Have to say that he is a goal machine much in the way Morelos was in Finland.
Will Shankland be able to step up and fill Alf's boots? Don't think he is up there but I don't see many other dead certs on the horizon that we might steal for £1m.
Cheap wages, I'd back him as 2nd or 3rd choice striker as a minimum.

Imo shankland is a no brainer. Granted the step up is a big one but what he has can't be taught. The next level for him would come from the coaching. Training and acces to experiece he would get at ibrox. If he can't cut it he wouldn't be the first. But that could be said for a 5-10m signing if we brought one in. Worth giving him the chance.

Not a rumour bears, but looking for your opinion on this. Windass is available from Wigan for £500k. Would you take him back? Personally I think he would be good on the right side of the attack for us, would offer what Kent does on the left, and is able to come narrow too.

Very happy bear today, with the announcement that our current loanee striker jermain defoe has signed a pre-contract for 1 year permanent contract to remain with rangers beyond his current loan deal, which of course finishes at the end of this season. Wee defoe is in great shape still, at 37 years old and is a total thoroughbred! He's brilliant to have about the place for the development of our young players into the bargain. Not to mention although he's our no.2 striker behind alfredo, he hasn't lost his tremendous goalscoring traits and has a terrific 1 in 2 goal ratio with us. A total model pro who will IMO get a coaching job within ibrox once he hangs up his boots. He can easily still play up here for another 2 or 3 years at least. Really delighted with this news, as there were reports he had offers from a good few clubs in england, but was desparate to stay with us, as he loves everything about rangers! 👍😀😀.

It was a cracking goal that young Nesbitt scored for The Pars last night - running with the ball, passing players and the skill to strike it past the gk was a joy to watch. I it would be a no-brainer for Rangers to sign him and Dundee Utd's Shankland - would not cost a lot with minimal risk.

I disagree that we're shipping far better players out, we have some players on our books who were overrated, and needed shifting. Players can be developed by playing in the first team, I would like to see some of our younger players getting more game time, even in a cameo roll.

He’s prepared to run at defenders himself or even run the channels.
And I’ve very rarely seen Morelos pass! He’d prefer to shoot from 40 yards! 😂.

I agree with you both in a sense lol. I also think we need a striker with better aerial ability, maybe not to mainly use as a target man because we only play one up front but we do put a lot of high balls into the box which when we have Defoe on is pointless unless it is pinpoint, most of them are not but someone who has a few extra inches and the aggression to win it could make better use of those crosses. It would also be a useful tactic to have when teams park the bus and we are struggling to break teams down.

Arfield has been an effective player for us however I am going to stick my neck out and say we need an upgrade on that sort of position to win this league. There are going to be a number of games where we just need that wee bit more quality in that position.
