Are Rangers playing in games in Portugal?

27 Jun 2019 08:31:20
No just a training camp.

28 Jun 2019 17:06:10
Just the waiting game with aribo.

26 Jun 2019 20:50:48
Is there any way we could exted ibrox as we have 14,000 waiting list?

26 Jun 2019 21:02:28
You got the money to pay for it.

26 Jun 2019 21:18:29
If I remember correctly someone said if we were to match the club deck on the Sandy jardine/ govan stand then that would prob be the best way as the corners can't be filled in for some reason I can't remember maybe something to do with the way it's built behind the screens.

26 Jun 2019 21:33:21
the 14k waiting list kind of answers that question bear 82

obv we would need the money up front to extend initially but it could be paid back inside 2/ 3yrs

Yes we would need significant investment i agree, but our demand far exceeds the supply year on year &thats something we can ill afford to ignore - we need to tap into all the available revenue streams we can

i do think the club need to seriously consider it for the mid to long term whether its filling in corners or another tier in the govan stand

just my opinion.

26 Jun 2019 21:55:53
Bear 82 how about selling morelos for 20m?!

26 Jun 2019 21:59:02
Not being funny at all here guys, but where were the 14,000 that are on the waiting list, when we were playing in the 3rd division and battling our way back through the leagues? Its easy to support when things are looking up, but the best most loyal supporters can be found in adversity. that's a fact. Now that steven gerrard is our manager and there's a wee sniff we're about to start winning things again, all the closet bears crawl through the woodwork, wanting to be part of our wonderful football club again!

26 Jun 2019 22:15:37
Wa there not one chat a while back about lowering the pitch and putting mor seat at ground level. For our 150th anniversary?

26 Jun 2019 22:17:54
Its a 'goal post shape' steel structure that goes over the govan broomloan and copland stands, very similar to tynecastle sangil80. This is the reason for the corners not being filled. This structure supports the roof of each stand. I read this on another rangers forum a while back. Adding a tier to the govan I think would be the best solution.

26 Jun 2019 22:29:44
Coop who cares if the list is bigger now? A fair weather bears pound has the same value as a diehard pound. We will never be in that position again and it's an opportunity to make money.

26 Jun 2019 22:48:19
Cant lower the pitch any lower or we will be in river Clyde best way is get rid of screens fill in corners it can be done but will cost lets get winning team onnpark first sure rebuilding stadium will come in time by the way seen drawing done years with corners filled in done by architect capicity would go up to 59,000.

26 Jun 2019 23:00:07
Snell its the principal pal! Rangers for life, not just for christmas and all that. Try and catch my drift.
Supporters NOW wanting to be part of our wonderful institution, once there's a sniff of the glory days returning. GLORY being the key word here.

26 Jun 2019 23:01:20
When Willie Waddell help to design new Ibrox they could put an extra tier on each new stand but whos got the cash for that project.

26 Jun 2019 23:42:46
We do need to look at expanding the stadium but listening to the fact we should add a new tier on top of the Govan would mean we need to resolve the corners anyway to add support for the third tier. So if that's the case we should eventually just do the corners and increase to 59000 capacity.

27 Jun 2019 00:25:10
Coops, we had a waiting list even at bottom league, and filleibrox every gsme.

27 Jun 2019 06:02:17
Frustrated blue, our waiting list was paltry back then in the bottom league and nowhere near 14,000 mate.
Only being frank and honest.

27 Jun 2019 06:41:44
coops, Ibrox was full every second week all the way back so what are you talking about?

27 Jun 2019 07:20:26
Yes, if you are going to extend the Govan stand the corners would be demolished with extra support steel added and hopefully the corners could be filled with seats.

27 Jun 2019 09:17:17
You could be looking st 8 to 10 million per season in revenue. Must be worth looking at.

27 Jun 2019 10:40:58
Jyf, do you not understand what i'm talking about? Let me rephrase it for you mate. Yes down at the lower leagues ibrox was full. I'm talking about the waiting list now jumping to 14k. Its risen because fans now realise that rangers are getting close to winning things again and with the steven gerrard impact of being our manager. So glory hunters want to go that we're now about to become a real force again. I watched a similar pattern unfold, when graeme souness became our player/ manager, in 1986.Hope that explains it for you pal.

27 Jun 2019 11:42:53
Coop I don't think the waiting list has ever been what it is, even during 9iar and the advocat era. The feel good is here and people want to be a part. Where would rangers be without you? Lol.

27 Jun 2019 12:03:39
Coop, its surely so positive to see 14000 on the waiting list and the way it should be! I am over in Spain at the moment and the amount of kids wearing Gers tops is absolutely brilliant to see and we should be encouraging them to the Brox?

28 Jun 2019 17:03:03
Stvg loyal - the fans were unable to get season tickets because we have a shortage of seats, hence the waiting list.

28 Jun 2019 17:04:40
coop, a lot of people might not buy season tickets because they can't afford it every year or maybe because they work shifts and can't make every Saturday. There will be plenty different reasons. You are not a "better" fan or a "die hard" or a "best more loyal fan" because you go to more games than another fan. that's nonsense mate. I bet if you asked every rangers fan if they wanted a season ticket they'd say yes, but its not always possible. Yip the feel good is here and that will encourage fans to get involved. I suggest you reign it in a bit because you are certainly not better than any other fan. I work shifts and can't make every Saturday but I'd be more than happy when I can't make it to give my season ticket to a fellow bear who would appreciate a day at the game. St johnstone and Livingston are home games I won't make due to work. I would have been working the old firm game at the end of august but I managed to get that weekend swapped so happy days.

28 Jun 2019 17:05:39
Steven Gerrard loyal
I waited in a que for nearly 2 hours to get my season ticket back after we got demoted to the 3rd division. We had 38-39k season ticket renewal to watch a garbage rangers team play against part timers and low quality opposition. I don't think you can question rangers fans loyalty for that.

28 Jun 2019 17:07:17
So in that saying, ie fairweather fans. If we were to do something insane in europe and win something that waiting list would double. But as they didn't want the tickets before they shouldn't be allowed?!? Rangers are selling a brand, and its hard to sell a brand that's in the lower divisions. Just be happy we have a club that even has a waiting list of one rather than a great looking 14,000 fans desperate to get tickets.

28 Jun 2019 17:08:13
There are many other ways to support the club if fans can't get to ibrox. Rtv, merchandise etc. "The best most loyal fans" are not just the one's that turn up at games. I work shifts so can't make every game. The games I won't make up until Christmas are st johnstone and Livingston. I would have been working the first old firm but luckily enough I got a guy at work to cover my shift. Anyway I'd be more than happy to give my season ticket for the games I can't make to a loyal bear who otherwise might not have been able to make the game.

26 Jun 2019 20:21:51
Would anyone take sturridge? Huge wages. Injury prone. Hasn't kicked a ball in years and his attitude had been questioned by Klopp and by the managers he's been on loan to. I'd stay well clear.

26 Jun 2019 20:49:32
Really good player, but too injury prone. don't need another rossiter.

26 Jun 2019 21:50:45
If he was fit and clear of injuries great but we're not in position to take chances with top earners. Any money spent in fees / wages must see a return for hence why we're looking like moving dozza and rossiter on. Both earning big bucks and were getting nothing for it (hope we don't rue it with those two right enough both cracking players when fit) . Hardie rudden dallas should be decent back up for fredo and defoe.

26 Jun 2019 22:14:38
Agree not a viable option with injury record and wages but Klopp was very complimentary of him at the end of the season there, hasn't questioned him at all.

28 Jun 2019 17:00:06
Nope. We have Morelos, 30 goals per season. Far more important than Sturidge!

26 Jun 2019 20:05:14
Has anyone else seen the zenit st Petersburg fans with the banner saying never give up Fernando in a nice tribute to Fernando ricksen.

28 Jun 2019 17:02:44
Good gesture think they were his last club he played for.

26 Jun 2019 19:32:08
Gerard has not earned the right to instantly manage an epl club -especially one of newcastles pedigree. at least Lampard got within a hair of promotion with derby and actually managed a decent side. if mr Gerard does take the job at the geordies he leaves rangers and Scotland a trophyless failure. so stay the f*** here mr g---finish the job. --#55.

26 Jun 2019 20:18:50
Gerrards a smart guy, no way he'd want to work for Ashley. Youd have to be mental to want that job while he's still chairman.

26 Jun 2019 20:59:09
Lampard did a fairly decent job but he'd be nowhere near the Chelsea job under normal circumstances. It's the perfect appointment. They have a ban so can't attract a huge manager but are able to bring in an untested legend and get the fans on board. Plus perfect for him as he has a ready made excuse if it doesn't work out.

26 Jun 2019 22:16:26
Newcastle pedigree? It would be a step down from us you balloon.

26 Jun 2019 18:40:40
I'm glad rossiter is leaving he's done nothing for 3 years all he did was face the crowd after progres N and the odd game here and there after 20 games into a season he's 22 now time to grow up or just go else where he's a total waste of 10k a week there's no defending him eh wouldn't u be happy to sit on 10k a week to stay fit and play 5 games a season it's a joke really.

26 Jun 2019 19:15:56
Jim, I dont think he can help that hes been injured and I doubt hes a player who is happy to sit back and take money. I really think there is a cracking player in there, its just a shame hes took one step forward and two steps back.

26 Jun 2019 19:30:21
When he left Liverpool they werent to bothered either as he has always been injury prone. Its a shame but the boy has to be moved on and has been a pure waste of money!

26 Jun 2019 20:52:35
HE WAS INJURED FOR 3 YEARS!

26 Jun 2019 21:54:04
He was an absolute stand out for Bury in the run in the boy is top drawer . we niggle we will rue selling him.

27 Jun 2019 07:22:27
J-zee, we wont be selling him, we are trying to let him go on a free with no pay off!

28 Jun 2019 17:00:41
Gutted hes left.

26 Jun 2019 16:51:34
Just forget you and I are Rangers daft. As an ambitious young manager your first year has been pretty good by any measure, taken a struggling no confidence team to one that had a real chance and imo only failed because of lack of consistency. You get the offer of Manager of Derby, not an easy gig tough league to get out of, on big money, money ain't your motivation, success is, so you turn it down. Next you get the offer of manager at Newcastle, top league in the world with fans near as crazy as ours. Has got to be very tempting, hope our gaffer is a better man than me cause I'd be tempted. Would like to think I'd still say no.

26 Jun 2019 17:03:54
Really? Tempted by newcastle? Rafa couldn't wait to get out because he wasn't backed financially. Newcastle, unless sold to a new owner, will be a bottom half club fighting relegation. Sorry but anyone who has an ounce of ambition would avoid that club like the plague. Shame because Newcastle is a great club that is rotten to the core with sports direct written all over it. I know there was talk of the club being sold and I think I read that a bid had been tabled. Good luck to newcastle fans.

26 Jun 2019 18:27:19
I agree with coldo here. Newcastle utd are and always have been my favourite english club. I've been at st. james' park, on a good few occasions and the toon fans were brilliant with us. They are a fantastic football club, but with mike ashley as owner, they're going absolutely nowhere! I still think there will be a lot of interest in the manager's job, but candidates will think twice, with ashley still at the helm. Whereas if ashley sold the club the interest would be through the roof. That fat cockney is ruining a terrific football club, with the 2nd best supporters in the world. Its a terrible shame what ashley has done to newcastle utd and the geordie supporters. They have a very loyal support, who always pack out st. james' park and at away games.

26 Jun 2019 18:49:34
Im betting wont touch with a barge pole Chris Waddell and Alan shearer have even said anybody with any sense wont come near Newcastle with Ashley still involved so no danger he will go there.

26 Jun 2019 19:12:21
He has also had years to put in 'dodgy deals' all over the place, god help them.

26 Jun 2019 19:32:48
Correct Coldo, Ashley has the club were he wants them and its rotten to the core!

28 Jun 2019 17:01:35
a bookmaker has already paid out on Newcastle being relegated.

26 Jun 2019 13:13:35
Guys, so far I can understand where our new players will fit into this years squad, with the exception of Greg Stewart, not sure what his purpose will be. We already have a strong midfield and with Defoe and Morelos up front, with a possible extra forward signing coming in. He was also not that great at Aberdeen, Kilmarnock or Birmingham. Thoughts?

26 Jun 2019 13:40:00
Squad player at best.

Coldo is best poster to answer that one. he is an expert on Stewart.

26 Jun 2019 13:40:40
GS would play in SA position.

26 Jun 2019 14:12:40
Thought he done well with Kilmarnock. Aberdeen dont play to his style so I wouldnt worry about that. He tore us apart a few times as well so I have trust in Stevie G that he is making the right decision. At least give the boy until Christmas before judging him.

26 Jun 2019 14:22:21
He's a squad player because that's what we need is a strong pool to choose from can't agree he was poor at killiie
just hope the boy gets a chance, too many on here slaughtered him before he's kicked a ball if our management see something in him fair dues I appreciate they get it wrong at times but at least let us see him in a game.

26 Jun 2019 15:31:15
Am I true blue? All I have ever said about stewart is that he is proven at spl level and would be a better squad player than what we already have.

26 Jun 2019 15:35:41
Said for weeks he was never a rangers standard of player very unhappy with this signing but no matter who pulls on the shirt they will always get my 100% backing.

26 Jun 2019 15:59:33
I agree with Coldo on this. Stewart will give us cover in RW, AM and up front! Ideal squad player and as we have no number 10's at present we can focus all finance on one rather than hedge our bets as we now have cover.
I don't think he will be world beating but this is a very shrewd deal in my eyes.

26 Jun 2019 16:40:55
Stewart will be perfect, replacing Lafferty on the bench, I am joking this time he's ours and I'll support him.

26 Jun 2019 16:54:03
Stewart will deputise for Arfield this season Im sure, and will do a good job!

26 Jun 2019 17:29:04
Stewart is going to surprise a lot of folk this year, he can play and will push Arfield for the role in behind striker. Give the lad a chance guys. his assists and goals will speak for themselves at end of the day.

26 Jun 2019 18:43:13
reckon he will have a run as the 10.

27 Jun 2019 00:35:56
Good range of answers there. Will be interesting to see how he is used and where his strengths lie when needed. Nice one fellas.

28 Jun 2019 17:02:54
also reckon he will surprise later in the year as a striker.

read the post about liam Henderson and think the boy is doing really well and enjoying his football, its good to see their is life after Celtic and rangers.

26 Jun 2019 02:10:43
Sorry craig halket but the spoon burners are nowhere near our level.

26 Jun 2019 00:11:53
TURNbull has failed his medical but wouldn't wish that on the young lad.

26 Jun 2019 02:01:15
You've got to wonder if that's why he didn't sign for Norwich.
