Hi Bears. Of course I am very disappointed by today's result but let's calm down. We can still win the league, it is still in our own hands. I thought we'd win today but surely we didn't think we'd win every single game from now to the end of the season? Neither will they. Let's hope SG can regroup for the next game and get Tav and Alf back. Glass half full Bears!

We just need to grit our teeth . hearts were immense today . couple new players new manager new philosophy. They play like that every week and they will soar . A lot people are hear on tonight telling a lot of fellow fans to calm down I think you just need listing to steven gerrards comments tonight and that tell you it all.
Even he is raging and knows that some these players are not good enough they bottled it again no excuses.
I think for us to win the title we need to strenghten the lack of goals from other members in our team apart from defoe and morelos is terrible and needs addressing we need a proper attacking mid and right winger who score goals and possibly a third striker.

He is a total liability and no matter how much he's seemingly improved he's still a petulant child who is costing us dearly. Yes he scores goals but so would any decent striker. We need a striker who can score in the BIG games yet still stay on the park and unfortunately, for me, Morelos isn't that striker.

Earlier on I posted at my concern at the depth of our squad and the quality or lack of it that's there. can any of my detractors really say hand on heart we're got the depth to cope? there's no way Morelos will get to end of season without another ban we need desperately another forward Defoe at his age is more of an impact player, Ojo waste of a squad number, Kent Still feeling the weight off the fee IMO
Jack injured to what extent we don't know Tav still out Polster looks better than Flannigan I think we should be keeping Doc not seeing him off to Sunderland or wherever.

I think some on here need to calm it down a bit. Terrible result and performance today and we struggled a bit since the winter break.
But These are the same players that comfortably beat our main rival at their own ground. The season is a long one, still plenty to play for.

Defoes ability is nt in question, but he is nt suited to those types of games, he’s not physical enough and can’t get involved in the game as much as we would like, we had no one to change him with when it was nt working for him.

Man, I usually try to remain positive even in defeat and look for a way things can improve BUT after that today where do we go?
We are such a one tactic team with limited options on the bench ( when was the last time we had a sub come on and make an impact? Middleton v Villareal I think) , how can we change this, I think we need to get loans in as it seems we don't have anymore cash to spend on the players needed.
I think we need another striker, one that has a bit of height and presence and good aerial ability, another Candeias type of player for the right hand side as without Tav we are rubbish there, Aribo limited in that position, either give Patterson a chance or get another right wing back in and to be greedy I'd like a no. 10 but not Windass. Next 3 at home and they are away next 3, if they don't drop any points then I'll have to ad it chances are slim but think they now have some momentum building.

Unconvincing since Winter break, so I suppose today's performance isn't such a shock.
Hearts deserved it, very difficult to play against and never gave up. We were poor, no excuses.
Now, more than ever, Morelos has to keep the head til end of season. Also, has to banging the goals in as without him we are devoid of ideas sometimes. 5 games lately he has had to sit out.
One game in hand. We were 5 points behind Celtic going into December clash. We have to keep winning as we know they always seem to find a way.

For me I've said the summer window would be critical but maybe this window approach will have to be revisited. this result has been coming the last few weeks and the strength in depth is really looking poor
Get in Boyle from Hibs for the right side, looking at Shrewsbury tonight they have a couple of potentially good forwards that wouldn't break the bank and the midfield really needs to be looked at, Kamara is too inconsistent, Aribo no use on the right wing, and a creative type in the mould of horror-of-horrors Scott Allan required - too many commas etc I know

Don’t know you but the club have such a thing as a budget so the high end player is probably out of reach and if the Shrewsbury players can put in an almost winning performance against Liverpool they would be worth at least a swatch at, Boyle is a tried and tested player in SPL and lastly Allan may not be the best in the UK but his attacking and passing are consistently good

A lot of comments on here about how we need another striker who can bully defences like Morelos does when Morleos isn't available as I think we're all in agreement that Defoe did nothing today and can't play as a lone striker. Well, I'm sitting here watching Jason Cummings pull Liverpool CB's all over the place, and scored twice for Shrewsbury. And yes, there's no VVD playing for Liverpool but he's giving Lovren and Matip the run around. Thoughts? I really think he wasn't given a fair crack at it when he was with us on loan.

The main reason we will lose the league is because we don't have depth in the squad almost same team every week and our 2 top players out showed this across the road there still buying they now have 16 mid field players now all almost fit we were world beaters few weeks ago and going on holiday yes it was a holiday was wrong should of been in this country and environment Fatigue will creep in now with so many games plus europe will haunt us.

Looks like i wss being generous, some folk quoting 10mill . Av said it all season but really don't get what u all see in Kamara. Yes he can be tidy on the ball. But he very often can be extremely slack in possession week in week out. Before kick off Hearts were six points behind fellow strugglers St Mirren.
Other managers would've been more negative and played with one up front and hoped to get a draw against Rangers.
So Stendel is to be commended for being cavalier and going for the win and three points (even losing the first goal as well)
Well done to Hearts and I expect them to start climbing the table now, as their attitude and fight were first class today.
There will be more twists and turns before the end of the season, with both Glasgow giants dropping points.
Worrying that Aribo has become poor most games now, and I don't know why Stevie-G keeps bringing on Ojo, because he is never going to change any game.

We looked very uncomfortable today, we have no one to hold the ball up, when Morelos is out . Now I've said all season, the only team that beat's us, is us . Our problem is mentality not ability . Folk on here slating Flannigan following that utterly disastrous performance are way off the mark. Yeah he was utterly awful, but wasn't the reason we lost the match. We lost the match when Morelos got sent off in the old firm.
If anyone thinks Defoe can play up top on his own they are deluded. He's slow, weak and small. He does not fit into our system and the fact we have wingers galore but only two strikers at the club is what is costing us. The EXACT same as last year!
I live SG but how on earth has this not been addressed. I've posted about this a few times and today it's glaringly obvious. You cannot win a league with two strikers. Especially two that aren't like for like. Once again I'll say that if Defoe isn't playing off someone, he isn't worth playing at all.
Yeah it's unfortunate that Greg Stewart is injured but we should never be in this position. Lafferty should have been replaced with someone of the same ilk. Even that big guy ikpeazu could have been bought for next to nothing. He might be average, but he bothers defenders and creates space for others. No coincidence our midfield goals dry up without Morelos.

I think we've left our fighting spirit out in Dubai, the winter shutdown never does us any favours. However, with blooding the young guys these days is also not working out. Give Patterson and others a taste of the first team, and what happens? they do well and get dumped again. That's a bit like opening a tube of Pringles and saying you can only have one!
We are currently performing like lost boys, and them up the road are starting to pull away, if we are not careful we could end up with egg on our faces. I know we have a couple of injuries presently, but c'mon guys, we have a big squad with some players who ARE good enough, are just not getting game time.

I thought we toiled today and for what it’s worth the way I see it we seriously need a plan b we need to stop playing Kent on the left put him in to his natural position on the right buy a left winger and a big lad upfront to go route 1 if things aren’t working out with Defoe as the lone striker but I know money is tight but sometimes you just have to go route 1 and change it with a big striker upfront. 🇬🇧.

And sometimes you just have to realise that punting it up the park to the big guy is why we now play in one of the poorest leagues in Europe. I remember one European coach called it 'resorting to the Scottish tactic'. We will never improve in our overall stature as a name in Europe by playing like that.

Tinman, I too am mystified why kent is on the left and aribo (left footed) is on the right, they never try to get outside the full backs, but continually cut back inside, into trouble usually, facing a wall of defenders, and making our play very narrow and congested in the middle. We need something different quickly, teams have worked it out, no surprise element in our attacking. Gerrard says in interview that we had 6,7, or 8 passengers today - team meeting should be good tomorrow!

For me the board have been to busy trimming squad when we should actually be signing a couple quality players if we want to win the leauge.
As a lone striker defoe doesn't cut it for me and am not excited at prospect of him playing more when morelos leaves.

We won't win a title with this type of play. Flanagan should have been subbed right away. He has no finesse when he gets on the ball first and usually turns it over. His pace is atrocious for an outside back. I know he's rusty but he looked better on the left side than on the right side. Goldson has to cover for Flanagan the whole time. Sometimes a big squad can have the opposite effect, to many new players, foreign players who maybe can't settle and adjust to the Scottish game. As long as we keep our first team squad and we stay clear of suspensions and injuries then we will win the league this season. We have a close knit squad and because of that I firmly believe we will be CHAMPIONS.
