Unfortunately Andy, the people that need to heed your comments are the very ones who are not interested.
Direct action is required from the club to name and shame these folk. I can't believe in this day and age we still have to highlight to grown men and women that bigotry is unacceptable.
Talking of which, did you witness the disgusting behaviour of Feyernood fans last night? Really sad

has anyone actually looked at Mark Fotheringham's CV?

He is 31, done nothing special and has had more clubs than Darren Clarke and Tiger Woods put together!
Why in the name of goodness should we be interested in him? I thought we were in favour of youth or maybe experience with a decent pedigree?

ceeXXX - Neymar, Rooney and Van Persie oh yes and Robben - they'll do fine!!

You go and have a look at his CV and try to tell me he is the best we can do - There will be plenty of others to look at, before we start to line up 31 year olds, going on 32. There are enough old farts at Ibrox already, who have NOT been up to the job

I think Magath is a very good judge of players and I remember the last time a Motherwell player and a German manger linked up it defined Paul Lambert's career Hitzfield saw somthing in him at the Dortmund v M'Well Euro games.

So I will be happy with the choices a highly regarded German coach decides upon, if it is the case we are to have Magath.

What he did at Wolfsburg was on a par with Mourinho at Porto he really knows a player and gets the best out of them, tbh I would actually be happy with him as coach, though I think it is definate the either McInnes or MColl will be the next Rangers manager

I find myself totally in agreement with I am george here regarding felix magath, he did brilliantly at bayern munich, wolfsburg & stuttgart etc, I think hamburg as well if my memory serves me correct, what he built at these clubs was stunning ie.building a world class structure at their youth academy's which in turn brought through class young players, I would prefer magath as our technical director at rangers instead of manager which would allow him to build a class structure at mp, my choice of manager was always billy davies but I honestly now don't think he'll get it for various reasons, with magath as our technical director overseeing everything at our mp academy I would love to see ian cathro appointed as the rangers new head coach/manager to work alongside magath, I think this would be a brilliant partnership & most definitely the way forward for the famous glasgow rangers!

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Feb 2015 08:55:43
I find myself also in agreement with jr lolol

I actually believe you are spot on with cathro as manager BUT remembering what happened to Paul Le Guen, who was a BRILLIANT coach, but wanted us to train more often and change the Scots diet and Wee Barry threw a hissy fit and basically destroyed any chance Le Guen had of controlling the dressing room. I feel Cathro would also want European model in place, food, training etc etc

This could cause a problem the same way.

Would love to think our squad would be intelligent enough to comply but doubt it

Voting up till 4th March so still a wee bit to come in but Team Rangers are already on 51% totaling the King, 3Bears and Rangers FANS share percentages so it is a foregone conclusion. I said 55% a few weeks back I would go as far as 60% now.

Never mind, Celtic are out of Europe and we won't have to listen to them banging on about the Europa League anymore. We can now focus on rebuilding our great club and being in Europe ourselves again soon.

DOIGER

I was not really interested other than for ONE reason I genuinely didn't want them humped.

Reasonimg?

If celtic are humped out of Europe it means that Scottish football IS slumping to the Ireland level. I do not believe that to be the case as I honestly think Scottish kids coming though the coaching systems of Murray Park, celtic, aberdeen, Hibs and Dundee Utd especially are reaching the technical abilities required in modern football.

I also look at the fact we have one mountain to climb to catch celtic and aberdeen plus dundee utd, I do not want us to then be so far behind in Europe that we do not qualify for the Champions League for many years to come.

celtics' performances in Europe have shown that whilst they will not ever get further than last 8 of Champions League they will more than likely be in Europe EVERY season until after Xmas. That for me is what kept me happy as a Rangers fan when we did that, if we achieved the success a Scottish team can hope for to reach last 16 or 8 in Europe keeping excitement till Feb/March with the SPFL excitment going to the last few games or even last game of the season what more can you ask for as a fan. With the occasional Euro Run to late stages once every decade or so for the Old Firm.

So whilst I hate celtic as I always have they are for me a barometer of where we stand in Eurpean terms and you can't say they did badly going out to a top 5 country team in a close 2 leg affair is performing very well. We all know that Rangers and celtic runs to the 2004 and 2008 Euro Finals relied on a year where everything went their way luck wise (Ross McCormack late away goal in Greece an example Larsson's in Portugal too, celtic could have won tonight with luck that means we can too in the future, we have to be happy at this fact.

I hope that next week we see the start of a regime change that through youth and scouting europe as tims do will see us back to the top in SPFL and into Europe soon.

22 fouls, 6 yellow and one red card. just shows European referees won't tolerate what Celtic routinely get away with week out week in in Scotland. and I was delighted to see them humped. so no "small minded, what about the co-efficient?" for me.we are probably just above Irish league level, barely comparable with Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary but way behind Portugal, Belgium, Greece, Austria. and every team in our big league apart from Celtic would struggle to get out of League 1 in England. It's where we are, and it's not only down to Rangers and Celtic's historic failures in Europe. Hibs, Hearts, Motherwell. Aberdeen have all been dismal in Europe. honourable exception was St Johnstone. It's a long way up.

What's all this? Are we all now required to be so politically correct and squeaky clean because of the sectarian issues that we can't now state our hatred or dislike of Celtic? I 100% support the move to get rid of sectarian chanting in public but I've hated Celtic for the last 53 years and ain't going to stop now. It is the goody-two-shoes, PC left who have ruined this country already. And just to point out that those who put Celtic on a moral pedestal, they've had 8 UEFA charges for fans' issues in the last 8 years. Rant over and a week to go until the EGM! Let's beat Falkirk tonight and at least ensure we finish 2nd.

{Ed039's Note - I would like them to merge but the problem is too many want to be "the man" and that obstacle is the difference between one and many)

26 Feb 2015 19:49:43
It is people power that got them the shares, so if their members are of a mind to merge then I suppose a merger would be on the cards.

Would not like to see them both get very strong before a merger is muted as I can imagine the infighting if they both became major shareholders.

Hooly78 it would be for the better if the different groups could work together, it might take a while yet though, but if they had somebody between them just to remind them of our woes over the last few years, then surely they could come to a compromise, and move forward.

After EGM victory I think King and his team will come up with suggestions on Fan unity and an organised way to do it. I am sure they are well aware that fans have actually brought us to this stage to enable King to win the EGM and I do not think this will be lost on him

I hope they actually appoint ONE organisation and they have an elected, by the fans, rep on the new board that actually voices the feelings of the most important people in Ibrox. us FANS

I also hope 3Bears have at least one seat on new board also.

It may seem hopeful but I would also like King to reach out to Sarver to see what it would take to have him on board investment wise and stateside youth links couldn't do us any harm. Our American players were a credit to the team esp Reyna, Bocanegrs and DeMarcus Beasly. Vast market and huge talent pool of youth players

Just found out that Dougie Freedman is a Glaswegian, and played in England for Barnet then Crystal Palace before a score of midlands clubs. He actually played and scored for Scotland in the 90s against Latvia!

All this talk about him coming was first mentioned by that rag, The 'Scottish' Sun - would not even buy this paper if I had run out of toilet paper!

Remember, we will NOT be looking at or signing any new manager until King & Co have come in and done a complete audit of all 'assets' including fixtures and fittings.

After March 6th, however, there will then be a media frenzy speculating on all aspects of Rangers ie finances; directors; coaching; players; staff; scouts; maintenance; Greene(?); Whyte(?); SDM(?); HMRC(?); Fit & Proper(?) and oh, a new manager and his assistants.

In saying all that, I am so excited and so full of trepidation. When King stands on that step outside Ibrox I imagine that it will be like winning the pools; getting married; seeing my sons for the first time - all rolled into one.

There is a wee spot in Europe.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

26 Feb 2015 09:47:30
A theory.

Imagine when the Rangers holding company went into liquidation, and the sharks moved in. Certain predators, Green and Ashley, saw a grieving fan-base which could be milked for money.

So they manipulated and bought the assets, perhaps ahead of those who might lay a more rightful legitimate claim on them. We will probably never know what happened there.

The hostile atmosphere at the time around Rangers being allowed back into the SPL created a siege mentality, which Green played very well into a battle cry for the first IPO. McCoist was called in to rally the soldiers. Behind the scenes, the money from the IPO was divvied up and siphoned off into onerous contracts, which were made legally bombproof in preparation for the second phase.

Once the money was all spent, it was necessary to keep Rangers alive on a drip feed, and to make sure we got to the cusp of promotion to the Premiership again. The original plan was probably to turn Green into the arch-villain that all the fans wanted shifted, but for some reason his bottle crashed. Ashley had to come out of the shadows and assume that mantle.

So he continued to keep the company alive but still beholden to him, by drip feeding it loans, enough to keep the doors from closing, but not enough to run a decent team or stadium. The Ashley plan was to do another share issue just as we were about to go into the top flight, so we would all feel compelled to buy into the dream, and it would be money all round mark 2. But the SFA rejected it along with his plan to increase ownership.

If there was to be another lucrative IPO, the fans would have to be manipulated again. This entailed constructing another villain-hero narrative, which has always worked in the past with the Rangers support. King and the 3B were to be the saviours, and Ashley the villain. King was to unadvisedly let rip in press interviews about the rogue Ashley was this pantomime villain who the fans had to help to shift.

The press were to be given an exciting face-off storyline which they could run with for weeks. The Daily Record were to be banned from Ibrox, thus increasing the tension. The fans had to believe in a real villain who was out to do them in, postponing EGMs and banning ex-players - and, more importantly, a real hero who was the only hope of salvation, who would battle the evil and overcome them and win the trust of the fans.

The plan was to let them imagine they have achieved a victory at the EGM. The evil Ashley and his boardroom stooges have been vanquished. King is the man we can trust.

The upshot of this adulation is that the IPO makes double what it would have under Ashley alone. You can be sure Ashley has a contractual finger or two in the next IPO pie.

It's all business. King doesn't hate Ashley, Ashley doesn't care about Rangers. They are all stitching the fanbase up again to rake in another 20 or 30 million, but another couple of years of season books riding high on the success of defeating the stooges.

It's a theory. Who knows. For those who think it's a simple case of good vs evil, those people are going to be sadly disappointed.

Very few big concerns get on without levels of shadiness or corruption.after years of listening to how other teams fans have acted whilst we whinged about our fate, real Rangers fans will have a hold on our club, and maybe a seat on the board. I have followed Rangers since 1965, and lived through both 9 in a rows, Barcelona, Easter Road 1975 and 2005, Marseille 1993, Rugby Park 2011 et al. this is probably a more seminal moment in time than any of them. we have to believe!

Royal, we are a laughing stock for always believing the next "off the radar" spiv that comes along.

Now when the next one is already a convicted crim and along with one of the others was on the board when the last one collapsed - to still hope under these circumstances is insane.

To promise certainty where there is none, as some people do here, is not only bad but frankly evil.

If you don't want to read my opinion, don't. You can always join the line of folk on here.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Feb 2015 16:08:59
Dis?

In my humble opinion, it is always easier to see the bad side of folk and put them down, particularly if they are successful, but evil - come on.

But me and my evil ways, well I like to think that we are here on this earth to do good, be positive and help each other. We all like to belong, hence this forum, which helps gives us Rangers Fans an idea of how the club is managing and being managed. If we thought that every Tom, Dick or Harry who came along was evil, with evil intent then we would all have bought shares and formed groups a long time ago. It is the good in people that has brought us all together; it is the good in people that is trying to save the club - if that is evil then I think it is in your mind.

I would suggest a chill pill than have a rethink on your outlook in life, especially the evil part.
