According to a few papers today there have been some EPL sides looking at Kamara. what's fellow fans opinons 1) could we afford to lose him in the Jan window and if so 2) What would a realistic price be for a 23yo international?

26 Oct 2019 19:10:33
unfortunately when a team is going strong as we most certainly are, certain players will become wanted men---this is just the beginning as there are quite a few in our team who will be just that---Kamara-morelos-barisic-tav-kasic down the road---kent down the road---its all good but the money MUST be right for us as this team is a unit as we saw in porto---.

26 Oct 2019 20:05:11
Yes, as Gerrard said he's prepared to trim the squad in the next transfer window. Everyone is up for sale if the price is right .

26 Oct 2019 20:20:25
I personally wouldn't want us to sell glen kamara, but i do think we're top heavy especially in the midfield area and wouldn't be surprised if we do sell a first team pick midfielder. If the money is correct we will sell and that goes for any of our players. I think a few midfielders could be sold/ let go,
quite possibly on loan.

26 Oct 2019 20:26:31
No kamara is a quality playeršŸ‘.

26 Oct 2019 21:03:37
Ā£15m to take Kamara in January, donā€™t believe he is going anywhere.

26 Oct 2019 22:32:47
Just read an interesting point that he may count as homegrown in England as he was there between 16-21. If so that adds a few mill to the value to any EPL team with euro ambition.

27 Oct 2019 00:00:54
every player is for sale, at every club in the world,

26 Oct 2019 23:40:20
Kamara is a prized asset but he is replaceable if the price is right. Very difficult to replace a Morelos but a holding midfielder should be straight forward if we were to get a good amount. Perhaps somebody in the twilight of there career but still good quality say 28 - 30 yrs for say I dunno 5 to 15 million, must be plenty out there.

27 Oct 2019 06:16:01
Think 5 mill and he will be off. he's ok. don't hink he's reached last seasons level probably due to being in and out if the side maybe. he's not in my top 3 midfielders anyway. And we do have a lot of cover. If price is right then think he would go.

27 Oct 2019 07:10:24
I like Kamara, he more solid that Aribo but realistically if a club bid Ā£6m I think we would sell him. I know we might rate him at Ā£10m plus but selling a Ā£50k player a year later for upwards of Ā£5m I think we would cash in as Gerrard would believe he could get a good replacement in for a couple of million.

27 Oct 2019 09:29:45
The market dictates the value of a player and Kamara is highly rated. His valuation has nothing to do with the price we paid for him.

27 Oct 2019 10:41:15
SGL we r certainly not top heavy in midfield.

27 Oct 2019 10:42:32
Glasgowranger he was signed on freedom of contract, we paid 50k to get him early.

27 Oct 2019 10:11:12
Not really a fan of kamara no big loss if he goes.

27 Oct 2019 14:39:15
John 25 we are top heavy in midfield how can you say we are not. jack, davis, arfield, aribo, king, kamara, docherty, mccrorie to come back. all for 3 places.

27 Oct 2019 16:37:46
Aribo king, docherty, mccrorie not good enough for first 11 šŸ‘.

27 Oct 2019 18:43:18
Top heavy on numbers not quality. King and docherty clearly not in plans, mcrotie away for season.

26 Oct 2019 17:46:11
Team for Motherwell tomorrow

McGregor

Tav
Goldson
Helander
Barasic

Arfield
Jack
Davis
Kamara

26 Oct 2019 18:21:10
I think defoe will start tomorrow.

26 Oct 2019 20:07:14
Mikeger, I also feel Defoe will start, that's hardly a bad thing though.

26 Oct 2019 21:45:37
Mcgergor

Tav
Goldson
Katic
Barasic

Davis
Arfield
Jack

Ojo
Stewart
Defoe.

27 Oct 2019 00:01:55
Thanks for that, I was worried you hadnā€™t picked the team yet.

27 Oct 2019 07:11:46
I predict team for tomorrow will have Arfield starting, Katic returning and Defoe replacing Alfredo.

26 Oct 2019 15:56:31
A wee poser for my fellow bears on here.
Can borna barisic now be as good for rangers, as kieran tierney was for celtic? I truly now think he can. Barisic most definitely has some left peg. A pure wand of a left foot!

26 Oct 2019 17:27:57
Can I offer a wee poser that we stop comparing players to their lot all the time? Cringeworthy when we are the more illustrious side.

26 Oct 2019 18:21:23
Unfortunately I can be over critical at times but baradic is getting better and better every game I once wondered how he got into Croat squad but itā€™s clear to see the boy has a talent and is certainly going to be pivotal in our title challenge dare I say ā€œpotentially best left back since papacā€.

26 Oct 2019 19:55:49
I think we should let barasic continue to build on his form coop šŸ‘.

26 Oct 2019 19:57:48
Maybe he's already better? Plays LB for a far superior international side. Technically far superior than Tierney.
And more importantly, plies his trade out of Ibrox. šŸ‘šŸ˜œ.

26 Oct 2019 20:43:42
I think you're spot on coldo, but everyone of us never ever doubted that barisic was very talented, it was the question could he handle playing for us and the physicality and rigours of scottish football mate. He seems now to be proving that he has settled into both rangers and scottish football. You don't play for croatia if you're not talented.

26 Oct 2019 22:09:33
Defo coop, the frustrating part was that as you say he was doing the business for croatia but wouldn't turn up for us. Hopefully he pushes on matešŸ‘.

26 Oct 2019 08:02:15
Let's get #benditlikebarisic trending #.

25 Oct 2019 23:54:36
Ed, on your earlier words on gps data and tracking players work rate etc your completely correct in that many players differ from many others in theyā€™re genetic makeup, there are plenty of examples around although you arguing with the coldo fella is very worrying, you have really confused us up here, I thought he was the editor, only working more hours, anyway a classic example is Paddy Mcourt, much as I hate to say it the guy could embarrass beckenbaur and both Carltonā€™s together in a phone box, but no amount of training could help him run the length of the park, there are many others, none more so than the Romanian prosenicki I think but could be wrong, I can picture him passing Celtic off the park but scarecely moved 20 yards, because he couldnā€™t, a good example on the other side is Alan Hutton he can put in a hard tackle, a great cross and go down expertertly when he needs to, but spurs paid so much because of all that and his engine, he could naturally go box to box for 90 mins, a modern full back, and he used his assets well, , Iā€™ve never heard a bluenose talking about Coops work rate

Tom.

{Ed001's Note - Prosenicki (Croatian by the way) smoked heavily, a bit like McCourt, which is why he had no fitness. You are right though, the game has changed, you only have to look at how Ozil is slagged off for not getting back and making slide tackles to break up every attack by Arsenal fans, yet they adore Bergkamp, who never tracked back.}

26 Oct 2019 10:23:40
Who was arguing with the ed tom? If you read the thread you will see that we were discussing what gps tells us about players, no arguing at all. Genetic make up is obviously a factor but so is your lifestyle. Gps will tell you distance speed, when you peak and tire but it doesn't tell you that a player should have made a run in behind in a certain situation. As the ed said that information is used collectively to assess a players game. Which was my original point in the thread. I don't see where you get arguing from? Why would you make that up tom? šŸ‘.

26 Oct 2019 12:47:12
Coldo, think Tam is confusing work rate with your comment that Ojo is lazy.

Of course you meant he was hard working but just not very good - easy mistake to make but Iā€™m sure heā€™ll be much better when all fans, teammates and coaching staff tell him how pish he is - worked with (just as well we didnā€™t sell him for Ā£5m though) so why not Ojo?

26 Oct 2019 13:32:46
Dk, did you see how we played the other night without ojo? Why would you put him back in the team after that? He might get better, he has too but until that time comes then its the bench or preferably the stand for ojo.

As I have told you before tough love never did anyone any harm and yip it did work for morelos. Gerrard said after the old firm game at parkhead the he couldn't defend morelos anymore. That statement tells us that gerrard laid the law down to morelos

Who said sell morelos for 5mil? I think you'll find that I said an offer between 12-15mil with a 10% sell on would be a realistic offer. I also said during last season and the summer that there was certain areas that he had to improve on to become the 20mil player everyone wants. He has improved on the areas that I mentioned therefore I have stated that he could easily break the scottish transfer record.

Why do you keep going over the same ground time and time again. You are wrong mate, it doesn't matter how many times you post it. Morelos is a completely different player from last year, because he has changed his attitude. The difference is night and day, its there for all to see. And ojo just isn't good enough. šŸ‘.

26 Oct 2019 13:46:09
I would leave Aribo out for now too. When he was injured we were slaughtering teams 5 nil. He comes back against Hearts and we draw. He is left out of the Porto game and we put in the performance of the season. Coincidence? šŸ¤”.

26 Oct 2019 14:56:46
I do like aribo, but I have said for a months that he is too slow with his link up play C. We couldn't have played that fast one touch tempo like we did the other night if aribo and ojo were in the team. šŸ‘.

26 Oct 2019 15:12:06
Tough love has had its day, young players are usually inconsistent but professionals can see potential and hopefully coaching will improve the player (Morelos as one example) .

Even Sadiq looks to be transformed despite a poor time with us.

26 Oct 2019 15:16:10
I have never said that Ojo should start any particular game.

The team picked should reflect the tactics employed against the opposition.

The team should be rotated to keep it fresh and fit and to ensure those underperforming are pressured to keep their place.

I think we have only 3 or 4 guaranteed starters for every game when fit.

26 Oct 2019 15:11:55
Sometimes flash players full of flair just don't suit our game. A midfield full of grafters like Jack, Arfield and Davis is the way forward. If you don't have a bit of dig about you, you will be quickly found out. Like you I like big Aribo and I am really rooting for him to do well. I just feel we are much more dangerous without him.

26 Oct 2019 19:56:22
If our midfield are all grafters who is going to unlock stubborn defences?

Last year we had too many draws against teams who sat back so everyone shouted for a more creative midfield.

26 Oct 2019 21:50:18
All 3 are more than capable. We have been pumping teams left right and centre. How much more unlocking do we need lol.

26 Oct 2019 22:37:41
Coldo and I barely agree on anything and I still think Ojo has something there but he should now have to WORK his way back into the side heā€™s definitely talented has goals and assists in him but if heā€™s allowed not to work as Baker etc the other night heā€™ll never appreciate his Jersey! The other night was a Stunning performance from all the players especially out Rolls Royce of a LB šŸ’™.

27 Oct 2019 00:13:37
ED I stand corrected, and ashamed, as I spend 3 months a year in Split Croatia. And of course your correct, Zagreb I believe when Prosineci and viduka ran Celtic ragged one night, he scarcely left the centre circle, what a player, and although I love Hadjuk Split I enjoy creation football and it is a very good centre of excellence. Thanks for your input

Tom.

25 Oct 2019 23:01:00
Folks, I was just wondering what changes SG may make on Sunday, after that performance, I personally wouldn't change anything unless there was an injury. I believe Barker was ill after the game, so who would you play instead of him if needed.

26 Oct 2019 10:55:17
I wouldn't change it irvger, we have to encourage that type of play by keeping the same team. Unless as you say injuries play a part. šŸ‘.

26 Oct 2019 12:10:07
Ojo, just so he can prove to Coldo that he has potential.

26 Oct 2019 12:40:54
I'd bring in Katic, Stewart, Arfield and Defoe to start to freshen things up. Looking for a good win, hopefully 3-0 or 4-0. I don't suppose the sheep will help us earlier in the day.

26 Oct 2019 12:42:07
me thinks it was kamara who was sick after the game, but according to SG he hopes he returns for Sunday.

26 Oct 2019 14:34:08
Sorry geesadodothat, you are correct, it was Kamara.

26 Oct 2019 15:14:48
When you think about it, we could field a completely different outfield: McGregor: Flanagan Katic Edmondson Halliday: Arfield Aribo King (if fit) : Stewart Defoe Ojo. With Murphy Polster etc as further options. I know it won't happen and shouldn't happen, but what a terrific position to be in compared to just 18 months ago.
