You might be right OP but we don't have any money.
This up coming AGM is a numbers game which seems to have now swung decisively in the favour of the current board. You change things by constructive or destructive action. The majority of Rangers fans are wary or worse of the current fans groups which is a sentiment I share particularly after the then leader of the Supporters Assembly stated 1 week before Shyte put the club into administration that "the majority of fans still backed Shyte"- eh no we didn't.
Destructive action is understandable and I have absolute sympathy with that approach- staying away from games and starving them of money and support. However constructive action would probably get the fans what they want without harming our club.
If you cast your mind back to Manchester where our numbers (top guesstimate) were 200,000 that is more than either Easdale or McColl can muster.
You can understand Mr McColl's reluctance not to give Messers Green, Ahmed, Easdale and Stockbridge money for making a £14.4 million loss in 13 months.
They could buy the shares from the Laxey mob but choose not to- and that's fine.
Other individual fans don't have the money these guys have and individually we cannot "save the club"
Collectively- yes we can. It's not my idea one of these supporters groups already has a scheme imaginatively called "Buy Rangers".
200,000 x £50= £10million. Your'e not going to tell me that Laxey or Credit Suisse or whoever have the game changing shares block would say no to a quick profit.

We cannot afford £50- fair point but if we went with the destructive action for one home game or away game we would save the £50 for the constructive action.

Now our support has more splinters than a hundred @rses that have sat on a fence for a month- isn't it time to take one positive collective action or is it easier to say "It will never work" "ridiculous post" "get a grip ya roaster".
Yes that's easier but for fecks sake bears we might be approaching the end end game soon

Just thinking out loud bears- and again it ain't my idea it is one that is currently available to all of us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why don't you use the £10 million raised from the supporters and approach BDO to save the oldco by paying all the creditors? Surely the fans donating would support the oldco in a heart beat. Resubmit to the sfa for the original license and put the conmen at the helm of the newco out the game?
Restart in the bottom division with a sensible business plan- along the same lines as Gretna used (buy the best players from the league you are playing in, and add some of the best young Scottish talent available) work your way through the leagues and build a decent young squad that would have 3-4 years first team experience and possibly a decent sell on value.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - oldco has no stadium, or players etc etc, remember assets and goodwill has already been sold)

@2 Thanks for the contribution mate. As the Ed says that ship has sailed. Your other point about a team of youngsters - would have been good yes 100% agree with that.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 There was a share issue infact two share issues both of which failed to attract these 200,000 I doubt they are goint to turn up now

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 Sadly I think you are correct. It is much easier to moan than do something positive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I appreciate that but what use would a stadium be to these charlatans when nobody goes to see the newco?
Ibrox only has a value to a football team, the location has no great value in terms of selling for housing nor for selling to a supermarket chain- too much competion already in the vicinity.
Goodwill? Surely more goodwill would come from paying off the creditors?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Then they would sell it to the highest bidder who would not necessarily be the owners of the old VAT registration number, this is a silly conversation)

Gers fans should be very careful with this present board, 'cos they're enlisting new members far too quickly for my liking. I detect by employing this tactic, they're trying to be strong in numbers, thereby creating confusion, prior to any takeover at the AGM. The reason for this is because, in my opinion, they have something alarming to hide from within, especially, from the fans, plus the fact there is easy monies to be had at the club, while it's in turmoil. I'm a shareholder, who believes it's now time to wipe the slate clean. Start afresh. Paul Murray with Jim McColl on board, forgive the pun, would be an ideal way to start anew.

Geo - have you received the notice for the AGM yet, with the resolutions that will be put to the vote (the postman doesn't reach me here)

the reason I ask is that I don't think McColl was ever going to put himself up for election to the board, if I remember the requisition for the egm and the court case for the agm

regarding the new additions, it was totally unacceptable to have only two directors running the company, especially when one of them was stockbridge,

I don't think we can doubt the credentials of Wallace and somers and I would be surprised if there wasn't some agreement between the larger shareholders before they were appointed so I expect them to be re-elected

I still can't buy it that the shareholders who have bought shares at and since the IPO, (remember 22m was raised then and many millions more have been traded since), have done this only to run the company into the ground, it makes no sense, even sandy easdale has spent a few million on his own shares, has he really done that only to make the company fail?

I am sure someone will explain it all to me

I haven't received anything yet. Everyone seems to have an opinion of who should be running our great club, and i'm only expressing my views also. I believe that some have been buying up shares because they know bluenoses will eventually pay for them. Paul Murray did promise the fans that he would never give up in his quest to find out whatever happened to the missing monies and who it really is, that has been running the club from within, in secrecy. Something is wrong at the core that needs to be rooted out. I hope my thoughts are wrong. watp.

RiFC (copmany) now owns TRFC (club). Club owes £14m (as made loss) and this loan came from RiFC (from £22m)

only things to cover this are assets, so RIFC can own assets, and loan from club - and therefore can kill club any day it wishes.

Noone (gers fans) wants second admin or liquidation. so will pay whatever to keep club running, and this will mean 20-30% return for RIFC. but will mean (club) has high debts and no investment (from spivs) for players.

Good news. is you don't need to spend much to win scottish leauges, yet we still spent £14m??

go figure JG.

Geo the Ger,
In my opinion, Rangers were a ''dripping roast'' and an easy target for being plundered. If a football licence was not available the original assets purchased would have shown them a healthy profit when sold.
However, getting the licence enabled them[ Green&co. ] to rob our club.
You must remember that some of the original investors probably did invest in good faith and are being tarred by the con men.
Any hopes that Murray's mob can do anything are gone and the continual disruptions will eventually destroy us.
The original takeover, and Duff and Phelps' involvement, must be questioned. Also, the share purchase and subsequent use of the funds raised needs clarification.
JG is correct, money is not invested to throw it away, but just as it says an investment.
Finally, in the accounts the loss was ridiculous but that was their rip-off.
The state of the the company is still sound and with the raising of cash will, if managed correctly, be a viable concern.
We must go with the majority shareholding and continue to follow our team.
