i hope we go out on wed and give every last ounce of fight we have left the last 6 games we have been rotten but this is the chance to get the title race back in our favour before the window opens.
i think we need to go 4-4-2

Mcgregor

Whittaker Bartly Boca Papac

Mackay Mculloch Davis Wallace

Jelavic Aluko

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Wheres Wylde? and Mackay not played for a while so hes probably not match fit and I hope to see Sir Davie Weir back

Agree2 Disagree1

Hey fellow bears, billy from australia here. i think we are forgetting a few things. Matt McKay has played less than 3 full games, how can we judge him on that. Why have a squad of 25 if only 15 or 16 usuals are getting a run. How about a starting line up of McGregor, Ortiz, Bartley, Bocanegra, Papac, Aluko, Davis, McKay, Wallace, Lafferty, Jelavic. Its time s**ttaker got a spell on the bench because he has been rotten for too long. Ortiz is a rb from way back, and his performances were okay when we were winning well earlier in season. Cant work out why ally is paying wages to Healy, Kerkar, Hutton, Ness, Weir, Broadfoot, Fleck etc, when he has no intention of playing them. Surely that cash could be spent on better players, or new faces at least. We have good youth, but persevere with out of form players, and its not good enough. Matt McKay has been stuffed around, and should be given as many games to prove himself as Edu, McCulloch, Davis, s**ttaker, Wylde etc. Why does Bendiksen, Ness, Hutton, Fleck never get a run of games to prove themselves. I love Rangers and Ally, and hope we smash the manky mhob, but i am very outspoken on some team issues. Surely Stevie Wonder could even tell that Steven s**ttaker is badly out of form and needs to be dropped.

Agree1 Disagree0

You hope to see davie weir back, what about perry hed handle hooper and co a lot better dam my 4 yr old could turn davie weir , a great servant but come on get a grip

Agree1 Disagree1

Davie weir should be retired instead of leeching off the gers.

Agree3 Disagree4

Where did it say davie weir should be playing. It says why pay them wages, when they are not playing, put the money to better use. Never did it say play Weir or Broadfoot etc. I believe Healy has been hard done by. You cannot score goals when you get 4 minutes a month. Kerkar is a waste of space, but then again he has not seen the pitch. We have been in dreadful form, but the same core of players are selected every week.

not a rumour just a gripe, on this site, everyone seems to know about whyte and his business and the tax case etc etc, why dont we all just support the club we love and wait and see what happens. no one knows anything for facts. so take each game as it comes, come january we will see where we are at, hopefully the tax case goes in our favour, if not then we support the club and help them become a force again. instead of all the speculation and no it alls talking rubbish.

The game against St Mirren was waiting to happen for weeks. We rode our luck as much as we could. McCoist is the man to blame for this as soon as you line up with Edu, McCulloch and Whittaker then your asking for trouble.

We will get humped against Celtic. I dont understand McCoist and his old favourites. Team for Wednesday for me personally would be
McGregor
McMillan Bartley Bocanegra Wallace
Bendiksen Davis McKay Wylde
Lafferty Jelavic

McCoist has to go for it attacks the best form or attack esp in this case!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Agree, can't see anything other than 3 points for the mhanks though...

Agree1 Disagree1

I guess it doesn't matter what we would like the team to be, because we know for sure that McCulloch will play and Ally will go for the Defence thats what he knows. If he does that and doesn't put pace in our side, ie Wylde and Aluko then he will reap what he sows.

Still a point clear 4 if we beat them for f*** sake boys keep believing. we're rotten i know but sellic are no great shakes....K

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I agree, Celtic are no great shakes, 8 wins in a row, Hearts missed a penalty in the last minute, Dunfermline where all over them last 15 minutes, Kilmarnock where unlucky not to take a point on saturday - Remember Celtic are past masters at thinking they have things won before they have.

Pete

Agree3 Disagree1

Re Pete ...Kilmarnock had one shot at goal ..deserved a point ."....Dunfermline were all over us the last 15 mins duuuh did u c the game ...Hearts had a last min pen did they score?? ....think u should analyse your own shortcomings like the ICT game before u spout carp like that..".DH

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes i agree celtic where poor against hearts . Dunfermline celtic could have been 8-0 up by half time. Kilmarnock where not even in the game until the last 10 minutes again celtic could have been about 3 or 4 nil up by half time.

Agree1 Disagree0

If your happy that your team are tremendous and have not rode their luck on that 8 game run then good for you, your not fooling me.

Pete

Agree0 Disagree0

I just went and watched the highlights of the Kilmarnock match again , I counted 2 chances in the first half for Killie, and 3 in the second - after killie scored wanyama had to clear a shot away after that big clown forester took out the killie player, so it could so easily have been 2-2 take off the green tints chaps- after watching those highlights, my opinion that your no great shakes has been enhanced

Pete

Agree1 Disagree0

Nobody said our team were "tremendous" all I'm saying we've cut the league down to one point and one goal so yes I'm happy with my team and the only one "who's fooling no one " is probably yourself ......DH

Agree2 Disagree0

Does it matter what the highlights show, the record books show 8 wins in a row. While you's have dropped 8 points in the last 8 games, oh and you've lost your 15 point lead! You really should be worried!

I am sick of all this nonsense of going down south to pick up players, what about the young lad ryan donnelly at airdrie, his scoring record is very good in a poor team, lets give the scottish youngsters a chance, for me he wouldnt cost the earth and is still young enough that if he does well we could get a no bad profit from him.
I dont care that he is a celtic fan as long as he was gonna score goals.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Says alot when Airdrie has a better youth policy! What happened to the Murray park conveyor belt?

Agree1 Disagree0

It does not matter what young lad we sign ally won't play him more than once then fires him back to the reserves no matter if he had a good game or not

craig whyte is a ruthless individual who would not hesitate for one minute about axing mccoist if things get much worse. i personally think that with this current squad of players, allys job is in grave danger. we have no players with any consistancy or any real fight and against any team in the spl we go a goal down i cant see us coming back and winning. the team is one dimensional but this is nothing new to fellow bluenoses. i dream for the day i can take my wee boy to ibrox and bloody well enjoy the football on display!!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Did ye forget we were 2-1 down at half time with them in the last old firm game we still came out in ye second half an tore them a new one, I'm sick ov everyone getting tore into Coisty, fair enough some of the signings haven't been great but he was hampered by the amount of cash he had to spend, he can only pick the players he has at his disposal lets all just get behind the bloody team and get right into these pretenders who think they deserve to win the league

Cf3

Well said Cf3 - but Ally needs to do what he did at Ibrox, forget McCulloch and attack them.

Will big lee be avalible to play on wed now we have appealed the red card? its just i got told that because of the fast track system it will be heard tommorrow before the celtic game can anyone shed light on this whats the facts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It says on the Rangers website that he can play on Wednesday and on Monday against Motherwell because the hearing inst until January 5th

Pete

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2011 17:57:18
Just want to give my opinion on what the team should be on Wednesday.

Although this is a poor Celtic team, they still play decent football and like to keep the ball. Therefore we have to drown them out in the centre of midfield to stop Kayal & Ki dictating the game.

I would go 4-5-1 and keep the 3 central midfielders as tight and narrow as possible to suffocate them in the middle.

My team would be:

McGregor

Whittaker Bartley Bocanegra Papac

Lafferty Davis McCulloch Edu Wallace

Jelavic

Although I don't usually like seeing Edu & McCulloch in the same team, they only ever play together in a 4-4-2 with Davis shifted to the right. Whereas with this formation I feel they could play together as a 3 with Davis & Edu doing the donkey work and McCulloch sitting deeper.

Lafferty & Wallace will provide width when going forward, but crucially they will work back & help out Whittaker & Papac.

I feel this is the team that has the best chance of coming away with a positive result.

Any opinions?

Steven.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Please stop saying 4-5-1 Jelavic cant play up front on his own

we may as well go all out attack on wednesday as if we dont we wont have a hope anyway. If we play defensive as we did on saturday it could be five or six.
attack is the best form of defence.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

No rumour just my opinion of who i'd like to see gone and what i hope we'd realistically get for them......

Out: Mculloch- £200k, Edu - £1.5m, Weir - Release, Broadfoot - £300k, Healy £200k, Ortiz £300k, Whittaker £2.5m, Lafferty - £2m, Kerkar - Release.

Like the tims like to remind us we are skint so think this would free up a lot of wages and would bring in a few million to help run the club and bring in a few replacements.

I'd like to see guys like Mcmillan, Perry, Little, Cole, Hutton and Bendicksen utilised. Can't be any worse than a lot of the guff we have now.

Personally i'd like to wait until after the euros to sell Jela but a good deal could be a sale or swap with west brom for Dorrans and Morrison?

Few good options we could bring in without breaking the bank...

Scott Allan, D Templeton, Cuellar?, Boyd, Riordan, Driver.

Wouldn't mind some constructive thoughts for once rather than the usual guff people come out with. This isn't fact just my opinion.

I get the impression that some players are using us as a source to get a good wage they don't care for the club as we do.
Granted there are some true blues but they can't do it much as they try.
Ally's biggest job is to get the half hearted players to care for Rangers as much as he does and we do.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I does not matter if the so called half hearted players started to give more effort, if you are not good enough your not good enough . I believe this is the case with a good few of the players we have. it does not help either we ally plays players out of position .

terry butcher
Richard gough
john brown
ally mccoist
Mark Hateley

oh i forgot and steve davis.......NOT

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Naismith is a massive part of the team, he balances everything out and works so hard. He plays for the jersey and attacks well and also defends well, we've missed him immensely, simples. Also wonder if only 30 thousand fans will turn up to Parkhead now that Rangers have thrown away the gap? Only support their club when winning, sad ''people''.

McCoist has to address the the lack of leadership and start this by playing sir david of weir and giving him the armband.

Play on Wed:

McGregor

Whitts Bartley Weir Bocca Papac

Wylde Edu Davis Wallace

Lafferty

I would drop Jelavic as he has not been interested and also feel lafferty leads the line better alone as he is more mobile and chases etc.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

As a Celtic fan i wud be delighted to see weir start on wed. Hes 41 and hasn't played in wot?.....3 months? He'll get torn to shreds. Btw i do think weir has been a good servant to Rangers but his time has come and gone.

Agree4 Disagree0

David weir is an oap. he should not have been here for 5 years its a joke we cant get rid of him now cos hes leeching on for dear life. to have a 41 year old slow limited skilled defender as the captain of rangers was a complete embarrasing joke.
he should get his bus pass, his werthers originals, his steradent, his tena pads, his warm jacket and his tartan blanket and f..k off back to cheshire.

he would stay till he was 50 if we kept on offering him 1 year deals

Agree2 Disagree5

Has he ever let the team down ?

Pete

Agree2 Disagree2

Yes, he has last year in the game at parkhead when we lost 3 - 0, hooper took him to the cleaners that day.

Agree3 Disagree3

Plenty of times he is too slow and too old.

Agree1 Disagree1

I would have put that down to the skill showed by Hooper, and not as a mistake by the defender, and I bet you couldn't name a defender that could have coped with that touch, your actually belittling your own player suggesting that a younger defender could have stopped him, Weir showed in the League Cup Final that he can cope with your lot mate, and I have no doubts if pitched in against you on Wednesday that he puts in a better performace than anything you have in your defence,

A few wee points to make. Some are saying if we attack Celtic we can win, I don't disagree with that but we could hardly manage an attack over the past months against the smaller clubs in th SPL.
Maybe if we did we'd be doing a bit better.

I would love it if McCoist was our manager for years to come but no man is bigger than the club and second in importance is the fans who are being let down and short changed. Not because this is a blip or because we're skint.
The reason is we don't even try to play football. Which is bearable when winning but bloody awful when St Mirren pass Rangers off the park on the way to a 2-1 win.

Even in our finantial state we can atract better players and pay bigger wages than any other SPL team other than Celtic. Therefore even if we play open and expansive football, we should still win most games.

It might take time, but Johan Cruyf implimented their style of football all them years ago and now their team and youth system are second to none.

Ps, I know we'll not get success like barca but would be nice to watch the gers play good football.

Daily mirror is saying that Rangers have given an agent the rights to sell him for £10mil, and that this has given Warnock the QPR manager a massive boost. Rangers have issued a English based agent a mandate to sell. Both Sunderland and Liverpool are interested in the big Croatian. This looks like it is going to happen after all Bears, but who will be his replacement ? AndyPandy63. Source Daily Mirror Sport ( online) {Ed001's Note - you know the Mirror is the least reliable paper of all for transfer rumours. There was a site (I forget what it was called) which did a league table of them, the Mirror came bottom of the tabloids. The Guardian was the most reliable.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cheers ed, I'll no check oot that rag again. AndyPandy63 {Ed001's Note - the problem with the tabloids is that they just make stuff up to fill column inches. That was the original reasoning behind setting up the original website, not so much about spreading rumours I had heard, but for people to post what they had read in tabloids so it could be explained how wrong it was. These days even SSN make up lies, particularly on transfer deadline day, just to get people betting and phoning in to them. It is hard to find any reliable sources whatsoever, other than people involved.}

I think this is as strong as we've got Bears............ AndyPandy63

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I agree but would play bartley at cb as papac is not good there, plus with boca and papac at cb we would lack hight *ksd*,ps also i think ally will appeal mccullochs red so he might start in edu's place.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would probably go with this team to apart from whitty . I would replace him with mcmillian, as whitty is the worst right back we have had in years .

in saying that I think mr negative ally will play either weir or broadfoot or even both and lace the team with defensive minded players. I fear if he does this he will be playing right into celtics hands and ultimately cost us the game.

Agree1 Disagree0

You might not like this but this is how I think we will line up on Wednesday.
McGregor
Broadfoot, Bocanegra, Bartley, Wallace
McCulloch.
Whittaker, Davis, Edu, Papac.
Jelavic.

This is the team that can take the 3 points against Celtic.
WATP

Agree0 Disagree3

McCoist could field 22 players and we will still get humped on Wednesday.

The outing against St Mirren on Saturday was abysmal. Stevie Davis is not a Rangers captain, he is too weak and not vocal enough to lift the team during a match. There is a real lack of heart in this team at the moment and I blame McCoist. Not one player seems to want to play for him right now. His tactical decisions is what has cost Rangers the title. Why the Fleck did he take Lafferty off early in the second half only to bring on Kyle Bartley as a striker? What is he all about? His constant tinkering is proving costly.

I honestly can't see Rangers salvaging anything from the game at Parkhead. I would play Bendiksen and McMillan in place of Davis and Whittaker and just go for it, we are going to get humped anyway as Davis and Whittaker are the to biggest cowards I have seen in a Rangers jersey.

McGregor

McMillan Bartley Boca Papac

Bedoya Edu

Lafferty Bendiksen Wallace

Jelavic

Go for it McCoist. It's your fault we are heading for a 3rd place finish.

Call me highly critical if you like fellow bears but we are in dire straights!!!!

We are very poor right now, but the greatest team side ever in history are not exactly hammering teams, in case you noticed.

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry Tony, but I'm gonnie have to disagree, because I think that old firm experience is the only thing that will get us a result. The boys in your line up could freeze and that would be a nightmare against a weak runners up / chasers side ! We need guy's who want to put a foot in, a head in and run until they puke and know what it means to BEAT that mob ! You need to want it and be prepared to fight for it, thats why I think my team is stronger m8. I'll still be cheering on whoever plays and will ALWAYS expect to win, so good luck to the Glasgow Rangers and the........ AndyPandy63 Bring it on, BEARS

If mcoist were to leave i would want Terry Butcher.. I believe he is ready for the job..He would bring a never say die attitude to us which is missing,im actually thinking Ally has lost the dressing room.. wedensday night will tell us..WATP.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Terry Butcher!! Firstly I doubt he would take the job but if he did then I think he would be poor. Yes he would put fight in the bellies but he has no clue about tactics or players

David

Agree0 Disagree0

M8, Butcher has been ready for this job for a number of years, but I don't think he'll get it. I firmly believ that a replacement for Ally is already in the pipeline, whether that is January ( if we lose o/f game)or, in the summer and after the hmrc case is dead and buried. AndyPandy63............ Merry Xmas Bears everywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuart McCall would be the obvious replacement for McCoist

Agree0 Disagree0

I am disgusted bye any so called Rangers fan, talking about who will be the next Rangers boss. When super Ally has not even had a season in charge yet. Please do not talk about such a subject,in from off any Celtic supporting pals. The season still has pleny of football to be played in it.The other teams are improving. And playing a attcking game, maybe we should as well?We dont need a new boss.We just need to try new systems. And hopefully bring new players in,not to many though.Look what happened to Lennon, when he had the big Jan clear out.He never won the league. From another Ally

Just listened to Craig Moore on Sky , a pretty honest appraisal of the team going into the old firm game.I hope we play well but I just don't see the players who can turn it on , our style of football is a real turn off and to be honest it has been like that with Mcleish , Smith and now McCoist, the occasional great performance but generally defensive dour stuff.I will be hoping we win but just dont feel confident with this one.

Ally says we are ready for Celtic why don't I believe him is it
We don't have a midfield or the performances of Whiticker Edo MCCULLOCH Or the lack of the vital pass to split a defence Maybe it's the team selection they seem the same two weeks on the trot
Having said all that it's an old firm game COME ON THE GERS GIVE THEM #####

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Ally has let himself down over the last few weeks,as a Celtic supporter I had him down as one of the good guys. The defending Sone (who dived, lied and cheated)was bad enough but to turn around and accuse the St Mirren player of making a meal of it was appaling(Thug has a look at the player and swings an elbow) Goian was stupidity on his part(Ally tries to blame the ref)for christs sake have a look at your own player he needs his a**e kicked for stupidity. The big talking point for me was how Laughable was not done for assault one of the worst challenges I have seen for a long time.

The old firm game is a one off and either team can win it,if Rangers do, it will only be papering over the cracks Ally is out of his depth and it is beginning to show(Bartley up front is a prime example of not having a clue)

You have a damn cheek Timothy ur beloved lennon has made a career out of moaning and blaming everything on ref's and the sfa and conspiracy theories, now that the sfa and ref's r scared to give anything against yaz it's us getting it in the neck, ps you's get more penaltys yhan any1 else in britain!!*ksd*

Agree3 Disagree3

You could'nt make it up, Timothy calling Super Ally a moaner. Just you worry about Hans klopek sorry I mean Neil lennon, Sammyonmaarse, and tell Hooper to keep his elbow's to himself.

This isnt a rumor more of an idea,if we sell jelavic for a good fee could we not try and tempt huddersfield with an offer for rhodes, also zigic at birmingham i feel would be an asset to the spl could we not try and make a move for him.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

There is no chance jelavic will go for more than 5m hes forms crap and out the 12 goals hes scored this season half of them were dodgy penaltys!

Agree4 Disagree3

Dodgy penalties I suppose a Celtic fan knows a lot about that eh?

Agree0 Disagree2

Rhodes isn't getting sold huddersfield have more money than us

Will Celtic players and fans ever learn !
Shouting from the roof tops that they are coming to claim the title , very short memories from the last 3 years .

The gers maybe struggling but it's the way we carry are self and we will win on Wednesday and all those Celtic fans can start talking how they were hard done by.

Give me a break !

Believable3 Unbelievable3

LOL,it was Rangers fane that were saying the league was done and dusted,so dont be surprised when you get it back, that said lots of twists and turns to come still anyones league. Ally however is starting to lose it and that may prove decisive

Morning fellow bears, merry christmas from Australia living in Perth but miss my GERS so much watch them every weekend on setanta,we need to stick together just now the other lot are loving this just now tax problems, poor team all there fat sally and now we are turning on him the legend that is super ally will know when the time is right if it isn't working we don't have to come on here and mc call this davis that give him a wee chance at least we owe him that for all the good times he has gave us through the years, needs to change style a bit i agree need to play mckay in midfield a very good disciplined player who could give davis more of a free role, edu mcculloch, broadfoot, whittaker the list goes on and on not good enough but that's where we are at with all that's going on lets get behind the BIG GLASGOW TEAM the most successful club side in the world and go to the midden on wed and turn them over they aren't great scrapping by killie, hearts and now big samarse is the main man lets go at them forget the tax forget mccall, davis butcher whoever we all say we want and remember no one loves doing celtic more than SUPER ALLY SUPER ALLY i'm sure we can all remember that just even for a little time more well i'm off to the beach boxing day 32degrees a nice cold beer but i'd rather be at the midden on wed night with all my bears but there are tons over here in Perth follow follow and all the best to my fellow bears

Well said big man we are the people

SUPER ALLY SUPER ALLY C'mon ally go right at them from the start defend from the front and have strong midfield

Agree2 Disagree5

Your dead right big man let's get into them ALL THE BEST BIG MAN

Agree2 Disagree2

Typical deluded poster ,missing the point. Ally is out of his depth and winning the old firm game would only paper over the facts, the whyte night is one step away from a con man and the tax man cometh things are not looking good but as you say Super Ally to the rescue(10 central defenders and Jelly man up front thats the beautiful game right enough)
