Rangers Fans a question? I know you are all outraged at the actions of one man, aka Craig White, but why do you think that it is wrong for the SFA to punish Rangers when it was clearly that man's fault, but you are happy for Rangers to sue the firm that one individual that has now left, for 25 to 30 million, when clearly they never did wrong doing but the man that left did?

further more, if you think the sanctions are hard but you admit you are guilty, what sanctions should have been imposed?

Don't you think it is wrong that you never paid for players signed?

and also don't you think it is wrong not to pay gate money for cup games owed to other teams in Scotland?

and we are the people is not an answer

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Duff and Phelps are pursuing Collyer Bristow for perceived losses after it was involved in brokering Whytes takeover of the Ibrox club not cause of one man.

Also whats a fair punishment, well i would say that since Neil lennon who has faced 5 sfa charges against him this season wont face any real sanctions nor should Rangers.

Seem's to be one rule for some and not others.

Agree1 Disagree2

Hey op, good post,

The not paying for players thing is bogus, all clubs pay by installments and we do the same. We've hit administration and so that's maybe put doubt into peoples minds as to whether final installments will be settled, I understand that doubt and nobody really knows how it will pan out. I've heard though that If the blue knights are successful, all footballing debts will be paid outwith a CVA agreement which I agree is the honorable thing to do. Do you think OP, that Rangers intentionally signed players knowing they wouldn't be able to pay for them and end up shafting other clubs? I don't, not for one second. For one thing, if we were that callous, we wouldn't have been haggling over all those players we wanted last summer, We'd have just signed them (or better) and laughed our erchies off. by the way, we are owed more than we owe regards player fees, seeing that money again is also doubtful.

Agree, Not paying the cup receipts is shocking. big mistake. I for one would like to apologies to all clubs adversely affected by my clubs situation. the majority of our support is angry, frustrated and feel massively let down by the way our club has been run and the negative impact it is going to have on Scottish football. This clearly is not what anyone, but the most deranged, wants and I hope it can be sorted. duccablue

Administration not paying clubs you owe money for transfers and stalling payments to clubs in the spl for ticket money is a bit different from criticising referees

one of yous posted this about ally......Too right we think he was correct in what he said as he is the only one who can speak for us fans and voice how we are all feeling.
No one is looking for any sympathy from the other clubs but we wont go without a fight so bring it on.
you say this but then go after us tims for our manager doing the samething, so once again your manager is aloud this and it is for the right reason yet ours is horrible for doing the samething? does that makes sence to yous?
on top of that our manager talks about refs and the game and how we feel hard done by IN THE GAME! ally was going after ppl doing there job which he know the names of the pannel, yet yous seem to ignore that fact. what will it take for yous to wake up? what he did was bring out hate and anger and yes it might be because he loves his club but when it comes to our managers yous say he is a disgrace to our club because he is out of control.
how about STOP bringing other clubs and thier ppl into everything and judging your punishment with others. this is your clubs mess which no other club was part of. can WE stop all the hate and saying your manager is worse then ours. you now know alot of info of whats going on yet you can find out even more with sdm. STOP threatening other ppl for just doing whats right and there job. you are not bigger then rules no matter how important you are to the league(and that goes for every club) your anger should be at your own ppl and NOT the ppl who are doing the right thing by just following the RULES that ALL clubs have to follow. look at the right ppl, the ones that got into this ie,sdm,ws,am,oglivy for you know where the problem started and during what era.

I knew a company, years ago though, who held back tax etc and the owner got jailed for it.

Nobody is suggesting the players of coaching staff or any groundskeepers caterers etc knew anything the responsibility lies with company directors who have a legal responsibility to the club. too many of whom were there for themselves and not the club. rangers supporters 'to take sanctions against other clubs' as they 'have kicked rangers when they are down'. Are you now the UN security council?

get real, rangers are being punished for financial doping, fair & square. rangers are lucky not to be demoted and stripped of titles. its a measure of how far the club have fallen that sandy jardine is a spokesman of sorts, talking misguided nonsense. no one is kicking rangers - rules are rules I'm afraid - ask Juventus.

also to try to distance rangers from the actions of the owners is ludicrous - unfortunately they are one and the same.

Jardine also moaning that the punishment makes them 'uncompetitive' come on - what did all that financial doping do to other teams when rangers were not playing by the rules?

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Firstly Rangers did not get this ban for the use of ebts, this ban was only based on the 9 months CW was in charge nothing before that.

Said it before on here and never got an answer but please someone tell me how have Rangers fc benefited from anything Whyte has done in his time in charge?

As for any term financial doping please again tell me what have Rangers been convicted of so far, NOTHING thats what.

If this tax case was as open and shut as the Celtic fans seem to think it is why has it taken over 3 months and counting for the panel to make up their minds on it?, maybe not as open and shut as some like to think.

Agree1 Disagree2

It'a all too mental for words now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Juve- lol. Another dopey dhim. Calciopoly was all about match-fixing you half-wit. Hence ample justification for stripping titles. Nothing will happen to Rangers on that score- believe you me. It's entirely obvious to anyone who can think for a moment with even an ounce of objectivity. Once Rangers get new owners all the other stuff will die. There is neither the will nor resource to trawl back a decade or more. Uefa have "left it to the national association" (rough translation- we can't be bothered), the sfa clearly haven't covered themselves in glory if there's anything in it (which I doubt). The appetite for all of this will really be starting to wane, everywhere bar the east end 1888 accountancy and legal experts union obviously. I wouldn't be too shocked to hear little more about this once Rangers are under new ownership.

Agree0 Disagree1

In answer to the poster 'How did Rangers benefit from Craig Whyte not paying tax' the answer is simple he used the money saved to tie up several players on improved contracts used it for day to day running of the club when it should have gone into admin as soon as Rangers were knocked out of Europe meaning losing a lot of players in the January transfer window.
The fact is the SFA have acted reasonably in this case, that's not to say I think the SFA needs complete overhaul to establish clear guidlines that everybody is aware of.

Here is a scenario that i've not seen brought up but what if we lose Mcgregor and Alexander in the summer and on the 1st day of next season the 3rd and 4th pick keepers get bad injuries and are out for the season.

Would we be forced into playing an outfield player in goals all season or even a 14-15 year old?

That's how ridiculous this ban could end up being, Rangers please, please walkout of the spl of this ban is not overturned. {Ed022's Note - And what happens I'd your whole team just falls over and dies all at the same time, due to a giant orgi with overly sized toys. This is going to kill our club... We need to know the names of these people who have killed our club.....ermm how about Murray and Whyte for starters Ally. I really can't work out what all the fuss is about the transfer embargo, there is no way that even with a CVA sorted that whatever is left of the club will be able to spend anything on players for the next year. Also the behaviour of some of the fans is only going to make the SFA unable to repeal any of the punishments for fear of being seen to be backing down. Also some of the posts I have seen recently not so many on this site mind you, make me ashamed to be a Rangers fan. This is 2012 not 1892. Let's be dignified in adversity.

Does anyone think that our supporters groups are the most toothless bunch, it really is no surprise that whyte has ripped the s**t, and has been given chance to do so. I remember that they met with Whyte before and after his takeover and were impressed by him.
When it became clear that he is a lying scumbag they met him and asked when accounts would be published
Why did they not demand answers to the real questions.

Funny on here how people keep on banging on about how much money Rangers owe other football clubs.

As of the begining of this month Rangers owed a total of £3.3 million.

However Rangers are owed £3.8 million from other football clubs.

This is how it works in football although it just doesn't suit some peoples arguement.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Aye but that does not count cause Rangers being owed more money from other clubs than we owe out does not sit well with the Celtic proganda machine.

I'm sure that Rangers are the only team in world football that has signed players and paid them up installments no other team has done this not even the sanctimonious Celtic (aye right).

When Celtic sign a player for £2-3m they pay it within 10 minutes of the transfer being done, don't they?

Be interesting to see a list of creditors for every other spl club and see just who owes what that might shut a few people up. {Ed022's Note - The glorious world of PayPal is where it's at!}

Is it not the case that many of Rangers debts are overdue, yet the money owed to Rangers isn't?

Got my two tickets delivered today for me and my son. Why did they arrive as they always do, in two envelopes.
I know this is small change but why spend another pound sending two tickets to the same address in envelopes. This may happen at every away game, how much in a year does this add up to?
I know this wouldn't change the mess we are in but it is a sign of a badly run business. I was in the ticket office last week and there must be twenty people there, what do these people do all day?
If the gate is 47000 and say away fans get 2000 and their are 37000 season tickets that leaves 8000 tickets to sell. Why does it take twenty people to sell 8000 tickets and most are sold online. I have no wish to see people lose their jobs but I remember when the ticket office was in a booth at the main door and had one member of staff, margaret, and on the run up to an old firm game, her husband came in part time.
Another sign of a waste of money.
How can a club that attracts 40000 to an old crocks game be broke, they really could sell bottled s**t if they put a crest on the bottle. I wish I could increase my revenue as easy as it is for Rangers, free publicity for anything that they want to sell.
You know if they had an open day with the players there, with photos, signings, they could probably make £500k in a day. And we are broke, it is unbelievable.

Why after all these years of ppl talking about playing in England. When will you understand that it will never happen, time and time again you have been to,d that, from England , from the SFA, from the fa, from uefa.
Please stop saying we can buy a club in England and work our way up, please understand NO WE CANT

Believable1 Unbelievable0

The chairman of the English football league was on Sky sports yesterday saying that the only way a Scottish club would be allowed to apply to enter the English league was if it came via the SFA. Somehow I don't think the SFA would be willing to let Rangers leave them in the lurch and saunter off to England.

Defo non starter.

Let's just get the club in safe hands, negotiate a way to pay our bills, start afresh and move on. Less talk of naming names, protests, boycotts etc.

Let's take our punishment and learn from it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually if you seen SSN today an English league official did leave the door open a bit on this issue. By no means was it a yes but not 100% no on the matter either.

Would be up to the SFA and English FA and if they agreed it could be a slight possibility.

Whatever happens lets hope Rangers resign from the spl and i would say that even if Roman abramovich bought us.

Let the spl sit and watch Celtic win the league year after year and see how boring it would become and how many sponsers a one horse race league would attract.

26 Apr 2012 20:57:06
Sick of hearing all the jungle jims saying we should stop moaning and take the SFA punishment as we deserve it having not paid for players for years? Wtf Wallace and thats about it.
We have had any chance of title taken away, our star player sold and our champions league football cancelled all as a result of being in Admin and on that basis we deserve our punishment as severe as it is.
But transfer ban due to craig Whyte not been fit and proper person is a Disgrace! There was a lengthy period of due diligence where Rangers and SFA were supposed to be checking history of proposed buyer, clearly both Gers and SFA were conned and now the Scott Broon has hit the fan rather than SFA admitting they too got duped if they said he Was fit and proper or admit they done F All checks we get punished retrospectively even though Administrators have distanced club from him it should be a case between Whyte and SFA.
Even if you disagree in these severe circumstances SFA could easily have given same punishment but suspended it for 2 seasons but then that would be helpful so no chance of that!

Rangers have spoken about leaving the SPL to play in England for a few years before the problems came out and have actively tried to do so. So why do they now say that the SPL needs them?? Could not make it up, Does anyone know how many times this guys been up before the sfa in his short time at Celtic 8-10 times?

I await the 12 month ban on Neil lennon signing players.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Lennon will get a slap on the wrist, told to sit in the stands and calm down...Why because his boss is on the board of the SFA, Lawwell will not allow the SFA/SPL or anyone else to handicap his manager to the detriment of his own team.

since this debacle began all we have seen from rangers, both club and fans is, in the main, aggressive, pompous, deluded nonsense. you are now blaming the sfa for 'allowing' craig whyte to take over. it was david murray and his board who did that. (even if he hadnt the position would be the same. murrays business is going down fast) the sfa played no part in those negotiations and if they had blocked it , you would still be outside hampden demanding billionaire whyte should take over.
the bbc were the first to raise the alarm. what was that met with ? calls to picket the bbc in glasgow, and boycott it. one of your supporters thingy's ( dont know which, rangers supporters wasp nest maybe) were in the thick of that. bbc were right of course.
you moved on seamlessly to blaming anybody and everybody. the list of potential boycotees is now longer than the rangers first team players list. at every stage of this madness you have sought to run down other clubs blaming most of them for your mess. you have besmirched scottish football in a way no other club has done anywhere. threats to march on hampden. protest at the cup final. boycott sponsors (how many rangers supporters work for these companies ? what about them ? ) boycott scotland international team. how about boycotting rangers ? when will the penny drop ?
rangers were like a guy who got 100 grand worth of credit cards and blew the lot. looked rich for a while and drew people in and kept it going until the bills got too big.
so heres a quick list of organisations who you say are out to get you.
the bbc. renowned worldwide for honesty
the sfa. of which rangers are a member.
the spl. of which rangers are a member
celtic fc. who have said next to nothing on the matter.
dundee utd fc. rangers owe them money
hearts fc. rangers owe them money.
bored now.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

The last two words of your rant are about right, thats what I am and am sure most bears are of the tax experts, company analysts, the footballing genius, law experts and know it all's from the east end of Glasgow. Post your dribble on the other site where you can all salivate and froth at the mouth about Rangers, bored now!!

Agree5 Disagree1

Suggest if you are bored you go back to your own page. We are equally bored reading this garbage.
Let's make this clear, we are members of SPL and SFA, and usually when you are a member they try to help in times of trouble. Not this mob, they change the rules to suit themselves, they don't want us in div 3 because they want our money, they don't want us to sign because they don't want us to be competitive. They take 75 per cent of tv money and if we are not there they would get bugger all from tv. It's look after themselves. Let me make this clear. If we are not there at least six of the teams in SPL will be in our predicament in a year, the we will have a four team league. These people should remember that it is not whyte or Murray that is suffering it is the fans, the same fans that get charged over the odds at away games. They have lived on our backs and celtics for years. Our ticket prices are over £5 dearer than the average game for these clubs. As far as the national team is concerned if it wasn't for rangers our co-efficient would be ten times worse than it is.
The problem is that there were no rules in place and they are making them on the hoof and looking after themselves. Let them have a kick when we are down, because if they keep playing these games there will be no rangers and the die that happens the rest of Scottish football dies, so be careful what you wish for. Let me say that the situation would be exactly the same if it was Celtic in this position.
The tv money will be slashed, there will be no league sponsors, the co-efficient will collapse. Last one out turn the lights off.

Agree3 Disagree1

Main poster - where did u dig that saying up ' a guy who got 100 grand...'
Technically Hearts are due their money at the end of the season as per the deal, obviously though things changed.
Have you applied for a job in the bbc?

Agree0 Disagree0

1. 2 and 3.
read through your replies and i cant find one factual rebuttal of any of my post. just the usual 'at's rubbish so it is'. especially 2. you just made all of that up didnt you ? lol (ticket prices are increased due to extra security costs.)
that's what i'm getting at, if you look carefully at the facts, as courts etc and businesses who are owed money do, you will see it as plain as day.
so lets start at the beginning, were you not all outraged and demanding action when the bbc outed craig or not ? it was all over this board i'll bet. after that maybe we can move onto how the cva you crave will impact on the money rangers owe hearts for instance.
3. the credit card thing was just an example of the initial effects of borrowing money you cant pay back. i thought you'd recognise the scenario vis a vis murray and rangers. cant you see how (as repeated above in 2) your demeaning attacks on the rest of scottish football will backfire ? at the very least you are saying that you have won nothing 54 times, because the rest of it is a load of rubbish.

As it is increasingly likely that Rangers will hamstrung through fines and penalties from the S.P.L. and S.F.L. and be unable to compete on the international stage for at least 3 years, would it be an idea to walk away from Scottish football altogether and look to join the Blue Square Premier. In 3 years we could be in the Championship ( the 5th richest league in Europe) and earning more there than in the S.P.L.

lets be honest fellow bears the Spl are going to change/make new rules to enable Rangers as a newco to remain in the SPL albeit with loads of penalties.

i ask you this? would this happen if it was Kilmarnock St Mirren or any other SPL team except Celtic the answer is NO. what this tells me is the SPL needs Rangers or more to the fact the Money Rangers help generate through TV,Sponsorship, gate receipts etc than Rangers need the SPL.

lets be honest how many of the other SPL clubs could survive in the SPL with reduced tv money/sponsorship money or gate receipts

if rangers go to the sfl 3 within a couple of seasons the SPL will implode teams will go bust a new league setup will be drawn up and because a precedent has been set these bust clubs will have to reform in the bottom league leaving the Old Firm back up where they belong at the top of the food chain Mark My Words.

Walter Smith:
"In many ways, they have maybe underestimated the problems Rangers have at the present moment.

"They have gone into administration and they have had to make arrangements with players who, at the end of the season, can walk away. In the circumstances they are in, the majority of them might take that option.

"With no way to replace them, it means that Rangers could effectively be playing a team that is full of under-18 players. In that situation, relegation would face the club. "

Someone tell WS that it's not the SFA's fault that Rangers might lose much of their first team this summer. The SFA can't take into account decisions made by the club regarding player contracts even if it was deemed a necessary loss-cutter at the time.

Does the transfer embargo include the signing of loan players?

If not then would this not be a good thing for the prospective new owners as they can sell some of the current 1st team squad and then look to replace them with loan players. Surely some of the big teams in England or abroad would like the idea of their players getting 1st team football as it would be more or less guaranteed with the position that Rangers are in.

Would help with getting transfer money in, and reducing the wage bill.

In association football, some national and club sides include one or more stars as part of (or beside) the badge (often referred to as a "crest") appearing on their shirt, to represent important trophies the team has previously won. Sometimes this is a unilateral decision by the team concerned rather than a privilege earned and sanctioned by any governing body. Wearing the star has also been adopted by various teams of other sports.

The first team to adopt a star was Juventus, who added one above their badge in 1958 to represent their tenth Serie A title. This was an extension of the existing convention by which the reigning champions are entitled to display the scudetto on their shirts for the following season. The star was later formally adopted by some organisations as a symbol for ten titles.

The Turkish league introduced a similar scheme in 2000, with one star per five titles.

In 2003 Rangers displayed 5 stars above the badge on their shirts to symbolise winning a world record of 50 League championships.

Here's a question regarding the one year banned on signing players.

When the new owner comes in regardless who it is, would the owner actual have any money to buy players, surely for the short term the plan would be to keep the club going on a even keel and possibly pay the debts to people outside the soccer world.

Personally i think a appeal will be lodged and the ban will be reduced to six months, (just my view not a rumour)

ed?
question - talk on previous - re the co-efficient etc which would affect Scotland.
Any idea what would happen to the co-eff points RFC have amassed over the years 7 making them the only Scottish team in the Top50 in Europe?
e.g will these points be deducted / re coualculated

bill72 {Ed001's Note - they are recalculated each season anyway, so Rangers co-efficient will drop each season. Any other change will be dependent on UEFA finding Rangers guilty of any charge. Right now that is not certain, UEFA usually prefer to let the local FA deal with the disciplinary procedures.}

As a celtic fan i wish their mite of been a hand offerd as knowbody enjoys this circus the hate filled fans i just wunt football to be a competition of 22 men trying to score more than the other 11,

So McCoist in his anger does once what Lennon has done on a monthly basis as Celtic manager and you come up with this. Rangers can be blamed for may things at the moment, but not an outspoken manager. McCoist normally keeps his court very well, and Lennon should take a look at how both McCoist and Walter Smith before him have handled themselves.

Agree4 Disagree6

The same as the refs getting abused and threatened because things don't go celtic way watp

Spare us the moral indignation please. Celtic are a club that once wanted every single referee in Scotland to declare what the team they supported as kids and who are more than happy to insinuate that every ref in Scotland is biased against them.

are to blame for this.
they make clubs look to big to fail
im tic fan but this is not just rangers
look at real madrid when they were
given 100 mil by there local gov to
help ease there debts, barca are
in debt hugely bu fifa, uefa see them
as too big to punish i think all the big
clubs even celtic need to be shown
that no club is bigger than football.

lastly all this bitterness by rangers
fans talking boycotts by fans and
players WHY your club broke rules
they get punished. if happend to my
tic i would be disgusted with the
club not the sfa or punishment.
best thing rangers can do is take all
the punishment and come back as
a newco or the original either way
you will be a better club

I think the idea of the spl/sfa is to force us into staying in the spl while being hit with these sanctions. Used to fill away grounds - Used for Sky deal -

Div 3 for me thanks, lets see Hearts, Dundee utd and Aberdeen etc follow into Admin.

Our club will survive due to its fan base!

Just 1 question to you Ed - Now CW has been banned of any involvement in Scottish football, does this mean he will be forced to sell his shares at any price?

Davo {Ed001's Note - he can't be forced to sell, but the club can be hit with repeated sanctions while he remains in charge.}

Ok as a complete neutral, what sanctions  should the SFA have imposed? Whilst I think the timing is appalling and the length excessive its no more than what the Championship teams have just voted and agreed to impose on themselves. I have been following this for a long time and do feel for Rangers fan's. However this mess is being viewed by the whole of europe as a test case. The results, whatever happens will ripple through every league. Best of Luck Gers, I really hope you get it sorted not just for you but for all of Scottish football. Peace.

Believable4 Unbelievable6

My opinion

large fine = £1 mill, conditional on coming out of admin. would allow things to progress & might give RFC chance to survive
not going to happen though - unfortunately there are to many people now revelling in the demise and final death throws of the Big Team

bill72

bill72

Agree2 Disagree3

My proposed sanctions would be simple

1) if Liquidation is avoided and we exit through a Cva a transfer embargo untill all football clubs have been paid in full
2) a probation period where all transfers to rangers must be paid in full at time of registration
3) a substantial fine with time to pay.

If Liqudated then

1) SFL division 3
2)transfer embargo untill all football clubs have been paid in full
3) a probation period where all tranfers to rangers must be paid in full at time of registration

remember what Rangers have been found guilty of

1) bringing game into disrepute
2) failing to pay clubs gate receipts and transfer fees
3)going into administration

non payment of payee and vat etc comes under no:1

lochaber Bear

Agree2 Disagree0

This ban was put in place due to the actions of Whyte not Rangers fc yet Whyte walks away scot free while Rangers are punished, he wont pay any fine and it was a waste of time giving it to him.

I would really like to know how Rangers fans or players could have known that Vat and paye was not being paid since the day he took over or how the club benefited from anything that CW did in his time at Rangers.

The bloodlust by some to see Rangers punished for anything no matter what has led to this ban, the SFA should have waited till Rangers had a C.E.O , Chairman and board of directors before bringing any case against the club, The 2 people that are running Rangers right now are trying to fight fires all over the place and no doubt were ill prepared for such a hearing.

Rangers have been convicted by a kangaroo court and in no way have been given a fair hearing that is why this ban will be overturned.

Agree2 Disagree4

No 3 . craig whyte , is/was the owner of rangers at the time of these rule breaks , so therefore the club and him get punished , as he made the decisions for rangers . it really isnt hard to understand
as for a fair hearing rangers along with all the other spl agreed these rules and the punishments , so very fair .

ed you wrote in one of your earlier posts that rangers should feel lucky to be in spl and they got off lightly,i can tell you that the majority of rangers fans and probably staff at rangers would rather see rangers being booted down a division or two,but they dont have the guts to do that,because they know it could have a snowball affect on other teams going down the same path as us,the spl and sfa need rangers footall club as they need celtic aswell without either its gona be a part time top division {Ed001's Note - I do believe that the SPL and SFA are trying their best to keep Rangers in the top flight.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Agree5 Disagree0

You are right ed they are trying to keep Rangers in the top flight but for what reason their love for Glasgow Rangers or for the love of the sponsorship/the tv revenue/the money generated by the support that Glasgow Rangers brings to the top flight. they want us in there but they want to make sure that we are incapable of winning anything. in my opinion the SPL clubs need Rangers more than Rangers need the SPL clubs if we head into SFL division 3 it will be hard and there will be barren times ahead but we are a big enough club to come through it how many other SPL clubs could survive without the money rangers generate never mind survive under the restrictions the SPL and the SFA plan to impose on Rangers.

Welcome ed22 will you be our dedicated ed or are you just passing through mate. remember dont say anything derogatory against us or we will want you identified lol.

on a more serious note

question to all fellow bears

it looks like due to various sanctions from the SFA/SPL a newco is our only option, now i for one was so against this that i swore i would not support any new owner that took us down this route. but on reflection i can now see that the SPL/SFA have basically tied the hands of any potential buyer with the proposed sanctions making it impossible to exit administration with a CVA.

so here is the big question fellow bears if a newco is formed, should we remain in the spl (if invited) or should we apply to the SFL, i for one will support a newco if we bite the bullet show some dignity and join the SFL division 3.

i will not support a newco if they bow to the SPL it is plain to see that the other ten clubs dont want us but they want the money that Rangers attract via sponsorship,tv rights and gate receipts.

if we go down to SFL we will rise again to be the dominant force in Scottish Football and we can do it without the likes of Kilmarnock, St Mirren, Dundee Utd etc doing us a favor by allowing us to stay in the SPL.

here is a thought for the Celtic fans who will take delight in our demise once we are gone you will lose the only friend you have in voting terms. whilst we are fighting our way out of the SFL the Celtic will be fighting the other 11 spl clubs because they will turn on you like a pack of wolves, it has already begun with secret meetings etc. it wont be long before they are getting half of your home gate income.

sensible replies only please

I dont know what people dont understand about the penalty given to Rangers, Dundee were given a similar transfer ban, it could (and should) have been worse they could have had far more sanctions.

Saying the timing is what you are upset about is wrong as well, everybody knew this case was being looked at for a while since after Rangers refused to pay Dundee Utd, the fact that the announcement was scheduled to come out after preferred bidder deadline says the sfa had tried to help Rangers out.

I know its not the fans or players faults but its the same with any company, its the employees and customers who suffer for mismanagement.

McCoists outburst especially after recent events was extremely stupid and having read his statement today he dosnt seem that bothered, he quite rightly condemns the people making threats but takes no responsibility for his role in this. I for one think this proves that this is the reason clubs voted for this anonymity for the judiciary panels

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Correct me if im wrong but was dundee transfer ban not only whilst they were in administration

Cant win with some supporters Ally speakds out the truth and everyone wants him out, Rangers have every right to know who the panel is that whatever anyone says could potentially kill one of the greatest football clubs on the planet.

Ally i support you son, keep doing what your doing, your a man with great integrity and obviously love your club. {Ed001's Note - are you for real? Rangers knew who was on the panel, Ally would have had access to that information too. So your post is complete tripe.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

As a Tim I understand Ally's feelings. Might not agree but he's entitled. However I know he loves his club but on the 3 names he's bobbed , seriously. Just put your hands up Ally and say you made a mistake in the heat of the moment. You like the rest of us are only human. Admit your mistake and be the better man

Agree1 Disagree0

Do we really think - honestly - -that these names would NOT have come out anyway - given the likely outcome i.e. liquidation?

bill72 {Ed001's Note - that isn't the issue, the issue is that, by asking for their names publicly, Ally has suggested there was something untoward and sneaky about their names being kept secret. So that has increased the bitterness towards the whole process and, by extension, those 3 on the panel.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Get a grip Ally never revealed who was on the panel so he has not put anyone at risk.

and stop taking the moral high ground here mate how much abuse did wullie colum take from Celtic fans and wasn't it your club who demanded transparency with refs wanting them to disclose who the supported when they were kids. unfortunately both clubs have an element of support are a disgrace and an embarrassment to the human race never mind our clubs

26 Apr 2012 09:54:25
Why should Ally quit?, he's done nothing wrong bar asking who the people are who may very well have put the future of the club and 100s of peoples jobs at risk.

Employees of Rangers could very well lose their homes and be left jobless if Rangers go under these people have been given zero sympathy for something that is not of their making. Not talking about super rich footballers here but salt of the earth people earning £200 per week.

A ban on a Football club working in the transfer market is a bit like a ban on a plumber fixing broken pipes etc, it will affect income not just for one year but for many years to come.

Why no ban on Dundee,Livi,Moterwell etc who all went into admin and all owed money to hmrc at the time?

Also side point here but these names were leaked on a Celtic forum not a Rangers one.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Rangers should have thought about their employees before breaking all the rules. What do you expect? sit on the naughty step for a couple of hours. Yes it has nothing to do with the supporters but what has happened was on various blogs months and months ago. You lot stuck your head in the sand and decided it was "Timmy" mischief making. Buying players when it was obvious to those in charge that the money was not available, your lucky its only a 12 month ban.

Agree4 Disagree0

He didn't need to ask who was on the panel because he had access to that info through the club. Therefore, his stupid rant was very wrong indeed. The actions of a moronic minority have now also shown why the names of those on such panels are not revealed to all and sundry in this country. We could end up without a disciplinary system with people refusing to rule on Old Firm cases in fear of threats to them and their families.

While I don't believe Mccoist directly caused the f*ckwit fraternity to do what they have done, I do believe his lack of judgement has contributed indirectly. he didn't need to demand for their identities to be known but in doing so he has poured fuel on the flames of the situation.

Once again our manager is on telling the press that this is not our fault but the fault of Craig Whyte.

How long will he persist with this "A babd boy done it then ran away" defence?

All of our troubles have been caused by the two men who held an 85% controlling interest in our great club.

All we should be doing is apologising, taking our deserved punishment on the chin and GETTING ON WITH IT?

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Yeah ok Mate.......the site your looking for is "Celticrumours.co.uk"

Agree2 Disagree4

Apologising for what? nothing to do with anyone at Rangers fc that Whyte was taking money from workers paye/vat and not handing it to taxman, Rangers football club certainly never benifted from this in any way shape or form.

Whyte also ran up over £40m of new debt in the space of 9 months, a totally shocking amount in such a short space of time.

Murray must take about 50% of the blame , but by the time he left we were up to date on paye/vat and had reduced our debt by 50% while winning 3 titles in a row, after 9 months of Whyte look at us now.

Not a rant but starting a debate, understandably the headlines have been about the off field but should Ally still be in charge and is he the man to carry on next yr since his record in cups thus season is rubbish and throw away a huge lead( before administration)

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Never thought Ally was going to make a good manager anyway. He was just 'Walter's Laddie' and that emotional bond that they have between them, almost like a father and soon, made it easier for Ally to eventually become manager after serving Walter's apprenticeship. He's proved he's a very poor manager and the whole administration saga has let him off the hook because he's a 'True Blue' you know!!

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes he should be in charge.

Given his resources and problems off field who would have done a better job?

Ally was given the job without anyone else being considered which i thought was bonkers to start with. rarely does an assistant make a good manager. walter being an exception. i thought guys like derek mcinness and butcher should at least have been considered as they had the experience of being managers at other clubs and have done pretty well with limited resources, particuarly mcinness. imo a young manager like mcinness would have been a breath of fresh air at ibrox
in saying fhat the way things have went this season it was maybe best we didn't appoint an established manager as their reputations would have been in serious danger of being ruined.
Ideally if we come lut of this in any fit state i would personally love derek mcknness.

although i am a trueblue, i am absolutely disgusted with the way these 3 individuals have been treated. whether you agree or disagree with 12 month ban on players sometimes my fellow supporters overstep the mark. whoever has leaked the names and those who are threatening them are not true rangers fans, they are scum who will be brought to justice. (ed- u heard anything about ally apparantly handing in his resignation). {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, it is just rumours, though he has upset a lot of people now and must be under great pressure to resign.}

Believable6 Unbelievable4

The only people hes upset is Celtic supporters (SHOCKING!) i know. {Ed001's Note - not true at all, he has upset most people within the game with the stupidity of his statement. I know he was angry, I know he is not the brightest bulb in the box, but he must have known it would cause issues to ask for those people to be named. It insinuated that he felt they were hiding because they had done it deliberately to hurt the club. Or that they had some kind of agenda against the club, hence not wanting to be known. Whereas all 12 SPL clubs had agreed to keep the identity of panel members secret due to the risk of idiots threatening them. I just don't understand what the club was playing at, they should never have allowed that statement to see the light of day.}

Agree2 Disagree3

Agree no one should be targeting anyone although the timing of the SFA sanctions have not done themselves any favours.

The sanctions are probably correct unfortunately but the SFA clearly have no idea how to manage the process effectively.

In administration you can't sign players anyway and given the length of time exiting administration would take buying players in the summer would have been highly unlikely.

The best we can hope for now is for common sense to dictate that if we exit admin and clear our footballing debts then we should have the embargo lifted- its the only way the club will survive.

Did livingston, Dundee, Patrick and Motherwell all receive such hefty fines and sanctions? Although Whyte is the panto villain all of these clubs were run equally as bad albeit the sums in question are greater with us.

The English leagues have introduced a good system about time the SFA looked into something similar easily a large proportion of our spl clubs run at a loss and could find themselves extinct.

In addition to this the language of the statements from both Mccoist and the administrators was ill-chosen. Phrases like 'this could kill our club' and 'the SFA are trying to cripple the club' (I've paraphrased a little) will only add to the anger felt by fans when the punishment could have been worse and it will neither cripple nor kill the club; the huge financial mess has crippled and may kill it.

Look to Murray for the target of protests and anger. But not threats. threats to people's safety will destroy any sympathy left for Rangers. I know it was a minority but no club, especially not one in Rangers' position, can afford to be associated with that type of behaviour.

It's good to see Ally has condemned the actions of the morons but he could have gone further and held his hands up to his ill-judged comments. Yes, he was angry, but a bit of thought might have prevented panel members and their families being offered police protection.

dont think a transfer ban and 160,000
fine is the worst the sfa could have
done and its certainly does not justify the furore
but i do think there should one set
of guidelines outlining the punishments,
criteria etc of teams entering adminstration
then from that point on the sfa should be helping teams rather than making it up as they go along.

Police investigating threats made against SFA panel........threats instigated by the one and only Ally "Sally McChins" McCoist!

Your manager's an embarrassment as well as a snide little troublemaker - a snake in the grass! Wonder if the SFA will discipline him for his actions?

Once again, the reputation of the Rangers support shines through, more men and their families under police surveilance due to cowardly threats from the dark side!

Shame on you, whoever you are!

even their own wives and families.! Disgrace

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Spare us the Celtic propganda please, no one should be abused on Twitter or any other site its vile to do so, but for Celtic fans to use this to paint Rangers as the bad guys again is ridiculous.

Celtic have questioned the integrity of refs EVERY single time they have lost this season and these refs have also been abused on Twitter & social media sites as well because of this.

This is why Rangers fans are so furious at the minute certain things are being reported while others get swept under the carpet.

Police investigate threats to Scottish FA panel
25 April 12 19:51 GMT

Police have given security advice to members of a Scottish FA panel that handed out punishments to Rangers after their identities were revealed.
The names of the three-man board responsible for imposing a year-long transfer embargo on the Ibrox club have been published on internet sites.
The SFA say all three have since received "abusive and threatening communication".
It adds that Strathclyde Police are taking the threats seriously.
A statement from the governing body reads: "We are deeply concerned that the safety and security of judicial panel members appointed to a recent tribunal has been compromised by a wholly irresponsible betrayal of confidential information.
"The judicial panel consists of volunteers from across the spectrum of sport and business in Scotland. They are appointed on the basis of anonymity yet all three panel members have reported intrusion into their personal and work lives, including abusive and threatening communication.
"This has been extended to directors of the Scottish FA, whose private details have been published on internet sites and who have, themselves, been victims of abusive communication.
"This culminated tonight in a visit by Strathclyde Police, who are taking seriously the threats made towards the individuals involved. We are thankful for their advice and support in these matters."
One of the individuals on the panel, who the BBC are choosing not to name, said that he is now considering his future involvement in the process.
"I cannot discuss anything about the case for reasons of confidentiality," he told BBC Scotland.
"I hope that when the statement of reasons is published by the SFA in due course, that responsible people will understand the reasons for the decision.
"I have no axe to grind with any football club."
Rangers were hit with a 12-month transfer embargo on players over 18, while owner Craig Whyte has been banned for life from any involvement in Scottish football.
The club, who are in administration, were also fined £160,000 after they were found guilty of five rule breaches.
The club's administrators say the penalties are "prejudicing the survival" of the ailing Glasgow giants and intend to appeal against the decision.
Rangers fans have been incensed by the ruling and manager Ally McCoist claimed the punishment could "kill" the club.
An emotional McCoist then went on to criticise the SFA's methods, adding: "Who are these people? I want to know who these people are.
"I'm a Rangers supporter and the Rangers supporters and the Scottish public deserve to know who these people are, people who are working for the SFA.
"Make no mistake about it, this is an SFA decision. They have appointed the panel so therefore they are working for the SFA, but who are they?
"I think we have a right to know who is handing out this punishment to us, I really do."
SFA chief executive Stewart Regan refused to comment on the ruling, given the governing body will have to hear an appeal against it.
However, he did defend the organisation's revamped disciplinary procedures and stressed the panel acted on the findings of an independent inquiry chaired by former judge Lord Nimmo Smith.
"The judicial panel tribunal is an independent body made up of three members appointed from a list of more than 100," he said in response to the furious reaction from fans and the administrators.
"The implementation of the judicial panel process was approved unanimously by all member clubs at last year's annual general meeting to bring efficiency, transparency and independence to the execution of football rules."

The Scottish FA revealed it is "deeply concerned" after members of the independent judicial panel that decided Rangers’ punishment have received threats.

On Wednesday night the governing body released a statement about the situation after details of the three-man panel, which was appointed on the condition of anonymity, appeared on websites.

The SFA also said its directors had received abusive emails after their details were published on websites.

This came after Rangers were fined £160,000 and banned from registering new players for 12 months for a series of rule breaches including bringing the game into disrepute.

After the decision was released manager Ally McCoist said in an interview with Rangers TV, the club’s official online channel, he wanted to know the identities of those who agreed the punishment.

A Scottish FA spokesperson: "We are deeply concerned that the safety and security of Judicial Panel members appointed to a recent Tribunal has been compromised by a wholly irresponsible betrayal of confidential information.

"The Judicial Panel consists of volunteers from across the spectrum of sport and business in Scotland. They are appointed on the basis of anonymity yet all three panel members have reported intrusion into their personal and work lives, including abusive and threatening communication.

Very well done bears!

With your actions today you have managed to before it's even been heard, rendered your appeal against the sanctions placed on your team as pointless. A waste of time.

Tell me do you seriously see the SFA overturning they're original decision now after the threats. They couldn't possibly now.

I think it speaks volumes about the level of intelligence these creatures who committed these crimes have when u consider they weren't "wide" enough to wait for the appeal to be heard and decided before they went ahead.

I was convinced the embargo would have been overturned sufficed to say I'm not now.

Ed I don't agree with super saying what he said about the SFA panel etc , but i do understand, it must be impossible for him not to be taking this and everything else personally because of his love and history with our club , HIS club actually, should the questions not be asked of our media advisors, or whoever the f£ck advised him or maybe even instructed him before the interview, I take it questions and answers are known in advance of doing such an interview. Is there anything else left for us to do....? Any granny's to be robbed or churches to be burnt down? It really is getting insane..
PaulRFC {Ed001's Note - I can only assume that he got no advice, if he was advised to say that, well then the advisor has to be immediately dismissed from their position. It was an idiotic thing for him to say, it makes absolutely no sense.}
