Dave1980 he's affordable he would b cheap to buy and wages and scores in the league we will be in next year with better players round him and the chances we create he would score more. do u have any players in mind tht would do the business and we can afford.

26 Dec 2015 22:12:01
We will be buying not one single player. Maybe we will sign an out of contract deal with someone, the rest will be loan deals.

26 Dec 2015 22:34:46
Bigcog-123,you have a decent shout there regarding liam boyce as he's a very capable striker with a physical presence but my good friend you're wasting your time in trying to get through to davie 1980,I think if we mentioned messi or ronaldo on here for rangers he would find something negative to say about that.

now all joking aside, I do think boyce and any other scottish based players that are doing the business in the league currently above us have to be looked at as warburton can develop them into even better players with a decent sell on value as this is undoubtedly the way to go as there's no money in scottish football in general, good young players between the age of around 18-25 have to be looked at by us if they are decent at all.

long gone are the days when real big name quality players come to scotland to ply their trades and the quicker negative posters regarding rangers realise this the better!

27 Dec 2015 10:48:22
Warburtonfiftenth, you may slate me but wheres your ambition. do u think boyce can do it in europe or propel 7s to top spl. let me tell u. no. I've watched him many times and he blows hot an cold. yes he may have got a hat trick there but overall he ain't that good that's why county got him for nothing i think. he may be good as squad player at best. i think your ambition has fallen from grace when we did.

we are RANGERS. most successful team in the world don't let our standards or ambitions drop just to be mid table team cause with players like him an jackson irvine i think u mentioned before that's all we would be. when we go up we need to be competing for the league. nothing else will do.

27 Dec 2015 13:53:17
Billy be according to stewart Robinson m. w. will have money to spend in the up and coming transfer window, ed I don't know if this post will appear twice, as every time I nip on to another site I have to log in again this has been happening for months mate, though I me not sure if the problems my side or yours as my problems seems to have started since I moved the Reuter into another room.

27 Dec 2015 18:43:01
Davie 1980,I'm not having a dig at you mate but we do need to trust warburton and weir in the transfer market and our new chief scout frank mcparland who can find gems for warbs to develop which he's terrific at, I can assure you mate my standards and what my expectations of rangers are have and never will drop, I've been everywhere supporting glasgow rangers the team I love for the best part of almost 40 years now.

I'm only being realistic about the class of players we are now able to attract to scottish football as there's no money in the game up here, just look at celtic the standard of player they're signing has also dropped significantly because of the same problem.

26 Dec 2015 17:41:00
Wht do use think of liam boyce from ross county good goal record bagged a few goals in the spl this season and is only 24 over 6 foot pretty strong get rid of clark and play him up top with waghorn.

26 Dec 2015 19:11:25
He's a mad tim. But would be ideal for us if you can look beyond that. Excellent in the air which is something we need to address I feel with all these corners we win coming to nothing. I'd take him.

26 Dec 2015 20:52:53
Watched him good few times. good player but we need better than him to compete at the top.

27 Dec 2015 07:57:23
Good shout and a player that appears to be capable of scoring in the SPL but he will cost money and I don't have any belief that King will spend anything on players. If he is to spend money then his first acquisition should be a quality defensive midfield player / holding midfield player and a quality centre back. They need to be solid and one of them needs to be capable of leading the team since right now we do not have a leader on the park and our team is full of youngsters that are easily intimidated by a number of lesser quality players that are not frightened to 'get stuck in' on the park.
Oh for a Souness, Hurluck, Roberts or Greig!

27 Dec 2015 08:30:17
I always thought curran looked the better of the 2 but they do suit a striker pairing something we won't give them.

27 Dec 2015 09:40:58
TOM42, we do need an experienced midfielder with a bit of dig and I hope the stories are true and we bring in kevin nolan although I do know he's more of an attacking, goalscoring midfielder but he has a bit if muscle about him, regarding an out and out no nonsense robust centre half I from what I've seen in the lower leagues of english football.

would love us to sign millwall centre half mark beevers who was once likened to the same style of the former arsenal legendary centre half martin keown, if he's anywhere near in style to him then we must try and sign beevers, keown was a very strong, old fashioned, very rugged centre half who anybody would love in their team, very imposing and intimidating! Keown was a terrific centre half!

26 Dec 2015 14:13:50
What we need are a couple of 25 or 26 year olds and maybe a 28-30.

26 Dec 2015 16:37:44
Scotjo, we need two or three GOOD players in regardless of there age, the rooneys of this world were good noticible player at the age of 16 so what has age really got do do with it? If there good enough there old enough in my eyes, using Rooney as an example imagine Everton waited until he was 26 or 28 before they fielded him whew.

26 Dec 2015 18:22:04
I just feel players a few more years older and good will be more beneficial as the season goes on.

26 Dec 2015 18:33:42
Yes one or two but must be good players who can improve the team and also have to be fit enough to play.

26 Dec 2015 19:41:43
Rooney had guys with bags of experience around him when he debuted at 16. I agree if U are old enough you are good enough but there's plenty in that category getting their chance right now and I am crying out for a bit of experience.

I've said someone should boss the middle of the park. Eustace would have done that job and to be fair warbs tried with that one. Every faith in the January sales. The manager has stated he will ad steel and experience which IMO we need plus looking forward to the big Latvian scoring for fun.

26 Dec 2015 20:48:21
Jayc I agree with your post even said myself on here a few days ago m. w. gave eustence every chance, the youngish players at our club will learn from there experience I just don't think age is a thing with a footballer it's just a number after all it's not age or experience that win games it's good footballers.

26 Dec 2015 20:55:33
Jay you mentioned Man Utd well what about the team of youngsters that won just about all in front of them? Was sir alex wrong to field a team of youngster with little experience round about them the ryan Giggs, and David Beckams of the Man Utd team the players like scholes etc.

26 Dec 2015 21:36:24
Never mentioned Man U but If u wanna go down that road, Alex Ferguson took a massive gamble with all those youngsters just like warbs but let's have it right, when Neville, beckham, butt, giggs, Keith Gillespie etc broke thru, that squad had schmeichal, Dennis irwin, pallister, Parker, ince, Robson, cantona, McClain etc all there at the time. These seasoned pros helped these boys along and they ended up world class.

26 Dec 2015 23:02:42
Jay, Man Utd won more with just young guys on the park, than there was older players on the park, though I agree sir alex took a big gamble it certainly payed of.

of these seasonal pros you mentioned was schmiceal the only one that played in that final, captained them for his last game if my memory serves me well.

27 Dec 2015 08:02:56
The difference was that the young boys that Manchester United has were sheer quality and the older players were of a quality that none of the players in the Rangers squad, (except perhaps Zetalem) , are likely to reach and they generally had one or two old heads helping them.

Guys like Butt and Scholes were also as hard as nails as was Roy Kean. Our young players are scared to tackle and are outmuscled by teams that shouldn't be on the same park as us.

We need a holding midfield player / defensive midfield player and a quality striker but above all we need leadership on the park and for me it would be worth spending the money to get the right player for that role, irrespective of age.

27 Dec 2015 17:39:21
Tom42 that's exactly the three positions we need players for IMO, plus with steward Robinson stating today the the gaffer will have money to spend I think m.w. will bring in the right players, plus I think the trialists will be signed and played before season is over, I've got to admit this no game at the weekend cracks me up, I've never looked forward to getting up on Monday morning so much in my whole life, what do yours think lads? It's a long weekend with no game on eh.

26 Dec 2015 15:18:17
Why Did we let Kane Hemmings go? I always thought we should of kept him and should try and sign him now.

26 Dec 2015 16:25:28
He was/is a good player but was almost always injured when he was with us, that's probably why we let him go.

26 Dec 2015 18:31:58
He did seem to get injured but he looks fine at the moment so worth a punt.

27 Dec 2015 08:31:06
He only played like twice in his last year of contract because of injuries. we cantn blame mcoist for this one lol.

26 Dec 2015 09:57:32
Morning Bears and a very Merry Christmas to everyone. Let's get this Hibs thing in perspective and put aside our stuttering recent form. Their last four league games have been a 2-1 win over Livingston, 1-0 win over Alloa, 1-1 draw with Falkirk and 1-0 win over QOS. Hardly thrashing the opposition! They had a 90th minute equaliser against Falkirk and a 90th minute winner against QOS. Sandwiched between our poor results against Morton, Falkirk and Livingston we had three 4-0 wins. We must score early on against Hibs and force them to open up to score. This tippy-tappy football around the box must transform into shots at goal which is why Law and Shiels must, in my opinion, start the game. Looking forward to Monday!

26 Dec 2015 13:01:51
They still have a better recent record than we do and in 6 games they managed to claw back the 8 points. Agree there not that great however neither are we. Should be a cracking game that could go either way.

26 Dec 2015 14:06:53
You make very good points doiger!

26 Dec 2015 16:55:49
Biffo it was more the fact that we dropped points that's got them up level no, as regards Monday if hives play an open game we will horse them, if they play as others have (10 men behind the ball ) we will beat the by 2 or 3 goals IMHO.

26 Dec 2015 17:37:19
Billybluenose

How do you work that out? Hibs still had to win the games no matter how we performed. Hibs played an open and attacking game last time they came to Ibrox and didn't get horsed. Think they will come out and play on Monday and game could go either way.

26 Dec 2015 19:16:00
Biffo it would not had mattered had hibs won there games, it was us dropping points that allowed the catch up, no.

27 Dec 2015 00:23:18
No it was a combination of them winning games and is drawing and losing.

26 Dec 2015 08:26:12
Merry Christmas bears. I see Stubbs is at it again. Like many from the dark side ( not talkin about the new Star Wars film) he's obsessed with us. Whilst havin another pop at MW he's tryin to butter up us fans "deep down they're good fans, they're not as bad as people say" which is actually a thinly veiled insult. You've got to laugh at the guy, he's a comedian, trying to cover up his fear of his own teams inadequacies. :-)

26 Dec 2015 09:26:26
Smrfc
I agree with every word you have said. The guy has once again made an arse of himself insulting both the fans and MW. Silly really because I know if I was playing against them on Monday I would be killing myself to make sure we absolutely annihilate them. I hope the players feel exactly the same. I'd love to see a 5 or 6 goal win. Tell you what, it just could happen (ref 6-2)

26 Dec 2015 09:46:44
Why do so many fans on here let Stubbs wind them up? Who cares what he says? His comments don't matter. We should be worrying about our own team rather than comment about him.

26 Dec 2015 11:58:02
The guy doesn't wind me up at all, just gives me a good laugh :-)

26 Dec 2015 14:08:00
Biffo.
I agree but can't really see what he hopes to achieve. 50000 bears screaming for blood and the team fired up - we really couldn't have asked for better. Even if we fail it will also help for the January winfow in the way it would let MW who he can rely on when the chips are down.

26 Dec 2015 15:22:00
The seeker

Think it's clear he has got under the skin of Warburton and also a few of the fans. Don't think it's had an impact on the recent results either. Warburton has badly under estimated the league and the problem with having a small squad is when certain players struggle there is no one to bring in to replace them.

26 Dec 2015 17:00:46
The seeker I can also see the extra couple of days our players have had playing a big part as we are needing at least 3 players in next window, though we don't really know the strength of players currently on trial as I me sure we will see some of the trialists play before the season is over, just to rotate and rest some of our current team.

26 Dec 2015 18:03:00
Aye Billy.
MW says the squad is lean. He has to address this and shake it up imo.

26 Dec 2015 18:44:09
For me the alleged slump is a timely reminder that we do need to strengthen the squad. Glad it happened when it did, otherwise we might have cantered on oblivious to our shortcomings without signing anyone and then hit a sticky patch in February!

26 Dec 2015 21:05:22
Smrfc could Stubbs be trying to upset the apple cart hoping it maybe stand him in good stead for the managers job at the east end club? I wonder eh, either way he would be worse than they now have over there, lol.
