Rangers Banter Archive January 27 2020

Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

27 Jan 2020 22:29:19
I feel there is a massive problem in the right wing with rangers and with tav not playing it shows even more without his pace and engine along that side we need a other tricky fast winger and right now upfront I'd play aribo big strong and skilld.

27 Jan 2020 23:26:38
We should never allowed Murphy to leave on loan play Kent on the right and Murph on the left.

A wee question fellow bears on the left who would you have more trust in Murph JJ or Barker.

28 Jan 2020 04:57:38
Murphy all the way Stewarty. Never understood Barker transfer, Jones dug himself a grave.

28 Jan 2020 05:55:08
Totally with yourself stewartyyblue.
I would trust/ have jamie murphy all day long, before jones or barker. An absolute no brainer for me mate! šŸ‘.

28 Jan 2020 09:19:51
Barker transfer and candaeas move why Mark Allen not at Rangers.
Who gives someone a 3.5 year deal at 10k a week, he could never stay fit or get a game at any club he signed for.
No wonder Gerrard said him or Allen.

27 Jan 2020 21:34:51
Potential curve ball here.
What about Jason Cummings
Dont think he ever got a fair crack at Ibrox. Not quite the physicality of morelos but a wee pest nonetheless could even play out wide as well.

27 Jan 2020 22:10:53
Nope 100% not good enough. Already failed at peterborough forest luton. Scored goals for hibs in championship. And was poor at us.

27 Jan 2020 22:20:44
Cambuslang - I posted with the same suggestion the other day and was shot down. My thinking is he'd be a good back-up.

27 Jan 2020 22:32:01
Not a chance ever .

27 Jan 2020 20:42:46
1 to 11 we are as good if not better than celtic the problems come when we lose 2 or 3 1st choice players our strength in depth is poor. I hope we don't come to regret not changing things up by even some1 on loan especial wide right or up front.

27 Jan 2020 19:51:21
Can you do a poll for what player we would prefer at right back
Cheers

{Ed033's Note - For a poll, I need question and possible voting options

27 Jan 2020 23:34:21
I think heā€™s asking when Tav is out would we rather have Polster, Flanagan or Patterson?

28 Jan 2020 06:13:29
Polster as it stands for me, Patterson definitely one to slowly start getting minutes in games we have done the business in early doors.

27 Jan 2020 17:17:41
Wilfred bony free agent think he would do good for rangers. Big wage but no transfer fee

27 Jan 2020 18:11:01
Bluebell, Wilfried Bony hasn't played a game in 6 months. What sort of shape will he be in? Good player 4 or 5 years ago but it will take him months to get up to match speed so I have to disagree with this one pal.

27 Jan 2020 18:45:43
Mr Doiger, your reply to my first time post last week about a team who don't strengthen don't win the league and sends the title to the East End of Glasgow was if I remember correctly. Nonsense negativity as you felt we had enough in the locker and you felt we had enough cover.

Well Mr Doiger after yesterday's performance where the class of most of our team is under debate let alone even looking at our non entity of a bench does Mr Doiger still feel that strengthening our squad is unnecessary?

27 Jan 2020 19:37:32
We haven't become a poor team overnight, we have a good squad and need to get some confidence back and assert ourselves on the opposition. SG will get them bouncing back.

27 Jan 2020 19:42:36
Bony was fat when he played every week, god knows what heā€™s like now.

27 Jan 2020 22:37:37
Guys, I still can't get my head around the ineptitude of our last 3 performances, we should have come back from Dubai full of confidence totally refreshed and buzzing. There is not the same winning mentality being shown by us, and let's not kid ourselves, Ross County and Aberdeen will be stiff tests which hopefully we will pass with flying colours and get moving again. For me, Polster has to start at Right Back, with Edmundson in the defensive Midfield role supported by Davis and Arfield, just a thought.

28 Jan 2020 06:15:04
I would rather have dykes than bony, like said above bony will not be ready to go and has never played well for years. Dykes would give us the option of changing it up if needed.

28 Jan 2020 08:03:29
Dear Mr Foreverthegers. I like the formality of your post. Like everyone else who posts on this site, I am entitled to my opinion. I think panic buying in this window would be a mistake. We SHOULD have enough talent in the squad to do without Morelos or Tavernier for 2 or 3 games. One man doesn't make a team. I watched the highlights of the Hearts game again and though we didn't play well I can't believe the chances that fell to Defoe, Aribo, etc. So I appreciate your comments but I'll stick to the view that panicking won't solve anything.

28 Jan 2020 09:22:22
U r right doiger, not a time to panic buy, Iā€™d like a couple of loans in.
Great to see guys that canā€™t hack it move on hopefully, ie Barker and billy big boots Jones.

27 Jan 2020 17:06:56
I have a solution to one of our problems. Gerrard tells Morelos next red card is your last game for Rangers.

27 Jan 2020 17:26:57
Don't know about it being his last game if he gets another red but we really need him to be on the pitch. A massive miss when he's not there also how much do we miss Tav. A bad result yesterday but we need to stick together and push on all is far from done. šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§.

27 Jan 2020 18:12:55
Yup that would work - send our best player into the wilderness, minimise his transfer fee and lose the league.
Jeez.

27 Jan 2020 18:20:03
I don't think this team should rely on 2 players - Tav and Morelos? We should be experienced enough to take care of a bottom of the league team. That's a concern for me.

28 Jan 2020 00:14:29
Aye tell our main scorer next reds his last. thatl work. and while your at it tell kent next time he doesn't show his 7 million quid worth he's not getting his dinner . n tavs grounded for bein injured. mcgregors in the bad books for cuttin a fingernail n defoes getting sent to his room for not scorin yesterday. get a grip.

27 Jan 2020 17:02:38
How is jake hastie playing
Is he playing well if so would he be worth taking him back off loan

And how about just hold on too docherty and start giving his some game time
He actually is a good football player

After weekends performance these guys deserve a crack.

27 Jan 2020 18:07:10
Thestigno he canā€™t get a game at Rotherham not started in months.

27 Jan 2020 18:33:18
As much as I agree Docherty deserves his chance I just don't think Gerard fancies him and he'll never get a chance. Jack, Davis, and Kamara are not box to box midfielders - Docherty is. But as I said, he'll never get a chance under Gerard.

27 Jan 2020 18:35:38
Letā€™s start by getting the goal difference up against Ross county.

27 Jan 2020 19:03:36
Docherty not playing because heā€™s not good enough did none of you people watch him.

27 Jan 2020 19:28:21
Trying to think out the box here lol

We need too improve and last 3 games have been awfull
And still say Defoe is not he answer or Morelos doesnā€™t stay for or stay on pitch for some reason or another

And kamara and Aribo been playing rubbish
Barker not the answer
Ojo not the answer

There is nobody on the bench who can come on and change things
Weā€™re so lacking itā€™s unbelievable for a club our size and wages we pay out

We canā€™t depend on same 11 playing from start to finish through a whole season.

27 Jan 2020 20:12:41
Molsgoals itā€™s three points we need, hopefully with a decent performance.

27 Jan 2020 16:50:20
ill put this to bed---WE NEED A 6 YARD BOX MAN and a right winger ---Alfie has proven himself to be a great goalscorer but can't stay on the pitch and its costing us---JD is past it but will make a great addition to the coaching team and as a 3rd place back up to AM and the new guy----All this outside the box one two's is all very well ----but we need a hitman ---now.

27 Jan 2020 18:14:24
Defoe is as good a 6 yard box player as any other in Scotland.

Not fit enough to do the sole striker unless he gets great service - he did not last night.

27 Jan 2020 18:29:40
Defoe past it! Get a grip look at his goal returns per min played I agree heā€™s not a starter but what an impact player.

27 Jan 2020 20:06:10
he should be 2nd or 3rd start behind Alfie---great 6 yard box man in his day but as proven yesterday he is a yard off the mark---impact player absolutely against bottom 6 clubs and at ibrox. if Alfie gets injured we are flucked--and just a reminder -no striker has scored against celtic ---ally used to score against them for fun---.

28 Jan 2020 00:09:56
Oh for a McCoist right now.

27 Jan 2020 14:40:38
This wonā€™t be a popular opinion, but in all the ā€œwe need another strikerā€ furore - thereā€™s nobody who knows what it takes to play for this club and win titles like Naismith. He was the best player on the park yesterday and led from the front. Heā€™s expressed his regret many times at the way he left the club, if we went and took him off Hearts now you canā€™t tell me he wouldnā€™t burst a gut to win us the title. Clever player, makes those around him better, gives 100% every game and leads by example. Would take him in a heartbeat and is a far better option to lead the line when Morelos is injured than Defoe. He would also be able to play on the right of our front 3 and Iā€™m sure he would chip in with goals and set plenty up for Alfie.

27 Jan 2020 15:17:34
F**k that wee rat steven naismith!
Don't want him anywhere near our club, ever again. Just because he scored against us, behave yourself mate. That little weasel made his bed and he sure as hell can lie in it!

27 Jan 2020 15:27:07
yeah go begging to that rat.

27 Jan 2020 15:39:21
No the swagman. Taking away all the 'baggage' he's very injury prone. Can we improve the squad, of course. Naismith is not the answer.

27 Jan 2020 15:41:03
I remember when you posted you were a better player than Tav because youā€™d played at Amateur level. I thought that was your worst ever post until the above! šŸ˜³.

27 Jan 2020 16:01:32
People need to get a grip with cutting off your nose to spite your face. Would he do a job ON THE PITCH? Seem to remember similar rage from the fans when we signed Kenny Miller back or Mo Johnston.

27 Jan 2020 16:02:19
Pacman, good combination of paraphrasing and downright lies there mate, well done šŸ‘.

27 Jan 2020 16:20:53
People need to get a grip with cutting your nose to spite your face regarding over-reacting to a poor game/ defeat theswagman? šŸ¤”
Naismith? Behave.

27 Jan 2020 16:53:51
Again, would he do a job ON THE PITCH? Yes he would. Score a couple a the piggery and Iā€™m sure all would be forgiven, only took Boyd making a couple of sly digs on the telly for us to forgive him his sins.

27 Jan 2020 16:58:05
SGL can I ask why such an angry response when McGregor, Davis and Lafferty all walked out and came back?

27 Jan 2020 17:18:24
g4rry because he said a few mean word that hurt poor SGLs feelings šŸ˜¢.

27 Jan 2020 17:27:42
Different scenarios g4rry. If you read any of my posts i also stated we shouldn't have went back near that also big waster lafferty. Him and naismith said far too much regarding what they were doing and thought of rangers, when they couldn't wait to leave in our admin years. Davo and mcgregor Never said a bad thing about our club, or anything about doing any wrongdoing to hurt us. Wee davo got us 800k into the bargain. There's your answer my friend, some have short memories on both of these waste of space, so call love the club ex players.

27 Jan 2020 18:16:08
Drop the bile about these ex players - if SG thinks Naisy is what we need, all supporters should back him.

End of!

27 Jan 2020 18:37:29
SGL - I'd like to add to that - twice he received career threatening injuries and twice Rangers nursed him back to full fitness, then he does 1. It's a big Naie from me!

27 Jan 2020 18:35:23
Well said Coops. Damn straight. I loved wee Naismith when he was here but the wee rat can go do one. Never want to see him at Ibrox ever again unless its on losing sides.

27 Jan 2020 19:03:05
As far as I'm concerned seeker, if you hurt the club some of us all love, you hurt the supporters also mate. Some need to think long and hard to what i'm talking about here.
Again f**k steven naismith and don't want him near or associated with glasgow rangers and me as a supporter who follows the club everywhere ever again, simple as that!

27 Jan 2020 19:07:38
Coop, You are right heā€™s a RAT and have always said so!
Wagman, go back and look at his press conference and thatā€™s totally unforgivable šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§.

27 Jan 2020 19:49:12
Angry a the wrong folk here lads. He was a daft wee boy in his early 20s who said something stupid at a time where nobody knew what was going on because the club was overrun with actual rats, crooks who genuinely didnā€™t care and would destroy our club to make a fast buck. All of you who never said anything regrettable when you were Young well done, enjoy chucking stones. But if you have like the rest of us made a mistake, remember you did that without cameras pointed in your face every day, journalists telling lies at every turn and a bunch of conmen threatening to wreck your career. I would rather be the bigger man and act in a manner befitting our great organisation rather than be that petty. If Naismith signed I would judge him on the man and player he is now, not who he was 10 years ago. Iā€™m sure all of you would like people to treat you the same rather than cast up your past mistakes. šŸ’™.

27 Jan 2020 21:30:04
Naismith was excellent yesterday and his performance represented everything we lacked in the game.

27 Jan 2020 22:03:56
Correct Bankie. Once again ON THE PITCH is what matters.

27 Jan 2020 14:33:04
Heading up to the Ross County game on Wednesday night. First game in years and years. Hoping to see a response after the disappointment of yesterday. I don't think Hearts will finish bottom mind but still, a poor performance. There is a lot of football to come and I still believe Celtic will drop points. MON THE TEDDY BEARS!

27 Jan 2020 18:24:39
heading up to where mate?

27 Jan 2020 20:17:37
Heading up to Ibrox. I'm based in Cumbria now.

28 Jan 2020 09:42:27
Mcjie. I love Cumbria. Great place for walking.

27 Jan 2020 13:55:01
Here we go, one defeat and a boy unproven at any level above the second division of one of the poorest leagues in Europe becomes the messiah, Saviour Shankland to become Roy Of The Rangers. Give it a rest, for crying out loud, we had a bad day but I, as a supporter, trust the management and players to ensure it doesn't happen again. And I've always said we need another striker, but he has to be far better than the Messiah.

27 Jan 2020 15:27:13
Let me tell you . I would have Shankland any time at the expense of Ojo . Jones must be worse than dreadful if he can't get on pitch ahead of Ojo .

27 Jan 2020 18:00:59
That's like saying you'd prefer a centre half to MacGregor. The two players you mention aren't good enough, so you want to replace them with yet another one who isn't good enough? Smart thinking, Hunty boy.

27 Jan 2020 18:10:18
Shankland is a goal scorer and a credible OPTION not a MESSIAH, maybe not the best option but still an option given our apparent budget at this point in time
Morelos was playing in the Finish league where many are part time, Vardy was playing in 7 leagues below where he is just now but oh right, according to your logic that is just not the type of player we want. P@sh pal.

27 Jan 2020 18:26:09
Shankland is 25, if he was going to make it big he would have by now.

27 Jan 2020 19:14:51
Why everyone is transfixed on Shankland surely there is a wee gem of a striker out there somewhere in Europe or elsewhere surely this is what Wilson was brought in to do. Problem is, itā€™s obvious we have no money to spend after buying Kent. This is why we wonā€™t win the league. Group of players have been punching above their weight and have done well but itā€™s difficult to keep that up.

27 Jan 2020 13:16:00
You are correct to a degree molsgols, that was a team with our fighting captain and a striker bang on form, that team who ran out at Tynecastle the other night were an embarrassment to the famous. Don't be scared to speak your mind now.

27 Jan 2020 14:10:38
After sleeping on it and reflecting on the game yest WELL I'M STILL BLOODY ANGRYYYY šŸ˜¬šŸ˜¬.

27 Jan 2020 14:42:23
H dunnit it wasn't that long ago that people were slating tav saying he needed dropped or/ and stripped of the armband, now folk saying we badly miss him etc etc. The bottom line is that rangers should be able to field a team to beat a side with no wins in 10.

27 Jan 2020 15:05:46
Sorry dunnit . am angry too šŸ¤Øno offence my friend
Hopefully we will get a reaction . one thing . Steve is raging .
unlike McInnes who accepts defeat
And lemon who praises his team no matter what

Sort it stevo.

27 Jan 2020 12:47:53
Why does Stevie G, keeping changing our style of play, if you look over the season. we play our best football when we play a high pressing game, but then he changes it AGAIN! He said when he first came in the high pressing game is the style of football his teams will play quote *i want my players coming off that field drenched in sweat *from a high pressing game, he does it against the so called bigger teams, then he changes it against the weaker teams, No player can hide when playing this style, unlike yesterday.

27 Jan 2020 14:46:12
Bluesash, hearts never allowed us to play our high pressing game, as they played a high pressing game themselfs.

27 Jan 2020 15:08:38
I think hearts just high pressed better . donā€™t think tactics changed . They just played better simple .

27 Jan 2020 17:07:31
our high press should be better than their high press. lol.

Played gash, and let's face it, it was expected, at least by me. they were rubbish since they came back, just like last year. beat Celtic and think its job done.
They have thrown the league away with their lazy halfhearted approach. . An SG is partly to blame with selections. flan shouldn't be near the first team.

27 Jan 2020 18:40:13
As bad as we were yesterday, "thrown the league away" is well over the top. So many games left.

27 Jan 2020 12:21:22
As soul destroying as yesterday was, it is still all to play for lads. I keep reading that Celtic won't drop points but they will. They haven't exactly been glittering either. They have some really tricky games on the horizon. Agree with most tho that we need fresh faces to lift the place. Also, I can't believe Morelos has came through this pretty unscathed. He is costing us points by not being available. I love the guy to bits but he is constantly letting us down. Would love to know the points won and lost over all his banned periods. I don't think we have ever won all games when he's not been available. It's costing us big time!

27 Jan 2020 13:12:29
Morelos missing is costing us dear however sad indictment that we can't beat the bottom of league team without him. Really poor display although thought Polster looked good- midfield players getting in each others way and Defoe had a shocker.

27 Jan 2020 14:59:29
Without Tav we are far too narrow, middle of the park gets congested. Aribo and Kent play too close to the striker so we have no width other than Borna. Polster looked decent though, hope him or Patterson start on Wednesday.

27 Jan 2020 15:10:57
We had a run of games last year where we were scoring 4 and 5 without Alfie and Defoe was the beez knees
Time to tighten the belt.

27 Jan 2020 15:23:52
I said a thousand times on here that tav bashers would only realise how good he is for rangers, in the way we play, when he was out injured. Well my good friends, its glaring and you know now. Flannagan in our system can't get up by the half way line and we're lop sided when he plays.

27 Jan 2020 11:54:25
I posted on Wedneday night on return from game re how poor the last two home performances were and the warning signs were there for Hearts. We haven't returned well from break yet again and we need attacking two players in at least on loan who can create chances especially from midfield and right side. I hope Stevie G has a couple of players lined up even on loan lined otherwise we are not winning this league. Its painful to say but we were outfought yesterday. Tav and Morelos were a massive miss and I would bring in Edmonson for Katic and A
rfield for Kamara assuming Jack is fit on Wednesday night . One more mistake and they could be out of sight and uncatchable as they won't drop many points against teams like Hearts.

27 Jan 2020 13:59:31
steviec71, what did Katic do wrong to incur your wrath? As for not winning the league, you're taking hysteria to a new level, mate, if we win all our remaining games we win the thing!

27 Jan 2020 14:36:31
the covenantor - Katic had a nightmare yesterday just like a few others. Edmonson is a good centre half and has never put a foot wrong when he gets a rare chance. A few changes required for Wednesday and this would be one.

27 Jan 2020 10:29:04
No heart and no fight in this team, time to start playing with the young boys and see what they're made off, sick of us just bending over and accepting this mince.

27 Jan 2020 11:18:08
Terrible post dunnit you were not saying that a few weeks ago when we anialated manks .
keep the faith . one result and we Impload like them?
They are killing them selves laughing at posts such as yours.

27 Jan 2020 11:40:44
Who dunnit should be your name. What a terrible post. One defeat and suddenly everything is all over. We've a run of home games coming up so let's see how they go. Nobody expects us not to drop the odd point and the unwashed will drop points too. They've to come to Ibrox in March. If we can win our game in hand and stay no worse than 2 points behind for that game, we're back to where we were if we win it. There's more twists and turns to come but Morelos MUST not cost us again by getting sent off.

27 Jan 2020 11:54:47
I agree wi you DOIGER it's too early to throw in the towel (lose more games tho and it won't be much longer) .

Can't see the mob dropping points unless against us tho.

27 Jan 2020 12:29:24
If we win our game in hand itā€™s 2 points behind we would have been happy with that at this stage if we had been offered it at start of season. There is still lot of football to be played to say league is over is way ott. Every Gers fan has a right to be unhappy about yesterday but we are still in this title race so stay calm.

27 Jan 2020 14:01:34
H Dunnit, your post is in jest, right? Or maybe you were drunk? If not, go see a doctor, because you have serious issues.

27 Jan 2020 09:48:40
Rudderless display yesterday! Lacking fight desire and ability! Guys like Flanagan had a chance yesterday and failed badly as did most of our normal starters! Remember same thing happened after winter break last season, that's 3 games now and we have struggled badly! Defensively weak, second to most balls, second best in tackles, lacking killer instinct! Could we have done with Alfredo yesterday? I'd say aye, but he was busy live streaming himself watching the game. sorry Alfredo like the guys who actually played yesterday you also let us down yesterday due to your lack of dissapline.

27 Jan 2020 10:23:45
Being saying since Stevie arived bgate, our defence is abysmal, how many times have we been in front then drew or lost in past seasons.

The win over the manks has gone to thei heads.

27 Jan 2020 10:30:08
Ye second to most 50/ 50,s yesterday bullied and outfought if they donā€™t get stuck in these games could be another trophyless season.

27 Jan 2020 11:28:41
You do not get to the last 32 I. Europa league with an abysmal defence . and I donā€™t care what anyone says .
one bad result three mediocre performances
But way to early for the Lynch mob.

27 Jan 2020 13:48:45
Definitely gone to their heads, for the second year in a row we've assumed by winning the last match in December we've actually won something. Nope still no silverware and playing like yesterday there never will be.

27 Jan 2020 09:02:39
gutted at the result, credit to hearts who wanted it more. Thought Flanagan had a shocker along with Kamara. Main point is if we are seriously thinking of letting Polster go then that's a massive mistake he was standout from the moment he got on the park yesterday, that's every game he's come on or played he's worked hard and read the game well with passing to the front.
Regarding the title we will see the persons from the east drop points. it was a bad day
Regroup, onward and upwards
55 is coming home.

27 Jan 2020 10:41:04
Polster actually looked good considering
Attacking quick etc

Whatā€™s gerrard problem with him?

Too much pals act

I canā€™t see us doing it now
Just not enough grit in the team to last a full season

Bitterly disappointed we have let our chance slip so quickly after the winter break

Sick and tired having hopes up just to have them estriued from lack lustre displays and determination from a squad of players getting paid a fortune
I turn up to work and gave that I would have my p45.

27 Jan 2020 12:08:51
I agree there is a bit of a pale act with our gaffer although I live the guy. He has a problem with Jones, will play ojo or people out of position instead of him, besotted with Defoe so we donā€™t have a third option as a striker if itā€™s not working for him like yesterday. He wants Helander over Katic even though most of us feel Katic is our best CB and Polster who looks good can barely get in the squad never mind in front of Flanagan for the bench.

27 Jan 2020 17:11:55
I agree Blue Sea. I thought Polster was excellent. A clever player with the ball at his feet and can pick a pass. And he has a good turn of pace. And he can play in midfield if required. I'd definitely keep him but then I'm not the manager. I just think for him to come on in a difficult match like that and acquit himself so well was good to see.

27 Jan 2020 08:58:45
Simple solution to yesterday's debacle - man up and win every game till end of season.

PS - bring in Shankland and Nesbitt.

Simple summary of the game, hearts desire to avoid relegation was greater than rangers desire to win the league title. That's it in a nutshell.

27 Jan 2020 08:33:41
Unfortunately I didn't see the game yesterday but when I got the score flash up on my phone I must say I wasnt surprised. The tempo and lack of invention to create clear cut chances in the previous 2 games were a bit worrying and heading to Tynecastle on the back of those 2 performances had me worried.

Like i say i didn't see the game but i will say that i can't see a Gerrard team lacking desire. He leads from the front with his passion to win and i still think he'll lead us to the title. let's hope the last 3 games have well and trully dusted off the cobwebs and we put on a show this midweek.

27 Jan 2020 08:48:01
Have to disagree donā€™t see us winning the league we are lacking that little bit of extra quality and we have no money to plug the gap. Hearts desire on the day was greater than rangers it was plain to see. Agree the desire is there no question but yesterday hearts determination was far greater than that of any rangers player and that does not win titles.

27 Jan 2020 09:12:37
Muppet, get real!

EST defence in the league, in Europe, within touching distance of top and yet youā€™ve written us off?

3 poor games = 2 wins. We donā€™t have many poor games and we know how to beat Celtic.

27 Jan 2020 09:38:01
Agreed dk19.

27 Jan 2020 11:20:43
We were just a tad complacent, . letā€™s see what happens
Looking for a big big response now.

27 Jan 2020 13:51:44
We beat Celtic once. in 3! Once. We don't have "the beating" of Celtic. We did what we did last year. One big performance before the feet up in the sun. Yet expect that one win and 3 points to see us through. Nope!?

27 Jan 2020 17:12:47
The good thing is the guys have shown that we can be the best team in the league. We need to dig deep. It can still be done.

Although against hearts we were disappointing, it's not always going to be win. Some of you on here are acting like the league is over. we've only been beat twice this season so let's all calm down. we still have our game in hand ( potential 3 points ) and them to play twice ( another 6 points) and i guarantee celtic won't keep winning.

Both us and celtic will continue to drop points this season. Someone on here slating defoe saying he shouldn't have got a deal. because he didn't play well yesterday. that's just a joke. The guys an animal in front of goal and 1 game doesn't justify how good this guy really is.

Even the worlds best have off days. don't get me wrong . if we keep playing the way we have been in the last 3 games i can see us dropping more points than them but to be honest can't get any worse than yesterday. its fine when we play like this and win but different when there's no 3 points at the end .

let's hope next games different and we get back to the form we were in before the new year. do i still believe we will be there at the end. of course i do. Do i still believe 55 is coming. Yes i do. Do i still trust gerrard. Without a doubt.1 bad game doesn't determine a season. So whoever yous are slating my team .

have a little faith. a little trust and a whole lot of heart and unless the league table shows its impossible to win the league then keep believing. maybe gerrard was wrong in not signing anyone in winter break so now he's got to show us he was right with that decision and i trust he will.

we ain't always going to win but believe me fellow bears. We will be there come may. we will all be there. ibrox stadium singing our hearts out as gerrard and co lift the trophy high.

27 Jan 2020 08:18:11
"i guarantee celtic won't keep winning".
Nonsense statement. How can you possibly guarantee that.

27 Jan 2020 09:13:43
I guarantee that stop the 9 isnā€™t talking nonsense!

27 Jan 2020 17:14:01
By all accounts they were lucky not to lose goals in the first half on Saturday before Father Clancy gifted them a pen. Their luck must run out at some point.

27 Jan 2020 07:41:30
With everyone getting excited about needing another striker which I agree we do ... But the one MAJOR position that needs sorted yesterday is right mid get a winger in and let aribo play in the middle and get kamara out as he's absolutely rubbish take to long on the ball all the time and yet again we're published for it

27 Jan 2020 08:35:28
We have JJ. That game was crying out for him yesterday.

27 Jan 2020 00:50:43
First time poster. Very disappointing performance today never got our passing game going at all, very direct all game which does not suit Defoe at all. Hearts brought us down to their level today, and didn't allow us to play. Think we need a wee bit more this transfer window to add to the squad. Can anyone honestly be filled with confidence when you're chasing a game and you see the likes of Ojo, Barker and Jones (dury still out on), sitting on the bench. We lack creativity without Tavenier and we lack that presence and power in the final third without Morelos. 8 straight wins is a must now!

27 Jan 2020 07:44:28
Welcome JG54, i'm not a long time member of this group but they've made me feel welcome. apart from a select 1 or 2 who are constantly moaning. you'll eventually figure out who they are.

But most of them SGL, C OF IBROX, SEEKER, PAUL ELLEN? MOLSGOALS etc. are all good guys. friendly and always welcoming. i agree with the must keep winning but both rangers and celtic will drop more points and us fans just need to believe gerrard knows what he's doing and let's just hope they drop more points than we do.

27 Jan 2020 12:12:19
Cheers for the name check buddy lol not a bad fella yersel šŸ¤.

28 Jan 2020 00:11:19
Question mark was due to my fat fingers so apologies for that. John25 sorry i missed you out.

27 Jan 2020 00:43:45
Letā€™s hear from the many, many people who over the last few weeks have been saying we donā€™t need to strengthen. This might have been a blessing in disguise, might wake the manager up from this fantasyland heā€™s been living in where our squad is good enough.

27 Jan 2020 06:32:13
We won't bring anyone in, the talk from Gerard and DoF this window has been about reducing the squad. What we have will be here until the summer and as we saw yesterday and against Stranraer and St Mirren aren't good enough on a consistent basis.

27 Jan 2020 07:29:01
Exactly. People saying we don't need a striker. Course we do . If Alfie is going to keep getting suspended we can't reply on Defoe. I said it a few weeks ago. Look. at our MF. Yes we've been great but there is not one bit of pace there. Davis is great at passing, jack been brilliant but posted missing since the old firm and Kamara has nice touches but no end product. We need a player with legs in there who is going to get about pitch.

The first thing SG should be doing in training is get players to use their weaker foot . We need a striker asap. Get a loan in at least till the end of the season. I know I keep saying JJ but he's got to get a run. The boy started the season on fire. Ok he stupidly got sent off against the tic bit so did El buffalo. Drop the dead wood SG.

27 Jan 2020 08:38:19
Dare I say it, a player with legs and desire in midfield? Heā€™s already on our books. Greg Docherty.

27 Jan 2020 09:56:00
Is that the same Defoe whoā€™s scored the same amount of league goals as Morelos?
And Iā€™ll indulge you Swagsman, out of everyone who had an off day yesterday - how many are you replacing / bringing in too strengthen in this window?
Remember itā€™s only been one defeat.
Are you forgetting the previous 6 months already?
Has the euphoria from the 29th died down already?

27 Jan 2020 13:12:33
We need another striker at the absolute minimum. Defoe is great to come off the bench but canā€™t lead the line for 90 mins. Would also say another attacking mid/ winger and another full back.

27 Jan 2020 14:50:41
Theswagman, even if there is no money for another striker i think young mcbude should be gettting game time with the first team.

26 Jan 2020 23:24:14
Weā€™re struggling a little from injuries, bans etc, itā€™s plain to see Jack needs a rest and is our only centre mid whose been pushing up in the centre of the park penning their centre mids back . I still think our best centre attacking mid is Aribo and I wouldā€™ve rested jack instead of aggravating an injury and let Jordan Jones cover the left with Kent on the right . For me our best 11 is 4-2-3-1 with Tav Goldson Katic Barasic, Davis n Jack, with Jones Aribo Kent and Morelos . Once that team is fully fit and on the park the points and goal difference will be soaring again, Iā€™ve been a bit disappointed with Gerrard constantly asking the fringe players to always be ready and Flannigan and the rest except edmundson not looking fully sharp when inevitably called upon šŸ¤”.

26 Jan 2020 22:45:56
Jason Cummings. Remember him? Scored 2 goals tonight against Liverpool for Shrewsbury in FA Cup. Get him in now. What great cover he would be up front.

27 Jan 2020 06:09:22
At least we have a sense of humour after a defeat lol.

27 Jan 2020 07:30:27
Forget Cummimgs mate. We tried him. we need someone with presence up front.

27 Jan 2020 08:13:45
Yeah we all remember him. And how he never made the grade at us. Not good enough think we already know that.

27 Jan 2020 08:28:11
If you can score two goals against Liverpool you can't be that bad.

27 Jan 2020 08:44:30
Was the 1st thing that sprung to mind after the games were all said and done surely last night has got everyone waking up and realising we need a couple in and preferably b4 window closes.

27 Jan 2020 10:04:31
I was merely thinking of someone who could be brought in as back-up to Morelos and Defoe, that's all. Shankland is another.
