Gave myself a media blackout for 48 hours like a lot of Bears. Just watched SGs presser and he looked a bit subdued or maybe at his witts end on telling the players how to play and they just ignore it. I said on day one about Worrall and got shot down on here. I said he's to "slow with the ball at his feet" and that has proved correct time and time gain. From the Celtic game Worrall has proved you can paint a rubbish but 2 coats, come on!

25 Jan 2019 22:36:00
On the upside, Lennon has been suspended. A little laugh for a Friday night.

26 Jan 2019 00:24:41
I like Gerrard, I really do but he has to take some responsibility here. Chopping and changing the players, no settled CH pairing. We dropped so many points recently.

26 Jan 2019 11:10:42
I also really like Gerrard but I feel we have went back the way from the beginning of the season. Games away from home we need a team who are big and strong and it looked like Coulibaly would add a physical box to box player but he has fallen away. We give away cheap goals game after game another thing sg said he would fix. We start every game needing to score 2 or 3 goals.

Mccrorrie needs to start at Livi to protect the centre halfs and we need to get the ball firward faster and get more players in and around Morelos. Come on SG. Let’s go.

26 Jan 2019 12:30:13
Poor attitude, preparation and lack of focus against Kilmarnock. Whilst no doubt down to complacency after Celtic result does not make it any more excusable.

26 Jan 2019 12:40:45
Bankie

We have been poor away from home in the league all season even in the 4 games we have won we struggled. The same players seem to make the same mistakes and we are fair game for any team away from home. Fed up to of Tabernier coming out in the press and giving the usual tired lines after a defeat. Great Rangers captains don’t just talk a good game they make sure it’s sorted out. Tavernier is no rangers captain.

26 Jan 2019 12:48:21
Baz, agree young McCrorie needs to play. Think he got run if 5 or 6 starts before the break and looked awesome and getting better by the game. Everyone speaks about the importance of momentum, well we had it and decided not to use it.

26 Jan 2019 13:42:41
AurthurD, agree on Tav as captain. and said so earlier. Slightly concerned Gerard and McAllister appeared slightly shell shocked after Kilmarnock preparation, tactics and performance. Have no doubt SG will get right this time, really need run of 8 or 9 games now.

25 Jan 2019 17:30:11
I all I'm saying is 2 superstars started for us, one scored a tap in the other didn't light the place up. Rangers try to get past a team with everyone back, we lose ball one man scores because we have centre backs with no pace. We are fighting for 2nd place be realistic. Livingston next, hows Worrell and granddad Macauley going to cope. False dawns. i'm getting fed upPedro Warburton were hopeless but I accepted that. Now we listen to SG . Cone on we can't beat the sheep, Hibs, Killie, livi. Great signings hahaha. More money wasted. You can't win if you don't know what your best team is! I don't and SG doesn't know.

25 Jan 2019 21:49:23
Aye good one macrae take a breath imposter, nice try.

26 Jan 2019 12:01:19
The fact is we have lost or dropped
Points to near all teams, in the, league manager keeps saying
He takes the blame
We keep running up debts and the
Still has no clue, how we can stop
The treble treble.

25 Jan 2019 16:57:21
Not seen Stevie G's latest presser but if the media is anything to go by with Goldson out for Sunday I think the signs are it will be Mculey&Worrall again. Nightmare! If Worrall has to play (don'think the clown should myself) play him with Katic. At least he has more pace than McAuley&Worrall wins his battles in the air which will be needed vs. Livi. and offers a goal threat at set pieces. Also Stevie G recognise your mistake-restore McCrorie and Candeias, revert to 4-3-2-1&put Defoe&Davis on the bench giving them sub appearances to build their match fitness. You tried fixing what wasn't broka so get back to what works for these players, eh.

25 Jan 2019 21:28:30
McAuley is just as bad as Worrall.

26 Jan 2019 10:16:17
So sign high earners not happy on the bench, to put them on the bench being high earners, makes total sense.

26 Jan 2019 11:28:26
They need to be on the bench because they are not match fit. They never should have started I can't understand why they did. They weren't even inline to start against Cowdenbeath.

26 Jan 2019 15:30:47
That rhymed! lol.

25 Jan 2019 15:46:28
Why did Tav come out with that "one more slip statement? "All it does is give media and opposing fans a chance to bring it up when next we draw or get beat and ask him if that's the league gone? just looks stupid whatever he answers at that time I wish they'd think before putting out these articles.

25 Jan 2019 15:55:41
He is only saying what he is thinking. His limitations as club captain and spokesperson are not his fault.

25 Jan 2019 16:00:41
Spot on Bankie.

25 Jan 2019 18:20:59
He’s never a captain,

26 Jan 2019 00:07:36
To the Tav haters! In all honesty he's been one of our most consistent performers over the past few seasons and yes he gets suspect with his defensive play but when we actually think of it it's because we've had crap centre backs! This season with Gouldson playing ( and his numerous partners ) he has been more solid in my opinion but still has the threat going forward!

The manager sets a team out to play and whatever manager it has been will know Tav is one of our best offensive players and will more than probably push him forward hoping the centre backs will cover over or the defensive midfielder!

I for one think Tav is a massive player for us and even in defeat he's always one of our stand out players wither you want to find someone to blame or not!

26 Jan 2019 08:28:51
Blackwoodbear

Are you not being a bit dramatic? Tav haters? Doubt very much anyone hates him maybe they just don’t rate him and are giving their opinion. Just because you don’t rate a player doesn’t mean you hate him.

26 Jan 2019 10:12:26
Correct bankie, Tav is limited in many areas. His press conference showed no drive or leadership.

26 Jan 2019 12:36:48
Don’t get me wrong Tav has been great for us and should be first name on the team sheet. I actually feel sorry for him as not only does he lack the leadership skills to be captain but the responsibility is probably having a negative impact on his game.

25 Jan 2019 15:21:18
Just a thought lads, what's the feelings about Jones joining us after the other nights fiasco anyone not keen on him coming to us now.

25 Jan 2019 15:40:08
Is it not usually me that does the fishing lol 🎣.

25 Jan 2019 15:45:48
Jones in my opinion will need to learn to change his game as he will have less space to run into in a rangers shirt. Imagine laying Hamilton at home and the game being played in their half when they park the bus like most teams. jones will need to learn to play with his back to goal sometimes. I really hope he does. Mick O’Halloran was an example of a player who couldn’t.

25 Jan 2019 15:49:14
Why would we not be keen? He's a good player and after all he's still a Kilmarnock player did you expect him to ease off and not try his best against us just because he's signed a pre contract well let me say if he hadn't tried against us then I wouldn't have been keen on him coming because that would have shown him up as an unprofessional waster who I for one wouldn't want near our club would we really want someone who would just down tools?

at the end of the day we as fans love our club but Kilmarnock still pay his wages for the time being but it will be interesting next season as we'll be overloaded with wingers in the shape of Candeias, Murphy, Middleton, Jones and Kent if we can sort a loan extension out with Liverpool it'll be interesting to see who plays most next season.

Ps. SG really needs to concentrate on the Defence and a goal scorer in the summer window as there'll be no excuse if we don't win the title next season.

25 Jan 2019 16:36:35
Good post tommy.

25 Jan 2019 17:32:41
The fact he scored against his future employers is a good sign, he has bottle.

26 Jan 2019 10:13:27
Tommy j, u are correct for next season, at least one ch for starting eleven and a right back, also feel we need something else wide right
Obviously if Morelos goes at least another twenty five goal a season man
We should also be seeking to extend Mcgregor contract.

Marcus Rashford

25 Jan 2019 14:28:12
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new player profile about, Marcus Rashford

25 Jan 2019 14:06:12
Been absolutely that sick after the result I have kept away from all the media etc. From a team who pumped the Tim's and a great training week we got what we deserved the other night. We all need get behind the team and hopefully they will raise their game on Sunday😀 let's hope so guys🇬🇧.

25 Jan 2019 18:58:09
good post yately take the slap on the face and move on to next three points the mhanks will drop more points so upwards and onwards.

26 Jan 2019 10:18:11
Let's not forget guys, they also lost down there earlier in the season. It is the hardest away game next to breeze block boulevard imo. We accept it and move on. I'd drop Worral mind ypu. Hope Goldson if fit.

25 Jan 2019 13:30:14
I don’t get why we loan at McCrorie then buy a keeper from the English non leagues.

25 Jan 2019 13:57:00
When I saw the English keepers face I thought he was signing for the under 12s. Did we not have a keeper on trial from an American team?

25 Jan 2019 14:06:19
It actually all makes sense. We want McCrorie playing games to help him improve and we need a 3rd keeper. Marinovic might not have been happy to be 3rd choice and neither would Wes.

25 Jan 2019 15:45:18
Seems strange however I’d not be surprised if Fods leaves next week. McCrorie needs first team experience and will be one for the future here.

26 Jan 2019 10:14:33
Jmaster correct re mccrorie needs experience also manager saying we are still interested in signing NZ goalkeeper.
End of road for Alnwick and fod.

25 Jan 2019 09:58:42
Looking at the league table, we've lost the same number of games (4) as celtic and Kilmarnock, but we have drawn too many - 6 compared to celtic (3) and Killie (5). Only the unwashed have a better goal difference and we are significantly ahead of Killie and the Sheep in GD. So my point is the league is really open this with only 3 points separating the top 4. February will be crucial with the unwashed away to Killie and Hearts while we play St Mirren, St Johnstone, Hamilton and Dundee, 3 of them at home. Away to the Sheep will be a real test.

25 Jan 2019 10:49:55
3 points is 3 points regardless who's playing who. The players know what's at stake, one game at a time and nothing but a win will do.

25 Jan 2019 11:21:56
Happy days, finally somebody that can see the bigger picture. Far too many react game by game rather than look at the bigger picture. Long way too go.

25 Jan 2019 11:53:44
the problem with the games up until the split is we have 7 away games compared to Tic who have 7 home

at home celtic look dominant and we cannot win away from home. Sadly this looks like costing us title as i think we will drop too many points before split.

25 Jan 2019 12:00:03
Bigger picture?
For those of us who obviously lack the cognitive capacity to see this, can you explain please?
Is it the following-
Having a dire away record?
Not being able to beat a 10 man Dundee side?
Filling the team with loan players?
Having so many players over 30 in the team?
Dropping form players?
Changing a winning formula?
No plan B?
I could go on.
So, my good man, please explain what the 'bigger picture' is?

25 Jan 2019 15:05:04
Great post SLK. SG is being judged on his player career. I don't really care about it to be honest but I do care about his management career. He's not ready for a job like Rangers. Chopping and changing and buying players who were great maybe 10 years ago. It's not the way forward. He has no clue about tactics or how to change a game. If we have any chance of winning the league get Stevie Clarke in now before he goes down south.

25 Jan 2019 16:11:03
think clark will be at celtic in the future.

25 Jan 2019 21:30:54
Jbf500

Wish you wouldn’t call them the tic makes you sound like one of them.

I see you’ve gone on to list some of our short comings this season. Most of the things you list are matter of opinion, but that’s good, it’s all about opinions.

My turn to list

1. Qualified for Europe
2. Held our own in EL group stages, punched above our weight (you’re dreaming of the past if you think otherwise) .
3. Managed to beat Celtic for the first time in since returning to the Premiership.
4. Still only 3 points behind the leaders in a very competitive league this season (3 points between 1st and 4th in late January) .

As you can see, I’ve stated facts, not opinion like many of your points.

This is Gerrards first season In charge with a brand new team. Surely you realised there would be a few bumps in the road? There will be a few more to come I’m sure.

Thats the bigger picture ‘my good man’.

26 Jan 2019 08:35:58
bearmode

We have only won 4 out of 11 away games in the league. We have a vastly superior budget to Aberdeen yet we have already lost twice to them and only managed 1 goal in 3 games, can’t beat Kilmarnock in the league having spent far more money than them. Can’t beat a truly awful Hibs side. Yes the performances in Europe were far better than we all anticipated but I think we would need to see how we get on in Europe next season to see how much progress has been made that is assuming we qualify.

26 Jan 2019 09:40:28
Ha! Are you for real?
Ok, let me try to be as clear as possible so that even you can understand.
Dire away record - FACT
Not being able to beat a 10 man Dundee side - FACT
Too many loan players - FACT
Too many players over the age of 30 - FACT
Dropping form players- FACT
Changing a winning formula - FACT
No plan B - FACT
Can't beat Aberdeen - FACT
These are not my opinions, Einstein. It might be hard for your delicate wee disposition to take, but it's all real. If you can differentiate between facts and opinions, then it's back to school for you.

26 Jan 2019 11:36:36
Il only going to pick one of your points as I don’t have the time in my life to continue like this. Like banging my head against a brick wall.

‘Too many players over 30’ is a fact is it?

So who decides how many players over 30’is too much?

That’s an OPINION.

I hope that 73 in your yseename doesn’t stand for your birth year. Frightening.

26 Jan 2019 13:18:07
Arthur.

As always I respect you’re opinion mate, we don’t akways agree but you make good points again. I agree that our performances again the sheep and hibs were below par definitely! (Bar the first game of the season, only one team looked like they had 10 men in that game and it wasn’t us! ) . We NEED to beat them in the game coming up soon, it’s a must win, they’ve been a bogey team this year in the sense we’ve ran all over the top of them and not finished them off in any game yet.

Hibs I suppose was poor finishing, didn’t help that Morelos got himself suspended for the two games prior to playing hibs and lost his sharpness. I’m sure that’s why the manager has brought Defoe in, does basically hee haw all game but if he gets a half chance he makes it count more often than not.

Just to clarify, I’m not saying results/ performance like Wed are acceptable, they’re not - I’m just not losing the head just yet. A long way to go.

25 Jan 2019 09:24:14
I see a lot of comments about poor formation or poor pitch or boys not trying in last game and am not agreeing or disagreeing in a sense. But watching the game you can’t tell me at the start up to about 10-15mins we looked really good and I thought we were going to put a few past them. Passing was slick ball retention was good. Then we had a slip up and it seemed to spread through out the team. Like they noticed they were on an artificial pitch and it was bothering them, even though am sure they have one at the Hummel. Anyway. First 10-15. Gerrard had the tactics correct, but when heads went down he couldn’t seem to motivate from the side. Then we had half time, and I don’t know if you guys noticed but at start of the season we always seemed to come out after half time like a team reborn. Hunting and winning, we don’t have that atm for some reason. I think it’s wrong to blame a pitch personally, although I don’t think they should be in top flight football I do understand the need for them. I think his tactics were working but a mistake threw the team and he couldn’t fix it. His subs were reactive rather than proactive. Which for a rangers manager is not what’s expected. But am behind the manager, he needs seasons, am behind the team (bar Worrell. He can go home, £12million?!? ) .

25 Jan 2019 10:30:01
said in the live chat, the reason we started so well was we caught Killie out by setting up different to what they expected. Clarke theb adapted to match us and we then didn't do anything different. Lack on plan B or flexibility.

25 Jan 2019 11:04:22
Spot on comment Fintytint, we started well and never recovered from the poor goal.

25 Jan 2019 11:56:00
fintytint its been story of the season regarding subs

doesnt seem like he knows who and when to make changes. as you say reactive instead of proactive

always seems to make strange subs at strange times, also when we are behind i want more from a manager than jsut standing with hands in his pockets looking around like he isn't sure what to do.

25 Jan 2019 08:58:56
Bear
What I see as an obligation is - the team putting all their energy into winning not making excuses.
( all the time the same rhetoric) we had a great meeting, what happened at the meetings before that one? Where they not great? I don’t mind debating with fellow supporters ( it’s healthy) but I draw the line at snide remarks and Arguments, in my view that’s playing into the hands of the tic’s who come on this site.

25 Jan 2019 07:44:43
I felt the change of formation didn't help Arfield who I believe is better at the tip of the diamond out of the options we have at present and although Kent had a good game he is a winger and not the player to play at the top of the diamond. I think SG has some difficult decisions to make around personnel and formations. You play the diamond and I think you lose something from Kent and Arfield plus you don't get the pressing game as you have Defoe playing and Candeas as the winger is sacrificed.

If you go with 4-3-3 like old firm game with Mccorie in instead of Davis you get the pressing game but you lose a goal threat and Defoe and Davis on bench unless both play and Morelos is dropped. Can Morelos play out wide on the right? My feeling is probably not because would he cross for Defoe in the middle?

Lots of tough decisions ahead for SG that he needs to figure out quickly!

25 Jan 2019 09:23:30
I completely agree! We tried to change formation earlier in the season and it did not work, we perform much better with 3 in the middle and 2 wingers. For me Defoe should be used as a sub brought on for the last 30mins to kill games off or try and turn a game around. Also I am pleased to see Davis back but MrCrorie has proved over the last few games that he is vital to our midfield and allows Jack/ Arfield to play.

I am just hoping we don't have them on 'if fit we play' deals, if so then we may not have seen the end of this formation.

25 Jan 2019 07:36:00
If you look at the top four teams in the league what's the difference between us and Celtic, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen for me it's consistancy of the team and manager. A lot of the other teams players have played the last few seasons together under the same manager. Aberdeen and Kilmarnock have good managers who's teams are well drilled. Celtic obviously have had the money to buy better quality and a manager who has been able to build solid foundations for the last few years with us making many bad decisions in managers and transfers.

This is not an excuse because I do think we shouldn't have dropped so many points away from home this season however I hope the penny has dropped for SG unlike it did for stubborn Warburton and his no plan B or hopeless Pedro and he needs to play a team away from home that can first and foremost win the battle. We were out thought against Kilmarnock we didn't press them like we did Celtic in fact they pressed our defence and it looked like how Boyata was against us.

I see the press and some fans on here quick to criticise Defoe and Davis. It's only one game and I believe both will come good.

25 Jan 2019 10:24:13
BRW11

Signing Defoe and Davis is not the way ahead both are past it and having only a limited time left. McAuley should be nowhere near us at 39 and it’s not good that he plays in front of Katic. Worrall is awful and won’t be here next year so why are we wasting with him someone like Halkett would be a much better proposition. For me we have fallen into the same trap as trying to stop Celtic winning the league immediately rather than trying to build. Of the 11 who started on Wednesday 5 were either on loan or nearly 40. There is a good chance none of these players will be there next season so where does that leave us?

25 Jan 2019 11:15:13
How can you say Celtic have had the money to buy better quality? we have spent more than them, they only brought Edouard in as they were able to sell Armstrong.

25 Jan 2019 07:15:12
I think (just to sicken certain people) that Rangers fans should start a campaign to have our war titles/ cups recognised by the authorities. Since others are I don't see it being much of a problem pmsl.
