If arsenal scouts were at the game looking at mcgregor and boogie i for one would not mind them going if it means rangers getting in £10m + for both and get few fresh faces in as i think we could cope with losing these 2

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2011 22:16:13

The Bougherra & Mcgregor rumour has been circulating on a few other websites for a couple of days. Talk is Arsenal are gonna offer £12m for both.

It's a hard one to take but if that sort of money is going to be offered then its a given that they are both off!

Alexander is a decent replacement but nowhere near as good as McGregor who I personally think is the best keeper in Britain at present. If Bougherra goes then it looks like Walter & Ally will be looking for 2 defenders in the next few days.

Saying that if they do go then its probably gonna free up around £30k worth of wages so maybe that can soften the blow for all us bears as we may be able to offer some decent wages to signing targets.

The problem we have is that we are not classed as a decent team anymore and any good players we have are gonna get taken away from us.

In Walter we trust!

Why all the fuss about Rangers not signing anyone.

Surely we can use the money that has been freed up to bring in 2-3 quality players on loan then that will give the club 6 months to sort out the takeover.

Why spend money on players just now when we can use the wages from Miller, Velicka & hopefully Beattie plus any windfall from Charlie Adam's sale to bring in the players we need on loan.

If the Commons deal is stalling on an extra 5k a week why not offer him the 5k extra but tell him he will be brought in during the summer so that we do not have to spend £300k bringing him in just now.

Whats your thoughts? Click believable if you agree with signging 2-3 loan players or unbelievable if you want the club to spend money on bringing in new faces.

In Walter we trust!

Just heard on radio that rangers takeover is unlikely to happen this year if tax liabilities are not withdrawn by HMRC. if rangers don't win the tax case they will have to lodge an appeal which can take upto a year to reach courts.

Commons has been on celtics radar for sometime. celtic have made a £3.5m bid for commons according to sky sports. 8/5/2009.
tony mowbray has made it no secret of his admiration for commons.
looks like old walt is up to his old tricks and lost this time.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Walt has been up to his old tricks? and what tricks would they be? if you are trying to say walter is attempting to steal commons from celtic then you are wrong Walter has never stole any celtic target, yes your stupid team made an enquiry about commons but rangers offered money to derby so how could walter try and steal a celtic target when celtic were not even that interested until rangers wanted him. getyour facts right you idiot, I Can count on at least 10 occasions when celtic have attempted to steal rangers targets, that's why we don't reveal any transfer targets anymore. it seems like celtic are up to there old tricks you mean.

26 Jan 2011 17:37:46

Just shows you how bad and septic are when we have spent more money than them this season so far.they could easily go out and by a 5-7m striker or any position but shows how bad they are there is tight is a ducks arse in january

26 Jan 2011 17:33:07

Lets face it guys theres no epl players coming to ibrox.the rangers bank wil be hard pushed to secure a championship player.think we had better focus our sights on league one or scots first division.do we ev en have the clout to compete with the hibs and the aberdeens anymore.i hate to have to say it but our once great club can't attract championship players any more.the take them off us nowadays.

Commons deal fell through because bank would not sanction deal for 20,000 a week for any longer than end of season even though we have 18,000 from millers wages and a possible further 10,000 if velicka goes to swiss team the lloyds banking group shafting us again

Are some people really this stupid and deluded?. I don't normally post rumours because I don't hear a lot nor do I make up a lot!. But Bebe, Pavlyuchenko, Owen, Evans and Jovanovic have all been reported to be signing for Rangers. Do you guys actually pay attencion to what is happenin at Rangers? we couldn't afford to pay 16k for a badly needed left sided midfielder yet we are going to be able to match the wages of these guys? and I'm sure if Sir Alex was kind enough to donate these players on loan to rangers he and Walter must be much more than just friends!. Get real people I doubt there will be any new faces at Rangers this season which could be a good or bad thing with prices being inflated in January it would just add to the debt!.

Done deal Kris Commons to sign for Celtic this morning
Boyd also on Celtic's Radar couls sign on loan this morning and Danny Wilson joining on loan
Walter must be thinking what he has to do to get players in the front door!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

yes because neil lennon is such a good manager aint he the guy can't go a game without being told to go to the stands. I Mean has the guy ever signed a player by himself? he always seems to target players that other teams want. commons, boyd, wilson, amazing that they are either linked with rangers or used to play for rangers. the only reason Walter is finding it hard to get players is because your runt of a manger waits to see what player walter wants then tries to sign the player first.

I have hunted the world wide web,

And i cannot find anything linking us to Bebe, be it through news sites or journo Blogs.

I really don't get this because in january 2010 we sold pedro mendes for 2m and in the summer danny wilson 2m and kevin thomson 2m,
so that is 6m and we paid 4m jelavic and james beattie 1.2m and that is 5.2m so we should have 800,000 left plus we won the spl 2 years runnin, we got money for that and uefa cup and should have money for winnin the scottish cups and cis cups ed got any ideas why this has happened? ? {ed's note - when a player leaves you have to pay them what is known as a loyalty bonus if they haven't requested the transfer. It is a percentage of their remaining contract. That would easily swallow up the money.}

For the record Rangers receive 10% of any transfer fee for Charlie Adam over the 500K Blackpool paid! But the real question must be why did the club let Adam leave in the 1st place! Another one who camr through the ranks and was then let go Wilson to Liverpool who's next Ness Fleck OR Hutton serious questions have to be asked what is going on at THE CLUB

Re: mate u need educated, Adam was unfit at rangers not to mention played outta position he was often posted wide by Smith and looked half the player couple that with Old Firm were he ran outta steam literally 5 mins into the second half and had to come off was the last straw for wattie and he moved him on (in turn this has done wonders for him). Wilson didn't wanna stay at gers, he isn't a gers man and wen mumbling Kenny came sniffing about he jumped at the chance to join them. . we were desperate to keep him. Regards to Fleck sell him for the first decent bid we get, the boy needs to sort himself out poor trainer and still up to no good off the park he has flettered to decieve big time. Like Ness tho looks to have the right attitude too.

Enter Kris Commons into Google then select realtime
you can see the player is going to Celtic as reported by Radio Derbyshire anyway if he is a Rangers fan as mentioned in the press but is still chasing more cash we can do without these types at our club. Bebe not joining as insurance for player is to much on top of reported 17k a week. As the window looks to be closing on Rangers we will just need to buckle down and get on with it with the players we have. This present situation reminds me of Rangers in the early 90's Celtic go for player and we gazump them with more cash look where that has got us. How many of my fellow fans would give up 9 in a row then for a better bank balance now i seem to remember David Murray's words Celtic spend £5 we will spend £10 it now looks Celtic have been the better run club over the last decade! !

The guy that posted this "lets get it straight

1] total cost off tax bill 60 mill "

NOBODY knows the tax bill - not even HMRC, that's why investigations are still on-going - FACT. Back in the real world, Ed: do you happen to know if Charlie Adam has a sell-on clause in his contract? Blackpool are wanting £12 mill now - bit much for an overweight, squad-player if you asked me, but i'd happily take a cut! {ed's note - there is one, as far as I can find out, it is just no one is fully certain what it is!}

Let me guess the unwashed lot have been reading articles that have been written by Phil Mac Giolla Bhain again. lol this guy is a poisonous bitter little * * ! he has been found out for the lies he prints on MANY MANY occasions.

Although people are saying the Kris Commens deal is off and he is going to Celtic! In recent weeks with the reports for many newspapers and websites they were already saying that Ibrox was his preferred destination and that was before Walter had made it public we had opened talks with the player.

26 Jan 2011 09:28:08

Hi guys not a rumour just a thought. I reckon that we will sell McGregor to Villa, use the money to fund the move for defender and wages for commons, and also a striker. Weiss is only on loan and will move back to city summer, commons taking place there, defender big weir to retire and striker bought in place of miller. wot u think? In Wattie we trust.

Another angle on the banks thing is simply to remind people about what happened in germany when they were financing their war effort. .they devalued the mark so many times that it lost its value all together so you had the scenario of a man going into a bakers shop to buy a loaf of bread which might have a value of 10 or12 marks
but its inflated price was 2or 3million marks and consequently the man had a wheel-barrow full of marks just to buy a loaf of bread!they must have had a hell of an hourly rate. . . .?

Everybody keeps rattling on lloyds they are stopping this stopping that well lets waken up and smell the coffee. .the banking system collapsed recently remember! lloyds are a bank that industry has a fight on its hands to stay afloat too,
think of it another way.if you have a mortgage with llloyds and you need their support to keep a roof over your head im sure they would rather keep a roof over your head and not go bust because its the right thing to do its obvious that if rangers don't sign any players its not that the banks are bad sports "old chaps" its morally and ethically better to keep a roof over the heads of families than to worry about the beer swilling masses self centred opinions and tunnel vision with regard to football which seems to be the only sport that this happens to! strange that one eh. . .selfish people.

THE SCOTSMAN
tax man could saddle rangers with £80m debt. the club has been handed a £24m assessment by hmrc after investigation into offshore payments to players during the past decade.
combined with interest of £12 and possible add-on penalties it could reach up to £54m plus with about £30m debt to the bank.
the club is expected to appeal in a process that could take up to a year to complete.
the takeover is off.

26 Jan 2011 00:54:23

It does appear to be the case that Commons is going to celtic as we cannot match wages on offer due the the constraints being placed on us by lloyds.

What annoys me is that surely lloyds must realise that the only way to make money in scotland is by winning the league and playing in europe every season, so buy selling off our assets (players) and refusing to replace them will just place us in a much weaker position financially, whereas if they released a small amount of funds and allow us to strengthen we could again bring in another £10-15m in champions league money, although what has happened to previous money from this source is anyones guess.

We can't blame celtic for once again signing a player we are interested in, as we did it to them for years when we could, we just need to get this take over sorted one way or the other so we know where we stand, either that or lloyds needs to open there eyes and realise we won't make money if our team is not competing, like celtic during our 9 in a row, we could be faced with that scenario if something is not done soon
