Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

26 May 2016 20:01:24
Anybody else think changing the system to 5-3-2 would suit us. Would allow tav and Wallace to operate as wing backs with less defensive responsibilities. 3 centre half's would give cover to tav and Wallace and give us some added height at set pieces. The midfield three would remain the same. The front 3 would become a 2 but the width would be provided by the wing backs. Something like this maybe.
Fod

Crooks Kiernan Wilson

Tav Barton Wallace

Rossiter Holt

McKay

Waggy.

26 May 2016 21:13:44
Thinking along similar lines but using 3-4-3. As said giving the full backs freedom to attack.

26 May 2016 21:43:21
Can't fault your idea there and thought the same myself but don't think warbs will change his style and formation unless next year for Europe.

27 May 2016 00:39:03
I would have thought that having flexibility of line up and formation based on the team that we are playing and the venue would be the best option. Such a strategy would necessitate us having a larger squad with several more players joining the Club including two or three better quality, more experienced players.

I have a strong feeling that we will see a couple more Barton level acquisitions before the end of June.

27 May 2016 07:28:14
Coops left foot, you got a crystal ball in your house?

27 May 2016 08:07:15
I would play 4-4-2, bring Mckay back into left/ right midfield and whoever on the other side and let them run at the defences and have 2 holding midfielders, like Barton and Rossiter for instance and let them break up play.

27 May 2016 09:16:53
Realistically Scotsman if we are not top 3 or winning Scottish cup next year given the players we have/ will acquire it will be a complete disaster. So no crystal ball but quietly confident we will be in Europe the season after.

27 May 2016 10:27:05
Wilson0212. What about Ball (if we get him again) , Zelalem (same if) , Halliday, O'Halloran, Forrester, Windass and Miller? And what if Kranjcar signs? Also, I'd definitely get Hardie involved in the squad. Rossiter sounds exciting but is he good enough to throw into the first team straightaway? I'd say a first XI to start off might be: (4-3-3-

Foderingham; Tavernier, Crooks, Wilson, Wallace; Holt, Barton, Windass; O'Halloran, Waghorn, Mackay. With players like Forrester, Mill, Rossiter and Halliday to come on as subs. I've left out Ball and Zelalem as they might not come back.

26 May 2016 21:39:31
Mark warburton WON'T change his 4-3-3 style as he has stipulated many times, if he was to slightly alter our system it would be a 4-2-3-1 I'd imagine with joey barton and jordan rossiter as our 2 sitting/ defensive midfielders.

27 May 2016 13:56:39
3-4-3 has been played a few times this season.

26 May 2016 18:36:10
What do fellow bears think abt setting up an account for any fans fined for being on the pitch on Saturday trying to protect our own I personally would contribute and don't care what anybody says i for 1 would've been on pitch but had my young son with me I've never been so angry in all ma life.

{Ed039's Note - There is already such a thing)

26 May 2016 19:48:39
I think that idea is utterly preposterous. There was no excuse for Rangers' fans being on the pitch. Those that did made their own choice and should take the consequences.

Sorry - I love the club but cannot defend supporters who let the club down. There will be posters who disagree and consider the actions by the few who went on as being honourable. I'm not one of them.

26 May 2016 20:15:15
need to stop all this nonsense about going on pitch to defend players, most of the Rangers fans who came on the park were just on to cause trouble. not stop it!

we need to stop making these hooligans, out to be super hero`s.

their thugs the club could well do without.

26 May 2016 18:55:58
Probably in the minority here, but any fan who was on that pitch should be banned indefinitely. This nonsense that they were 'protecting' the players is embarrassing. Funny how majority of those seen were wearing what some would call casual attire. Who knows, perhaps there was even an agreement before the match.

The Hibs fans should never have been on the pitch either, but two wrongs don't make a right. There were some assaults in varying degrees of seriousness, but I don't think the players were getting launched all over the place. My opinion, but a small number of Rangers fans have let the majority down again.

Out of interest, why ask opinions when you say you 'don't care what anybody says'?

26 May 2016 21:02:01
Ya the gers fans who went on the pitch were not provoked by hibs supporters! If hibs fans hadn't gotten on to the pitch nothing would of happened. Let's get something straight rangers fans didn't cause the trouble. Ya the fans shouldn't of reacted. Did hundreds of rangers fans get on the pitch after the old firm match. NO! Hibs fans were entirely to blame for the trouble that followed the match.

26 May 2016 21:17:52
There are security and police for that reason. No need for any fan on the pitch, it just adds fuel to the fire that people are happy to burn under our club.

27 May 2016 00:13:26
Want to know when and what will happen to Hibs! The fine better be strong enough, you get about 60k prize money for winning cup so we'll see what they get as for bans I hope it happens but won't hold my breath would luv to see their Euro place givin to St Johnstone as I don't think we'd get it?

27 May 2016 00:45:43
It is wrong to be seen to support those Rangers fans that went on the pitch even though I can fully sympathise with them given the goading they took from the Hibs fans. Of course if some hadn't gone on to the pitch no one knows whether the Hibernian Hooligans would have come into the stands to attack Rangers fans including women and children.

For me, anyone irrespective of which team that went into the park and became involved in fighting should be banned from all football.

More important, Hibs must be banned from the Scottish Cup, it should be recommended by the SFA to European Football Authorities that Hibs are replaced by St Johnstone as Scotland's representative in the UEFA Cup and Hibs should be fined. Will any of this happen, probably not, and that will just prove what a lot of us suspect and that sadly will guarantee that something much worse will happen.

27 May 2016 08:43:24
If the police had done their job properly the hibs thugs wouldn't have got so far up the pitch and the Gers fans wouldn't have gone on.

26 May 2016 18:50:32
Ed's right, Vanguard Bears have set up a fund trying to raise £1,690 or something. Embarrassing if you ask me.

26 May 2016 17:46:19
Barton is a coup

Discuss.

26 May 2016 22:57:59
He most definitely is. Celtic fans have started Gerrard rumours they are that jealous. says it all.

Apart from that he is a quality player and will certainly do a job and a half. Having a real experienced holding midfielder is what he have been screaming out for this season so we will be a far better team with him in the side. A different class from Eustace and Diagoraga. also a great mentor for Young Rossiter!

26 May 2016 18:34:57
Agree. With the style of football being played under MW a player of Barton's calibre is invaluable.

26 May 2016 17:14:08
Will we get floated on the stock markets so we can buy shares and time soon?

26 May 2016 18:17:21
Seeing as we can't even produce a set of audited accounts I very much doubt it.

26 May 2016 20:19:09
Bosshogg I think you will find we have provided audited accounts showing operating loss around 9 million and we owe the parent company ie the 3 bears and dave king ex amount aswell although the money we owe them is soft loans to be converted into shares when possible so your point is totally wrong.

{Ed039's Note - I don't think those accounts were fully signed off by an auditor)

26 May 2016 18:44:27
Boss hog did u not read the last accounts then?
Last years accounts were really good even though the board never had much time to implement their own ideas on how the club should be run, u really should check your facts b4 slating the board.

26 May 2016 21:02:41
I thought the accounts were signed off mate showing we owed the 3 bears and dave king 18 million and that we had operating losses of 9 million they were sent to company's house sometime in march I'm sure . ithink there was unaudited accounts initially stating we only had operating losses of 500 k but the audited ones showed 9 mill I apologise to bosshogg if I'm wrong on that.

26 May 2016 18:18:38
Not till all court issues are complete (which could be a year or more) .

27 May 2016 09:41:19
The last set of figures I recall were released in March 2016 and dealt with the 6 month period, which ended 31st December 2015.

These figures are not audited and even says so on our website (not sure if Ed will let link get posted)

goo.gl/WCylTe

Now it is possible that there are audited accounts but if they exist I have never saw them and I am usually quite thorough with things like this.

27 May 2016 15:02:16
Bosshogg if I'm wrong then as I said I am big enough to apologise for jumping the gun but if you search rangers audited accounts in Google it shows that the audited accounts were submitted 31st of march the link you have posted was from the 6th of March which you are correct in saying at that time they were not audited not sure how to post the link but have a search mate you will see the article I'm talking about.

27 May 2016 15:05:24
The link with regards to the audited accounts.

goo.gl/J2g5EP

26 May 2016 22:23:16
As ed pointed out, those accounts were not audited.

26 May 2016 16:56:37
Chamakh from palace free transfer? What we think . Also brede hangalaand would do a job also free and Tom Carroll from Spurs also a freebie.

26 May 2016 18:37:21
Don't fancy lazy chamakh lol.

27 May 2016 00:14:40
Def Hangalaand!

27 May 2016 00:14:40
Def Hangalaand!

26 May 2016 18:35:52
Carroll going to celtic?

26 May 2016 16:37:17
Any news on season ticket sales?

26 May 2016 14:47:09
Does anyone think we will pay transfer fees for any players this season?

Know we paid money for Rossiter but that was compensation.

Wouldn't mind if we just looked at the players who are out of contract because there are obviously some great deals to be had. But if MW has an idea for a CB and a CF for instance which is positions we definitely need, how much will he have to spend on two or three priority signings?

26 May 2016 15:01:46
Thorn76

Think there is only so far you can go not paying money for players. There are bargains you can pick up for nothing however you can't rely on this especially if your looking to win the league.

26 May 2016 16:03:58
Agree, not sure how much is in the kitty, 3, 4, 5 million max? I can't imagine us paying over 1 million for any player unless it's an absolute bargain and guaranteed top signing. Defence should be where large majority of the budget should go though in my opinion.
It's all very well scoring 2 or 3 goals a match but when we're also conceding daft goals we're not going to come close to top 2 this season. Our last 10 games (not including Peterhead cup final) We scored 19 and conceded 21 in total. As soon as the league was just about wrapped up the defence fell apart. Prior to this we had conceded just over 21 goals ALL SEASON.

As much as I like Kiernan and Tav, I would put Kiernan on bench and give Tav a try on the wing and get them positions replaced. I'd stick with Fod just now and see how he would do with a decent defence and Barton in front of him cause he has pulled out some class saves, solid defence might give him confidence.

26 May 2016 17:30:26
That is a fair and food assessment sham.

26 May 2016 17:33:30
No way would I play tav on the wing. He needs to come from deep, he either plays rb or not at all.

26 May 2016 22:14:41
I think forester is probably a better winger than tav also ohalloran is probably better with the ball at his feet too. Like most i'm hoping barton and a decent cb will add cover so he doesn't have to be relied on too much defensively. But I understand where most are coming from about tracking back.

Looking at the season we had he won us more points than he lost us and he's probably knackered due to the fact we don't have anyone to rest him for.

27 May 2016 00:21:05
We need a big strong experienced CB to play beside Crooks, thought if Ball came back it could poss be those two but would prefer a CB with Experience would love someone like Amorouso! And if we're going to spend then be it on that position also think a GK could be wise, don't think Bentley is comin but Ward could be available and done well at Aberdeen!

27 May 2016 00:21:05

26 May 2016 17:45:05
We have better wingers than tav impo forester mckay and MOH are looking better am going waggy will be out on the wing more if we sign a new stroker.

26 May 2016 18:39:12
Couldn't agree more Cee.
Hopefully with an experienced Barton in the team the side will be better balanced and cover provided when Tav roams forward. Why would anyone want to stifle his attacking ability?

26 May 2016 13:40:35
Gutted for Lee Wallace having to pull out the Scotland squad for upcoming friendlies. Would have done Scotland a job at the back!

26 May 2016 14:30:11
I'm glad, if I was a gers player I would never play for scotland after the sfa and all the other back stab bets wanted us out the game, mon Germany.

26 May 2016 17:34:08
He's going to florida lol, quite right to pull out considering he wasn't getting called up a few months ago when he was on form.

27 May 2016 06:55:02
Hes got a hamstring injury that's why he pulled out of the squad.

26 May 2016 12:53:31
any thoughts on these targets?

GK Ward

CB Berra and Bougerra

CF Hemmings

loan Ball.

26 May 2016 13:37:11
Wouldn't touch Berra or Hemmings, not good enough.

26 May 2016 14:21:40
Bougherra the is half the player of Berra.

26 May 2016 15:43:31
Get Bougie back at bears and Ball,

Hemmings a think would do a job but am sure MW will find someone else better but if we signed Hemmings I would not be disappointed.

26 May 2016 17:14:37
Striker
Forget Cummings go for Will Griggs or Nicky Ajose or Sam Winnall
Centre Back
Daniel Agger or Bruno Alves or Jerry Akaminko.

26 May 2016 17:34:42
Nicky ajose is mince, I'd go for Lee Gregory.

26 May 2016 18:54:03
ihope warbs has either a plan to keep bell or replace
soon as
we need a RB that can defend and that is not tav
we need a proven striker I hope warbs has one in sight
I not sure where any bears are hearing the cummings story
he has been offered to celtic with s. allen going back
plus half a mill celtic value allen at 3/ 4 a mill
the draw back cummings still wants to go south
I still believe ball will be back but not till end of july
again a loan deal
warbs is still scouting players that will all be on decent
money but with no transfer fees basically using his transfer budget in wages.

26 May 2016 20:47:02
Must be how he's scored about 25 goals this season and missed quite a few games, sounds shite.

26 May 2016 13:04:40
Got to aim for better than that. Bartley and weiss would do.

27 May 2016 02:06:36
Wh9y are some people on this forum against rangers bringing in new decent players instead they mention ex players, saw a video of Lee Gregory goals 27 for Millwall, looks a decent striker can score with both feet and good with the head.

26 May 2016 11:33:14
First off, let me congratulate Warbs and the troops for a great season and for implementing a great style that I think we can agree is quality. Thanks for getting us up Mark!

Getting to my point.

Following the old firm semi, I was miffed at the total loss of form until I had a minute to assess what was up. Warbs keeps mentioning that he likes to work with a lean squad - 'lean and mean' with only a few bodies outwith the first team. To me that's the problem. The lads were knackered after giving their all against the sc@m. Hopefully that can be resolved post season (if they've twigged) .

Anyway, just thought I'd make the point.

P. s I see Kyle Lafferty wed the girl From East Kilbide the other day. Take it that's why he's bought the house up here?!?

26 May 2016 14:29:43
They shouldn't be knackered, they are professional full time athletes.

26 May 2016 14:48:09
Stuarteah. I hope that is all or maybe Celtic have signed him lol. As long as he doesn't come anywhere near Ibrox!

26 May 2016 18:33:15
They are also human beings Albertz and live within the limitations of that. Always find it funny people saying they can't be tired because its there job and are paid to do it. Doesn't matter how fit you are you will always get tired from training/ playing/ competing week in week out.

26 May 2016 15:50:48
Firstly, i think professional senior football team manager will have "twigged"
2nd, please explain how professional "athletes " shouldn't get tired? Because they are well paid does not exclude their bodies from tiring over a long season, they are not machines, of course they tired.

Quite dramatically actually, it is a normal process passing and movement, and always working on a big pitch is muscle numbing, so it is quite obvious to me they tired, because you give someone an extra 5 grand a week won't make their bodies less tired you know.

26 May 2016 08:15:17
Good to see that at last the football department have spoken about the team's performance against Hibs.

DW said that Hibs were the better team on the day and deserved to win. Also said that if we had won it may have had effect of papering over some of our shortcomings. Thank you DW.

Onwards and Upwards, cannot wait for new season.

26 May 2016 11:28:12
No headlines there. I don't think we needed to hear from management what the bulk of us already know. He also said we'll learn from it. Heard that before?!

26 May 2016 07:47:59
Yes! Seems warbs is signing a new deal and i'm over the moon, fully deserved and hopefully now the rumours of him leaving can stop for a bit, apparently warbs was keen for a new deal before the hivs game but king kept him waiting.

26 May 2016 08:53:39
I'm sure he will sign a new deal but the story in the Record only says he has been offered a new deal, not that he has signed.

26 May 2016 10:43:50
BossHogg, he is on holiday with family so will be signing once back.

27 May 2016 00:41:21
Does anyone know how long Magic's contract is for and I'm sure King has a minimum release in there yeah?

26 May 2016 00:50:14
Heard a few people mention crouch . Personally don't think it will happen but don't understand why some people are saying he's not good enough. A lot of people have short memories not so long ago we had Kevin Kyle up front an absulute donkey and now we are linked with players like crouch who has played in 2 world cups with England. Saw a comment saying he's not got with the balls to his feet, there's been plenty of good target men who do a job and score goals that aren't that technically gifted with the ball on the deck, he would offer us a diffrent option and we can change our style a bit. Teams get wise on how to defend against certain styles and he could give us something diffrent i'd take him in a minute.

26 May 2016 14:42:02
Always thought Crouch was a very good player with good skills on the deck as well as his obvious height advantage. Should have done a lot better during his career but flatters to deceive a lot of the time. There's no way he could play up here though. Just think about the number of bookings he would get for his robot goal celebration. If Halliday can get banned for a fist pump, WTF would they do to Crouch?

26 May 2016 16:50:21
I was at the game halliday got booked for that celebration, it wasn't because of the fist pump it's becos he ran 40 yards over to the Morton fans to do it right in front of them when the rest of the players were celebrating the goal in the middle of the park. So sure crouchy would get away with the robot.

26 May 2016 17:54:08
I've seen much much worse than Halliday did go unpunished.

27 May 2016 00:47:36
Crouch is a good player but wouldn't want him we do need a forward with a bit of height but he's way too skinny and would want wages that I think Warbs could do better with. another Prso type and a ****in CB in the mould of big Amo would be amazing I'm sure their out there and Warbs will find them. Lookin forward to seeing what loans we bring in and can anyone tell me how many an SPFL club can have in a season, think it's 5 so think Warbs will bring in 3-4 so that come summer have options if needed.

25 May 2016 23:39:37
Out of the players who were loaned out who do you think has the chance of having a significant impact this season?

The striker situation we have would maybe point to Ryan Hardie having a good chance.

Anyone think Murdoch, Thompson or any others could have a shot at the first team?

26 May 2016 09:31:39
I think Hardie should be given a chance without any doubt. Miller can do a great job again, though maybe as a super-sub more next season. Waghorn and Hardie would be worth a try to start off. Midfield is beginning to look a bit crowded so I don't know where that leaves Murdoch, Thompson and Walsh. I also think Peter Crouch is a good player of the ball on the deck as well as his obvious heading ability. Money might be a sticking point though. I thought Windass was a goalscorer so where will he be playing and what about O'Halloran too?

25 May 2016 23:33:39
Charlie Adam? Thoughts?

26 May 2016 00:24:35
Couldn't afford him.

26 May 2016 07:03:13
Too slow!

26 May 2016 09:17:20
Too fat!

26 May 2016 10:00:40
What a left peg.

26 May 2016 10:17:16
too many midfielders.

26 May 2016 16:17:49
Not a rangers fans favourite the first time, think he held it against us, everything he hit was 50 yrds too long, except his peach against them, he won't leave England now, he doesn't need the money after a very fortunate career.
