Think people on here are forgetting that MW has stated he wants a 4th choice defender so you can forget your marriapa and sambas. It will be a loan deal from a Premiership club down south.

24 Jul 2016 18:47:08
I think MW said in one of his press conferences that we are looking for a 4th central defender meaning someone who could be a starter whereas your use of 4th choice suggests to me at least someone who would mainly be a squad member. I know I'm being picky but that does not discount the likes of Mariappa for me. Money may be the issue with him but he still hasn't been signed for anyone else (waiting for a better offer? ) . A recent poster mentioned David Wheater recently released by Bolton who has EPL experience and is 29 and I think he'd be worth considering if Mariappa really isn't interested come the 6th of August.

24 Jul 2016 18:58:24
I took it as he wanted 4 defenders why would we want to add someone who won't challange the 3 we have.

24 Jul 2016 19:14:16
What manager in the whole world would say he wants a "4th choice defender" are you mad, or not know much bout football, each and every player signed will be a player the manager and entire club hope will be a great player, you don't go after someone and tell them you want him to be"4th choice" who would sign?
Tommy.

25 Jul 2016 09:04:47
He did say 4th choice though.

25 Jul 2016 14:54:25
No, he said he wanted a 4th defender to choose from. Who would want a 4th choice defender. ?
Tommy.

24 Jul 2016 15:21:56
Anyone else think we should make a move for free agent Christopher Samba? worked with hill, barton and niko before.

24 Jul 2016 19:16:33
Definitely fits the bill but I suspect he's a money grabbing! Remember him disappearing to Russia for a big payday in his prime!

24 Jul 2016 19:58:22
Samba would be phenomenal.

24 Jul 2016 22:16:52
I think he could take a wee wage cut to be playing again, he is 32 just as well. thought he was older.

25 Jul 2016 08:46:54
Agree with above posts, watched a few videos of him would definately be a danger at free kicks or corners if the team altered tactics. Not afraid to throw himself about trying to get his head on the ball. Hopefully MW can make enquiries on what wage he would look for, if it'only money he's after then forget it. Still think David Wheater would be a good option.

24 Jul 2016 11:34:35
Prob a naff post but hope we see the team playing with the black socks wi red or all red socks, think it looks the business! Sorry Bears but it's bugging me :/.

24 Jul 2016 15:24:48
Always the black with red trim for me.

24 Jul 2016 15:33:37
Each to their own Andy1872. There are no naff posts, only naff people.

24 Jul 2016 19:17:39
I used to have a naff bodywarmer.

24 Jul 2016 20:39:24
Black sock red top all day long.

25 Jul 2016 11:49:23
all red socks with white trim.

25 Jul 2016 11:54:28
So right - the white socks should be left for our journey in lower leagues - back to traditional colours for good?

25 Jul 2016 11:55:18
Bugging you? Have a beer đŸș and chill out mate, its nearly the seasons opener, don't think the socks will make too much difference tbh
Tommy.

25 Jul 2016 12:04:42
Its Rosebery Pink, not red.

24 Jul 2016 10:50:00
Just reading up on a league 2 striker Scott Hogan plays for Bretford MW's old team. Being quoted as another possible Jamie Vardy having played at Stockridge and Rochdale same as Vardy. 20 goals in 32 games as CF and valued at 500k. Wondering if this could be the striker MW was talking about with his connection to Brentford plus never heard the players name mentioned in the media.

24 Jul 2016 11:24:16
Brentford are a Championship team. What's league 2 got to do with it?

24 Jul 2016 12:24:32
Guys just back from a knee injury, its a possible but i think our next two signings will be loans.

24 Jul 2016 16:05:02
RFCinfinity, apologise for a slight error in my previous post but instead of just reading to where it said league 2 and Brentford you would have seen the other teams he played for before the championship which were league 2 and nationwide. We're all hear for the same reason to give views and comments on our team. I've seen peoples comments on here where a mistake was made but I don't reply the way you do. We're all human I hope.

24 Jul 2016 19:08:31
Scotman - I wasn't being smart or sarcastic it seems like a valid question.

26 Jul 2016 00:34:01
I really don't think that Warbs will be paying any transfer fees now poss a development fee. 3 more in all loans, imo Warbs Weir and McParland have done an excellent job and this time next season I will be very interested to see what the lads do with some cash, hope King gives Warbs any future income due to European Qualification, CL or EL.

24 Jul 2016 09:59:12
Rangers and puma are in deep, contractual negotiations to restructure a deal between the club and the sportswear giants without sports direct, there are hoping to come to a good conclusion that is moneymaking wise beneficial to both rangers and puma and then they can allow the fans to purchase the replica kits which will be through another outlet as opposed to sports direct, maybe something like jd or greaves having the rights to sell the kits.

24 Jul 2016 10:44:39
Sounds like the Board are making steady progress unblocking the constraints of the existing dire commercial arrangement. Positive development.

24 Jul 2016 10:45:28
I doubt very much that will happen until we get rid of Ashley. It's going to take a court battle to do that and that won't be resolved anytime soon.

24 Jul 2016 10:46:01
emm does tubbs not own like a percentage of puma
some rubbish been spouted.

24 Jul 2016 10:54:16
Ashley is under a fair bit of corporate pressure now to start behaiving like an adult.

24 Jul 2016 10:55:05
But sports direct own the commercial agreement to sell rangers products through the notice period. If we done that it would be a breach on that contract and we'd be liable.

So more wishful thinking rather than another "rumour" of yours. Unless this contract is deemed unlawful (due to its notice period/ who drafted it and whether they had company interests when it was made/ or if its deemed non-competative) , or unless SD renegotiate we are stuck. p. s. JD always sold Rangers tops through the SD debacle, so what's changed.

24 Jul 2016 12:10:31
Sports direct can't sell anything with the rangers badge on it, that's what's changed so jd or some other outlet may get the lot to sell if an arrangement is met with puma, ashley has shares and owns a small percentage of puma, yet again to reiterate to the continual doubting thomas's on here only passing on and sharing what I've been told, gen up here guys some of you shouldn't read or come on to a rumours page because you don't understand the definition of it and I'm being totally serious hete! For gods sake try and grab the concept of it, WE'RE ON A RUMOURS PAGE!

24 Jul 2016 13:16:38
But its unfounded and contradicts the agreement we have in place. The license has been pulled from the retail agreement so NO ONE can sell it, it being new products.

Its wishful thinking mate, i hear all sorts of dross from people all the time but i'm not sharing anything unless its got some credibility, even then its throwing your neck out there.

Our legal team is looking to null the contract on the basis of what i've said above. Renegotiation is on the table but we all know the fatman isn't going to move on the agreement.

24 Jul 2016 13:42:07
Wabs15 has a valid point but. The fat man can't sell anything with the Rangers badge on it. So WHOEVER RFC and Puma agree a deal with they can have the lot.

24 Jul 2016 14:31:46
You're not grasping this. Retail agreement means selling merchandise in which SD have the rights to for the next 4-5 years. If we agreed that JD could sell products but SD could not we'd breach that contract and be liable for any costs outwith the contract.

I hate the deal as much as anyone but if it was as easy as you're suggesting we'd have done that already or just sold it from our own superstore.

24 Jul 2016 14:49:00
and ashley holds a stake in Jd sports as well. lol
we won't get away from him that easily.

24 Jul 2016 15:11:03
You seem to be assuming that Ashley based on the advice he is receiving will not be open to negotiation.

24 Jul 2016 18:13:46
Super ally, its you who's not grasping it mate, rangers have ditched sports direct although as we all know there's a 5/ 6 year notice period, we have excercised our right by paying back the loans etc that all rangers badge and image rights belongs to the club and sd can do nothing about that, thus why the lawyers are negotiating to come up with a solution to be able to sell these kits to make the club a lot more money than our crazy original tie up with ashley's sd, we're looking at ways to which we can sell these kits legitimately and that all takes time with lawyers wading through everything, ed, what's your interpretation of all this and who do you agree with because myself and super ally have very contrasting views on what can and will happen here, what's your take ed?

24 Jul 2016 18:42:20
Lawyers are probing the contract to see if they can void it. If there's a legitimate fraud charge proven in the case pending against former directors then we could have a case to suggest the contract (agreement) was made not to benefit Rangers and their shareholders which would make any executive I'm breach of their rights as an executive which is to reserve and protect the interests of the shareholders.

The retail agreement stands and until it's deemed void we are doing nothing. MA has a legally binding agreement that his SD has the right to sell RFC merchandise. With the licence repealed they can't sell anything, but no one can as they reserve the right to sell our merchandise. It's not as easy as oh let's get a new vendor, it's never that easy.

24 Jul 2016 19:12:19
Just like you did warbs15 with the joey Barton rumours

24 Jul 2016 19:40:06
Whatever the negs are, I've no doubt fattys people will be involved, he might, just maybe, accept a new deal, as the situation as it stands is no good to anyone,
Tommy.

25 Jul 2016 12:03:08
If the contract can be shown to have been agreed not in the best interest of the shareholders it could struck -maybe if Green was to 'fess up he could buy himself some time? Or rather less time.

24 Jul 2016 09:52:21
What's happened to Andy Murdoch? Boy looked decent and now he's no were.

24 Jul 2016 10:12:22
Played in academy match v Sheffield U on Friday.

24 Jul 2016 12:51:45
Thought Murdoch was going on loan to St Mirren?

24 Jul 2016 22:03:34
Did McCall not take him on loan to Bradford? Or was that another Gers youngster.

24 Jul 2016 09:33:37
Warbs15 i like BM. And i do hope he has a great season along with the rest of the team cause as you said in an earlier post if he has a few great seasons then chances are he, ll head down south for a pretty penny 😊 but hope he stays and has many good seasons at us before leaving.

24 Jul 2016 08:52:45
Agree mushy10 this is the year to judge the whole team onwards and upwards. Warbs15 bit dissapointed in your post bud looks like u just made a bit up there to slate me. " who said anything about mckay being as good as laudrup"no one i said the way yous go on its like we've got laudrup back. Sooooo your reading things that wernt posted mateee.

24 Jul 2016 09:16:09
Tamyol, sorry if it came across that way mate but I like most people on here respect everyone's opinion, point taken and I'm not slating you my friend, I'm a massive fan of mckay and I truly think he'll make the step up to the premiership, he's certainly got everything in his locker to do it, he glides past opponents with ease which is very pleasing on the eye, he's got great technique and his long range passing and first touch are superb!

23 Jul 2016 23:40:12
Sorry blackwood bear but not end of. And for warbs15 too. If yous actually read my post i said i like BM. I daid i wasnt overly fussed with him. Yes he's a good wee player but my gid the way yous go on about him its like we've got laudrup back. No negativity about the wee man it was mer to do with your comments a was being negative about. He done last year wit he was expected to (to be fair to him dun it with aplomb) but the point i'm making is let's hope he can do it this year. i'm 100% behind him this year i just know there's a big difference between 1st div and premiershipprem.

24 Jul 2016 01:06:21
As I said if you read my post yes there is a big difference between both leagues and I for one have no doubt that the lad has enough in his locker to be a star! He isn't the finished article yet by a long way and no one is comparing him to the great Laudrup but give the lad the respect he deserves and just enjoy the future talent we have rather than be negative towards him!

24 Jul 2016 01:10:19
And being negative about my comments? I don't get you lad just enjoy what we have and trust me I'd never say a negative word about our great club even when we were in the dark days! As a larkhall man you will find nothing but 100% admiration from me about our club!

24 Jul 2016 02:11:47
To be fair this year is the time to judge all players not just Mackay. He's did well in the lower leagues so far. Mind you sebo would of prob did a job in the lower divisions. Nows the time to show his worth.

24 Jul 2016 07:27:42
Lets wait and see what barrie mckay and of course the team in general does before putting in the negative slant first, I'm with blackwoodbear on this 100%, it is a step up for mckay this season but let's see what he does in the premiership before putting negative comments as if he'll not be good enough, yws he still has a bit to learn but with his talent I'm very positive wee mckay will make the step up and for you tamyol who said anything about mckay being as good as laudrup? Your reading things that weren't posted mate!

24 Jul 2016 07:44:38
I bet Mackay could spell and make a readable sentence though.

24 Jul 2016 10:39:15
The wee man stood out last season in games against Dundee and especially Celtic. He certainly has what it takes and is going to be a right pain in the arse to a lot of defenders this season. A blind man can see that his game is developing and he is adding work rate and good attitude to his undoubted talent. I think the present management and coaches must take a lot of the credit, unlike the previous regime I might add. Sent out on loan to Morton and Raith after such an explosive intro in the bottom division? I just don't get it Ally.

24 Jul 2016 15:03:35
Wtf is all this even about? Seriously!

McKay is best young player we have produced since Charlie Adam, Hutton or baz f. End of.
