on for a point.
Wasn't our bottle going but just got very nervous and defended deeper and deeper. I felt that game management could have been better and at least 1 sub should have been made.

27 Nov 2020 13:11:58
Goldson done the same flapping about when we played his and killie away this season.

27 Nov 2020 13:27:46
Hibs that should say.

27 Nov 2020 17:29:06
I think we bottled it last night if you start panicking and getting nervous it’s not what is needed especially the deeper we go into the season.

27 Nov 2020 18:28:17
They are top class side lads, we did very well over both games. Talking about our bottle is mind boggling. 👍.

27 Nov 2020 19:17:33
Sweep, i used to post on this site that we would win nowt with tav& goldson, tho so far this season i thought n i could be wrong, but after last nighti'dsay both are our weakest links, mate.

28 Nov 2020 09:00:56
Wow Coldo, that two of your posts I agree with.

27 Nov 2020 10:59:22
7-15 Chelmsford. Derry Boy 7/ 1".

27 Nov 2020 11:27:04
Is it a donkey?

27 Nov 2020 12:19:33
This is one Derry Boy who is not a donkey, as you will find out in seven hours time.

27 Nov 2020 12:37:38
If it's a donkey, Lennon will sign it for £2m and give it fifty grand a week.

27 Nov 2020 12:48:37
There is only one Derry Donkey 😂😂😂.

27 Nov 2020 14:41:11
Bassey should have been brought on to help barasic. most of danger came down that side. Really irksome that all our subs left sitting on bench.

27 Nov 2020 10:47:35
Team for Falkirk:

McLaughlin

Tav
Goldson
Helander
Bassey

Hagi
Jack
Aribo
Barker

Itten
Defoe.

27 Nov 2020 11:36:22
Jack ruled out.

27 Nov 2020 12:38:37
I would give Tav a rest and let Patterson show what he can do.

27 Nov 2020 13:05:01
Is Patterson not self isolating from the Scotland under 21 outbreak.

27 Nov 2020 13:19:47
Do the bouncy patterson ruled out self isolating but I'd still rest tav. we have a 18 year old right back that's meant to be really good, sorry I've forgot his name.

27 Nov 2020 13:48:55
I didn't know he was isolating, shame because this game could have been a chance for him. I'd still rest Tav though.

27 Nov 2020 13:51:33
Zungu in for Jack.

27 Nov 2020 14:33:14
Zungu out for another week.
I'm sure we have many options that should see is go through on sunday.
🔴⚪🔵.

27 Nov 2020 15:17:50
McAllister says zingu should be in squad for Sunday. We actually don’t have that many to pick from.
May see a couple of kids on bench. Airbo trained today as well.
I see the following definitely starting
McLaughlin
Tav
Helander
King
Bassey
Hagi
Barjonas
Barker
Stewart
Itten
Defoe.

Possible bench Goldston, kamara, Davis, Kent Morelos, roofe mebube Firth Dickson

This is a must win, so we won’t see a host of kids starting.

27 Nov 2020 09:59:51
While it's disappointing to lose a 2 goal lead, they are a decent side, and had it been a old fashion 2 legged tie we would have won on away goals, team still a work in progress and if this is the worst we can complain about think heading in right direction.

27 Nov 2020 10:17:48
Jack, Aribo or Zungu would have been introduced at 2 nil last night but were all injured and not available. Good result and performance.

27 Nov 2020 11:04:10
A 2-2 draw with a side who have spent tens of millions more than us on their squad is a decent result.
Ok, we lost 2 late goals, but we're still unbeaten, top of league, and one point away from qualifying for the next round, what's not to like?
Also, If he can stay fit Roofe is going to be some player for us.

27 Nov 2020 11:06:45
I think most of us were happy if we had got a draw before we blew the two goal lead that now feels like a loss again.

If we can sort out this last gasp conceding goals which has been happening for a few seasons now no doubt we will be champions this season.

Even if Doncaster voids the season again we "will" get a tainted title or it could result in legal action being taken to what looks like could be an anti Rangers board.

27 Nov 2020 11:40:29
Just a wee moan about last night. A draw against a full strength Benfica would have been a good result but they were about 7 or 8 first team regulars out and they still brought on 4 or 5 subs. As I said before, I'd like to top the group so as to avoid playing against a possible drop down from the champions league. Moan over.

27 Nov 2020 14:22:12
Watched the game on BT last night. A great start and then we seemed to sit back, not pressing enough up the park. Don't know if this was deliberate on our part, or just that Benfica didn't let us do it. The stats had them way above us by ft, and it was strange to feel slightly disappointed to draw instead of winning, but on reflection look how far we've come, unbeaten this season at home and in europe. Benfica have spent heavily and couldn't beat us, Gerrard said after the game that Benfica should be in the champions league, and i think that's a complement to us. Onwards and upwards one game at a time!

27 Nov 2020 08:24:29
Just read first few posts with criticism of only drawing last night. I thought it was a smashing game to watch and by god did they high press. We have never experienced that high press before and they had the players to do it. Two up you expect to win but that's football and fair play to Benfica. The main thing is this does not distract our League form and keep your chins up boys as we are in a good place✌️🇬🇧.

27 Nov 2020 09:59:08
Benfica were a good side. Slightly disappointed we didn't exploit they're high press by bring on Barker and using him and Kent to run behind freddo was all action but does have that burst to take him clear of defence.

27 Nov 2020 08:10:10
I'd have taken 8 points from 4 games before the Europa League group matches began. Yes, disappointing again to throw away a two-goal lead but Benfica are a class team, more of Champions League quality. Gerrard is I'm sure still learning. A win at home to Standard Liege next week and we are in the last 32. It shows how much progress the team has made when we are disappointed and frustrated with two draws against a team like Benfica! I hope Gerrard rests a few players for the Falkirk match on Sunday. We have a couple of potentially tricky away games after the Falkirk game, at Ross County and Dundee United. Winning at venues like that in the middle of winter is what winning league titles is all about. A great season so far while the unwashed implode over on the dark side.

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 27th November 2020

Benficas midfield tonight cost over 100m ours cost - Davis free, Arfield free, Kamara 50k 2 draws against them, puts things into perspective, 🇬🇧🇬🇧.

Not really because when you are 2-0 up you should be able to see it out the same as the away game 3-1 up you should be able to see it out and that’s not me getting at the team because if anyone said you would be top after 4 games I would have bit yer hand off for it.

Gus, interesting the amount of money they can spend, it, s Portugal where does it come from?

{Ed001's Note - selling players.}

27 Nov 2020 11:25:22
Nailed it Ed001. They have a much higher standard of player they can sell for big money to EPL, La Liga and other big leagues in Europe that we could only dream of. With the money they make, they can then go out and buy more young talent they can nurture and sell on for a tasty profit.

{Ed001's Note - their youth system is very good.}

27 Nov 2020 11:37:47
Are they able to get in quickly to cherry pick some of the best young Brazilian talent before others can?

{Ed001's Note - pretty much yes, they have received some huge loan fees for some of their talents as well. Spurs paid them £4m last season for Gedson Fernandes and are paying (iirc) £2.5m this season for Vinicius. But it is selling players like Joao Felix and Ruben Dias for nearly £200m in the last 2 seasons that is the main reason they can spend.}

27 Nov 2020 11:55:08
We can only dream of this Ed001. Ah, well!

{Ed001's Note - it takes a long time to build a youth system mate. Ten years, minimum. You need a lot more coaches than the British clubs use, which is why they lag behind the continent. The quality of the coaches and number of them is much higher. Clubs should stop obsessing over ex-players and pricing the rest out of coaching badges and things would improve in the UK. Coaching is a very specific skill and is totally different from playing, but any coaches that haven't played at the top level struggle to advance in the UK.}

27 Nov 2020 12:10:01
Is it not mainly due to a Portuguese law that enables them to bring in Brazilians without problems on the basis that Brazil used to be a colony?

{Ed001's Note - no, but they do have it easier as they can get a work permit more easily than in the UK. Though UK-based teams have a whole Commonwealth of countries to cherry pick players from too.}

27 Nov 2020 12:16:21
You would think all the money the EPL clubs generate they would invest it wisely in creating a top notch set up to nurture their own talent instead of paying fortunes on foreign players?
Maybe having too much money has created this monster where it's easier to go out and buy the best instead of developing the best?

{Ed001's Note - there are steps being taken in that direction, the problem is getting them into the team when they are produced.}

26 Nov 2020 22:28:48
Can't believe at 2-0 up Gerrard doesn't make any changes . they make 4 and the game changes . We really should have put ourselves on easy Street but I would have taken a draw before kick off.

27 Nov 2020 08:09:00
I believe if Jack or Aribo had been available and on the bench then Gerrard would have made a change, most of our options on the bench were forward thinking players. If Jack fit and on the bench he comes on and I believe he would have made the difference to ensure we won that game. I know people will say he didn’t make the difference in 3-3 game but he was on from start in that game.

27 Nov 2020 08:52:00
So who would you have changed, and for who? Would you have changed a defender? Nope. Maybe one of the forwards but when we were 2 nil up would that really of made a difference, plus the ones that were on were still threatening. I imagine he probably did want to freshen up the midfield as they were tiring and that’s where Benfica had made their first 2 changes and brought on fresh legs and it made the difference for them. However as Jack, Aribo and Zungu all weren’t available, who would you of brought on? It’s ok saying ‘why didn’t he make changes? ’ But you have to look at what the options actually were. No point in just throwing someone on if it might actually weaken the team. Unfortunately with what we had available the team that was on was the best option we had.

27 Nov 2020 09:20:26
Agree mate, the way both games went was a bit gutted we didn’t win both but in saying that if you had offered me draws in both games against Benfica I’d have taken it.

27 Nov 2020 09:31:10
Aye Robbie; not like he needed to save them for the weekend.

27 Nov 2020 17:24:19
Robbie, if we needed to change it was in the midfield, and we had nobody to bring on, plans went pop, with jack, aribo, and zungu, late injuries mate.

26 Nov 2020 22:25:54
The Europa league we won't win and last 16 would be a win-win for a number of reasons -keep the focus on #55 --That's where its at for me the rest is all just good telly watching -hopefully the Directors are looking out for a replacement for Gerard because after #55 he will be gone A Legend for ever at Ibrox for sure.

27 Nov 2020 08:53:28
Agree with your first point, we won’t win the EL.

Not so sure about the rest of your comments.

27 Nov 2020 17:25:07
Deecee, there is no dangers gerrard will move if we win the league, only interest is in liverpool job, apart from that he is loving it at our place,
