Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

My Cashly, is becoming more than a nuisance for not just Rangers but Scottish football generally. His ego and greed are the driving forces behind the 2 recent lawsuits against the SFA / Rangers. For every pound SFA/ Rangers spend on legal costs, that is a pound not spent on the development and quality of Scottish football. It's time for -not just us- but all Scottish clubs to take a collective stance against this and any other wealthy businessman holding our national game to ransom. The question is how?

25 Nov 2015 11:16:33
I am in business and just had a look at his portfolio including cash reserves. The resources he has means he can drag this out as long as he wants, he want 100% control of everything he does he won't settle at 9% and if he can't get it he'll do all he can to make sure nobody can. He will be challenging the legality of any SPFL or association rule that gets in his way. This is a fight with no winners. Until this guy gets bored there isn't much more that can be done. Believe me DK and his cohorts are going about it the right way. I think there's more to come on this saga, the courts are going to be busy. Meantime Rangers could stagnate until this mess is sorted out.

25 Nov 2015 12:56:26
I said this a few weeks ago that Rangers and the sfa need to work together to rid this man from Scottish football, this man is not used to people standing up and telling him no, that's why he's got it in for our new board, btw he will cause as much damage to Rangers that he can before he ever does walk away, but he will be here for the foreseeable future.

unless the court case against white and green reveals something that can hopefully rule that any club contracts that they signed become null and void, wishful thinking guys, I wish this man would leave our club alone. he is a disgrace and he couldn't care less. I used to buy stuff from his shop but I haven't spent a penny in there in a long time, and I never will.

25 Nov 2015 15:01:36
Unfortunately I don't think Ashley is going anywhere Newcastle are in danger of relegation and we are on the up, he sees us as a way of getting his brand promoted in Europe that's where his interest is, and he's quite willing to use us to get it done. That's why he wants King kicked out by SFA, then he can start snapping up all the shares he can get his hands on.

{Ed039's Note - He cant snap up the shares as he signed an agreement stating he wouldn't own more than 10%)

25 Nov 2015 13:51:28
I might be wrong but the SFA already have a rule that one person cannot own two European football clubs. I am sure the owners of Chelsea, many years ago tried to buy Partick Thistle and the SFA blocked it.

25 Nov 2015 13:58:40
He has a valid point. A convicted criminal on a 3 & half year suspended sentence and branded a Shameless Liar is fit and proper? The "Devil was always in the Retail" for Big Slim! . As for The SFA there Ineptness will be proven in a Court of Law.

25 Nov 2015 14:13:31
Why doesn't anybody suggest paying back the £5m loan? Surely that would be a good start. Maybe that would mend a few bridges.

Also, I think that MA might be doing Scottish football a favour by bringing the SFA to court. Anything that helps replace those running the Scottish game should be encouraged.

25 Nov 2015 15:58:15
He can't promote his brand in Europe. Not through European games anyway, they have their own sponsors logos adorning all stadia.

25 Nov 2015 16:51:03
That's the first time I've read that"devil retail"line, Stefanny. I'm sure you never made it up yirsel though.

25 Nov 2015 17:07:27
gkk all that stefannytos does is read Phil McPlasticpaddy then come on here trying to claim phrases he has used in his money spinning blog, which by the way claims we are all facists and regularly makes references to us being the 'Klan'. Says it all really.

25 Nov 2015 17:20:29
Ashley can promote his brand across Europe - as shirt sponsors is the clubs realm - not UEFAs.

We are big club and he has money to back up - but if fans don't want a billionaire - who do we want. a glib and shameless liar. no thanks.

Lets see what AGM agrees - but King at SPFL today - and no real comment about what. but courtesy call - yeah right!

He has been ordered to attend something. who knows what.

25 Nov 2015 18:03:44
MA has vengeance on his mind. The SFA are line for a bloody nose and a sore bottom after his QCs are finished with them.
They have most likely broken their own rules in allowing Mr King to become a director. there is one way out and Dave King will get the "chop". he then may be happy enough in not dragging the cretins at Hampden through their own mire.
No one with a bit of a brain could argue that a man with convictions for fraud could pass a "fit and proper test". when do we ever learn? never it seems.

25 Nov 2015 17:22:39
Ashley couldn't care less about us or Scottish football, the guy has the mentality of a child who likes hoarding toys. as for his 5 million, that reprobate has taken a small fortune out of our club. King and the board are hoping that the court case brings up something against him, that's why they are waiting, and btw good on them.

25 Nov 2015 20:50:10
Firstly cheers ed. I also agree with tp9 regarding Ashley and Scottish football. The guy is a megalomaniac.

25 Nov 2015 21:03:34
tp9 - what difference would the outcome of any court case matter? It is a fact that Rangers borrowed £5m from Sports Direct which Rangers must repay.

26 Nov 2015 07:15:51
Is the point there is no repayment date - rather a demand for repayment.

Once repaid no further "cards to play"

26 Nov 2015 07:19:40
Ally

Was there not a "hold-up" in SFA passing King as "fit and proper" until the Court of Session in Edinburgh cleared him "legally" first?

26 Nov 2015 08:42:42
So what tp9 if Ashley taking "small fortune" out of us - our shirts are on sales and he creams a cut - he business man.

We have someone who will protect our brand, with legal force. would you rather than or no-one.

SDM took a very large fortune out of us EBT £6m, running EBTs £5m, £18m (up front) for JJB shirt deal, our £50m stadium value vanished, our 140 year history value. sold for £1m? We were worth £50m easily. yet bought for £5m (where did missing £45m go) .

Ashley is someone who is in business to make money, and he does it with brands in trouble, Scottish football full of brands in trouble and he needs to expand.

We need billionaire backing us somehow - its Ashley or who?

{Ed001's Note - I really don't think you understand how Ashley works if you think he is a good thing for Rangers. You would be better off with no one than him.}

26 Nov 2015 11:51:36
What Ashley does with the "brands" does not involve rebuilding them to former glories. He understands the residual value, maximizes this and strips them for all their worth. Theirs only so many times you can do this before the brand itself becomes worthless. Look at Dunlop, Slazenger, Karrimore, Firetrap etc all once the bees knees now cheap tat. Is this what we want? We need a long term strategy not somebody that will burn the soil behind then run. If DK is all we have we should stick with that.

26 Nov 2015 12:54:10
I hate everything the man stands for, but I've got to admit I miss my Slazenger polo shirts. Far better made than Fred Perry, La Coste etc. They wash better, hold colour better and they're 2 bob each. But I refuse to give the fat greasy fud a bean.

26 Nov 2015 13:33:18
I doubt we'll ever see Mike Chavy in any of the clobber knocked out at his sweat shops. Maybe the sport socks 2 fur a pound.

26 Nov 2015 15:55:47
Ed001 - Ashley solds shares in SportDirect and those who invested made money as did he, its profitable and sound business.

King sold shares in his company and only him and his partner made money - business went tits up - everyone else lots their shirts.

Ashley makes profits from brands.?

Newcastle are in EPL and can buy players for £20m - but Ashley will take a cut - so what.

Does king have any money. appears not if we need £ms to get to end of this season with loans - again. ?

One day loans must be repaid. If never in profit that's real issue.

{Ed001's Note - you do not have a clue what you are talking about. I am not going to get into this debate with you, you know sweet fa about Newcastle or what he does to make his money. If you think it is a good thing, then you are ignorant of what happens.}

25 Nov 2015 09:40:18
How important are the Cups? The debate goes on. In my opinion, not. Hearts did the right thing last season and exited all competitions early and focused only on the league.

The four best teams in the country are Celtic, Rangers, Hibs and Hearts. Now think the unthinkable for a moment and we fail to get out of this league this season through finishing runner's up and the lottery of the playoffs. The consequences are mind blowing. The only thing that matters is that we win the league. Nothing else.

25 Nov 2015 10:37:59
I would say Aberdeen are bigger and better than Hibs.

25 Nov 2015 11:44:25
They are currently better than us too, as are the other 9 clubs above us.

25 Nov 2015 12:58:44
We are not one of the best teams in the country, we won't be either until we build a solid spine in our team, we are far to lightweight from middle to front.

25 Nov 2015 13:06:21
Kfraser as delusional as ever. The 4 best teams in the country are us, celtic, and the two teams who happen to have caused us the most bother in the first division over the past two seasons? No mention of Aberdeen. No mention of St Johnstone, currently flying high and who roundly cuffed us not so long ago. You better go see the doctor bud, sounds like you've got a bad case of tunnel vision.

25 Nov 2015 13:09:31
Try sticking your head out the sand once in a while just because your at the top of Scotland's 2nd tier doesn't make you one of the best teams. Do you not remember a skelping at home to st Johnstone a few weeks ago? And don't discount Aberdeen Ross county Dundee etc they are playing against better teams consistently than the championship sides. If you throw all your eggs in to one basket and disregard the Scot cup how will you know how good your team is? Because I know how good Dumbarton livi st Mirren etc are.

25 Nov 2015 13:37:16
Unfortunately jim have to agree. yes league is no 1 but we also have to try in cups just for revenue at least. we did get battered by st johnstone and are getting found out by lesser teams. i'm afraid possession doesn't win games people, goals do. i'm just hop8ng something happens in court and ashley's deal is null an void. we're in trouble. gers with ashley and all the other dodgy deals.

25 Nov 2015 19:46:30
Said it on here a few weeks ago, all the protests towards the fat man MA should be directed at his other stores, not at Ibrox. We must show this man we mean business, and the only way to do this is to turn up en masse at all his stores systematically. Might not be enough to drive him away but it would be a hindrance, and maybe the Newcastle fans could follow suit then it would be a pain in his massive a**e.
I'm glad Dave King is standing up to this man, Bullies should not be tolerated in any walk of life regardless the money they have at their disposal.
