Great to see who's possibly going but if we can't shift them were left with them, and we can't bring others in till they go, I reckon a few will dig there heels in cause if the wages.

24 May 2017 20:13:15
Have ny eyes deceived me? Or has Halliday finally been told to leave? Amazing! I thought he was going to avoid the cull

24 May 2017 21:08:17
Depends what paper you read

25 May 2017 14:53:45
The Record wants him to stay but is punting all the half decent players, (even though Rangers have stated categorically that some of these players will stay) . Anyone that believes the Record is living in cloud cuckoo land.

25 May 2017 20:58:40
Heard that Halliday is on 2k a week! If true then if he doesn't go and by that I mean no one comes in for him I think I would rather have him around than pay him off. No point shelling out tens of thousands to get rid of a player who unfortunately does want to play for the badge 100% but is sadly not good enough. Hopefully a Bradford or someone will come and take him and even then might need a very small payoff

Just wondered if anybody remembers the 1967-68 season where we remained undefeated in the league until the very last day.

I heard my dad talking about it years ago and if I remember correctly Rangers were only beaten by Aberdeen in the closing minutes of the final game of the season.

A brilliant achievement all the same at a time when Scottish football was on a high.

24 May 2017 13:00:41
whats your point?

24 May 2017 13:23:16
Don't know what his point is but I'd make a point. At that time Celtic were obviously in the ascendancy but Rangers too had a very, very good team which in another era would have done the 9-in-a-row themselves. For Glasgow to have two teams in the finals of the two big European competitions in 1967 was amazing and we went on to win our European trophy in 1972.

24 May 2017 14:02:50
I will make another point . it will never be repeated

24 May 2017 15:18:24
Rangers may have only been beaten once but they drew 5 times and Celtic still won the league?

24 May 2017 15:52:52
My memories are that we had the jitters. We drew with Morton 3-3 and to crown it all our goal keeper against Aberdeen was Gerhard Neef who had a stinker and we lost 3-2.

24 May 2017 19:34:20
ekgers your memory is spot on was at the game neef had a howler. We drew too many games that year.

25 May 2017 00:04:04
Real memory lane stuff here tonight. My memory of that squad was that we had 3 goalkeepers none of whom inspired great confidence: Billy Ritchie, Norrie Martin and Gerry Neef.

25 May 2017 09:40:39
Cheers guys. I was only a kid at the time and not yet going to games but I suspect that that Rangers team would have possessed much more talent than the current unbeaten Celtic team.

25 May 2017 13:22:43
Very good Naz pity they couldn't have managed the whole season must have bottled it in the last game. Did you go unbeaten in the cups that season too?

25 May 2017 13:28:50
graham he is just wondering u know people are allowed to ask questions if u don't want to know about it don't reply, no need for the what your point statement .

and naz i remember the last time celtic went undefeated in the league they lost the league by something like 12/ 15 points to us but they had about 13 draws or something ridiculous like that

26 May 2017 11:40:19
Davie White was the manager and I remember him being interviewed after the last game when we lost to the sheep. He was shocked at the pelters he and the players received from the fans at the final whistle.

24 May 2017 12:08:35
Nothing NEW about us.

25 May 2017 13:29:23
is that a statement or a question joscro?

24 May 2017 06:40:21
Daily record printing that we are to off load 11 players with a list being circulated in England. I am surprised Tav is in the list however he has some value and PC must have a decent replacement in mind. The othe 10 are free to go and will not be missed. There must be a typo though as Halliday is not on it

24 May 2017 07:57:56
Cannot believe the useless Halliday isn't being given a free as well. Also a bit surprised that Crooks is being made available too thought he at least deserved a chance

24 May 2017 10:00:27
Good to see revolution not evolution from Pedro - just what is needed. Struggling to understand why Halliday is not on list- unless he is already sold?
Hope the wage thieves do the decent thing and go quietly. If it was down to meet I would also take our kit off them. they should NEVER be allowed to wear our colours again!

24 May 2017 12:59:59
The Daily Record know nothing and are just fishing, making up stories to sell news papers. Don't believe their rubbish. In fact extend that to any tabloid.

24 May 2017 19:23:18
There is no way Pedro has 11 replacements lined up. Its another mess on its way. Wait and see.

24 May 2017 21:10:59
Anything to back it up? or just over making stuff up?

25 May 2017 11:57:51
When they got offered to play for rangers by Warburton did you just expect them to say no thanks I'm not good enough to play for them I don't want to make more money aye . you can't blame the players mate blame the guy who signed them and played them all out of position

26 May 2017 10:07:00
PC has said he wants to keep Tav

24 May 2017 03:29:19
Just a thought bears but what if we end up playing tav further up field like a right mid or right wing since he is a much better attacking player than defending and hopefully if hodson becomes injury free stick him in at right backand if not I'm sure Pedro will be able to bring in a player since beermans not been the best of late.

24 May 2017 07:04:56
I fully agree and I've been saying it for a long time and if he could cross he would be a very good winger. Unfortunately as we all know he really can't deliver the ball into the box well from out wide, this could be the reason he's overlooked there. Also while we've been struggling squad wise and in a somewhat experimental stage I think if pc saw it he would have been playing him there the last few weeks while he had a chance to see how he got on.

24 May 2017 08:55:08
Been saying this for ages, offensively his stats are really good. never a defender and i think he would suit a right mid role, more to it than being able to cross balls in which i agree he needs work on but he's fast, has quick feet and can take men on.

24 May 2017 09:57:39
Tavs final ball has been horrendous this season.

24 May 2017 10:02:04
Don't think Hodson's anywhere near good enough, but if we signed Paterson then I'd have him RB and Tav RW, Wallace LB and McKay/ Weiss LW, I think that'd be a good setup.

24 May 2017 20:13:42
Hodson needs to be on the for sale list

25 May 2017 06:28:44
Agreed that beerman has not been the best of late but he plays at left back so how that affects tav I don't know?

25 May 2017 14:26:43
Hodson is a poor player, he is mediocre defensively and adds nothing to the team in attack. If Tavernier is to go I can only assume that we are signing Patterson r bringing in someone else of quality. God help us if Hodson is the level that we are setting our sights on!

24 May 2017 01:55:37
So according to Jackie mcnamara we need to spend big to catch celtic. Which might be true. But let's not forget we beat them last season with the same team barring dembelle and sinclair. So potentially it only takes two good signings to compete? Correct? Also they have big brenda who has also dramatically improved them and next season will be his last at celtic which is surely a guarantee. So are we really that far behind them? Also according to mcnamara celtic didn't disgrase themselves in cl. I'm sorry but if you think of yourselves as World beaters then you should be doing better than bottom of your group and your worst ever defeat (7-0) in European competition. Not too mention red imps. Celtic are a good team in a very poor league. Nothing more. The standard of Scottish football is a disgrace. No wonder the national team is failing.

24 May 2017 05:09:46
No I think Rodgers has also brought the best out in the others too.

I dunno but I think we need 5 or 6 new players, as most of our team is pish.

Sorry for going off topic but folk like Jackie coming out telling us how much money we need to spend annoys me! They would be the first to shout about spending money we don't have if it ended badly. No pleasing some folk lol

24 May 2017 11:50:34
Jackie McNamara! lol thanks for that, we're all so interested in your opinion!

24 May 2017 19:27:57
Dunoonblue insted of spouting a no logic at all arguement Rangers were 39 points behind Celtic. Forget Celtic only having 2 better players its 39 points so think you sre talking absolute nonesense. Who knows if BR will be there for 1 year or 3. Can you stop making up your point of view based on facts rsther than just saying stuff you can't back up.

25 May 2017 07:46:05
39 points is a massive gap and tbh you can't really argue with what McNamara has said. Would any of our current squad even make their bench let alone starting 11. I honestly can't remember the gap being as big and we can't expect to spend some amounts and compete with them

25 May 2017 16:54:01
Dunoon, i admire your optimism. but a few things:

Your team won on pens, not regualtion time, in addition although you had more possession celtic had 3 times as many shots and clear cut chances as your team.

also we did lose 7-0 at the nou camp, PSG lost 6-1, plenty of other teams have been thumped there. we beat yourselves 5-1 twice. now and again the big boys teach the little ones a lesson, just a fact in football.

LRI was a terrible result but considering it was BR first competitive game in charge i wouldn't look too much into it. even though that is your only straw to cling too.

and finally, dembele and sinclair have been excellent signings in iew of this, we also have tierney, armstrong, brown, siminovic, paddy roberts, griff, big boyata who have all seen there stock and value rise drastically, and yes paddy is on loan, but he may very well sign on a permanent deal.

i feel your hurt, but just look at the celebrations of your team and fans when you beat Partick, just sad.
