Great news one away today, I would ask all Rangers fans to keep going don't be sidetracked by whatever this lot do, they simply cannot be trusted proxy proxy proxy those votes. Message to Dave King there must be no deals done with this lot or at least till everything is checked out, we can see the finishing line but need to remember we are dealing with a multi millionaire who has us by the short and curliest at the moment Follow Follow!

New Year Bells had been ringing,
All of Scotland was singing,
The old year had died,
And the new had been born.
As the news of disaster
From Ibrox came spreading,
The news that would cause
A whole nation to mourn

Two great goals had been scored,
In the last dying moments.
Jimmy Johnson for Celtic,
For Rangers’ young Stein.
Their supporters all cheered them,
With voices of thunder,
Unknowing what waited on staircase 13

66 people died
Some in flower of their manhood,
When the fences gave way
And the barriers bent,
Seasoned Glasgow policemen their faces all tearstained,
With brave efforts, endeavoured far worse to prevent.
All of Glasgow enjoined,
For the first time in history.
In the Glasgow cathedral no Billy’s, no Dan’s
But the Old Firm united to pray for their victims,
Of a tragedy set in the memory of man.

New Year Bells had been ringing,
All of Scotland was singing,
The old year had died,
And the new had been born.
As the news of disaster
From Ibrox came spreading,
The news that would cause
A whole nation to mourn.

This what it is all about!
Good Night God Bless!

On the manager situation rates dougie freedman as a tremendous, young coach and would be an outstanding choice as the next rangers manager if it did happen, I have my favourites on who I want as our next manager but I also have a very open mind on it, I'm prepared to give anyone that gets this amazing job a fair chance and will correctly judge them on results, I remember when big alex mcleish got the rangers manager's job and a lot of rangers fans didn't want him and just look at the job he did for us and

Ed, the top part of my post should read mark guidi said on tonight's radio clyde phone in that he rates dougie freedman very highly as a coach!

dont quite follow the new format Ed, e.g why is there not a "reply to above post " box below all posts? but only on some?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed033's Note - nothing has changed from before. For the last couple of years we've had a button that reads, Reply To Above Post.

The Reply button is replying to the entire thread, i.e. original post and replies.

If the button just said 'Reply' then people have in the past picked any Reply button and replied to the wrong thread.

Maybe the button should be Reply to above thread but is everyone going to know what a thread is? Not everyone is.

maybe the button should read Reply To Above Posts or Reply To Above Post and Replies.

the next rangers managerial appoinment will be the most important ever in the history of the club we cannot make any rash moves I think the candidates should be s macoll d macinnes alex neil arthur numan and darren ferguson with assistants coming from neil macann davie weir barry ferguson and ian murray I would not consider under any circumstances terry butcher billy davis steven pressley dougie freedman

I think the alex Neil ship has sailed.for all that mocked my touting of him I think what he's done at Norwich for me is not surprising.artur Newman again is untested however I would have him and Jorge Albertz as coaches to either derek mcinnes(first choice) or stuart mccall(second choice).i think one name that hasn't been mentioned a lot is big eck.i think he is worth considering.or do we think out the box with someone Ian cathro.like you said it's going to take any new manager at least 1or 2 seasons to sort out what super salary left and we as fans MUST be patient with whoever comes in

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Feb 2015 21:03:38
No chance of Alex Neil how mental are people on here an dougie freedman would be great choice but won't come either we have no chance of getting a manager in a job already

25 Feb 2015 21:10:12
Bigcol 1872, very good post and I totally agree that we as rangers fans MUST be patient and give time to whoever is appointed the next rangers manager and back the guy to the hilt because its a big rebuilding job from top to bottom that's most definitely needed here, so all the very best of luck to whoever our new manager is and let's all get behind him the traditional rangers way!

The SFA are going to appeal Simonsen's suspension - too lenient they say. You could not make this up. It turns out that he had placed 55 bets over the period of a year at an average of £3.67 / bet?
I think he should be sent to jail for that amount!

The question is will Sandy Easdale go?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

25 Feb 2015 18:12:08
I think he must, he will probably stay as long as he has too, I must say if James is telling the truth and he really hasn't earned a penny from Rangers then my opinion of him will change slightly, not a lot, but a bit, he seems to be doing this for the right reasons, Now him and his brother should jump ship and do as much for the 3B and DK as possible, that would save his reputation somewhat

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Feb 2015 13:00:38
Or just vote with the 3B would do it.

Superb layout ed, very impressed mate, compliments to you ed!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed033's Note - ok thanks

25 Feb 2015 13:07:44
Ed the blue buttons are a tad overpowering. They are also confusing as to what post it belongs to.

Have Ed033 take a look at The Herald posts and see how they are set out. the buttons are less intrusive.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed033's Note - Thanks for the feedback. i would like the buttons to be less intrusive. Here's my reason for these buttons:

If you visit this site using a device that doesn't use a mouse, then the buttons need to be big enough to tap with a finger. It appears that most of the people now visiting this site use a device without a mouse.

25 Feb 2015 13:42:24
I like the way the new site works and looks. As you say Ed, I'm always on the site using my mobile and it is far easier to negotiate now.

Think the page layout is great,

Agree5 Disagree0

25 Feb 2015 14:31:44
I don't like the new layout. The Ed's comments on a post appear to be at the top of the NEXT reply, not with the one he's commenting on.

We don't need voting buttons for banter.

It's not clear who's nickname is against which post, it could be a title, doesn't look like a sig.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed033's Note - The eds comments are in the same position as before. The nick name is in the same position as before.

Originally we had agree/disagree buttons on the banter page but removed them and then people moaned when they were removed. They should only appear if you're logged in. i'm thinking that if people are logged in more of them will prefer the agree/disagree buttons than not. I can remove them if most people don't want them. i was thinking we could add an agree with Ed button at some point.

In the future, we maybe able to have logged in visitors the ability to switch the agree/disagree buttons off so they don't show.

26 Feb 2015 13:06:16
I realise things are in the same position, but the styles have changed, and visually this makes the name of the poster look more like a divider between posts. This means when an Ed replies, it looks like it's in the post afterwards.

Also, because the Agree/Disagree buttons don't have any division from the next post afterwards, visually they look like they are for the pos6t afterwards, not the post before. (I do web design and UI optimisation for a living)

I think if you made some sort of separator between the Agree/Disagree buttons and the start of the next reply, and reduced the size/boldness of the poster's name line that would help a lot.

Using the media screen-size targeted css would allow you to have chunky buttons for small screens, and smaller ones for larger screens. Might help.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed033's Note - Thanks for your feedback. There is a separator / dividing line between each thread, it's a box around each thread. Every other thread has a slight colour background change. i will probably make changes to the current look over time anyway.

How about you mocking up something you think would look great and if i think it looks better than what we have currently, i'll implement some or all of it?

26 Feb 2015 20:18:23
Ed o33 I think the new set up looks fine mate, maybe people will take a couple of posts to get used to it, but me personally, I've no problem at with it, well done ed for trying to make changes, I also agree with the agree or disagree button, before you put them back up everybody thought they (themselfs ) were right, as they had no disagrees, lol, well done ed.

really don't want an ex rangers player as manager they are all in the same mould as ally next to no training and golf on wednesdays we need a young vibrant man with a fresh outlook to the game to take us into the future

25 Feb 2015 13:40:55
Went down that road few years ago zodiac had one of the best young managers in europe le guen. Players turned against him because he challenged their training and fitness. I agree with you a manager with no connection to us but has to be given total control over team.
