Hi all you bears, watching the youth cup final tonight and the boy mcpake is far superior to Middleton imo. Has skill speed and dsnt seem to be a one trick pony. What do you guys think.

25 Apr 2019 22:04:51
Josh mcpake does look a cracking prospect for the future mate. But I feel its a bit premature to making a statement saying mcpake is already far superior to glen middleton. In my assessment, middleton is a fair bit better than mcpake just now, in my eyes anyway!

25 Apr 2019 22:17:17
Was impressed with boy Mcpake but boys problem is we are overrun with wingers.

25 Apr 2019 22:24:55
A bit harsh to judge Middleton on what we’ve saw.

25 Apr 2019 22:42:06
B3rtie, far to early to tell but he looks more mobile and fades past players. Comparisons aren't helpful as only time will tell. Tonight he showed why he was the Young player of the Year, though.

25 Apr 2019 23:05:44
I was very impressed with all of them, both sides. I just hope all those boys progress, again both sides. There was some real talent on show, and am sure many will get a shot to train with the first team at the start of preseason.

25 Apr 2019 23:07:34
Well done the youngsters.

26 Apr 2019 06:21:59
Am I right in saying Josh McPake won our young player of the year?

We’ll surely see him get a run out at Killie last game of the season.

26 Apr 2019 07:16:59
Mcpake was good in game playing against other 16 17 18 year olds.
Let’s not over rush these lads although future looks good
There is a group in th e reserves ahead of youths ie
Mccrorie Houston rudden Kelly Atakayi and shiels.

26 Apr 2019 09:23:42
Academy player of year
Kent won young player of year.

26 Apr 2019 17:35:27
Far superior maybe a bit strong but far better prospect imo. As daisy yore says the way he glides past players as if they not there. Yes he is only 17/ 18 but is Middleton not the same age and I really dnt see Middleton doing much more in the rangers 1st team. He is far to predictable if you ask me. Mcpake is like Kent I think in the way he plays and seems well built physically Aswell. But as some have said time will tell and no point expecting to much to soon.

25 Apr 2019 17:56:31
Sky Sports News reporting that James Tavernier has been abused online by an internet troll and that issue is being investigated by Police Scotland - name, shame and punish severely.

Coins thrown at him, fans attacking him and now this - is this because he is the Rangers Captain?

James Tavernier is a quiet, modest and totally reliable human being who just happens to play for the biggest team in Scotland. He is the captain of Rangers FC and is the perfect gentleman on and off the park, He is not abusive; He is not outspoken; He does antagonise other supporters. He is what a captain should be - honest and hardworking with no hint of controversy on or off the park.

I believe Jake Hastie will step up to the plate and prove himself as a Ranger. Cooper did it from Clydebank and Laudrop, well he was Laudrop. The two best Rangers players I saw. I hope and trust Gerrard gives Hastie the chance and he's seen as part of the starting 11. A great replacement for Kent who we can't afford.

25 Apr 2019 22:30:50
Laudrop was actually Laudrup.

26 Apr 2019 06:24:14
If he steps up in pre season he can be our right sided forward. The challenge is his.

25 Apr 2019 13:00:11
I think the biggest mistake made by SG this season was dropping katic and breaking up his partnership with goldson. If you look at our form prior to him being dropped, Europe run ect then look at our form since he has returned. I think the big man brings balance to our team, can pass is commanding in the air, can tackle and is threat at set plays.

25 Apr 2019 13:14:08
Not just katic coming back in but also Flanagan. Not Flanagans biggest fan, but form has improved since both returned.

25 Apr 2019 13:16:13
Stewartyblue, yes that partnership was going well, Katic even getting on the scoresheet. The only reason i can think that Katic got dropped for Warrell is that in his contract, Rangers must play him. I certainly won't miss Worrall when he returns to Forest.

25 Apr 2019 13:22:42
Totally agree mate think he's made more mistakes to be honest.

25 Apr 2019 14:03:04
When oneil took over at Forrest, it was reported that he couldn't recall Worrall as he played a certain amount of games.

25 Apr 2019 14:27:47
Katic has come out himself and said the reason he wasn't playing is because of the physical aspect of our league he couldn't handle it, he's been doing weight training to bulk up and get stronger. Says a lot about his character gets dropped despite playing well and gets to work to get himself back into the starting 11. Worrall isn't as good a centre half as Katic but is a lot more physical so that's why he was getting picked ahead of Katic.

25 Apr 2019 14:55:14
personally I feel gerrards biggest mistakes of the season. were not making subbys nearly early enough when going stale. and 1 massive mistake was taking Wallace on to defend last corner at Motherwell.

25 Apr 2019 16:48:55
Worrall has never at any point in the season been a more physical cb than Katic. Katic is by far the most aggressive centre back we have he's the only one you see going and attacking every ball.

25 Apr 2019 22:03:18
I always though re subs gerrard was being reactive rather than proactive. At rangers he needs to proactive with subs.

25 Apr 2019 22:47:57
The manager has had a sterling first season considering what he started with and the state of player morale when he arrived.

26 Apr 2019 21:38:38
Kyle, Katic was dropped for a honking attitude in training trust me.

25 Apr 2019 12:23:09
What do you guys think of the new kits? I think the blue one is the nicest home kit we have had for the last few years. The red one isn't quite sitting right with me.

25 Apr 2019 12:27:20
Black one is smart, think Hummel has got in spot on.

25 Apr 2019 12:34:33
Like the black one.

25 Apr 2019 12:57:15
black and home tops are beauties.

25 Apr 2019 15:19:12
Like the blue home top and black top in particular. The home top is my favourite, always has been, always will be! The new hummel home kit is an absolute beauty! Hummel have again excelled themselves. So glad they're now our kit manufacturers!
Last season's kits and training gear from hummel, were also minted.

25 Apr 2019 16:30:16
Home top and black one are superb. The red one - I'm sorry, but that just looks too much like the sheep's kit.

25 Apr 2019 17:19:15
I think the red one look minted.

25 Apr 2019 18:44:23
Red ones honking
Homes average
3rds a belter.

I'll no be buying a top again untill the badge is stitched on. Fingers crossed it is.

25 Apr 2019 19:10:49
I saw a mock drawing of the home one somewhere and the drawing didn't do the home top any justice. I like the home and the black one personally. I just can't see beyond the Blue home tops, they have always been my favourite. The colour that hummel have used is spot on for me. Not too light like the puma ones.

25 Apr 2019 21:57:30
Hits from the bong it looks like they are embroidered on, when I blow up the picture. Altho the printed ones on this year's wasn't too bad, none of mine have peeled or even come loose.

25 Apr 2019 22:28:14
Black one decent
The other two are honking and Hummel can get
If that’s going to be the standard.

26 Apr 2019 15:43:19
hits-from-the-bong its 100% embroidered, the Hummel badge is still a sticker but our crest is embroidered.

25 Apr 2019 09:27:57
Best of luck to our youths at Hampden tonight. Live on BBC Scotland from 7pm. Looking forward to the match. 🤞🏻🇬🇧.

25 Apr 2019 10:18:59
Can you pay at the gate or is it a closed game?

Anyone?

25 Apr 2019 11:35:42
Closed, family and close friends.

25 Apr 2019 14:10:55
Maybe I'm too conservative but already bought two home kits. One that fits me and a larger size for cold days against sheep in Aberdeen.

25 Apr 2019 19:12:07
Millerbrandwilson,
I need two tops as well mate. One for the summer gut and one for the winner blubber. Lol.

Review Of The Day 25th April 2019

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 25th April 2019

25 Apr 2019 00:17:38
At £600,000 - £700,000 I thought John Souttar was a gamble and mibbees not as good as what we have, but he is only 21. However, he is now a Scottish internationalist so is probably valued at £1 million - which in my opinion is too expensive, but he is now being touted at £5 million - is this because derby County have come in with their SKY monies, or does having played for Scotland three times put your value at £5 million?
I have only saw the boy play against Rangers - did nothing, and also against celtic - again did nothing.

Surely there are better and cheaper options out there.

25 Apr 2019 07:02:24
Defo agree NNC, £2M would be my limit however that money would be better spent elsewhere!

25 Apr 2019 07:13:47
Am sure if SG is interested in Souttar he'll have watched him more than twice! No idea if we are interested in the lad. Can't imagine we would spend £5m on him or anybody else.

25 Apr 2019 08:50:13
Completely agree NNC. I sat at work during lunch yesterday looking at the likely departures, those already signed and youths likely to step up. We need to bring in two strikers who are first team ready to work with Defoe if he stays. Also one or two central defenders also first team ready. We must buy better than we have to keep moving forward. Katic and Goldson need a full season together and remain first choice. No way is Souttar worth more than £1m and even then I don’t think he’s any better than what we have, so a no from me.

25 Apr 2019 09:10:33
NNC - Agree totally with your assessment on the boy, Rangers will never pay 5 million for him, far too expensive, l’ve no idea of his worth? Probably what other clubs are prepared to pay, but Hearts are right to get as much as they can, Rangers would.

25 Apr 2019 09:30:10
You’re right Ulsterman. We will need cover but I am also hopeful we’ll see the likes of Barisic, Polster, Grezda step up after pre season and show why The Gaffer wanted them.

25 Apr 2019 09:59:19
I liked Souttar when he was at Dundee United. He's improved at Hearts, judging a player on one or 2 games is as mindless as judging players on Youtube. Katic is the same age and better IMO but as a back up or to help rotate he'd do a job 2m is too much. I thought playing for Scotland would reduce his value no?

25 Apr 2019 10:18:15
Bluepete36 - I was not judging Souttar on two games, I only mentioned that I had saw him playing twice, but against the two best teams in Scotland he failed miserably. I was assessing his valuation based on Scotland's talent and previous sales, and where Hearts are in the league. At £50,000 Kamara was too cheap, but at £5 million Souttar is way too expensive, and as I have stated previously we have just as good if not better at Ibrox.

25 Apr 2019 11:38:37
Not now Cato, kamara was not a 50k signing. We signed him on freedom of contract, we then paid 50k to release him from last five months of his contract. A subtle difference.

25 Apr 2019 11:40:31
Check out Souter’s young brother, much better prospect and he is six foot six tall.

25 Apr 2019 12:28:10
Jboy - really?

25 Apr 2019 13:05:34
You can count on one hand (finger) the number of players playing in Scotland that are worth £1 million, never mind £5 million. As a matter of fact Keiran Tierney springs to mind. Now are some people saying that Souttar is the same quality / standard / price as Tierney - not even close.

25 Apr 2019 13:48:46
We don't have the money to pay £5million for one player.

25 Apr 2019 21:36:10
Just pay the money and buy McKenna - simple.

25 Apr 2019 00:11:45
I hope all fans at Ibrox on Sunday can show some respect and observe a minutes silence. With Aberdeen there, the atmosphere will already be hostile. But as much as I get wound up and caught up in it all, we have a chance to show our good side for once and show some class of our own. I fear the worst but given how revered Billy McNeill, John Greig, Davie Cooper, Fernando Ricksen, Tommy Burns and their ilk are and were, living and passed, it would be heartwarming to see his passing observed with dignity and pride. The world has enough conflict and I really hope we can manage this. I'm sure the Aberdeen contingent will respect their former Manager too. Just a thought from a lifelong bear. Then we go back to concentrating on us and putting in another great performance. Once again, condolences to the McNeill family and the Celtic family who will be hurting. This is beyond football and way more important.

25 Apr 2019 06:32:03
Some things just don't need said Ibrox4me.

25 Apr 2019 07:07:37
Minutes applause better. Same as Celtic r doing.

25 Apr 2019 08:37:33
Defo mins applause pains me to say but there's little chance a silence would be observed and again we would be shown in a bad light atmosphere will be bad enough given our opponents.

25 Apr 2019 09:31:38
Whatever happens, and if it’s applause, let’s fully observe it and forget rivalries for a minute. Let’s return to doing things right and the traditional Rangers way.

25 Apr 2019 11:55:02
Well said Ibrox4me.

25 Apr 2019 16:57:56
Will get respect he deserves from me, a true legend of Scottish football. Anybody around me who disgraces us regarding it will get a slap on the ear. My last home game this season tenerife for 2 weeks after it, over there for old firm 👍.

25 Apr 2019 22:33:58
It should be a minute silence and anyone that does break should not be allowed anywhere near ibrox ever again.
