Ed, what are the twins names hoo we signed and do you rate david vaughan i do
do you think we will get him and puncheon

{Ed010's Note - Tom and Kim Skogsrud. David Vaughan was Blackpool's most consistent player over the whole season and like most players had some good games and some real stinkers but I do think that he would do well for us. Jason Puncheon is more of a gamble both on the pitch and more importantly in the dressing room. I might be doing the guy a sisservice but I am sure that I read that he threw a tantrum at the Southampton manager and also didn't enamour himself to the other Blackpool players.

Exciting times for Rangers F.C I don't want to get too carried away but there is talk that Andreas Granqvist has definitely on his way to Ibrox providing FC Groningen fail to get into the Europa League this year, where their currently playing a playoff with ADO Den Haag!
He is the clubs top scorer from defence and is desperate for some good Champions League experience so you never know
Other likely candidates to join him will be Kyle Bartely and David Vaughan of Arsenal and Blackpool respectively
Expect one cracking signing to come to Ibrox this year. . Watch this space :-)

Scott McDonald is coming. He scored quite a few goals in the SPL. What do we all think?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
He was a great player when he was at Celtic but he wouldn't join us(rangers) because he and his family are Celtic fans. He said this when asked why he chose Celtic over Rangers last time.

I met him in EK - really decent guy before he signed for celtic. He is a celtic fan and so is his dad but his mum and mates are all bluenoses. In 2005 after his goals helped us win league and he was in oz - his mates phoned him singing "Scott McD scored two goals. . "

Ryan/casey

{Ed010's Note -It would appear to be a genuine mistake but if you read the very last sentence, its states that he left Cardiff City on 23 May 2011. As for the twins, I knew nothing about them and didn't know the names until Rangers fans posted their signing today.

I've heard some mention of players returning to us but Ally is only going to bring in players he can have a fresh start with. Remember that he's taking on a much more serious role from what he was at a couple of years back so he'll want players to mould into Old Firm life, not ones who have already encountered a stay at Rangers.
I'd not be suprised to see Matthew Upson being one of Ally's first signings. He's 31 or somethin, but on a free and possibly playing with Bartley next year in the centre of defence which would certainly quicken up what we've got now.
I've heard there's chat that Jay Bothroyd is another option to bolster the squad but not the main striking target

How do u know ally is only gona bring in people he can have a fresh start with ????

ed wots the chances of us signing mc'fadden coz i know he's a Celtic fan?

{Ed010's Note -This type of question is among the most common ones asked by readers across the spectrum of the Football Rumours family. The days of players knocking back clubs, simply because they or their family, aren't supporters of that club are long gone. Players can no longer afford, not just in the financial sense, to restrict their choice to just one club. Deep down, they may prefer to play for the club of their dreams but in reality, money and ultimately the opportunity to play European football and/or win trophies, is what it is all about. If McFadden gets himself fit, I think he could be the type of "flair" player that Rangers have been missing for too many years.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 May 2011 20:27:55
ed can rangers sign or agreeto sign players players before the transfer window opens but just not announce it

{Ed010's Note -Basically, this is what the term "tapping" means. While it is occasionally reported in the media, my opinion is that it is more widespread than that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 May 2011 20:07:56
ed i think rangers can do better then goodwillie i just don't like the player and what if we spend the money on him then he ends up guilty and gets a sentence that's 1 million spent for nothing a don't like him as a player he isn't good enough for rangers

{Ed010's Note -There is no doubt that Rangers could do better than David Goodwillie but those players would cost considerably more than the £2,000,000 being touted for him. In my opinion he could do a job for Rangers and he reminds me a little of Ally McCoist when he played for St Johnstone. Sometimes in life you need to take a chance and I would like to see him in a Rangers strip.

It has been reported by other readers, although I have not read or heard anything myself, that the charges against Goodwillie have or are being dropped. If Goodwillie is signed by any club, that will be a clear indication that this is the case as no football club would gamble 2 million pounds on a 50/50 outcome.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 May 2011 19:13:27

dont think there is any way that he will get done for it. ally wouldn't have taken it this far if there was a realistic chance of goodwillie gettin done.
would be a good signing, wouldn't mind him and jela upfront, with laff and maybe hemed in support

Believable1 Unbelievable0

If there's no way he'll 'get done for it' then the case wouldn't be heading to a trial and charges would have been dropped by now.

Agree0 Disagree1

Its very unlikely he'll be found guilty because of the actual nature of the story, clearly he has a strong defence. and just because he has a strong defence doesn't mean the girl would just drop the charges. doesn't actually work that way. and plus coisty and rangers have obviously been told the details about it and wouldn't have progressed if there was a realistic chance of him getting jailed.
anyway, goodwillie will be coming and im sure he will be a good signing

He was a great player when he was at Celtic but he wouldn't join us(rangers) because he and his family are Celtic fans. He said this when asked why he chose Celtic over Rangers last time

McDonald didn't choose Celtic over Rangers at all, he was thrilled at the chance of joining Rangers in January 2007 but the 400k deal was knocked back by Motherwell. Celtic then moved early at the end of that season to sign him. Yes he and his family are Celtic fans, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't sign for us. Neil McCann, Craig Beattie, Ross McCormack, Scott Brown, Kevin Thomson, Danny Wilson and Chris Burke are just a few that spring to mind that played for the other half of the Old Firm that they supported. That being said, I still don't think he'll join, I would think Ally will have many names on the list above him. .

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Chris Burke may have played for celtic boys club before he joined rangers youth but he certainly wasnt a celtic fan

{Ed010's Note -If you are referring to the 16 year old Raheem Sterling, I really hope not. He is certainly an exciting prospect but that is all he is, a prospect. Apart from that, I would think that by taking him on loan, this would certainly ruffle a few feathers in our 16/17 year age bracket, who must question what was going on. Just my opinion thou.

Everton in for Kyle Lafferty with £5 million pound bid

I'd love to think this was true but david moyes isn't an idiot. what he want with that big diddy and this is coming from a rangers fan!

{Ed010's Note -As a Rangers fan, I respect your opinion but I think you could be wrong and I will explain why. Kyle Lafferty was bought from Burnley as a centre forward but almost all of his career at Rangers has been spent out on the wing. Over the past few seasons, it has been routinely reported that Lafferty only seems to "come alive" after the split but it is no coincidence that during that period, he moves into the middle, due to injuries or suspensions. I would like to see Ally give him a good run in the team, playing centre forward and with Jelavic as his partner. Only my opinion thou. Cheers Ed

Believable7 Unbelievable1

I agree with you Ed I think everyone needs to get off the guy's back. He has yet again scored the vital goals this season more than any other I would say. Give him a run up front if he doesn't perform then fair enough but at least give him a chance.

Lafferty can go to everton I know he scored a few goals at the end of the season, but normally he couldn't hit a barn door ! ,

Believable0 Unbelievable5

I'm probably in a small minority but I think when Laff is on good form he's great, hard working and determined. I think he has a major confidence issu and when things aren't going well, the harder he tries the more he fails but near the end of the season he battles through it and shows his potential.

He just have to hit the ground running this season but I think Laff has a lot more to show, granted he gets the confidence and consistency issues sorted.

I personally do not think eremenko is a good enough player for either Rangers or Celtic He is to slow and expects to much time on the ball. He may be ok in the spl but in Europe he would get run over the top of Who agrees.

{Ed010's Note - Reading the points that you make, which I do tend to agree with but could he not just be used in the SPL ? An example of that was Kris Boyd, who was used in the SPL but not that often in Europe.

John mchellend remains on the board with greig. The other two still suspended due to findings with the HMRC Case also final talks with McCoist and Whyte Take place in the coming days so expect movement next week. Also don't suggest Players outwith britain most if not all the signings will be within the UK as everywhere else. Players are overrated and overpriced

what football are you watching in the uk , in europe you get far more for your money and a better sell on value , its britan that's overated and vastly over priced

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I agree, look at cuellar. paid something around 2.5 mil from a european club and sold him for 7ish to a british club. jelavic would have cost alot more if he was plyaing in england at the time. we need a solid core of british players but defo need to scour europe for the best deals

if rangers are wanting Kenny Miller and John Mensah why would we need David Goodwillie to be honest we don't need Goodwillie with the bad boy rep Rangers don't need it

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Hi ED, could you honestly see miller coming back to us, he left for 400k, would bursa not want to make some sort of profit on him even if he is unsettled and if so why would gers pay more than what we sold him for?

{Ed010's Note -I could see Kenny Miller returning which would again split the Rangers support, some of whom would love to see him back and others not because they believe that he left us in our hour of need.

I believe that Kenny would be a good acquistion to the squad and don't hold the view that he sold us down the river. He could have played on at Ibrox and left for nothing in a few months but he didn't and Rangers obtained £400,000 for his services, which at the time, was manna from heaven to Rangers.

I agree Bursapor will want to recoup their outlay and I reckon it will cost Rangers between £1,000,000 and £2,000,000 which would incorporate their transfer fee and most of his wages paid to Miller during that time.

I'll back you up on this one, was good mates with Graeme he was in my year at bannerman high school in baillieston. Defo a true blue. Also keep up the gd work Ed!

Doesn't he spell it Graham? Good mate you are.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Your right my nephew knows him, used to jump around with him.He is out our price range though, so un less he comes on loan we have no chance of getting him.And that is hardly likely to happen, as he is a first team regular now at WBA.

===========================
Bosman. .12 Months Or 12 Years. .Rangers Would Never Sign Barton.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Barton I wish but there is no chance of that happening. He can play and is in his prime. There is no way he would come up and play here, not even to play in the champions league. He would never be selected for England again. They do not rate our game down there.

Barton has 12 months left FACT on ssn

Rangers look set to sign gatusso on a one year deal. They are hoping to use Gatusso to help them set up a link where AC Milan players can cometo Ibrox to play in the SPL and Champions league.
Why would we wantg to sign a player for one season who has a five match european ban to serve.

Maybe the same reason we coughed up around 4mill for a
player who was cup tied in europe last year ? ?? Jelavic

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Gattuso has 1 match ban left this year
