Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

Is it just me or does it feel like some of the gloom has lifted today, what with the 2 new signings confirmed and the prospect off Charlie having been in Craigs back pocket costing us our playing license seemingly gone too? I really hope the light at the end of the tunnel is not another train. I remain to be convinced around the finances but that can wait for another day. Roll on Sunday and Hibs breaking their Scottish cup duck!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hmmmmm

The signings are pre contracts until September 1. The investigation result is garbage, Greens denials versus no involvement by Whyte/ Early! the lack of cash is a huge problem. No accounts. What's the indebtedness figure? Haemoraging directors. Who owns the assets? Green Ahmad and Stockbridge own the ten profit making limited companies. WAKE UP.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with part your post "come on the Hibees".
What we really need and should always have been vigourous in getting out. was the accounts for last season.
In here we will find exacly how much Green and co have taken out our team this year.
If its anything near what's being stated then we could be looking at issues arising part way through next season.
If they have in any way had to use the share issue money on the day to day running of our club, then that is not acceptable for the division we were in or about to go in.
If we are cash solvent then, show us the masses now? if not we give them nothing in the way of season ticket money and start to look at getting the club out of theirs hands before they take the silver and leave us the fans with debt.
No accounts mean something is wrong no other reason, why do you think they have not sacked Murray yet? or have they. It would mean Walter walking and the season ticket holders not buying. the new players are free transfers that's all, by the time we get to Premier League we will have to be buying rather than getting frees? by then we won't have any money to do it so think future not the now Bears. or groundhog day will be coming back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only trying to lighten the mood! Thanks for your positivity.

Agree0 Disagree0

No1, great to read a positive post from you!. don't you have anything neative to say? BT

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 how can you say the investigation result is garbage? Were u part of the investigation and have seen the full findings? At least wait until the full report is published before making judgements. Thankfully your not a judge you would have people guilty before they took the oath

Agree0 Disagree0

OP yes things are looking up a couple of center halves and we are almost there. Who cares about Sunday roll on next season because the Gers are back.

no excuses this year ally has his pick of players decent signings as like last year be interesting to see how it turns out if we flop it has to be down to manager hearing that the wages are not as high as quoted but decent signing on fee has balanced this out well within budget for next year get the season book forms out

i'm quite optimistic about the signings rangers are making for the new season ahead,
however. I wonder if ally will play 1 up front again next season?. please. no. not again,
although we won the league at a canter it was embarassing playing this formation against part-timers and even more gauling that we rarely kept a clean sheet doing so!
rangers should be crushing these teams home and away, the best form of defence is attack and if mcoist isn't brave enough to use this then, for him, there is no defence!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Those awful awful awful games all over again. It's going to happen we all know it. You can't buy Ally success. For two years that's been tried. He just hasn't got it and that diddy award is such a joke given the expense of his full time top tier & international professionals against part time tradesmen, posties and unemployed on £50 week cash in hand.

Agree0 Disagree0

For two years buying ally success? You are obv drunk. How did ally try buy success 2 summers ago? Cheap euro signings Ortiz Bocanegra and goian? To replace weir, bougherra and Weiss? Hmmm, not sure myself. He wanted proven SPL players like goodwillie and Conway. Hardly the same is it. And last summer he got a load of free agents no one else wanted. Do you think they were blue chip signings too?

I've got a horrible, horrible feeling of deja vu. when whyte came in, he handed out big contracts to the top players, which, along with other moves, forced us into where we are now. now, we are signing up more players, three so far, more promised in the future, increasing our wage bill, but no cost cutting involved. where is the extra money coming from? it looks like we're heading straight back into administration. I wouldn't put a penny into ibrox until these parastes are out of our club. dave & hugh

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No extra money required mate. Do the Maths. Sandaza, Kyle, Alexander, all gone. Goin, Boca and Cribari will go as well as a few others. I reckon this years wage bill will be less than last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's rumoured the £22m got blown to get club through first year. Greens January figures said £2.5m operating costs a month, losing a million a month.
This strategy of higher operating costs with frozen ST pricing and less TV income etc for SFL as top teams leave to spl2 is very concerning to most.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems like a desperate effort to sell STs. Don't think we'll ever see these signings actually playing for rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3) my thoughts exactly. In here it was said no ST money until asset ownership shown, accounts published and good signings. First two not delivered. After season tickets bought (to watch these guys) if even one of them doesn't sign up on first sept there has to be refunds for whoever asks for one. It would be a false ticket sale, a spiv con.

I still say pay game by game, and not cash but by credit card day before. Auditable by hmrc and bank. Keep the power with the fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 It is a desperate effort to sell STs and McCoist is spearheading it with all his drum beating and rhetoric about moving forward, he is also taking the heat off the board yet again, if he wants us to buy STs he should be honest with us. His record of signings is worse than his cup record although both have probably cost us millions, the only reaon he is still at Rangers is because of his playing record, he's had two years to prove his worth and despite being very well paid he has failled miserably, as a club we cannot move forward with McCoist as manager he is a millstone around our necks, we should get rid of him and get a real manager who would be accountable for his performance, unlike the free hand McCoist has somehow been given to single handedly map our future despite booing crowds at Ibrox, huge numbers of fans refusing to renew STs and every single pundit saying its awful. To say that Ally wouldn't do these things to Rangers is to ignore the facts, our overall loyalties should be to the club not the manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2, 3, 4&5 what a merry bunch of posters you are. Glad I do not know you personally. I am depressed enough just reading your posts

Ozzie Al

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 they contracts are signed so they will all be there on the first of sep so roll on then but we still need to no what money's in the bank and the deeds

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 Maybe there are fans out there that aren't convinced by what's happening Al. There are still far too many questions, none of the players are actually signed yet, that is a fact, who conducted the negotiations with the players and their agents and has the authority to agree these deals, Green could easily withdraw the offers, just think about that. There are no season ticket renewals, that is a fact. Our board investigated themselves, did you expect any other outcome than the one we had? Sadly our club will NOT move forward until Ally is gone, we need a young manager and a young team that can grow together and give us fans some pride back, if you say our club makes you burst with pride like it used to then you sir, are a liar. We have been kicked around for 2 years and no matter how much finger pointing clowns like you do the only people who are to blame are the people who ran, and the people who are currently running OUR club. Every post you make shows no common sense or even any semblance of reality, you try to force your opinion that everything is wonderful onto others and belittle those who don't agree with you and tow the party line. We need action to get Rangers back to where they belong and if that means putting a few 'Rangers men's' noses out of joint then so be it, it is 'Rangers men' that got us into this mess but it needs us fans to get us out of it. Your posts don't depress people, they just make them pity you. Open your eyes man and take a hard look at both our club, and yourself. I bought shares and have watched their price plummet, and before all the 'fans didn't buy them to make money' s**te starts, I know they didn't, I know I didn't BUT the investors did, that is why it is important. All we have so far is a string of broken promises and a share issue, there is a LONG, LONG way to go and we are struggling to take the club forward both on and off the park. No doubt you will tell me I am wrong and everything is going swimmingly but where is the proof?

Jon Daly is Now a Rangers players Signed a 2 Year Contract today with the option of a third year. So that's two today. Also heard that Chris Humphrey was at Ibrox today looking about today with his agent so that may mean that he is happy to accept the 3 year contract that has been offered to him.

Have absolutely no doubt, Daly, Law and Bell are excellent signings, let's remember the days of top money signings are over for now, these guys will do a job for us and the bonus with Daly is his ability to play centre back also, where let's be honest has been a nightmare this season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Delighted with the signings of Cammy Bell and Nicky Law. Bell is the best goalkeeper in Scotland and Law will bring a lot of much needed energy to the centre of our midfield. Not so happy with the signing of Jon Daly though. Nothing to do with religion or nationality, but purely for footballing reasons. For me he is just another target man, which will see Ally tell the team to lump the ball forward and have the others play off scraps. That's not how a team looking to dominate games should be playing. Would rather have had Boyd or Miller back than sign him. However he will have my support whenever he pulls on the blue jersey regardless. We still need a fair few more players though and I would like us to get Tom Hateley, Chris Humphrey, Nicky Clarke and Danny Wilson if possible. Add that to what we already have and we will be set to get through the next two divisions. After that will be when Ally really has to prove himself as we will need a major rebuilding job before we enter an SPL season.

IDM

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Daly will do a job for us either up front or replacement for the current non event at the back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not so happy with the signing of john daly though. nothing to do with religion or nationality. the fact you mention it means it is a problem for you
shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

Bell best keeper in Scotland? We're you drunk when you posted this? He's (on paper) the 6th best goal keeper in the spl goals against & his current team is 9th in the spl.

Daly - IMO great signing, when his name came up months ago my mate (a blue nose) said he will be the top player within a year. Has experience & will fire up any team.

McCoist bought a few players from the 'spl team of the year' & failed. He now has 3 better players than he did before now the buck will stop at tactics.

Lenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Bell better than forster. give me a break.

this is exactly why rangers fans set themselves up for a fall.

the days of 2 million plus pound signings are gone, so now every free agent is the best in the league in that position.

must say bell is one of the best in scotland atm but not the best in 2 years could see him being the best but atm the tims have the best as darren randolph his went to birmingham leaving big forster to take top keepers spot in scotland mandy

Seen a few complaints like oh we need a couple of centre backs, we need tp sprt out our defence first etc. Ally will know this aswell and I think he will sort it out. I think its good that were signing pleanty of attackin options as it will make players that played like fa**ys last season have to play a bit of football for a place, finally a bit of grit and effort will be installed in the team. Also think nicky law is a great wee signing. James

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are you james, or any other bears on here, not worried at all, that you can't afford what you are doing.
from your own accounts, you are running at £1m a month loss.
if you all get your wish list signed, you will have between 5 & 10 new players to kick off the season.
nobody in their right mind would buy the guys you have on expensive contracts at the moment.
so in all probability, your £1m a month loss will rise to £1.5m

are you all so desperate for success that you are willing to risk administration & liquidation again.
your fiscal policy is nothing short of financial suicide.

you all come on here blaming murray whyte green or whoever for the mess you are in, but at the same time asking for more of the same, spending money you don't have.

seriously, can any of you explain this to me. shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

Any business will suffer initial outlays across the board resulting in losses

this loss of £1m a month is not a constant, I understand you're only working from the figures available at the moment but common sense would say that once those initial outlays are taken care of then everything else would be heading in the right direction

We lost 20 odd players, all of whom were on significant wages/bonuses etc, we brought in a handful on far lower money and also trimmed the money spent on those who stayed

I've always been a supporter of how things have went in the 3rd division, job was done and it was done with ease, but regardless of that there are still plenty who are panning the team because we didn't scud everybody 8-0

that's the nature of the beast I suppose, expectations should be relative but I understand how that could be difficult

on the point I can't see how, say half, the players on a few grand a week will do damage when the support has been phenomenal

I look on it as another form of initial outlay, on the long term, over the course of getting us back to the top

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 you are correct Shammy. This has nothing to do with competent or prudent management but all to do with season ticket sales. Change the menu get some new names in and the gullible bears will part with their money again. Unless the two centre backs who were out on loan last year plus Cribari, Faure the Greek lad, Black and Dean Shields are moved on the costs are going to spiral even more out of control. We needed a manager/ scouting team to get young inexpensive promising talent in as the transfer ban never applied to the age of players we should be bringing in- the worrying times continue

Agree0 Disagree0

Shammy, many of us here only care about the football. If all the predicted disasters happen, we'll deal with it then. Until then, we get on with the business of looking out for talented players that can help us on our journey back.

Bear in mind that this time last year everyone was telling us that Rangers was over, we'd never play again, even if we did, we'd not be able to get into the SFL, or the tax case would shut us, blah blah, yet here we are a season later.

if bad stuff is in the pipeline, we'll face it then. Until then, let's get the players in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shammy. - It's really not that difficult to explain mate.
It's called a business plan.
See the thing is with investment, it's usually based longer term rather than short term, especially where that investment is procured by way of shareholding.
Our board and manager are simply doing now, what they never had the opportunity to do last year. Invest in better quality younger players who will either serve us well for the journey back or have a sell on value in the future.

Nicky Law is a great signing, I have not been so excited in a Rangers signing in a few years! Well done Ally and Craig Mather (who at least seems to be backing Ally in transfer market so far). I just hope that Ally plays a more passing style or Law will struggle, as he is a ball player. I believe he is the best technician in Scottish Football, so let's get ball down and play

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Best technician inScottish football this must be joke of the day? Now I can't even remember his face that's how much he lit up Scottish football! What has he done didn't even get nominated for any end off season awards!

Agree0 Disagree0

He must definitely be the best technician, because of all the english premier league teams that have been chasing him for his signature! Fact is, no one other than a third tier team from Scotland are the only ones wanting him! He was even not wanted at his own club! That must show you how highly he is thought of!
Seriously dream on mate, your post is just rediculous!

Where are we going to be if there is an SPL 2? The talk at the moment is that the current 1st division are going to " cast adrift " the 2 bottom leagues and join the SPL. What are the implications if this happens which looks as if it will ( the SPL have welcomed the overtures from the 1st division clubs ).
I am a wee bit concerned about this development for example, will the winners on division 2 ( us I hope ) get automatic promotion to SPL 2?

Jarko Hurme is another defender out of contract at his Finish club he is 26 and has three caps for Finland. He might be worth a look at, some Finns have done well in Scotland in the past like Niemi and Eremenko. We need to get that defence sorted for next season. At least the weather would not get to him.

Hearing good things about a young Estonian international full back 24 called Ken Kallaste, who will be free on a bosman
Should not cost to much wages, might be worth a look at?
And we could play Lee Wallace in midfield were he belongs.
He plays in his own nation, in the league winning side. {Ed001's Note - I believe the club have a 1 year option on his contract, but it is not clear.}

Players I would like at ibrox

Ian vigurs ( nice balance to lm/cm)
Danny Wilson (staying in Scotland)
Murray Davidson (always linked)
Tom hateley ( need good rb)
Another cb needed also or keep goian ( doubt it though)

Add them to daly, bell, Clark, miller.
With McCullough black temps shiels Wallace
Hutton and youngsters like Mckay McLeod aird hegarty,

Not a bad wee squad?
What you reckon ed?

Scott

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Scott, I rekon your deluded that on our budget we, d be able to afford this team. And if kenny miller or nacho novo sign I'm giving up my season ticket. We have a chance to build a young team who will get experience and learn from the older guys that are there. I really don't get why we're linked with a load I'd ex players. Only one I'd have back is Wilson. He, s young, has his career to rebuild and could go on to be captain and a 500 game for the club player.
