Just watched the development squad game vs man utd. What a lesson utd gave us. Seriously men against boys. Every area of the park they looked fitter, technically better, stronger.
We have a long way to go to reach that level. A good lesson for our boys. I feel games like this will only help with their development as it will give them a better idea of the levels they need to get to, to succeed in the game at our club.

You could see it a mile away . The utd boys even in terms of size were far superior. Technically different class. We were well off it . Harsh lesson but they and we as a club must learn this us our future . We must invest in the young lads and give them a chance to get to a decent level and hopefully we can take the cream and get them into the first team .

Guys most of our 19s and 20s were involved in the Mansfield game today. We had mainly 16/ 17 year olds up against Man Utd 21s so the size and development gap was always going to be the case and was expected. That game can’t be used as any kinda gauge or marker.

Most definitely andy halliday should and will get a new contract. He never let's you down can cover a few positions and you need someone like andy, within the squad. He won't play every week, but he knows that. But i'll tell you this, there's a lot he brings to the squad and a good few can take a leaf from his book. He gives everything for the rangers jersey and his will and attitude is spot on and is something gerrard loves. He's been on record many times praising halliday and calls him a rangers nut. He's got some heart which our club needs.

Andy is what our club is founded on. A normal kid that's come from not much to achieve something above everybody's expectations. To be put down at every turn and loaned out to middle earth. Humiliated by his opponents supporters and the media. Only to come back and fight for his club no matter what, on the pitch a warrior and off the pitch a gentleman, a true Ranger if I've ever seen one.

Do you remember Alan Hutton? Some Rangers fans gave him pelters week in week out for some reason, then we sold him for 9 million and he's played at the top level ever since. Andy Halliday has the heart of a lion and would put his body on the line to stop a goal against us and is easily the best left back at Ibrox. I for one would give him a 3 year deal and would be happy to have him as our left back.

I never said andy halliday should be in our starting 11,i never said because he has the heart for the battle that he should be in our starting 11,i never said andy was a world-beater, all i did say was i think he deserves a new contract to be part of our squad, as he can cover a few positions if we get injuries or players lose form. Since steven gerrard became our manager, andy halliday hasn't let anyone down, when he's played. Steven gerrard also said as much regarding what he thinks of halliday. So go try and put words in the manager's mouth. IMO halliday should and i think will get a new contract, AS PART OF A SQUAD AND TO COVER! There you go.

Lads please don’t confuse my opinion of AH as being critical of him as he has made the best of average talent and his heart and commitment has helped him stay at Ibrox longer than probably he expected. I would like nothing better than a boy from Copland Rd to be first choice left back
The point is that when previously we were good enough to win the league we had Sasa Papac, Arthur Numan or David Robertson. This is the standard we need to win the league. If he remains and gets a contract he will always be supported because of his commitment and being a supporter but if he plays on regular basis it highlights the weakness of team/ squad and I don’t think we can win the league with that standard of player in any position.

I think bringing in the manager was the best thing rangers have done in a long time.
its allowed us to bring in top players and have got celtic running scared of us.
I believe we have our best chance of winning the league this season.
if we win the league this time, the manager will stay to have a crack at the champions league, if we don't sg will go on to manage another club.
then we will be lucky to find an other manager like him.

To go into a 3 rd season for him not winning the title in the previous 2 might be to much pressure and many clubs around would snap him up! Just reiterating what you guys are saying. Very proud that steven gerrard is the rangers manager. He brings a fantastic professionalism to rangers, as the guy is a total winner throughout his football career. His name is iconic worldwide and that most definitely gives you a much better chance when we're trying to sign players, other clubs want.
With us being his first job he's obviously starting his managerial career at a massive worldwide institution where 2nd best is as well as being last! Very high pressure job, but steven gerrard embraces pressure and won't run away from it! I totally agree with you yately1,when you state you still feel amazed he is our manager. I get that mate because i feel the same thing! He will IMHO go on to become a terrific manager and he and us bears will always point to the fact that he started as a manager with the famous glasgow rangers! I think he will win silverware this season and it could be the league, because we will run the eastend mob close, i feel. Really impressed with the quality of squad stevie G is assembling. The last piece of the jigsaw for this season i hope is ryan kent. Because like coldo says often on here, i think if we can bring him back even on a season long loan deal, he would be the best we would have, for his position. I rate and like ojo, jones, murphy and hastie, but truth be told, kent is better than any of them. Again that is only my honest opinion.

Get kent, play defoe up top, flanagan at left back. League is in the bag. Ie, mcgregor tav goldson katic flanagan jack kamara davis arfield kent defoe👍. Aribo edmundson could easily be in there. That team would tear this league to bits, infact that team was more consistent over 7 games where we dominated and blew teams away. Last done by a rangers team in 2011. Before that team was put together just before the split we stuttered and struggled with inconsistency. 👍.

I also think Morelos is seen by SG as number 1 striker and will start most games, unless a big offer comes in of course! Really hope we get Kent back too, opposition defences are terrified of him!

Although still very early days, but already george edmundson looks to be a bargain signing at 700k. When it was rumoured we were very keen on hearts centre half john souttar, i personally thought he would be a good signing and was at a good young age,
to be developed into a very good centre half,
if we had went on to sign him. But now already in the games i've seen edmundson play, i think he's a cut above souttar and i'm delighted our DOF mark allen and our scouting team identified him. He looks an absolute steal at 700k and with futher development at ibrox, looks like he could go on to be a cracking centre half.

My opinion is corners are huge loss in revenue. Personally never watch screens because too far away anyway but IAH believe 10,000 more season tickets in lost revenue. There is revenue in advertising but how much don't know.

Think before we all start putting a fee on players let's maybe consider the fee we would need to pay for a same standard player to replace who we may sell I'm sure we would not want to downgrade on what we have in the squad .
