Rangers to challenge for the league if we go up we need two massive center backs that can play and pass the ball with pace we need a massive target man and nippy technical striker with two feet we need a tricky winger and other as a flying machine all with good delivery.
We need a creative play maker in midfield and two defensive mids and cover in each posistion for players its why I make these posts. I believe in Rangers and believe we can always challenge it just takes patience maybe am spoiled seeing the trebles? Just that we need strength in depth to dream that dream again.
Celtic got about three teams not saying we should match them but least have cover for every player rotation system worked for Advocat big names may not come to have that star draw but use the budget on signing good players work with them bring them on and sell to English championship teams who build there team this way from back to front.

Was meaning a striker that can use both dare I say like Gritthias or Rhodes even Riordan when he played you get a monster center forward flicking them on to a nippy guy with that ability he will get over twenty a season. And before anybody starts I know Rhodes is out our price range.

The initial euphoria is over after a great start but we're still top of the league. I couldn't care less about the cups this season as long as we win the league and go up as champions. I think Danny Wilson has been a big disappointment after all the hype. The edge seems to have gone from Halliday and Tavernier in recent games but you can't be outstanding in every game.
I've said before that I'd like to see Walsh, Hardie and Murdoch given a proper chance. Murdoch did well towards the end of last season and looked good. We need a good centre back, strong defensive midfielder and an out and out goalscorer. Also, what happened to Gasparatto?

I cannot believe people come on here and say they don't care about the cups! Maybe you aren't aware but the club desperately needs money and a good cup run always helps. Are you also saying that your not that bothered about losing in the cups? Sorry but as a Rangers fan I don't want us to lose any games and to me it would be great if we could win the Scottish cup and get back into Europe next season.

Biffo, most people are realistic and accept that we are not good enough to win one of the major cup competitions. Getting far in either is seen as a bonus. I doubt if any Rangers fan wants to lose any games, some people just know the limitations of the team.

To an extent I do agree however in very recent history smaller teams have done well in the cup competitions. Do you think the Falkirk team of last season was better than the current Rangers side? Let's face it they weren't yet they got to the Scottish cup final and nearly won it. There are a lot of better teams than us however with decent draws and a bit of luck you never know.

I think he means the league is more important than the cup, anyway I would love a run in the Scottish cup but not at the expense of it causing slip ups in the championship, Rangers will win this league by at least 10/15 points of that I'm really confident.

I take the point about the cups. I'm not saying they are not important it is just that this season of all seasons if push comes to shove the league must come first. If we win the Scottish Cup too that would be great but I don't think we will. We will win the league though and the Hibs game at Ibrox on 28th December is crucial in that regard.
