Wee slight change of subject here guys! We had a wee debate at work today, regarding who we thought was the best manager to come out of Scotland! A lot of conflicting views and reasons on our different choices! There were rangers, celtic, hearts,
motherwell, hamilton and aberdeen fans all having their say on our wee debate! The 3 most popular names were sir alex ferguson,
sir walter smith and jock stein! what's the view of various ages of supporters, on here regarding this subject? I'm sure this will be interesting as people will make cases, for each one of these superb managers from scotland! Even put these 3 in order of preference!

26 Mar 2018 18:18:55
Why don't you have a poll on it

26 Mar 2018 19:55:06
if you put them in order of leaving scotland its fergie, walter, then jock, in scotland its jock walter, fergie

26 Mar 2018 20:12:09
Has to be Fergie, Stein then Smith. Although Smith is a long way behind those 2

26 Mar 2018 21:18:38
Wouldn't have Smith in the top three, Jim McLean would be third behind Stein and Ferguson.

26 Mar 2018 21:44:01
Struth fergie and stein would be my top 3

26 Mar 2018 21:58:01
If we're talking all Scots then
You could add sharply to the list

26 Mar 2018 22:29:05
Walter smith was a better manager than jim mclean as far as i'm concerned aindoh! For me the order would be:
1. Sir Alex Ferguson,
2. Jock Stein,
3. Sir Walter Smith,

imo nothing to choose between smith and stein! Very close in my eyes with stein edging it, just!

26 Mar 2018 23:06:34
Twice treble winner Jock Wallace?

26 Mar 2018 23:11:27
Ferguson wins all day long but if your going with the best achievement then it's stein all day. 11 Scots within a 30 mile radius winning the European cup.

26 Mar 2018 23:14:48
Both Shankly and Matt Busby would be ahead of Smith.

Personally I would say Alex Ferguson has been the best manager to come out of Scotland and he learned a lot from his mentor Jock Stein, who is the next best.

27 Mar 2018 07:24:59
Calm down Tommy 12 it's a banter site. North pole south pole ice pole and a supercooper poll.

27 Mar 2018 07:51:44
If that truly gets you uptight tommy12,then you are truly needing to sit down, look in the mirror and have a serious word with yourself! You're obviously very interested and a total stalker of my posts. The proof is there for all to see. Get a grip of yourself mate and take that BOX of mccain's chips, off your shoulder! I take it your going to publish your NOVEL of all my posts? I look forward to it, i'm only asking for a quarter of the proceeds!

27 Mar 2018 08:20:37
Lol jesus mate calm down. Everybody knows someone or has heard something. It's just banter mate. Anyway welcome back Tommy.

27 Mar 2018 11:16:55
Supercoop I think you should request a poll lol . is Tommy12 a clown or not a clown lol

27 Mar 2018 11:26:02
Haha, i like it scotty123!

27 Mar 2018 11:54:00
Stein, ferguson, dalglish

27 Mar 2018 11:48:17
Sorry have to say McLean only anywhere near such a list due to longevity in game and not actual success.

27 Mar 2018 13:20:04
Smith is only near the list because of the cheque book, Jim McLean was a much superior manager. in my opinion

26 Mar 2018 13:16:34
As much I like any true blue holds Walter Smith as a Rangers legend I believe he is not the man to take us forward. If you look at current situation and where we want to be this is a fair distance and not one Walter Smith has time/ patience to do. We need a younger higher profile manager with nous to take us there though who is not my place but I do have my own firm favourites and none are Murty.

26 Mar 2018 14:58:51
Who are your firm favourites for the role? Murty is a strange one for me, I want to believe in his ability and I really want him to do well but something keeps telling me he just isn't right for the job long term, but I could be wrong.

Personally, Alex Neil would be a great fit as he has a great knowledge of the league and what is needed. But for the time being I am 100% behind Murty as we all should be!

26 Mar 2018 22:17:42
smith come on mccoist gubbed him at the weekend

27 Mar 2018 11:54:38
Only current managers I have sight on would be Eddie Howe and Marco Silva (unattached)

26 Mar 2018 08:51:59
Reading that we need to forget about recent Celtic game ahead of Scottish a Cup. Could not disagree more, think we should keep it clear in our memory as lesson of how to play and score against them and how not to defend or manage a game against 10 men. The Kilmarnock game is the one to forget and another performance like that will cost Murty his job.
