Personally I think the discipline and the way played today having gone 1-0 was superb! I hope we can also do this when the real league action starts

tbh I don't blame Scott Allan for wanting to come to Rangers, not only is he a fan but Rangers are on the up!

Cmon Scott get that transfer request in

The boy is in an difficuĺt postition and that half time interview with alba didn't help the situation. It was painful to watch let alone record for Scott.however we all share the same right to work for who and where we want.think its called freedom.

26 Jul 2015 07:05:05
That was a pre-recorded interview from Hibs training ground mate.

26 Jul 2015 13:51:49
I was under the impression he got a taxi back to the training ground at half time to record the interview.how my perception decived me!strange he mentioned going to England when its plain to see where he wants to play gkk.didnt seem convincing in the slightest and reckon an other player could have been selected instead of him for the half time hi s interview.

Was obviously done a while ago before the transfer speculation got out of hand.
What am I telling you this for? You're not easily decIved.

To many negative posts as per.lee Wallace got his game together in the later part of the first half.Gained the free kick for the equaliser and an outstanding pass for the third goal. The new system will take time to come together.passing from the back will be the toughest part so let's keep faith and relax.Special mention to Kenny Miller a good pro and a man I have had the pleasure of meeting on á few occasions. He might be getting on a bit but look what he can still do in an organised team.Credit to the boys today and enjoy watching footbàll for the first time since Mcoist heaped misery on the pitch and all the off field trouble we have had to deal with.

Rfc 111 how can u say wallace ain't the same player after 90 mins lol what u need to realise is he wasnt having to do all the work for the team he got help unlike with the duds last season can we have 1 good win without any negative comments on here I for 1 think we will blow teams out the water this season always had faith even when we were 1-0 down

26 Jul 2015 09:16:46
Scottym87. did you see any games last year? Also, Go back and watch the defensive side of Wallace's game yesterday . After all he is supposed to be a defender first and foremost!! But Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

25 Jul 2015 20:54:46
First half wasn't great, however digging in and scoring two fine goals when we weren't playing that well showed great character and great work ethic. When was the last time we could say that about our team. Years gone by we would have lost the game by half time. Law, temps, mckay, miller looked like different players, plenty room for improvement but encouraging. All the new boys done well. Thought defence looked shaky at times, wilson was cocky at times when all he had to do was the simple thing, which warburton had a word with him. Keeper had two scary moments but was refreshing to see him come off his line and show some command. Its very early days but many positives, a lot of the football and goals were great. I would like to see a holding mid and a winger brought in if possible. Credit W&W and the board. Things are looking up. Wonder if luigi is off the happy pills now.

A good result today, but the performance wasn't amazing. Some point periods though.
I was really pleased with the way Barrie McKay played. He got a few assists and it was great to see him ease past the defender for the 6th.
I did feel that the defence didn't have much protection, but hopefully Eustace would do the job if he signs.
It does feel that it's the first time that we have had some clinical finishing for the first time in years.
Once the team plays more, I can see them being great to watch.

The Scott Allen scenario is a bit like the Richard Gough scenario ie they won't sell to us and he had to go away to come back.
Is SA that good? I saw all games v Hibs last season and he was ok but maybe anyone could have been against our absentee midfield.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

25 Jul 2015 19:57:09
i seriously thought when Allan come on for hibs he was the 1 to drive the ball foward and some of his passing was quality, I am 100% sure he would be brilliant for us aslong the price is right

Hi guy

Enjoyed the game today great to see the improvements in the second half. really excited for the season to come.

Anyway while I was watching the game today I was thinking that we can't have many foreign players (I.e not British) at the club now certainly not in the first team squad. Am I correct in my thinking or is there a few I'm forgetting about zaliukas obviously and young aird is that it?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Great to watch Rangers play as if they knew what they were doing for a change, a wee bit shaky at the start. but once we got going I though it was terrific, Mark Warburton has bought well. on a negative note, the fans who got arrested for sectarian singing and letting off a flare, don't bother going to watch Rangers guys, we have enough on our plate with other clubs, directors, SFA board and the great even handed Scottish press, don't give these people an excuse to be little our club. When fans let's us down, and I know it was only 3, that's my point, more men will be arrested tonight for peeing in the street. Let us cut out the naughty songs and the flares. We are on the way back, and exciting times are ahead, let's all do it the right way, and then we can thumb our noses at the Rangers haters within Scotland.

Early days but today's performance anything to go on, really encouraging!

Only weak links I think will be the bombscare goalie - think he could cost us a few goals this season - and Lee Wallace - not the same player.

All we need now is Scott Allan??

Believable1 Unbelievable4

25 Jul 2015 20:21:03
I think blowing foderingham of after 1 game is awful short sighted, all good goalkeepers have a streak in them, let the guy have a chance to settle, cammy bell is not the answer, of that I'm sure, foderingham has a bright future also a bright spark today was both cb playing with the ball at their feet and not just hoofing it

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Jul 2015 09:00:17
This guy definitely needs a chance, my mates go to Swindon regularly and reckon he is the best goalie outside the EPL. Time will tell. Maybe were just not used to passing from the back. lol

Believable5 Unbelievable0

25 Jul 2015 18:17:43
I'm getting a bit scunnered with all this Scott Allan stuff. The boy is a good Championship player, probably an average SPL player. I'm hoping he wouldn't get a game next season as the squad is beefed up further for the top league. I'm sure if Warburton identified him as some sort of vital missing link he would already be at Ibrox. There's another five weeks to go to bring in players and by the looks of it today, Warbs knows what he needs.

A shaky start Ally yes, but some of our play in the second half was very very good. Much better than anything during the past 3 years. And that's the management team's first competitive match. I can see us shipping goals, yes, but it's going to be an exciting ride

Hi all bears, I am from perth Western Australia just watched the game on bein sports and what can I say, that's the way to play football fast, flowing 90 min football, big goalie a bit shaky but the boy travenier a bit like Ashley cole up and down and his free kick top drawer, great to see the fans really enjoy and have smiles on there faces it's been a long long time coming, let's back this guy Warburton and see where we go, get Scotty Allan in and billy McKay and possibly eustace and that should do us follow follow from us bears in perth wa

Isn't "Hun" a racist term?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - never understood why it has become used as anything other than a compliment. The Huns were a highly advanced civilization made up of a polyglot of small tribes who joined together to make a great culture.}

25 Jul 2015 19:31:20
Oops Ed you will have GAZ1,fab1 and DH88 choking on their supper. Mistakenly like most Celtic fans (and bears) they will have thought it was a very derogatory term. Never mind lads I'm sure you will come up with something "more suitable" for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it just shows the ignorance of people that it has been used that way, similar to the term barbarian, when barbarians were just anyone that wasn't Roman, many of which were as or even more advanced than the Romans. Mind we call people Neanderthals as well, when they had a larger brain than us, so they were likely to be more intelligent, so it should hardly be used in the way it is.}

25 Jul 2015 20:18:32
So you take a swipe at people being presumptuous and forming an ignorant opinion Mannering by being presumptuous and forming an ignorant opinion yourself. Yeah that showed me???

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jul 2015 21:41:27
Well do pardon me GAZ1 I thought there was sufficient levity in my post to not cause offence but obviously sensitivity is not dead in football banter sites.
I would say lad though if you dish it out in the "informative" way you do you should expect an occasional riposte in mild disagreement.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Jul 2015 20:34:26
Not sure if there is a definitive reason for the word 'hun' used to describe Rangers and their fans. My belief was always that it was in reference to the connections to the Hanoverian dynasty and Protestantism. There was once a report from a game in England describing the fans as ' marauding huns' or words to that effect. Who knows?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jul 2015 21:05:11
Celtic fans were called Huns before Rangers fans in the 40s and 50s.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jul 2015 21:34:45
Barbarians were people who did not speak Greek. The Greeks said their speech sounded like "barbar" - so they called them ' Barbaroi'.
I know - I really should get out more!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that is not why we use it in the sense we do though. We use it in the sense we do because of the Romans, though you are correct that is where it initially came from, before the Romans adopted it in Latin. Quite odd that the Romans adopted it, when they were actually technically barbarians themselves.}

25 Jul 2015 23:29:39
does the "F" not relate back to some sort of warrior but its offensive same difference as hun if i'm honest.

i just don't understand how celtic fans get away with glorifying terroist organisations etc yet rangers get hammered for signing songs against them. not trying to say that either is correct just that a level playing field is required as both are not appropriate.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jul 2015 23:55:21

It was used after Rangers fans tore up Leeds (similar) to Manchester and as the above poster mentioned the following day the local paper described the fans as huns.

Ed you are very knowledgeable you should apply for the Chase as a chaser.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't even know what that is mate, sorry. Not sure if that is an insult or not? I just like history and useless facts. My head is full of useless information that is only any good for quizzes really.}

26 Jul 2015 18:16:09
A great quiz show on stv at 5pm hosted by Bradley Walsh. The chaser being the man with the knowledge.

Just back from the game, 1st half thought we was very flat and got that free goal that helped us, Second half we was simply brilliant, I was going to come on here and say that McKay is useless. However his 2 assists for Miller was simply quality. oh was it clark. my bad, thought young mckay did it, i'm sure young barrie set up second goal, stil need a bit more from him though not just him also temps aswell, I know its early days but if we gunna play 433 we need our wide men to be a constant threat, anyway great result today on wards and up wards,

Once we settled down some of the football we played was excellent. You could comment on certain aspects but it looks like Messrs. Warburton and Weir will deliver the goods.
Football played on the deck and with pace an skill, great to watch.
I may be a big critic of DK on the financial aspects of our club, but with today as the basis, I'll be happy to watch our team. With a bit of luck and a couple of signings, we could be on our way back to where we belong.

BW, I never doubted Warburton's potential, so given his signings and style of play, we always had a good chance of having a good team. My doubts lie solely with King and the 'mistruths' he has spouted.

25 Jul 2015 14:50:06
Delighted! I know it's early days but if that is the kind if football on offer that'll do for me. When you see James Tavernier trying to break into their box to score at 6-2 up and well into the final stages of the game it shows you the philosophy W and W are trying to install into the side. Really pleased for Barrie McKay. I thought he did great. Really Ally, did you not know how good a player he is? Impressed with Holt, Halliday and even Law. We passed the ball well, closed down, took quick free kicks and short corners and the guys looked as if they had enough energy to play another game. Waghorn did well and what about Kenny Miller? 2 typical Miller goals. He could notch quite a few in this team. Finally, maybe the Scott Allen doubters might change their mind after his showing after coming on as a sub. Can you imagine how good a side we potentially could be with Allan in it? Fingers crossed we get him. Only let down was the performance of the keeper. Looks a right bombscare to me! Looks like it's going to be a roller coaster ride of a season. Bring it on!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

25 Jul 2015 15:50:33
Law still can't pass 5 yards . He is so frustrating

Agree2 Disagree4

25 Jul 2015 17:23:22
In my opinion the keeper only had 2 dodgy moment but he's a massive step up compared to what we've had the last 3 seasons, came out and cleared things and collect the ball again apart from 2 mistakes he done his job and law played one of his best games in a rangers shirt today, wanted to get involved, played good passes and chased everything down apart from the first goal but once match sharpness is perfect the mistakes will be cut out and we should and could of easily of scored a few more and Cummings penalty was more of a dive in my opinion

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jul 2015 21:15:06
I thought Penalty was soft as well Blue nose. As for the keeper, he needs to work on his distribution. He almost cost us a couple of goals letting the attackers get too close. Didn't have a lot else to do apart from that and seemed competent enough tbh. First game - we should give him the benefit of the doubt

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jul 2015 14:48:15

25 Jul 2015 14:29:44
looks like I was too quick to judge, but we were poor in the first 30 mins but after the slow start the players finally played like a team. I honestly thought it was going to be a lot tougher.

after more games this could be a good side, and a few players looked good.Mcaky was quiet first 30imn but finished the game with a good performance.Looks like we have a player that can get goals from dead balls. Was even surprised on Law's performance.
General the performance was good and players seemed to be more hungrier for the ball .
if they can continue to play lie this and improve after each game, we could have a good season. Apart from the leauge I hope we make a bigger impact in the Scottish Cup

Believable2 Unbelievable0

25 Jul 2015 15:19:08
Scott Allan must be even more determined to get his move to Rangers now.

Hibs though will be even more desperate to keep him.

Very enjoyable stuff today, how many times did Rangers score six or more when Super Salary was in charge?

Agree2 Disagree1

25 Jul 2015 15:58:03
Aye Naz. But for me it was all about the work ethic and athleticism of the team. They looked as if they could have run all day. Also was interesting to hear Andy Halliday say the guys had their arses kicked at the break. It certainly worked after a shaky start. Terrific!

Believable1 Unbelievable5

25 Jul 2015 13:27:56
Can't believe we're already getting grumbles half way through our first competitive game. Hibs are closing down and making it difficult but I can see that we are set up to play attacking football. Unfortunately this will mean that we might concede more goals but I'm confident that when the team gels we'll be hard to beat. Great goal by Tavernier and good work by him in the lead up to the second goal. The boy Holt looks a good player. Hibs must be sick of the sight of Waggy already!

Team just posted on Rangers website. Same team that played Burnley so no Miller, Murdoch or McGregor in starting line-up. That means Kiernan, Holt and Mackay start. Personally, I'm glad that Mackay might be getting a chance to prove himself - McCoist simply didn't give him that chance.

hi i'm new here I wish rangers would stop messing around with this hibs saga and just offer like 350k -400k for allan surley to god they can offer a sum that size he's still young and has sell on value plus allan would be coming to a rival team that's a kick in the teeth itself for hibs I think rangers lack creative players on the park . agree or disagree thanks for reading my post

Would agree it's embarrassing to us to offer such paltry amounts. There was no way they would let him go for such a small amount and it only antagonises them. Pay a fair price and hopefully he will be signed

Its embarassing that you don't realize why we have bid low to start.

Before you all start with the 'obsessed' nonsense, I've been reading these sites for years. everything from different clubs rumours/banter to wwe and ironically, being a Tim, the conspiracy page.

Anyway just want to point out something. in my workplace if I put in a holiday request, emphasis on request, that doesn't suit business needs at the time, no chance will I get the holiday. Yeah I may not be happy for a bit, however I am professional and still do my job to the best of my ability as I have a contract which I need to honour. Guess what I'm trying to say is if a certain player hands in a transfer request there is no guarantee it will be accepted and he will need to knuckle down and get on with it, petted lip or not.

Your right hivs could dig their heels in and knock back any offer.however if the boy is not happy and wants to go it would be detrimental to the team.also rangers have been taking a bit of stick regarding this saga.let me point out it is any clubs parogative to bid for any player.it was hivs who released the press statement regarding the offer derisory or not.

true mikey but if you handed your notice in to get better pay in your dream job and your work refused it then asked you to compete against the two days later could you honestly give 100%?

a very strange comparison as putting in a holiday request is not the same as putting in a transfer request. He wants to leave his company and u compare it to taking a holiday?? As has been proven time and time again keeping an unhappy player at a club doesn't work. The player isn't happy he doesn't play at the premium and it can cause unrest in the dressing room. IF the reports are true and Allen wants to join Rangers then I would imagine he will get his way more likely during the January transfer window.
