Get in lads. Still need a creator but we look like we will be a hard team to score against this year. Back 4 look absolutely solid.

26 Jul 2018 23:01:43
Good result.
Average performance.
We rode our luck a bit tonight, although the defence looks solid, especially big Goldson. They had a few good chances and probably deserved at least a draw but I think we managed the game well. I suppose our new look midfield will take time to gel, but we hardly strung two passes together tonight. Tav had an off day, happy for Morelos, and the boy Kent looks like a player.
Happy with the result, but we still have work to do.

26 Jul 2018 23:04:30
Well done FB, only thing missing from your post is “well done to tne board and DK for providing support to SG”

It’s not that difficult!

26 Jul 2018 23:48:08
Exactly, what a change from last season. That's 4 games without conceding so looking positive. Goldson looks a steal at £3 million.

27 Jul 2018 09:26:03
Just want to say thank you and well done to Stevie and the boys for their victory last night. Tie not over by a long shot but already the boys have delivered our first away victory in Europe for over 10 long years . sporting Lisbon the last I beleive . Well done lads.

26 Jul 2018 21:49:32
Great performance from the boys tonight. I won't lie a few moments I was screaming at my TV with some bad touches or passes, but exactly the result we needed and deserved. Morelos for me was 10/10 and you could see his confidence grow after the goal and throughout the game. Hopefully now all the boo boys will be silenced (for a while anyway) . Another clean sheet aswell. Looking forward to the return leg now.

26 Jul 2018 23:21:14
Give it a rest with the boo boys rubbish. Enjoy the victory and now looking forward to the game st ibrox next week.

27 Jul 2018 08:10:39
Well it’s not rubbish when the only ‘banter’ some of our fans have is slaying our players. But yea enjoyed the victory Baz.

28 Jul 2018 00:02:38
Baz they kn who they are . and if they do can they try and refrain. even for a little while.

26 Jul 2018 21:51:23
As much as Morelos needs some 'fine tuning' thought he was excellent tonight. goldsons positional sense is excellent👌🏻But let's not start sucking dicks yet😂first job done.

26 Jul 2018 22:38:50
Rainbow ranger 🤣.

26 Jul 2018 21:41:27
great result. unfortunately we couldn't string 2 passes together.

26 Jul 2018 22:33:52
Not sure silky soccer was the order of the day for that game. Grind out a Clean sheet, sneak a goal, work hard and stick together. Job done on that front. # let's go.

26 Jul 2018 22:39:44
Seriously.

26 Jul 2018 21:29:09
Maybe Bristol fans didn't like Kent but I love him already.

26 Jul 2018 22:33:33
Why? He didn't do much tonight. Granted it was his first game and he's not had time to get used to his new team mates.

26 Jul 2018 20:39:52
Do we know why we're playing in that kit tonight? Assuming something to do with Croat laws on gambling sponsorship, similar to when we had to black out Carling in certain cup tried previously?

26 Jul 2018 22:29:54
Hearing it was more to do with both home and away strips clashing with the Croats blue and white stripes and we (like many others) aren’t allowed to wear our third kit in Europe.
Just what I was told, dunno if it’s correct.

26 Jul 2018 23:08:48
But then we technically did wear a 3rd kit because we didn't wear our home or away kit so we wore a third kit so why were we not allowed to just wear our orange 3rd kit, very strange UEFA are.

26 Jul 2018 20:06:21
Ps. that's the first pre practised set piece I have seen working in a number of years. In Stevie we trust.

26 Jul 2018 21:54:01
Utterly hopeless. Wearing tragic training tops as strips.

26 Jul 2018 21:56:54
Tragic strips lol.

26 Jul 2018 22:42:11
we won 1-0 away from home in Europe and some of you are worried about strips.

26 Jul 2018 22:54:31
I know what's tragic sands and it’s no the strips.

26 Jul 2018 23:14:33
oh timmy still obsessed with everything that is rangers

you weren’t the guy who drove 8hrs in a foreign country to go to one of our games were you?

you need to get out more mate get a team get a bird get something mate

it’s funny but we still pity you.

26 Jul 2018 20:04:48
Delighted for morelos, hope all the douters have shut up.

26 Jul 2018 21:55:03
Aw young bear they won't be happy unless he has 30 assits and scores 40 per season mate

Well done morelas that's 2 goals and one assit in our first 4 games.
Defence also awesome only neg was tav thought he had a poor game other than the cross for the goal
Another clean sheet.
Overall plus marks for full team.

26 Jul 2018 22:24:51
No chance if that young bear.

26 Jul 2018 22:34:03
Not even almost, once he’s done that a few times and puts in more effort then I’ll stop calling him a dud. I hope he enjoys his night and gains some confidence. Let’s not lie, they pumped us but we’ll prevailed similar to the years under Walter. I think if we can keep doing that and getting results in very difficult places we’ll done well. Let’s hope we pass the ball better in the future!

27 Jul 2018 14:25:45
Sorry what player we slagging here holly 55? Tav? windass? . Kent? Murphy? Jack? Morelos? One things fir sure you cannot say the boys put a kack if effort in. in that heat too that we are unaccostemed. I thot they did really really weell so well done from me boys . only my humble opinion though.

26 Jul 2018 19:25:44
sometimes i miss Barrie McKay, sometimes i don't, just thought i'd ask your opinion on him leaving?

26 Jul 2018 21:52:05
He's gone and I refuse to dwell on a player who doesn't want to play for our club.

26 Jul 2018 22:04:48
Always I don’t.

I did however feel a little sorry for him upon meeting his agent last year. Gordon smiths son. Without going into any detail he was about the last guy I’d want representing me. Completely unprofessional and from what he told me I struggled to see how he could add any value whatsoever to young Barrie’s career or financial choices.

26 Jul 2018 22:05:54
I watched him warm up at half time against Peterhead a few years ago. My 1st thought was oh look at this wee tosser. Rivaldo wannabe without the skill. Not good enough or required. One OF goal and he thinks he has made it. Baws. real players want more.

26 Jul 2018 18:49:29
Big changes tonight for our team let's hope the guys who get a start show how good they are. Looking forward to watching them.

26 Jul 2018 21:54:44
Really impressed with Conor Goldson. The guy looks class.

26 Jul 2018 16:13:50
london jock, replying to the person on talk sport andy goldstein, rangers and unwshed not big clubs outside scotland. i live in london as a proud rangers boy here is what i reply back to goldstein, say this was to happen gers start in english league div 3 we would attract better fiancial backing for sure we would come through, wouldn't be easy but wouldn't be scared either. it would take 3 seasons toget to epl, hard seasons may i add but i'd say championship is harder than epl, sat, wed games non stop, more physical, and more unpredictable. you could be 9th and still get promted via playoffs/ take away skys huge money the epl isn't that great, its boring to watch, outside the top 6 teams are awful to watch, even the top 6 is boring sometimes. watching utd like watching paint dry. my point being is this i seriously think if we we there in epl we would be top half in division more money better players we could attract it would take time we would be a big team there unlike the burnleys, watfords. brighton, . london jock.

26 Jul 2018 16:40:23
London jock, what a load of tripe. Top 2 up automatically next 4 in playoffs so have no idea how anyone can finish 9th and get promoted via playoffs when u wouldnth even be in playoffs finishing 9th.

26 Jul 2018 17:30:06
frustrated blue, you can be 9th all season in championship have a bad season, scrape through to top 6 is what i meant to say, win playoffs and hit jackpot, . comprendi.

26 Jul 2018 18:41:36
U didn't say that tho u said u can be 9th and still get promoted. Neither us or celtic would get out of championship at first attempt Imo we'd be lucky to finish top half.

26 Jul 2018 19:26:19
Got 2 words that blow your theory of old firm being super successful should we ever transfer to the english leagues. Those 2 words are. Newcastle utd. Massive support but If you end up with a thief as an owner your never getting near the top. We should know, we had these sharks running our club for long enough. Point is, yes if given backing then we could go down there and win the epl in our first 10 years but just as likely we'd linger in the championship for just as long. More to the point who cares. Got a qualifier tonight.

26 Jul 2018 15:05:04
Totally off piste here, but I've been to a few Milk Cup games this week and there's a right few wee guys that have looked great prospects. Hope we've someone over scouting.
Anyhoo, good luck tonight and travel safe to all our fans who are there. Mon The Bears.

26 Jul 2018 15:00:01
If reports are true, man city's kean bryan is joining us today. But some news outlets have him as a midfielder and some say defender. we need another midfielder like a hole in the head, but badly need a defender and at least 1 striker (i d prefer 2). I know a few don't agree with me, but i would also like to see a couple of decent scots come in, as i feel its important for a scottish (or any other team of any country) to have a spine of decent players from that country. (i know some fans don't care about that, but i do) I'd like to see a few of our players in the scotland team again. I Am hoping once gerrard's seen a few games he might find a player or two in scotland to sign perhaps in january. Though am not sure what the scouts are doing domestically- as clearly they either arn't recommending anyone or are being ignored.

26 Jul 2018 15:52:29
He is a centre back. Left footed. Moulded in the pep gaurdiola style defender, in the sense he likes to play on the ball. Can also play as a holding midfielder.

26 Jul 2018 13:45:56
Ed can you put a poll up, What badge we would all prefer to be on our tops?

The RFC one we use just now,
Or the lion with rangers football club.

26 Jul 2018 16:47:32
Our undoubted national interest would certainly ensure national media coverage instead of Sheep V Burnley tonight. I think a successful Rangers in Europe over coming seasons with SG at helm is a brilliant starter to be taken seriously in any league.

26 Jul 2018 11:52:12
Kean Bryan from Man City will surely spell the end for either Windass or Candieas.

26 Jul 2018 11:58:59
How, ' mInly a defender or left mid.

26 Jul 2018 12:03:01
He's a defensive player.

26 Jul 2018 12:05:10
He’s a defender/ defensive mid.

26 Jul 2018 13:25:42
Left sided midfielder windass and candieas both been tried there unsuccessfully. Don't think any of the 2 of them fit the bill as far as SG is concerned so in my opinion at least both or at least one of them will go. Hopefully both allowing a better standard of player to come in.

26 Jul 2018 15:46:37
Still think candieas played wide right is a major asset to us!

26 Jul 2018 18:04:06
Not good enough and I think SG knows this.

26 Jul 2018 11:28:44
Further to my prevoius post all of these guys that we have been linked to or fans want signed davis lafferty moult jones defoe plus more not one of these guys have a sell on value. We as a club are not in a position to keep throwing money at players like this.
All we are doing is putting a sticking plaster on a gaping wound.

We don't need journeymen we need hungry young guys at the start of the careers that we can use for a couple of season then sell on for a profit.

26 Jul 2018 11:56:41
Perhaps you will like our next signing Bryan then. There are a lot posting on here "We don't need any more kids we need proven players" and others who share your view. The truth is we need a mixture of both. Whichever view you take for the sake of my sanity STOP with the sell on value crap. I don't want to sell our best players.

26 Jul 2018 13:34:00
Steven Davis would be the best midfielder in the league if he came back. a midlfield 3 of arfield coulibaly and davis would be very strong in the SPL.

26 Jul 2018 16:29:42
We also need to STOP 9.10 IAR!

26 Jul 2018 11:12:06
Hey guys good luck to sg blue n white army tonight.
Now to my point. I feel that we need to get our finger out with regards to our scouting systems and contacts throughout world football.

Im going to highlight one of main reasons imo that that mob are ahead of us
Van dyke, Armstrong they made a fortune on them

Dembele edw nitcham sinclair boyata between them in the current market your talking between 40 - 70 mill all of these guys apart from edw have been picked up for under 4 mill.

Over the past 5 transfer windows we have signed close to 30 players maybe more and apart from morelas and maybe tav not one of them has been valued at over 5 million.
It is simple not good enough. Mark Allan in his interview stated that he had been given a blank sheet to set up a scouting network. Well he is a year in and i don't see that much progress in this department.
We should have a army of scouts scouring the french n belguim german lower leagues and u21 set ups
Last season our young boys played some of the cream of europe surely our management team seen some players throughtout these games that have potential and that we could pursue and not just on a loan basis.
Dorran artfield mcgreg murphy all good pros but not one of these guys have a sell on value. Our business model at the mom is pants and we really need to get this sorted as a priorty. Sg is a big name in world football and we should be using this to entice some of these young boys throughout europe and beyond.

Rangers and scottish football is a potential spring board to the english prem to hungry young pros throughout the world that's the dream we should be selling these guys.

26 Jul 2018 11:54:47
Stewart's it takes time mark Allen been there 10 months.
We r making some inroads, Docherty, mccrorie, Katie, goldstone and Bryan if we get him, mob also coulibally and Sadiq.

26 Jul 2018 12:18:20
I think Mark Allen is doing a good job.

I think he's doing exactly what you say he's not doing. The signings we've paid out for since he's arrive nearly all have the potential to improve as players and value.

It doesn't happen overnight.

The youth set up also has improved in last couple of years.

One thing's for sure, this year will have a young team, which should have plenty of hunger, energy and drive.

I'm waiting patiently to see if this is coupled with the right level of ability. Tonight should give an indication.

26 Jul 2018 14:59:48
If reports are true, man city's kean bryan is joining us today. But some news outlets have him as a midfielder and some say defender. we need another midfielder like a hole in the head, but badly need a defender and at least 1 striker (i d prefer 2). 26 Jul 2018 10:30:50
I wish Gerrard would get his finger out and sort out our striker problems!

I can’t see Solanke happening tbh I see him being a part of the Liverpool first team (bench player) but what about Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham he can bang the goals in and he isn’t going to be apart of Chelsea’s first team he is most likely going to he loaned out again. He would definitely bang then in up here.

26 Jul 2018 20:43:23
Abraham would be a great signing on loan from Chelsea.

26 Jul 2018 09:31:21
All you see on here is moaning about morelos and windass it's still only pre season give the guys a chance . Personally I think they will find their goal scoring form from last season and if they do rangers will be some team. Lot of people forget the amount of goals we scored last season.

26 Jul 2018 09:53:27
Have to agree, we have played 3 games one was a pre season game people need to get a grip players finding there fitness give them some time to gel.

26 Jul 2018 10:32:50
Problem with windass is when he is not scoring he is not contributing. Morelos at least puts a shift in a bullies defenders, windass is a luxury player and we aren't good enough to carry passengers.

26 Jul 2018 12:00:51
Just watch when they start scoring all the same ones that are calling for their heads will be posting constant about how great they are lol it's a joke honestly we don't have money to just go buy who we want or it would have been done our problem wasn't scoring goals it was goals against so that issue has been worked on with the money available and rightly so.

26 Jul 2018 09:00:12
Going to make a prediction that rangers will win 2-0 or 2-1 and that Morelos will have a blinding game and score! Can't wait to hear the apologies about him being such a poor forward. 😉.

26 Jul 2018 10:35:14
I wouldn't say he is a poor forward, his confidence is shot and could do with being taken ouou of the firing line for a couple of matches but until Sat is is fit or we sign another striker then he is our only real option.

26 Jul 2018 08:54:30
Just an observation bears, but I'm still seeing people saying we'll be bringing in another striker on loan, Solanke, Defoe etc Correct me if I'm wrong here but I thought the maximum amount of loan signings a club could make in a single season was 4? Since we already have Ejaria, Kent, Coulibaly and Sadiq, is that not our whack?

Read also that Derby are close to signing Jack Marriot for an initial 3m. Anyone else think we have missed a trick here? Not seen much of the lad but from what I've heard he certainly know the way to goal and would of ripped it up in Scotland. I also really like the look of the boy we've been linked with from Willem 2! Look a cracking player and according to the internet is only valued at around 2.5m.

26 Jul 2018 09:06:39
Sure 5 is max . did newcastle not send us 5 duds a couple years back?

26 Jul 2018 09:22:21
There is no limit in spfl.

26 Jul 2018 09:39:21
Think only a limited number loans from 1 club.

26 Jul 2018 15:58:51
From non Scottish clubs no limit, from a Scottish club no more than two from the same club.

26 Jul 2018 08:45:38
Wouldnt say well done the board for waggy getting 10% for him is fine but selling him for 250k was a travesty we need to value our players better hopefully fod won't be given away cheaply as for windass he's an 18 goal midfielder let's keep him and let sg find his best position and watch him get better and more valuable
Anyway lookin fwd to tonight
0.0 would be good, tight and hard to break down like walters 2008 run.

26 Jul 2018 09:10:01
we need an away goal, 0-0 would be a poor result, 1-1 would be better.

26 Jul 2018 09:23:27
Roasting here in Croatia, rumours out here candaes, mccrorie and windlass subs.

26 Jul 2018 09:59:47
They rumours from the record Jboy?

26 Jul 2018 10:43:32
Right Marco, I'm surprised re mccrorie, but trust the manager.

26 Jul 2018 08:29:14
With the players reported who are back fit and players in media today who are being dropped. And Tav who can't really defend but can create loads how not go with. Mcgregor
Flanagan katic goldson john
Tav coulibaly jack
Kent morelos murphy.

26 Jul 2018 08:48:03
Tav in the middle of the Park doesn’t really help either. Need guys who can tackle in the middle.

26 Jul 2018 09:07:46
Tav in the middle, don't need to tackle he's there to create that's what coulibaly and jack in there for.

26 Jul 2018 09:13:47
I think this is how we will line up tonight in a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 whatever you want to call it. If arfield makes it he will play instead of ejeria/ mcrorie

mgregor
tav katic goldson Flanagan
jack coulibaly ejeria/ mcrorie
candias morelos murphy.

26 Jul 2018 09:14:55
Tav on the right would work in a 352 though
Shagger
Flanagan Katic Goldson
Tav Coulbaly Mccroie, Jack, John
Windass Morelos

Or something like that.

26 Jul 2018 09:23:57
I have a feeling ryan kent may start tonight.

26 Jul 2018 09:24:24
Windass won't start he's on his way out by the looks of things.

26 Jul 2018 10:05:17
Couli, Ejaria and Kent in line for starts. Windass, Candy and McCrorie out. McCrorie our surprises me unless he has a knock.

26 Jul 2018 10:44:03
Use might want to try keep up to date John is still out injured won’t even be on the bench never mind in the starting 11 I it will be the same team as last week with maybe Coulibaly coming in the CM.

26 Jul 2018 10:46:17
Although surprised scotty I wrote on here three weeks ago still got a real problem re toe injury sustained last year.
Was shot down, folk saying only toe . my info ligament and muscle keeps detating from bone.

26 Jul 2018 10:59:27
Yeah Jboy. You can see in games he’s def carrying a few niggles. going to be a big player for us in future so game time has to be managed. SG apparently been impressed with Jack, competition for places is what he’s wanting.

26 Jul 2018 15:06:12
Scotty be careful u talk too much sense for here. As I've said we need eleven better players than we had last year to challenge. With best from last year coming from bench.

26 Jul 2018 06:48:33
Just read that we are to get 10% of the Waghorn deal. Well done the board. Hope he goes for as much as possible now. Will all haters of the board please stand up.

26 Jul 2018 07:16:19
James2018 where is your source?

26 Jul 2018 07:29:47
Reported in the DR online this morning.

26 Jul 2018 10:07:02
After punting him for 250k it’s the least the board should have done. Still sold short on him and Garner tbh.

26 Jul 2018 11:05:05
I agree Scotty but most of the fans wanted rid of these guys.

26 Jul 2018 15:07:00
Interesting to note saggy has sell on clause hopefully so does garner.

Review Of The Day 26th July 2018

26 Jul 2018 06:29:40
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 26th July 2018

26 Jul 2018 04:38:37
No lafferty. Had his chances. Big sadiq hasn't had chance to show us what he's got and when arfield is back fit crossing balls in for the big man who knows plus Lassana Coulibaly still to get a run out let's give Stevie's team a chance before we start shouting about bringing back ex players near the ends of their careers. Let's give this team a chance. let's GO.

26 Jul 2018 10:09:21
Don’t think we will see Arfield crossing too many balls he will play thru the middle and be expected to make runs into box. Def looking fwd to seeing Sadiq!

26 Jul 2018 10:47:13
Scotty is Arfield in croatia.

26 Jul 2018 11:00:36
Jboy I don’t think he’s travelled mate.

25 Jul 2018 23:34:50
Don't panic, there's still loads of life left in the transfer window personally I'm confident we will sign a marquee player from the premiership probably a striker on loan, Why you ask?

This year all premiership teams have to register 25 player by 09th of August our Scottish window doesn't close til the 31st of August

After the 9th you will see Who s available for yourselves it's a smart move from SG and my to bide our time until then

Premier League clubs are required to name squads of 25 players, eight of whom must be homegrown. Clubs are permitted to select a maximum of 17 foreign players, while there are no limits on the number of under-21 players.

25 Jul 2018 23:28:57
I’d sell Windass for 3m and steal young Cochrane from hearts and Moult, we would still have enough left for a loan signing.

Fed up with Windass and his diva behaviour. There’s been a current theme with a few of these players in the last few years all mouth pieces and pretending to idolise Jimmy Bell to gain fans trust.

More interested in posting what they’re dog is doing, rather than rolling up their sleeves and battling till they leave every inch of themselves on the park.

Onwards and upwards bears. We know have a manager who might not have the players to do, what his mind sees, but he’s astute enough to bin those that think they can.
