Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

25 Feb 2020 23:35:41
I said last week I thought both games would be 2.2 and we would go through on pens. I'm still convinced we can go there and score 2 goals which I think would be enough.

25 Feb 2020 23:31:33
Sorry guys about my last post about whether morelos should be dropped for tomorrow game. Was early morning when i posted that. what i meant to write was does anyone think morelos should be dropped as in permanently and put on as a sub if needed and kamberi put in his place. no need for the people who posted thinking i was dumb. all rangers fans at the end of the day. you know who you are.

26 Feb 2020 01:24:29
Morelos dropped permanently! He is the best striker we have he is top scorer he may have lost a bit of form but he still does a great job up front for the team if he wasn’t suspended he would have played his hold up play is priceless to the way we play he bullies defences he is a nightmare to mark creating space for others without him we would have been out by now.

26 Feb 2020 02:27:18
Iggle, morelos is currently under a 1 match ban, so won't be on the teamsheets, mate.

26 Feb 2020 06:38:22
On current form yes but he will play against hearts due to kamberi being cup tied and hopefully he regains his best form, we need a top form Morelos.

26 Feb 2020 07:21:08
I would say no, he is in a lean spell but every striker goes through that. His work rate is still excellent and he causes defences any amount of trouble and he's guaranteed to get chances in every game.

26 Feb 2020 07:34:03
Iglgle we all make wee mistakes.

26 Feb 2020 08:19:47
I love Morelos as much as anyone, but, he's just not scoring at present, and, let's be honest that's what we need from him, the stupid 1 up front is crippling Morelos and putting unnecessary pressure on the rest of the squad, that's the only tweak we need as far as I'm concerned to get him firing again.

25 Feb 2020 23:14:10
Score prediction for Wednesday folks?

26 Feb 2020 00:12:00
Braga will come right at us and try to get a couple goals having said that I'm predicting a 1-1 draw but we need to be better defensively and get them on the counter hopefully.

26 Feb 2020 06:27:19
1 each.

26 Feb 2020 06:39:15
Nervy 1-1 and through, arfield tap in from hagi assist on the counter.

26 Feb 2020 08:14:37
2-2, I think there will be plenty goals as neither team defending well just now. Worried about it being 2-1 Braga and we get pumped out on away goals.

26 Feb 2020 09:43:12
4-1 braga unfortunately.

26 Feb 2020 10:56:53
Braga were poor at the back, I think playing away from home suits us against them, I think we can catch them out at times it’s whether we take our chances or not when they come.

26 Feb 2020 15:43:22
I think with a more composed finisher in Kamberi in attack we might just take the chances we get tonight and kill this tie.
It’s then up to the defenders to do their job. 👍.

25 Feb 2020 23:10:30
Ok tomorrow night we need to show the football world that WE know how to park the bus too, and strike on the break. We have a chance, a difficult challenge, but we CAN do it.

25 Feb 2020 20:56:13
LETS DO THIS RANGERS AND GERRARD

We need all. players to step up their game and be counted from back to forward No. good having the likes of seven players playing out their skins and the other few letting the team down

Get into them like your life depends on it!

Exceptional defending and clinical finishing required against this team

IN GERRARD WE TRUST.

25 Feb 2020 20:17:59
Whether we like it or not Mr Gerrard is here for the foreseeable future. Does anyone seriously think we can afford to sack him? Seriously! Like some others have said we cannot compete on a level playing field with them atm due to finances - highlighted with "fringe" players getting done by thistle today
Ross Wilson I hope you are having late nights trying to sort the recruitment for next season as this season it's been poor in general.
Cup maybe a possibility as it's these are one-off games and hopefully a Europa run but they way we are inconsistent just now, this seems less certain
Maybe we need another sport psychologist or motivational speaker in to try boosting confidence, Ant Middleton was good when we seen him.

25 Feb 2020 21:02:23
I would love Ant Middleton to be a motivational speaker for the Rangers team
It can go a long way I've read both of his books and these are feel good factors Also puts into perspective that those players are not in the firing line and are being paid handsome amounts of wages! Some of them need a proper kick up the butt!

25 Feb 2020 22:22:01
Motivational speaker! That’s the job of the manager, he simply tells them get out there and do everything you can to win this game or you will not be wearing the great blue jersey of Glasgow Rangers again! Motivational speech done and dusted. PS let me and the supporters down again and you will be out of a job.

25 Feb 2020 18:35:35
Just heard a Gerrard naysayer Gary on clyde SSB. Heard the script before every night on here was it swagman?

25 Feb 2020 20:30:10
Nope not me, clearly someone else with eyesight.

25 Feb 2020 17:38:59
Liverpool have won the Champions League twice in the last few years without being champions of England. Maybe an omen!

25 Feb 2020 17:11:56
Here’s a wee test lads - find me a Celtic fan who isn’t finding this hilarious and isn’t desperate for us to keep Stevie G. When the enemy are backing your manager you know he’s murder.

25 Feb 2020 17:55:15
We all know what is murder, swagman, and it's your hysterical, nonsensical posts all full of hate for the team I support and you so obviously despise.

25 Feb 2020 17:59:15
You're murder, gee it a rest pal, its boring reading the same old thing from you all the time! You've had your fun, so move on for god's sake!

25 Feb 2020 18:03:46
Same as we all said Lennon was rangers best signing
We all thought it was hilariously embarrassing, knee jerk reaction even Tim fans thoughts the same
Let’s hope SG works out
You need to get a grip this never ending tirade is way way beyond the realms of reality
If you think we’ve not improved your deluded.

25 Feb 2020 18:13:26
Swagman I couldn’t care less what any Celtic fan thinks of us.

25 Feb 2020 18:22:20
You’ve got it totally the wrong way round there mate. I’m the only one out of the lot of you who loves the club, the rest of you love the manager.

Blue blue sea - last season we finished 9 points behind Celtic. We’re not any closer. Those are the FACTS. Not some subjective opinion on what player is better than another. Explain how that is improvement using only FACTS please.

25 Feb 2020 18:24:56
Lads, I’ll be here after every poor result until we get a proper manager. You’ll all come over to my way of thinking eventually. And I actually think we’ll beat Braga tomorrow purely because they are so open at the back that we’ll get chances, so don’t be using that to make out he’s Klopp. It’ll be back to normal service against Hearts.

25 Feb 2020 18:50:40
Again deluded and by the way you’re right we finished 9 behind but the fatal flaw in your argument season still going at moment so how do you know we won’t improve we might win Scottish cup as usual you’re hatred is clouding judgement
I’ve never know as so called fan to be so negative about the team you purport to support more than the rest of us
You need a night off mate.

25 Feb 2020 19:07:32
How do I know we won’t improve? I’ve been watching without blinkers the last two seasons. 😂

Don’t hate anyone mate, life’s too short. Just know an out of his depth charlatan when I see one. 👍.

25 Feb 2020 20:24:13
Listen

Swagman is not having a hatred to the club well I don't think so anyway

He’s peed off with the current results like the rest of us and know a bit where he is coming from I have many friends from the dark side infactt some of my best friends are from the dark side and all I get is text after text

The RAnGERS ARE COMiNG with big laughing emojis

After reeling them before winter break we wee going to win the league hands down lol

So yeah I can see where he’s Coming from pure frustration and end of day of you live in the gold fish bowl of glasgow and being brought up Rangers or Celtic doesn’t matter most roc the time about Europe
It’s mainly down to getting the better of our biggest rivals and winning the league and being called champions that matters and right now it ain’t happening and not happened. For past 8 years going on 9

For the love of god whether it’s gerrard or not we need to win league next season and wipe that grin and smirks off there faces once and for all

If swagman doesn’t like gerrard it’s person choice and opinion and right now with the league most likely lost there’s not much to argue in facts that we’re still no better off than last season
And come next season we definitely need to take a big stride forward once again
But it could be down to finances and who we can get and who we can’t and who they across the city can bring in to an already successful team

I would be more pleased if the squad was fighting right up to the last game than losing it in February and I’m sure everyone would agree on that players have let him down big time but he also has put his hands up at times and rightly so
If here next year he also needs to take a big stride forward in getting tactics spot on throughout a season where you really can’t afford to drop points as they across the city won’t be just like they haven’t been doing for past 8 seasons 👍.

25 Feb 2020 20:28:11
Also terrible result for our fringe players getting beat 2/ 1 off Patrick so much for trying to fight for your place lads 😳.

25 Feb 2020 20:30:39
Swagman your wrong about us beating Braga nice dream but based on what I saw in Glasgow there ain’t a cats chance in hell of that happening. Hope I’m wrong but I always tell it as it is no blinkers. Insofar as Gerrard is concerned it’s a tough one he has been great for the club but at the same time his inexperience has been there for all to see. Is he the right man for next season not an easy answer in some ways yes in other ways no but I think he will still be the manager next season so time will tell. Really depends on how much money there is, where it’s coming from and has he learned from his mistakes that’s still up for debate.

25 Feb 2020 20:42:36
Can't see us going through unfortunately, we just can't seem to string together a few decent performances, I'm on the fence with sg but I do agree that some people seem to give sg a easier ride because of who he is.

25 Feb 2020 21:17:31
Glad to see some other folk commenting who haven’t been brainwashed or drank the kool aid!

I don’t dislike Gerrard. I just don’t think he’s capable. I don’t hate my dog because he can’t ride a bike. But I wouldn’t sign him up for the Tour De France.

25 Feb 2020 22:34:15
Nothing wrong with thewagsmans views, he's entitled to them, same as the rest of us. He could maybe change the record occasionally though. We get it you don't rate the manager.

25 Feb 2020 22:39:05
Mind that time you laughed when Lennon was appointed, and told the world Gerrard was the man to claim 55😂 Lennon will claim 55 before another rangers captain lifts another trophy. Quadruple treble, just for another record, hail hail.

25 Feb 2020 22:43:09
Swags, we will finish with more points in SPL than we did last year. 64 points just now and finished with 78 last year. 27 points to play for so we will definitely eclips last year. there's your improvement!

Problem is that Celtic have improved as well. 87 points last year and 76 already with 24 points to play for so they will eclipse last years total also.

If Rangers don't get more points than last year i will be the first to come back on here and bow to you superior knowledge swags but we all know that it won't come to that.

25 Feb 2020 22:51:12
Thestign1, we all know theswagman doesn't think sg is the man for rangers fc, its the constent slaughtering of sg that annoys me, theswagman needs to change the record, he never says anything at all only about sg, i thought this was a banter site, not a slag steven gerrard non stop site.

25 Feb 2020 23:06:34
Wow, we might be a whole 3 or 4 points better off. I’ll reward with a slow, sarcastic hand clap 👏

That’s the difference of a lucky deflection or a bad miss here or there.

25 Feb 2020 23:33:59
heres a curveball for tomorrow night. ojo with his pace can get in behind the braga high line, there pushed up to the halfway line most of the time. only thing is we need a midfielder that can play a forward pass instead of sideways and backwards

i know i know ojo but he's the only one i can see that's got the pace to trouble them.

25 Feb 2020 23:37:18
One things for sure Swagman, you get us talking on this site and that helps to keep it online.

You do seem to go over the top with your continued lambasting of Stevie tho when you are well aware he was an experimental signing and is still learning the Scottish game.
No point in laying all the blame on Stevie, the board accepted and authorised his signing.

Granted he does not seem to be learning fast enough for a lot of our supporters including yourself tho.

A lot of your opinions will make sense to some on here swags.
In my opinion you should not make your hostile feelings towards our manager feel like they should be accepted by us.

I have given my opinion on Stevie loads o times on here saying no silver in next 2 years and he will go on his own accord a broken and disheartened man.

All this is just MY opinions mate.

Cheers mate we know you are a dedicated supporter of our RANGERS FC.

26 Feb 2020 00:02:19
Theswagmann, it would be crazy to enter the dog in the toure de france, especially if he can't even go a bike, can't you teach him, it wouldn't take youse long, just like your putting gerrard right, eh.

25 Feb 2020 17:02:43
All I heard last year was sign Kent and 7m later he is under performing amongst plenty others. Now I’m hearing sign Kamberi after only a few games. He is standing out amongst this group of bottlers just now but let’s stop jumping to sign anyone who gives more than 75%. I am fearing our future financially the way we are going.

25 Feb 2020 19:03:16
Kent was great last season. Mediocre this season so far.

How many other young players have we seen repeat this pattern?

I would expect Kent to be back to his best next year.

25 Feb 2020 19:41:07
Kent isn't the only player underperforming. Some of the senior pros should be taking a long hard look in the mirror first. 👍.

25 Feb 2020 20:36:50
No time for under performers especially ones that are being paid a fortune to perform and supporters are spending hard earned cash to support their fantasy lifestyle it’s just not on. When I played football I gave my all and I wasn’t paid to do it. Let’s stop mollycoddling these players and move them on.

25 Feb 2020 15:36:45
I hope kelly, kennedy and paterson get a proper chance next year.

wdw.

25 Feb 2020 16:29:15
Well right now none of them are ready, but here's hoping.

25 Feb 2020 16:56:09
If good enough they will get their chance.

25 Feb 2020 17:07:44
I think Kelly is ready to become involved. Best player in reserves is maxwell.

25 Feb 2020 17:28:06
If Gerrard is still manager they will be punted out on loan like the rest of the Scottish guys.

25 Feb 2020 17:33:12
So when do some of these youngsters get a chance. You say they are not ready Covenanter but this is what I've been hearing since the days of McCoist in 2012/ 13. If he had given youth a chance when we were dumped down to the Division 3 then the team would have come through and by the time they'd reached the top tier again would have been magnificent. Sick to death of hearing same old. So the current team are 'ready' are they?

25 Feb 2020 17:54:51
The youngsters would have done better than some of the dross Gerrard has signed. You can’t tell me the two young fullbacks wouldn’t have done better than Flanagan.

25 Feb 2020 18:06:04
Nothing to do with McCoist or historical problems, doiger. These kids have only been in the new regime for less than two years and maybe one or two will make it to the first team by next season.
Your rantings about what happened years ago are meaningless in this context. And the current team are getting there without the added burden of trying to protect wee boys who are not ready and whose careers could be blighted by putting them in too early.
As I've said before, one in a thousand of these kids will be a Barry Ferguson, one in 100 will be a Hutton, one in 50 will be a Maurice Ross. You just don't get it, what it takes to make it to the very top of professional football, to be capable of playing on a European stage, to be able to keep that level for 12 or more years. It seldom comes quickly and it seldom comes easy.
I see our youngsters quite often, and I'm telling you the only ones who are anywhere close are the ones who went to Dubai, Kennedy, Paterson etc - and just recently Patterson was ripped apart by a 17 year old in a youth tournament.

25 Feb 2020 18:27:46
Cheese oh wagsman have you actually watched the two young fullback you think would do better than Flannigan, can you even tell me their names.

25 Feb 2020 20:31:45
Yes I can and yes I have. If you watched all our first team games this year like I have you would have seen them both play in Dubai and you would have seen Patterson play against Stranraer and look far better than Flanagan has looked in any game this season.

25 Feb 2020 20:40:03
Who was the last player to figure regularity in the first team that came through our own youth system?

25 Feb 2020 21:27:33
Muppet, for 6 years we had no youth system worth talking about. Now we're steadily getting there but it's still not enough for the professional moaners and naysayers on here.

25 Feb 2020 22:56:10
The muppet, mcgregor.

25 Feb 2020 15:03:25
The fact of the matter is that we are 2nd best in Scotland.
Yes we have had success against them recently but we are still long way short over the course of the season.

Apart from Barasic, i don't think anyone of ours would get in their 1st 11 and that includes Geegs.

If anyone thinks otherwise then you are just kidding yourself.

25 Feb 2020 16:31:28
Aye, you're right and we're all kidding ourselves. Have an aspirin.

25 Feb 2020 17:17:58
Got to agree slim Jim

As why would they put any of our players in a winning team at the minute
There blowing teams away and we’re struggling

The Covenanter who would you think would make there 1st 11 right now?

Like a say they have found a winning formula just now can’t see how any of our squad would make them any better
With the facts of it - were drawing against Sri Johnston beaten off hearts, drawing with Aberdeen And Killie

There team knows how to go out and win games when it matters and win the trophy’s unfortunately right now ours don’t just saying.

25 Feb 2020 17:49:11
Sorry added Killie in under the draw with Aberdeen
Meant we were also beat by Killie

But point was yeah can’t see how any of our squad would make there 1st 11

Same when we were winning 1st half of season I wouldn’t have taken any of there’s

Difference is now there players can see it through full season and ours can’t

Anyway depressing discussion

Hopefully we can get a result tomorrow and atleast make it through to next round in Europe would be nice 👍.

25 Feb 2020 18:02:07
Sweep 1, Gerrard will still be rangers manager for next season mate! There's not a shred of doubt about that pal!

25 Feb 2020 20:44:37
There is an element of doubt about that, if he is not given sufficient transfer money he would be crazy to stay and the question remains where is the cash coming from other than the sale of Morelos so there is doubt but odds are he will still be there.

25 Feb 2020 14:46:04
Great atmosphere in Porto, roll on the match tomorrow RTID.

25 Feb 2020 17:21:15
Safe trip to all supporters travelling to Braga. Despite the gloom of last 48 hours we are supporters of the Glasgow Rangers. Enjoy the game and represent the club with pride.

25 Feb 2020 13:27:40
Reading all the keep him sack him posts. Now I'm 50/ 50 as he has improved us but winning nothing means nothing. Wee question for all yous saying keep steve. What shall you think if he decides to walk? Shall you say ok steve thanks for your efforts or shall you be angry if he leaves on his own accord.

25 Feb 2020 13:45:44
He’s just signed a new contract why would he walk? You say winning nothing means nothing until he can match Celtic in the transfers it will be hard and that goes for anyone I remember the bad old days when 13000 was attending games tee were finishing forth in the league out of cups then Souness came in huge budget bought the likes of woods Butcher the two Stevens from Everton and the likes and won the league problem here is we can’t outspend Celtic they have a much stronger squad we need to be patient.

25 Feb 2020 13:46:29
if he leaves then he leaves a failure and any club wo wants his services would have to buy out his contract. so that may well be the best case scenario for the anti stevie posters---and he won't walk--its not in his dna.

25 Feb 2020 13:50:01
Vote one Fauldhoose,

Yes thanks for your efforts Stevie, the club is the only cause for blame.

Next headache " who do we hire now? ".

25 Feb 2020 14:44:40
He leaves a failure? does he we are in a far better place now than when he came in but to expect him on the budget he had to build a team in two years is asking a lot we will get there but it’s time and money right now we don’t have it so bringing in a new manager will do nothing in fact we will go backwards any money we have must be spent on the team not on compensation.

25 Feb 2020 15:16:22
its ll about trophies----and if he leaves with no trophies then he is a failure in his first managerial position---no one remembers a team of failures no matter how much improvement has been made---the Europa league even if we go out tomorrow will be a success money wise---but that's where it ends----if you take the champions league away from celtic that's a huge win win ---that's what we have to strive for.

25 Feb 2020 15:30:23
Hes actual got a worse win rate than caixinha who most couldn't wait to get rid of. Weve got better players, who on our day can compete with anyone. don't want rid of him, but kinda asking myself if we've really improved as much as some think.

25 Feb 2020 17:08:36
Does he really have a worse win rate than Pedro? Can’t wait to hear his fanboys explain that one 😂😂😂

He may walk as his reputation is still reasonably intact but if he is the manager that oversees Celtic winning 10 in a row his chances of ever managing Liverpool are done.

25 Feb 2020 18:18:15
Pedro had win rate of 51.85%, SG 61.11%. Plus SG figure is over longer period.

25 Feb 2020 19:56:25
Domestically I believe, saw it on one of the other rsngers pages I follow. Like I said I'm not one of the out brigade and totally believe he's just about earned another year. If it was a lesser name tho, just say csixinha in charge just now, do you think he would get the same amount of support? Just an honest question.

26 Feb 2020 00:17:44
Bizzmybrox, yip sg has done a few million percent better than pedro, the money we have earned from this seasons euro cup, plus more, will be given to gerrard to improve the team,

25 Feb 2020 13:23:30
there is no replacement for the boss --end of story. the financial feedback would be immense and put as back years. we don't have the time. i'm in the frame of mind that the league is gone but miracles happen and we badly need a team or 2 to step up---unfortunately I don't see anyone in the spl capable of doing that ---morelos gone in summer and a clearout of dross with some class coming in---F*** there 9 in a row --4 of them we were in the toilet and rebuilding for another 2--next year SG will get it right --of that i'm positive. there are tons of strikers who bring the same to the table as the petulant one ---maybe kanberi is just that one.

25 Feb 2020 13:34:57
We need our own team to step up in the league.

25 Feb 2020 14:02:52
yes we do ---.

25 Feb 2020 13:16:22
It is not the current manager's fault that the board wasted years and a whole pot of money on two useless managers, one 'temporary' useless manager and Ally McCoist. That's about 7 years of total mismanagement, corruption, fraud and lies we accumulated and had to fix and that will take even more time.
Our real revival started just 20 months ago and while it is two steps forward and one back, it is still the best position we've been in for years and therefore I am backing the manager.

Them getting 9 in a row means nothing to me, I'd rather we took time and hard work to make sure we always have a Rangers to support for generations to come, a Rangers that for the next 150 years will compete at the very top.
As disappointing as it is to us just now, there are people going way over the top about stopping the other mob doing this and that, and the truth is I don't give a monkey's what they do. I'd love to see some trophies, but I'm also old enough to remember us winning just 4 titles in 22 years, 10 years without a Scottish Cup, one League Cup in ten years, and still I followed on without getting into the state some of our fans are in right now.

I've learned about patience and building and the joy of glory when it comes. I was born a Rangers supporter and I will die a Rangers supporter but the one thing I want to see before that happens is a stabilised Rangers, a winning Rangers that those who come after us can be proud of and support and nurture.
We as current fans have essentially been unlucky that our time has included such turmoil, making it easy for the mhankies, but we have gone for long periods without silverware before. Our time to come good is fast approaching, I look forward to it. - ALWAYS.

25 Feb 2020 13:51:22
The Covenanter great post, best I’ve read here in weeks. Agree totally with u and stand alongside you.

25 Feb 2020 14:08:39
Excellent post.

25 Feb 2020 17:03:17
Great post Covenanter, you are clearly a true supporter of our club. Wise words.

25 Feb 2020 18:43:46
Best post I, ve seen in a long time, people have got to realise how hard a task Steve G has got to win the League. He needs time and help to build a Team that will win the title. I am 3rd generation Rangers supporter and have followed my Team for over 50 year. I was at Ibrox when 4000 watched us get hammered 4-1 by Dundee Utd and we were 4th in League. Need to support the Board, Manger, Team and we will be the People again!

26 Feb 2020 00:22:59
Thecovnator, good post mate, i'm getting on a bit in years myself, and like yourself i'm just glad we are still here as a team, if celtic and others had there way we would be, no more.

25 Feb 2020 12:14:44
Anyone think morelos should be dropped for tomorrows game? I've been saying it for weeks now he doesn't deserve to be 1st pick anymore. before the break i'd have laughed at anyone saying morelos shouldn't be in the team.

but now he's just not wanting it anymore. somethings happened in between us beating celtic and him coming back after his suspension. wether it be the lambo crap or something with someone at rangers but definitely his hearts not there anymore and i feel we need to drop him if we want to win anything this season. just my opinion so don't jump down my throat please.

Obviously somethings not right. no way we can go from battering celtic that much we made them look like a sunday team to drawing against st johnstone. at first even i though was a dip in form. but its just about march and this dip is still going. now i don't give a sh@t what or who the problem is. but whatever it is then that problem needs to be removed. couldn't care less if its gerrard that's been a d#ck to someone and everyones hating on him. send him back to liverpool.

Or maybe its morelos being a moaner. could be anything. just saying that problem needs solved and if removing that problem from rangers fc is the only way forward then so be it. i'd rather be 12 points behind celtic with a team actually bursting their asses than being 12 points behind these mhanky soap dodgers with a team who try and defend a 2 1 lead against the mighty st johnstone. before xmas we would've showed them no mercy and kept going for 4 5 6 goals.

After the braga comeback i thought surely this must give us some confidence and happiness back. but yet again. Piss poor defence. piss poor midfield and up until kamberi came on piss poor forwards. if we play like that tomorrow weer getting beat and not just by the 1 goal.

Although mathematically not impossible to win league i feel its already done with.12 points is a long gap to claw back and we need to rely on other teams aswell. if and when they do get the 9.next season they are going to throw everything at getting 10iar. and there's only 1 team in scotland that can stop that. and that's rangers. so we also need to throw everything we've got at stopping that.

What we need to ask ourselves is. is gerrard as a manager the man to do that. I've always stuck up for gerrard but stopping them getting 10 must be our goal. and to be honest i don't think gerrards the answer. he's had 2 seasons to show us what he can do. Yes he's pulled us out the gutter. yes he's brought us players in because of who he is but let's face is.

does anyone trust gerrard as the one who can stop 10? Sorry but i don't. and i don't know who to replace him before anyone asks all i know is we need to throw everything including the kitchen sink at next season. i think next season is the most important and most serious season rangers will ever have. stopping them get the 10. by all means possible it simply cannot happen.

Sorry for the long post.

25 Feb 2020 12:38:38
He's banned iggle.

25 Feb 2020 12:41:29
Think you'll find Alfie's suspended the morrow maate.

25 Feb 2020 12:44:33
Are you at the wind up?
Morelos is suspended. 👍.

25 Feb 2020 12:45:45
Apart from being banned iggle I feel he is so desperate to score he is just blasting the ball at the net and not slipping his shots past the goalies just now.

He will get back on form no doubt about that as his career depends on it.
Same goes for Stevies career.

25 Feb 2020 12:48:08
He is suspended mate.

25 Feb 2020 12:51:47
Morelos is suspended for the Braga game.
Yes I still trust SG.

25 Feb 2020 12:54:13
Morelos is suspended again tomorrow anyway so Kamberi starts. In relation to your post, it appears there are some fans who, for whatever reason are willing to accept that mob getting to 10 in a row to persevere with the SG project. As you say, this is nearly March, this surely just can't be a dip in form - what dip in form and lack of urgency and effort lasts 2 months?, what if we play like this until the end of season? Accepting Celtic getting to 10 in a row, for me is unfathomable and unacceptable folks - just imagine the smug look on Brown's and Lennon's faces when they lift that league trophy again next season. I for one, just couldn't bear that. To those who argue we weren't there for 4 of them, the history books won't have a caveat stating that - they will show Celtic as champions. If SG can show flexibility in formation etc and a willing to give his entire squad a chance then maybe, just maybe we have a chance but he's relying on the same players/ tactics that have failed since January and everyone has worked out. Celtic went away and worked on a new formation during the break and look at them now compared with us.

25 Feb 2020 13:36:30
Hi SirStruth,

Yes many of us have already conceeded them will get 10 iar as it looks like the financial burden we have is holding us back, apart from any real determination we have been seeing from our players at present.

Yes them maybe will make history wi their ten, but let's take some consolation in the fact they have already made world football history by being booted out of the champions league TWICE IN THE SAME SEASON within a few weeks of each competition at that.

25 Feb 2020 13:52:03
Iglesias long post about a guy who is suspended.

25 Feb 2020 16:12:45
Better not tell Slim Jim that you didn't know Morelos was suspended, god almighty lol.

25 Feb 2020 11:41:09
So why do I want gerrard to stay? Ok let’s see, we aren’t relying on Celtic to beat Aberdeen instead of throwing the last match so we finish third 🤔 We aren’t getting gubbed by Celtic in the old firm matches, we beat them at Celtic park and we destroyed them in that cup final to lose to referees, we are comfortably 2nd and looking towards champions league in a couple of seasons due to Gerrard raising our co efficient in Europe and whose better to lead us in Europe in the champions league? We are not having a spat with a manager standing in a bush cause we got beat by progress nierdorken we actually faced them again and showed comfortably how much we have improved. We were in a top of the spl dogfight and kept pace with a Celtic team that’s doing way better than last season domestically, we’ve proven we’re almost there on all fronts . Our back four is cheaper than one Celtic defender Julian at 7 million, and up until v st Johnstone both defences had conceded 17 goals, Gerrard’s gave us value for money defensively of that there is no doubt, we’re close, Gerrard’s stated he is disappointed with our last defensive showing so he ain’t exactly hiding or unaware when things go wrong and That’s coming from a man that took the flack off the players already by saying he will take the blame for them hoping they would’ve pull their fkn socks up but didn’t, I say these players goto Braga get the result then put hearts to bed 🛏 for themselves, forget fan pressure, do u want it for yourselves? Anyway I’m right behind Gerrard, he’s doing brilliant, I don’t have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to how bad we were before he arrived 🤔.

25 Feb 2020 12:15:56
Well put Gaz. I literally have nothing to add. You are spot on mate.

25 Feb 2020 12:23:32
GazAlly - great post of course we have improved only a blind man couldn’t see it but finances dictate they have a far stronger squad because they have had years of champions league money to build it we haven’t, fans then demand silverware within two years or we sack the manager it’s crazy, the problem is these same fans have been on here shouting about 55 how we were going to win the league now they don’t like the taste of humble pie well I didn’t expect to win the league that would have been a bonus, I admit after Celtic Park I thought we had a chance but in the end the squad is just not strong enough we lack leaders on the park and they don’t come cheap, when things are not going right we go inside our shells no Goughs or Butchers then players like Kent and Morelos get abused on here waste of money not trying it’s crazy sometimes form leaves them and lack of confidence appears and points are dropped but to just sack the manager every two years if no silverware is won is pain daft okay years ago when we were cash rich but now we’re not we are behind Celtic as much as that pains me but now is the time to stand together and keep building.

25 Feb 2020 13:34:39
Gaz and twacoos well said sirs.

25 Feb 2020 14:51:32
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Superb gaz and very well put! Nothing i'm really thinking about adding to that, because you've covered it all and exactly my thinking also pal! Twacoos, another superb post by you also mate! Totally in tandem with both you guys! 👏👍.

25 Feb 2020 09:48:58
Here is the last Rangers squad to be selected before Gerrard became manager versus the latest squad selected under Gerrard:

Alnwick - McGregor
Tav - Tav
Bates - Goldson
Martin - Katic
Halliday - Halliday
Rossiter - Jack
Holt - Aribo
Goss - Arfield
Candeias - Hagi
Cummings - Morelos
Murphy - Kent

Hodson - Edmundson
Alves - Davis
Windass - Barker
Kelly - Foderingham
Docherty - Stewart
Herrera - Ojo
O'Halloran - Kamberi

Its difficult when you see the names next to each other to argue that we haven't improved the quality of our team. I know what team i'd rather watch. In Gerrard I trust.

25 Feb 2020 10:24:24
Jack and Morelos were both at the club already so you could swap them out for Rossiter and Cummings. Martin was terrible but not sure Bates was any worse than the current two middens. McGregor and Arfield were already in the bag before Gerrard was appointed so you could add them to the team as well. And Murphy by all accounts is in far better form than Kent at the moment!

The best players in the second lineup all preceded Gerrard, bar Aribo who the jury is still out on due to inconsistency, Kent who looks a massive waste of £7m, and Hagi who is currently only on loan.

25 Feb 2020 10:44:35
Wagsman read the post. Last team before Gerrard got job as opposed to Sunday’s team.
So why start swapping people out.
It’s a factual post naming to teams that played.

25 Feb 2020 10:54:05
Thanks john25 it is a factual post and theswagman stating that McGregor and Arfield were already in the bag is ridiculous. Do you not think swagman that Gerrard gave the green light for them to be signed? My opinion would be that he did. Gerrard was announced as manager long before he actually arrived. He had an obligation to see the season out with his work as Liverpool youth coach.

Choose any lineup from the 17/ 18 season and compare it to the squad against St Johnstone which doesn't include Barisic and Helander and I would suggest that it would be of less quality than that of Sunday.

We are moving forward, not without challenges and slip ups but we are. C'mon the gers.

25 Feb 2020 11:19:49
MOCBear and John25, totally agree, we have moved forward, who would have picked different teams since January to those picked by Gerrard, the players have to take responsibility for these poor results. Morelos, for all the goals he has scored is a petulant boy, and his tantrums leading suspensions cost us this season, as, he was vital to us maintaining a title push this season, you're only as good as your last game, and, this is where SG has let himself down, as I posted yesterday, he has to start being ruthless to some of these highly (possibly overpaid) individuals. Katic, I feel should be played tomorrow evening, as to drop him now again would shatter his confidence, he didn't deserve to be dropped when he was originally, so, let's give him a break, I know I said after Sunday, 'Don't mention Katic and Goldson to me', but I've mellowed since that.

25 Feb 2020 11:43:44
Bates is better than Goldson or Katic?
Now I know you’re at the wind up Swagman! 😂🤣😂🤣😂.

25 Feb 2020 11:52:18
Just for clarity Swagman. Steven Gerrard was announced as Rangers manager on 4th May 18. Scott Arfield signed for Rangers on 14th May 18. Alan McGregor signed for Rangers on 16th May 18. Most definitely signed with SG's blessing!

25 Feb 2020 12:19:10
Gerrard already stated publicly at that time he was addressed on the possibility of signing Alan mcgregor and Arfield and if he wanted them, he said definitely and that he’s always admired mcgregor as a top goalie etc he gave the green light to sign them, u can’t tel me that mcgregor isn’t an improvement on Foderingham who is about 10 ft when standing and 4 ft when he jumps up 🤔😂😆 with Foderingham Celtic we’re going on scoring ten in a game 😆.

25 Feb 2020 12:55:49
Didn't finish reading theswagmans post after the 'ginger Maldini' (bates) being better than goldson or katic🤔.

25 Feb 2020 13:24:47
Still not win anything though.

25 Feb 2020 13:27:37
I didn’t say he was better, said there isn’t much in it. Which is true. He wasn’t great on the ball but could actually defend.

McGregor and Arfield had both agreed contracts before Gerrard came on board. Does “giving them his blessing” make him a managerial genius? Asked if he would like two international players who have played in the top flight in England what’s he going to say, no?

John25 - who made up the rules of this game? I’m not allowed to point out that players in the second lineup were already at the club and therefore nothing to do with him?

Is this the level the Stevie G cult of delusion has gotten to, we’re now pretending he signed players he didn’t? 😂

Enjoy Celtic winning 10 in a row with your Instagram manager lads. You’ll get exactly what you deserve if you continue to back him.

25 Feb 2020 13:56:03
Deals to sign mcgregor and Arfield were in the pipeline before gerrard was confirmed as manager.
However gerrard is on record as saying he was asked about both and said it was a no brainier to get them in.

25 Feb 2020 13:57:39
Wagsman the post is factual mate. Yes you can point out what u wish on here.
Can u remind me where Bates is please.

25 Feb 2020 14:36:12
The deals to sign Mcgregor and Arfield may well have been in the pipeline but the fact is they were not signed until the dates i posted. If Gerrard said he didn't want them then they would not have been signed so there's no argument swag.

25 Feb 2020 17:10:35
Bates signed for Hamburg. Goldson couldn’t get a game for Brighton and Katic was from a Croatian no Mark team.

25 Feb 2020 17:10:39
Moc what you need to remember mate is your facts do not suit some people’s argument on hear.

25 Feb 2020 17:11:03
Delusional minds will say anything to convince themselves they are right. 😂😂😂.

25 Feb 2020 19:58:06
Bates is a big hopeless lump of wood.

26 Feb 2020 00:38:24
Theswagman, i dont think you understand the ops post, or what it is about, the last i heard bates was looking for a club. once the germans noticed there mistake, they drove bates to the airport.

25 Feb 2020 09:46:20
Just thinkin. What's the opinion, if we win our game in hand and beat them twice and lose the league by only 3 points. Would people want Gerrard to stay or go. There's been some crap performances but look where we are now compared to five year ago.

25 Feb 2020 10:01:16
Rossco, Stevie was not here 5 years ago, we were still climbing up the leagues from div one mate.

Also we climbed out of div one with our SPL players versus part time clubs.

No point in looking back now, let's look forward with positive attitudes and a complete new set of players and a trainee manager.

25 Feb 2020 10:25:40
I would only keep him in that circumstance if he has proven he knows more than one formation and can adjust his tactics and has won the Scottish Cup. Otherwise I would have zero faith in him stopping 10.

25 Feb 2020 10:41:19
Swagman, have you seen the slagging you have been getting for wanting Stevie dumped on loads of your posts mate.

I appreciate your opinions and feel like you let down by our teams recent performances.

My opinion still is we cannot afford financially to dump him and believe if he accepts failure with no silver by end next season, he will walk on his own accord.

Leaving us with another headache, " who do we sign as our new manager"

25 Feb 2020 10:46:21
I would keep him no matter what. I’m not one off these guys that back someone till their nose bleeds.

25 Feb 2020 11:24:52
The main problem with us over the past 8 years is the changing of Managers, and needless spending to replace failed purchases, we cannot continue down that route, or we will find ourselves looking into the abyss, with very little hope of recovering second time around. This is why I posted yesterday, that if we get some decent investment, I would like to see some of it used to improve our financial position, and remove some of the panic which must exist at certain stages of funding our needs.

25 Feb 2020 11:41:05
John25, ime with you on this. One mate.

25 Feb 2020 12:20:54
You got it spot on irvger let's hope our support take what you've said on board mate.

25 Feb 2020 13:25:20
We won't beat them twice.

25 Feb 2020 13:29:48
Bluebilly - an experienced manager, that’s who we would appoint.

I don’t care about any pelters I get because I’m right. If the exact same job had been done by for example Derek McInnes - I mean signing the same players, same results in Europe, same results domestically - there is not one person here who wouldn’t be saying what I’m saying.

You’re all just in love with a celebrity manager and it’s actually quite sad to see. Rangers should always be bigger than one man.

25 Feb 2020 15:21:01
An experienced manager? You want Gio! 4 years in Holland, then away chasing the money in China! Not exactly bags of experience! 😂😂😂😂
Plus technically he’s another high profile celebrity manager!
Make your mind up what you want! 🤪.

25 Feb 2020 16:19:21
Your not right theswagman. You've simply stated your opinion and have went off on one when folk on here disagree with you.

25 Feb 2020 08:47:09
Reply to TJBB time will tell if I'm correct on my assumption as to Rangers trying in Europe and chucking the league but your right on one thing Celtic have more financial power that's why we rely on luck at times I just hope the new chairman has a few penny's not a sugar daddy but enough to upgrade the team I would love it if Rangers could make the quarter finals Europe that brings in 20M I've done my research on wins draws qualification and gate money I still believe we can go another round or two in Europe.

25 Feb 2020 10:05:54
Yup, that's all we can do Yass, hope and will our team on to success wherever we play.

25 Feb 2020 10:18:01
Yass, how much do Rangers get for a win? (Braga?

25 Feb 2020 08:20:44
I think thinks fans and the media need to be getting off Gerrard's back Yes we have lost the league, it look promising until after winter break! However, there is still plenty to play for Come back in 3 months time, if we don't win the Scottish Cup then perhaps we can question whether he has come short as a Manager

This is all a bit to premature for my likings

There is some players you have to question whether they have the mental abilities for a team like Rangers

If we were to win the Scottish Cup along with getting to the knockout stages, I would think that was yet again an improved season from Gerrard and his recruitment team

We definitely need to bolster the defensive area, to think this was the strongest part of the team last year what has gone wrong?

25 Feb 2020 09:28:53
You are correct Kaz, but if we lose to Braga then Hearts in the next two games the season is well and truly f****ed!

25 Feb 2020 09:52:42
That again I would have to agree Doiger but this ain't happened YET So until we cross that bridge why does the fans not get behind the Management and Team.

25 Feb 2020 10:27:52
“Get off Gerrard’s back. yes we have lost the league. ”

Words I never thought I would hear a Rangers fan say. It is so, so sad to me how low standards have dropped, the mediocrity so many of us seem prepared to accept.

This is Glasgow Rangers, the most successful football club in the world. You win and that is it. Second might as well be 10th.

25 Feb 2020 11:50:54
Theseagman, we all know we are glasgow rangers pal, we will win the league, be it this year or next, we will get back to winning the league continuisly, but it takes time, we would all have liked to win the league this season, but it looks like we nowmhave to wait to try winning it again next season, what's hard about that, the ammount of money celtic have earned when we were coming back up the leagues, celtic should have been years and years and years in front of us, i think we are closer than i expected, so be patient, mate.

25 Feb 2020 13:30:49
Can’t be patient when progress is not being made. We have repeated the exact same mistakes as last season despite the manager having spent 11 or 12 million this year.
