Jelavic just signed for a team earlier this year for £4m mate. How could we buy him out of that contract?!? .

24 Jun 2016 19:08:03
Hope everyone has not forgotten about harry forester.

24 Jun 2016 21:01:58
Harry who!

24 Jun 2016 21:02:32
Anything heard about his recovery?

24 Jun 2016 21:09:15
I think with the new additions we will really get the most out of him he was on fire before getting injured here's hoping he can pick up where he left off. The gaffer bringing in the boys and getting them settled early will make all the difference. Poor old Brenda over at the potato eaters will probably have the 300 midfielders they have on the books walking about with name tags on and might know who they all are by November, ah well the league will be ours. Also I would like to take this opportunity to thank dave king for giving some answers this week I have enjoyed reading his statements and I'm glad that we are no longer being fed bs and we are now getting transparency at our club that has been missing for too long. Keep up the good work!

24 Jun 2016 21:31:40
I remember him, it's the O'Halloren guy that'll need to step up and play this season, or he will be on the bench!

24 Jun 2016 20:50:59
Been thinking the same mate every time someone mentions a starting 11 he doesn't seem to get a mention, some people have short memories.

25 Jun 2016 07:06:00
It was abit too stop start for O'Halloran when he moved because of the cup tie situation, so I don't think he was settling as quick as he should have. With a good pre season I really think he will come good. because let's face it we know first hand what he can do on the top of his game!

24 Jun 2016 17:17:07
We need a striker maybe even 2 don't care what anyone says if wags get injured and Miller won't play 90 every week oh is a wide player just like McK why play players out of position that's back to the ally days a lot of names flying about some I like some I don't but we definitely need strikers in ASAP before Monday would be beneficial to the club.

24 Jun 2016 18:16:52
Some talk on forums that Ryan Hardie is leaving on loan or permanently to Accrington.

If true should be a sign we're close to signing a new centre forward.

Plus move if it's a loan as he has huge potential. But won't be a starter this season so makes room (to say the least) for a striker to come in. Definitely. Not one fan can doubt that.
But if it's James Vaughun I'd rather keep Hardie.

24 Jun 2016 18:40:09
We only play 1 striker and have wahgorn Miller ohalloran and he has said he want to bring in one more.

24 Jun 2016 20:06:13
Michael O Halloran is not a striker. Trying a player out so to speak in a position he hasn't played in regularly isn't going to win us anything.

Martyn Waghorn isn't a striker either. He got us a lot of goals last season but he was more suited to that right wing role linking up with Tavernier.

That leaves Kenny Miller, with Hardie likely to leave, loan or permanent. One striker coming in really isn't enough either, likely one permanent and one loan deal for a striker/ winger.

24 Jun 2016 21:08:56
Thorn76 why don't you get in touch with mw, and let him know where he is going wrong, i'm sure a man of his stature will appreciate your knowledge mate,

25 Jun 2016 00:27:54
Thorn76 is only expressing his opinion and shouldn't be mocked for it. Really poor post bogjoh85. Don't think there is much wrong with his post either you only have to look at the lack of goals O'Halloran has scored in his career to know he isn't a striker and Waghorn has never really been prolific before joining Rangers. I think we need at least 1 striker possibly 2.

24 Jun 2016 16:35:30
Anyone think we'll do any business before Monday?

Would love to see a deal for Mariappa go through as soon as. We need a new centre half along with Hill way more than we need a new centre forward just now.

24 Jun 2016 19:50:59
Why before Monday?

24 Jun 2016 20:34:12
Luigi - its monday the team head out to the USA.

24 Jun 2016 21:44:28
Wishlist for Monday
Mariappa
Robson Kanu
Job done.

24 Jun 2016 16:05:48
Anyone heard anything about who Durrants replacement is going to be, need to get someone sooner rather than later as under 20s have the Irn Bru Cup in a few weeks.

24 Jun 2016 16:50:55
Think we just signed the guy who looked after the development squad from Falkirk, did we not,?

24 Jun 2016 17:03:12
Yes bill we have that 👍🏻.

24 Jun 2016 19:48:44
The guy from falkirk was more for the education side of things i'm sure for the youths academical side of things.

24 Jun 2016 17:25:29
Creag Robertson, don't think he's the new coach though, he's been appointed Head of Academy football business, whatever that means. Think were still on the lookout for under 20s coach. Neil Mccann?

24 Jun 2016 15:38:16
Getting linked to James Vaughan and Marvin Sordell is a joke! Come on there must be better options than those two!

24 Jun 2016 17:03:52
I agree swede 👍🏻.

24 Jun 2016 17:28:51
Ok swede. Who? Thing I'd like to point out, waggy didn't exactly have the best scoring record when we signed him did he? I agree some of the names we r linked with aren't exactly inspiring but all the new names we brought in last season who can honestly say that they were excited or knew much about them? We have got to have faith in what MW DW and FMcP are doing.

24 Jun 2016 17:44:55
Calm down lads, in my opinion Vaughan would be the perfect player to fit into our way of playing, he is still only 27 and if MW weaves his magic as he did with Waggy then we are quids in with a sell on, he has played in the epl with Everton and Huddersfield in the championship, he did score 17 goals in 41 and I am sure it's harder to score down south than up here in the premiership, MR has not let us down yet so give him the benefit of the doubt, I have a feeling that if MY is indeed interested then he has done his homework and knows how to get the best out the lad.

24 Jun 2016 14:11:13
Not too sure why a lot of posts say we don't need a striker. we need at least 1. especially a centre forward type. o halloran and windass are attacking midfielders. Hardie may or may not come through (bear in mind the many other youngsters that fell away) - miller won't play much, and be used as a super sub. so that leaves waghorn on his own. we need a defender. and we need at least 1 striker, maybe 2. nice to see gilks in. i would like to see at least 1 other decent scots player come in. its trying to find a decent scottish player that's the problem.

24 Jun 2016 15:22:31
I've posted on here a couple of times, though a lot of us me included think a tall poacher is what we need, that player does not fit MW's profile. He wants fast, ball players sadly Vardy turned down a mega bucks deal with Arsenal so no point in us offering a Bosnam with free fish suppers jk jk. but Vardy is the type of player MW would like.

All that said I'm absolutely bowled over by the quality of our signings.

24 Jun 2016 15:29:10
Honestly I like Waggy but I'm not convinced he is a CF. We definitely need a great finisher or all these brilliant signings will be for nothing. Sometimes you have a poor game and for those games we need a really dangerous player up front who you know if the ball lands at their feet 9 times out of 10 its going in.

24 Jun 2016 16:14:41
He should be giving the chance to play constantly through the middle as appose to switching out wide there is no need for him out there with all the quality we have in that area I believe he will get us the goals but that's just my thoughts.

24 Jun 2016 14:00:51
Why not try MOH upfront? He's been playing as a winger but we all know he can score so why not give him a chance as striker and see what he can bring as a goal scorer.

24 Jun 2016 14:10:26
Would rather that than some of the boys names getting chucked about.

24 Jun 2016 19:53:04
Because he's a flop (did say before we signed him) and his career scoring rate is not good- those who advocated his signature did so because of one good performance against us in cup.

24 Jun 2016 12:23:19
Why are we being linked with more strikers? I think Warburton is going to have a headache in picking who plays upfront next season we have so many attacking options and little cover for defence/ goalkeeper. I would like to see us being linked with more defenders only hearing of one name so far.

24 Jun 2016 12:47:22
I don't think we need loan signings this season. Warburton is doing good buisness this summer already adding 6 new faces and from what the man said himself he's looking to add another 3/ 4 new faces.

24 Jun 2016 13:14:39
We have options in the wide areas but Waggys injury towards the end of the season hidden hit us hard. Most teams go with 3 recognised strikers and a younger player, we have two in Waggy and Miller plus young Hardie, one short in my opinion.

24 Jun 2016 14:17:37
I think 2 loan deals would be enough if we can secure marriapa and an out and out striker waggy was great last season but might not be able to make the step up i'd like sum1 more proven than waggy remember I think he scored something like 9 penalties last season so scoring record isn't as great as people think and that's in a lower league!

I think we need a player that can bang in 30 goals plus for this season and I don't think waggy is that guy!

24 Jun 2016 15:07:36
What makes people think we won't get penalties in the SPFL and that Waggy won't convert the? . The way we play attracts rash tackles, scoring 9 penalties is still an achievement. Look at Griffiths he scored over 40 goals and couldn't buy a penalty at one point.
We will sign another striker though, that's a certainty. MW has shown with his transfers so far that he is addressing all the areas that need addressed.

24 Jun 2016 12:08:57
Heard lots of fans saying "A loan signing or two later in the window".

Kind of question this. Think we made four loan signings in total last season, Ball, Zelalem, Oduwa and King.

We tried to get Winks a couple of times as well according to media reports.

One or two loan signings? Would imagine at least three maybe four in this window. Anyone have any idea who we'll be in for?

24 Jun 2016 12:39:17
I think the amount last season was down to lack of numbers and time constraints, loan moves are a bit quicker to push through as you don't really need to negotiate with the player, just sell the vision. Also there was little or no scouting structure at the club at the start of the season so we were relying on Warburtons contacts more, hence the Spurs players.

I would expect 2 loans, just my thought but I think we may see a full back and a striker. And that's even if we sign permanent deals for these positions. At the moment we have 2 strikers plus young Hardie, if we sign a good quality striker I would run with that 4, if the striker signed is more in the unproven bracket I'd loan in another. If we don't need to load a striker I think it could be an out and out winger that comes in on loan.

As for names no idea, but you can't ignore the Spurs and Liverpool links. Couple of names to throw in Shaq Coulthurst, Harry Wilson, Conner Randall from the Spurs/ Liverpool connections.

24 Jun 2016 14:04:01
Hopefully we do add a few loan deals last season we had a much smaller squad and could almost guarantee them first team football. Now that we have a larger squad we may not be able to offer as much game time so it may be harder to convince teams to loan us there up and coming players who need valuable time on the pitch.?

24 Jun 2016 12:01:38
The prices down south are ridiculous. 6mil for Sinclair. If he were playing up here and a team down there wanted him, you'd be lucky if they offered anywhere near 2 for him.

24 Jun 2016 10:33:50
Congratulations to Britain on voting to leave Europe.

24 Jun 2016 10:56:08
Yasssssss, getting control is awesome, wheeeeeeeee, boris for PM.

24 Jun 2016 11:56:15
Limited foreign players .

24 Jun 2016 12:05:32
Yeah fantastic we're now left to the whims of the Tories.

24 Jun 2016 12:18:43
The only downside is that this is exactly the vote that Sturgeon wanted although she would never admit it.

24 Jun 2016 15:08:52
I was a no man but I'd probably lean towards an independent Scotland now rather than sit back and watch the tories slowly destroy workers rights that the EU introduced.

24 Jun 2016 15:22:59
why does sturgeon abhor the idea of government in westminster but happy to be governed from brussels.

24 Jun 2016 15:56:43
Got to disagree guys, unless you are joking. I am shocked to the core today, be careful what you wish for, Scotland has got to remain part of the union, or are you advocating Republicanism? Exit from EU could bring a disaster for a small nation like Scotland.

I won't let it spoil my desire for Rangers in Europe next year. Get ready for a great season following the Mighty Rangers.

24 Jun 2016 16:06:05
rangeken

Maybe because she is actually a xenophobe and doesn't like the English.

As for the EU introducing workers' rights ask any of Mike Ashley's workers how they feel about that one.

24 Jun 2016 17:27:53
Naz, I for one am grateful we have maximum amount of hours our employers can force us to work, manditory holiday pay and paternity/ maternity pay rules to name a few.

I can't say i'm confident that tories would leave them as they are. I can't stand the snp but I guarantee they wouldn't lessen what we currently get.

24 Jun 2016 10:28:16
Looks like we are finally out of the eu guys how does this affect transfers now that we are no longer part of eu.

24 Jun 2016 10:45:58
They will just need to apply for a visa. Just like all other non EU players who play in Britain.

24 Jun 2016 12:36:03
Luckily we are in the EU for the next 2 year minimum so get any EU players in before then.

23 Jun 2016 22:53:06
Obviously happy we are making some signings but some people just going over the top. Krankjar obv a good player but he's been playing in the second division in the US. it shows how far Rangers have fallen that people are drooling over these signings when we used to have international players in our team ( geo van brockhorst, Reyna, Kanchelskis, ricksen to name a few ) some people need to calm down we still have a long way to go to get back to where we should be.

24 Jun 2016 00:45:27
The days of international players are gone. The best we will do is a scotland international player (Mckay) we are happy as it is far better than the likes of daly, hutton and Kevin Kyle. The days are looking a lot better.

24 Jun 2016 05:43:39
loving the progress we are making on transfer front, board and management doing a sterling job, i want us to go for the treble, not content to just get near the top of the league. It may seem unfair that some of the players who excelled for us last season might not feature as much, but I trust Warbs to get his lean squad ready for the challenge.
P. S. Re name changing at Murray Park. I suggest "Blue Heaven"
Cheers.

24 Jun 2016 07:59:47
Grahame h89.its not a matter of getting over exited, did you see the crap we had on the field for 3 years, the signings last year put circles round an average celtic team, there was talk of a gap, we closed it on semi final at hampden, with a team that cost less than a million pound. in this window we are going up a few notches on talent and experiance to challenge for title. from the hell we have came from, its easy to understand most fans exitment on these players that have come in. again. we are tied up financialy without shirt money, mabye to the tune of 15 mill a year. add that in to the coffers and your targeting a better talent again. so as far as i am concerned we are on the rite track and only going to get better.

24 Jun 2016 10:13:16
Graham h89, the reason Krancjar was playing in the American League was due to his wife's modelling
career .
If he was playing in any European league a would put my mortgage on him being in France with Croatia .
The guy is sheer class which you will soon find out .
There is always one person you can't satisfy, MW and the team doing a great job .

24 Jun 2016 11:53:33
Kranjcar is a 31 year old Croatian with 85 caps for his country in a time when they boasted some outstanding talent. We should all be delighted to have him. He went to America with his wife and signed on at New York to get his fitness up. Used sparingly in the bigger games he will be a superstar for us. McKay, Holt and Windass will be learning from a true master of the ball.

24 Jun 2016 11:49:51
GraemeH89 - I guess we should exercise some caution and not let our expectations run away with us. Let's see what Kranjcar, Barton, Rossiter et al deliver on the park before we crown new kings of Ibrox Park - But the shear imagination and audacity of these signings, in my opinion anyway, is quite breathtaking and far surpasses the paper talk and general speculation at the end of last season and for that reason, it is difficult not to get excited. Fortune Favours the Brave - Who Dares Wins and on that basis alone MW and the team deserve a trophy. Thankfully, it is inspiring and uplifting to be a Ranger, once again! I wonder what all the doubters who dismissed the chance of Rangers challenging Celtic for the title first season back are thinking now? 55 we are coming for you!
