Apart from McLeod, little and maybe McKay. the simple fact is all other Murray park graduates are just not good enough. perry, hearty, Mitchell, Hutton, Crawford, Naismith, aird will all belaying 1st division football. some even part time football they are soo poor. I know they're young and need time but I don't think they will ever cut it. I badly want Murray park to do well but gone are the dys of mcgregor, Hutton, Adam, Burke, mccormack some of which had to leave to prove they were good enough. (addy ninnies aswell) We have the facilities but I jut don't think the right scouts and coaches. I hate to say it but celtics U19's run away with the league every year. And do did the U21's before it was scrapped. Just we've started from the bottom again and I believe we should look at our youth team and re shuffle /replace some of the scouts/coaches if need be. What's everyone else's thoughts. Mark

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more the crop of youngsters coming through with the exception of McLeod & McKay are average to say the least and it doesn't bode we'll for the future. The fact that the manager has already signed 6 players with possibly more to follow shows that these young payers aren't rated

Agree0 Disagree0

McKay? What has he done to suggest he will ever be even remotely good? He can't cross the ball, can't dribble, can't go past a man and he's scared. He has pace and people go off their heads, same thing happened with Gregg Wylde, and look how that turned out. Just add McKay to the list of duds. He'll never make it here when we're at a half decent level. Be realistic.

MacLeod looks a good player. Always demands the ball and isn't afraid to get stuck in. Distribution is very good for a young man too. But no doubt he will stall this year as Peralta, Law and Black will need to be played to justify their wages. We have a habit of wasting young players, particularly intelligent midfielders. Charlie Adam first and then John Fleck. What a footballer that lad is but he wasn't given the chances and he will fulfill his potential elsewhere. And don't give me the lame excuses about his attitude etc. Such a shame.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mitchell should get more time I think

Agree0 Disagree0

Mark Guasparatto and Mitchell looked fantastic when given a chance towards the end of the season Mitchell in particular. Considering he isn't a right back I felt he did well getting forward and also put in a few decent deliveries. These lads do need time like you say but it can't be easy playing infront of 40,000+ fans who are jumping straight on your back like I saw for the likes of Hutton and Naismith. I think Hutton could make it tbh he's a big lad and he can keep hold of possession. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying he's xavi or anything but he's no worse than some of the players we've got and more experience and game time will only make him better

scrsc Barry McKay has a brilliant first touch and correct me if I'm wrong but think he had 12 assists last season so don't think he's as bad as you're making out. He has shown some nice pieces of skill to get past players and I remember a game at ibrox where he hit a shot from well outside the area and it came back off the bar but the technique he used to hit it was top notch.

How you can sit there and slate young boys who have been asked to do a mans job! Should you not be asking questions of black, shiels and alexander? Not one of them can be proud of themselves last season. The so called hard man black done nothing but whine about tackles, not fit to wear the jersey!

Agree0 Disagree0

MaKay was lacking confidence towards the end of the season - that can only come from the manager encourging the young players. I think McKay could go on to be a decent player within the SPL, probably not somebody you want to build a team around but he will offer something.

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 lol do a man's job? Feck me they are getting paid for it so don't talk keek! I spent my first 2 years in the RN earning pittance and I was a young guy in a mans job! But her they go out and kick a football while guys like myself went to war! Yeah some fecking comparison mate!
Yours was An absolute rediculous post!

Agree0 Disagree0

What shocking posts. You cry out for the youth then slate them cause they didn't play well enough for you. Take a look at the so called experienced players in the team who can't cross, can't dribble and can't go past players.
Don

Agree0 Disagree0

5 - Agreed. This thread is everything that's wrong with rangers. Unfortunately a fraction of our support are not willing to give time to any youth player coming through. I thought that after starting again in 3 rd div that this attitude would change. Basically, as a youth player at ibrox, if you don't hit the ground running in 4/5 games then you're a dud. Some fans do not have the patience to watch you develop. It's a disgrace. Players need time and 6 months to a year to get fully settled into the team. It would be better for them to go out on loan as fans at other clubs are more than likely to be patient and realise that at 17-21 you are not the finished article. Give them a break lads ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

To slag Mckay you clearly don't watch many of the games. In previous seasons, these young boys would have been given the last 5-10mins at the end of a game we were 3-0 up. Now they are being asked to go out and win these matches. It's people like you who won't give the youth a chance and just want to see the finished artcle without the graft. Alexander last season didn't do much wrong either, it was the Defence in front of him who could not communicate to protect their line of defence. This season will be different. They all have a year under their belts and new players in who will help raise competition and it will (hopefully) be better to watch. This is 5the season Ally will quite rightly be assessed as this is HIS team. It's stage 2 and not fighting for the SPFL so give the young boys a chance and get behind the team

Agree0 Disagree0

@scrsc wot other midfield talent have we wasted Adam has done ok for himself fleck is a snake at their best they're above average midfielders Adam doesn't get a game at stoke and a don't even no what field the snakes in but can't be doing that good and going by reading your previous comments you no nothing about football never mind who is a good player {Ed001's Note - Adam was a regular at Stoke before falling out with Pulis, to be fair.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If they can't stand out in the 3rd division against part-time opposition they will never be good enough. FACT. Get a grip and open your eyes. Bunch of brainless wonders haven't got a scooby about fitba.

Ed, the transfer embargo lasts until 01. 09. I presume that does not include selling anyone, right? {Ed001's Note - correct.}

Rangers boys back at training today love the new training kits. anyone know who's next on allys radar and for anyone who keeps saying that ricky foster is on his way back or he's at murray park he's not he's still in bristol still has 1 more year left on his contract

Saw the new training gear on website, what a poor show it is. No points for whoever designed this, there is no thought, just the same as this year with a change of logo and sponsor.

I hope the new strip is significantly better. I liked the idea of last years which was based on the 72 strip. I like the idea of the retro look and would favour the old blue v neck with white collar from the Baxter era, I think still the best jersey we have had.

I'm getting really frustrated with all the negitive comments about the friendly with Hearts. We're The Famous Glasgow Rangers and we have a bit of class about us that others don't. let's play them in the friendly just to prove we're better than the rest of Scottish football.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pretty sure Wallace will leave, hope not but I think they will want a few in for him to maintain increase in wages this year.
Could see outs as

Wallace (fee)
Cribrari (undoubtedly for a few after paying wages up)
Goian (free)
Boca (free)
I would imagine we could get minimum of 900k for Wallace poss reaching 2 mil.
The rest including Wallace freeing up wages of 35- 45 k per week.

Would like zaliukas in to play alongside mcculloch but don't think it will happen. Hope I'm wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't remember Hearts helping us out, I do remember the bile from Romanov. I know he is no longer there but we owe no favours to any SPL club. Let another SPL club help them, and apart from Celtic you might get 5000 people.

Agree0 Disagree0

Possible 2million for wallace what are you on, nobody will pay that amount of
money for a player from the league we are playing in, and who says is leaving. jimbo

Agree0 Disagree0

@2: don't remember Rangers asking Hearts for a friendly. And before you say they could have helped by voting for Rangers to be admitted to the SPL, should that have happened, given that the club had begun the liquidation process?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wallace won't be leaving. To start with Hearts couldn't help us with a friendly, a few hundred thousand would have done nothing for us. We could play them and we keep the money our fans pay and they keep the money their fans pay. they would still get the majority and we would still be helping. I like the thought of us being the bigger man if i'm honest, too many bitter fans on here blaming hearts. isn't most people more embarrassed that scottish teams are falling left, right and center? The fans who don't want the friendly can look at it in this selfish way, if hearts are going to go down then it will be because they can't agree a cva and certainly not because we refused to play them in a friendly. So play them and be the bigger man and if they go down well say atleast we tried to help even know we weren't offered any help and if they survive we can say we helped save a club. People saying not for what romanov said and other stupid things, how many times did we say its the persons who were running the club that put us down and its us fans that have to suffer now were forgetting all that and laughing at other fans suffering for what their person owner did. We say were the biggest and most successful and were great fans, let's start showing it then.

your making a mistake my friend, although I don't really have a want for hearts to suffer, it was mostly fans who wanted us to suffer, Romanov is a clown figure and his words mean nowt, but their fans demanded we were sent down. along with all other clubs, some of whom did it for their own questionable reasons, so we don't have to be the bigger man? we already are

Agree0 Disagree0

The great Glasgow rangers? We have class others don't? You mean liquidated and failure to pay debts and taxes you a comedy writer or have you been in a coma for last 2years
Dunfermline dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Wallace is stuck at club nobody will come in for lower league players same as black shields etc afrid we are stuck with this rubbish till there contracts run out

Agree0 Disagree0

@7. I was referring to the rangers fans not the people who ran our club down, when did rangers fans fail to pay debts? You support Dunfermline mate, go gather some friends and actually full your ground and worry about your own team. And @6, I and most other fans didn't want special treatment we all wanted to be put in the 3rd division because that's what would happen to anyone else so don't ask to be put down the bottom then blame fans for putting us there

We need to sort out central defence situation - bring clarity to Boca and Goain situations. As if they go (ell Boco as Goian is mince anyway) then we need at least 1 central defender. Would have liked Wilson but I would imaging Ally tried getting him and he choice Hearts over us. If that's his decision we should not take him. Craig Cathcart would be decent. Oh and finally no way should we play Hearts in a friendly - would be kick in teeth to us the fans

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So you're blaming hearts now for rangers demise? Explain how a club can be liquidated without dire consequences? From what I can gather, the rest of the sport was to just go along with craigies debt avoidance plan as well as accepting Murray's paying millions to foreign millionaires tax free. Take a good look at what actually went on. You might be glad for the chance to play hearts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Away at boil your head #1. The poster blames hearts for nothing. We will do no favours for spl teams. Why don't you get your team to play hearts?

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 no ones blaming Hearts for anything but I was sitting at the corner next to the jambos the last game we played (3-0) when they were holding up money and singing we're having a party as Rangers die, all good fun if you like, but I won't be giving any of my money to save them.

Agree0 Disagree0

To number 1 you along with your spl clubs wanted rangers out the next 2 years will put a few spl clubs down and I can't wait

Agree0 Disagree0

N1 hearts should have been relagated as spl delayed there look at hearts for a 3 week period for no reason if spl had looked at hearts finances they would have seen problem but hey they need to keep one derby game why are we allowing these falures to run our leagues when only one club benifits

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 wow you mean like all the delays that are associated with your club! Jeez are you the only people allowed to be helped by the authorities? Get the feck over yourselves will you!
