The thing about families is we fall out sometimes. But the most important part of that is we make up. I work at Ibrox and am proud at going to work as a chef and it ain't about the money but the love for the club. If anyone doubts me. I would be happy to send ed a pic of me at work through email. We have again hit a speed bump (wee tav quote) and a sore 1 at that. We do need Ibrox rocking next Thursday and what has happened don't help. But no matter who thinks what. The warning is right in front of us and if we don't listen. This could cost us millions in revinew. We are 1 we are Rangers. let's go x.

24 Aug 2019 22:20:48
I’m right behind you and every other blue nose Jeo.

24 Aug 2019 22:43:52
Hope that doesn't land me in the brown stuff. my user name has no clues in it. so as we emanuel would say. i know nuffin am fom barcelona.

24 Aug 2019 21:00:23
Like a good few on here i am of the older generation. My wife is Catholic and she is totally naive to the chants she hears when watching the game on tv. my father left us when i was 2 and as such i was a late "developer" in my love for rangers but since 14 have been going to as many matches as possible and when i could afford a season ticket (18) i have been to as many matches as possible only stopping when i moved away for work.

During the 80/ 90s i stopped going to old firm games. there was times when i actually feared for my safety from fellow supporters. the bile and hatred was horrendous, it was like a warzone and remember the hundreds of arrests that generally followed and had great concern when leaving and making my way home from the match. really just wasnt worth the hassle.

However my bigger concern is that those songs used to be sung mainly during old firm games but now some seem to think its the rangers trademark. Guys you are wrong, it is not. Rangers may have been predominately protestant but look around you in the stadium these days, its full of various cultures and races and i am really proud our club attracts these welcome NEW supporters. however will they stay - who knows i hope so. our team our manager is of different faiths. let's embrace what we have become, an evolved club with a great football history and with luck and a lot of behavioural charge we can look forward to continue being the BEST CLUB IN THE WORLD.

25 Aug 2019 01:07:33
Agreed mate, I’ve been going to Ibrox since I was 5 and I’m married to a Catholic also, it’s absolutely embarrassing when I hear the filth that some folk sing.

25 Aug 2019 08:34:07
Same here guys I'm engaged to a Catholic and her family are Celtic fans and my side of the family are all rangers fans. now my son who is nine is a rangers fan and comes to ibrox along with me to cheer on the team he knows most of the songs but only the decent ones. can u imagine if he he knew the ones that get our club in trouble it would be so disrespectful to his mum and her family.

25 Aug 2019 09:42:04
As much as these songs should stop if all team are treat with this strict liability there be no fans at scottish games you now here billy boys at various grounds aswell as the stuff more serious than verbals all the coin throwing tav at hibs many other incidents the pundits seem to have forgotten about its not just rangers.

25 Aug 2019 09:47:53
Its not as bad as it was, but its still out of order. I remember young thugs running about ibrox with swords .

The areas where the singing originates, the fans that go there need to just be banned and their seats given to decent fans. there's a huge waiting list anyway.

25 Aug 2019 18:32:39
Gees, a great story, and like everyone else we have a history. I grew up with going to Ibrox from our bus in Stewarton. Unfortunately I must admit I sang those sectarian songs on the bus and on the terraces, I was young and went with the flow. I do apologise for that.

As I grew up and understood the meaning I and a few others decided to travel by car. This didn't go down well with others but we realized we made the correct decision. I have a young son and never want him involved with those out of date chants. Ibrox should and will be a happy family day out.

25 Aug 2019 18:24:13
Great posts guys, agree it’s 21st century. and we need to act and behave accordingly. A nod to history and tradition is acceptable but chanting hatred is not.

24 Aug 2019 21:14:13
Ed, this one is for you. As you are a liverpool fan, who would you say is the greatest scottish players to have played for LFC. 1st 2nd n 3rd bud.

{Ed001's Note - Dalglish, Souness and then Hansen. Dalglish is the best player to ever play for LFC ever. Though my grandad would say Liddell was as good.}

24 Aug 2019 21:31:25
No bull that's what i thought. But did have a toss up between andy r n mr hansome lol.

{Ed001's Note - Hansen was the last of an era when defenders could actually defend!}

24 Aug 2019 21:34:28
Where allowed to defend lol.

{Ed001's Note - it does seem to be a lost art sadly.}

24 Aug 2019 20:49:02
Let me say, it is great that we are standing up to Sectarianism in trying to banish it from the terraces

What I must stress is that this has been going on for many many decades now and it is one that will not shift away easily, unfortunately!

I hope the governing body of Football knows this and will be patient about it!
The fact we are trying to do something and now addressing it at this marvellous Football Club MUST be a good thing right?

It's a habit that will be hard to eliminate totally! It's just not going to happen overnight!

if anything and we will have to have replacements stuff in its place ie new songs and other ideas as a way to try deter it!

It's not like flicking a switch and governing bodies have to realise that!

Let's reunite and work together because We Are The People.

24 Aug 2019 21:18:52
Cant argue with that. Well put Kaz.

24 Aug 2019 21:38:19
Mentioned in an earlier post Kaz that unfortunately the bigotry is generational and is hugely difficult to eradicate but we must try and make strides to do this. Rivalry is great, bigotry and hatred not so much.

25 Aug 2019 00:44:07
I’m afraid we have had our warnings and UEFA Don’t care if it’s a generational thing or not in fact they don’t care if we play in their tournaments or not we are in the last chance saloon so those who sing this garbage better stop and that starts tomorrow as the media are watching us hoping we make a fool of our club again so please stop enough is enough.

25 Aug 2019 10:15:27
I have been going to Ibrox since 1963 and whislt I do not condone the current situation, the singing was more extreme in the 60's and 70's and I don't remember any action being taken -I know youngsters must have picked it up but reversing any bad habit is difficult so good luck on this one.
We have the highest police bill in Scotland so what are they doing about it? Is the club not entitled to some help from them?

Also how do they monitor the songs sung? Who has the say so.

24 Aug 2019 20:51:15
Right troops. Not sure if this will get posted or not but here goes. I’ve been quite vocal about society being so sensitive regarding singing etc. Never negative about the team even when were struggling.

Derry’s walls,
The sash,
Fathers advice,
Build my gallows,
Every Saturday we follow,
Every other Saturday,
Blue blue sea of ibrox ,

All the above are Non sectarian.

The billy boys. (The greatest football chant in history as far as getting the team lifted and volume except for 1 word) can we change it?

We are Rangers super Rangers (1 word again but there seems to be no sanctions with this song)

As far as the UVF and YCV go these organisations have a long standing affiliation with our club and I’m not talking about terrorist organisations as these were divisions in war. Some keep saying this has nothing to do with Glasgow Rangers FC but the said organisations have been affiliated with our club for 100 years.

Other religions believe in certain things that would make our skin crawl. Every day I’m reading about catholic’s who follow us (which I think is superb as some of my best mates are catholic) who are disgusted with the songs but it was probably a lot worse when you chose us so why the hysteria now?

Is it a coincidence that the majority of the UEFA based countries are of catholic religion? They tried to destroy an institution because of a tax avoidance scheme that wasn’t illegal. They have fined us and closed areas in our stadium due to offensive signing.

They have tried to strip league titles from us. When is justice going to be served because nothing we will ever do will be as bad as 🤫 because we can’t speak about it.

Is it a coincidence that this is happening because this is the strongest we have been in years. Please don’t jump on band wagons because they are petrified that we are coming.

24 Aug 2019 21:16:12
I respect your post and agree with parts of it however I’m going to be honest and give you my opinion.

The UVF and YCV have ABSOLUTELY NO affiliation to our club. The may be linked due to our strong Norther Irish support but those organisations have no formal relationship with the current Rangers board. Like you I think it’s fantastic we have multi religions who follow us and i couldn’t care if you are black, white, green, yellow, gay, straight, trans etc!

The part of your post regarding UEFA and catholic country’s I find frankly ridiculous. UEFA did not try and destroy us. That’s a paranoid view point. The 🤫 you are referring to is child abuse. Again nothing to do with Rangers, we are getting punished for signing songs which are viewed as sectarian and offensive. The child abuse scandal sweeping ALL of the UK will be dealt with in due course.
UEFA don’t care if we’re coming or not, This is our issue. not theirs.

24 Aug 2019 21:23:41
Great post. the billy boys was banned before years ago. All of a sudden it has come back over last few season and your right has always or seemed to be greatest atmosphere and lift the team. derry walls is also a good atmosphere lifter. let's go with that. Although some of the new songs are decent i personally like the older ones.

24 Aug 2019 21:34:39
Sharpshooter, I’m shaking my head at some of your comments, particularly the affiliation to our club of the UVF and YCV. Rather than trying to find excuses for this unacceptable behaviour let’s just accept that the singing at Ibrox by sections of the support is out of date and totally unacceptable in the modern era. This is a deep rooted problem and dare I say is a generational problem as well. What was accepted in the 70’s and 80’s is no longer acceptable and we must do everything we can to eradicate it. When the manager, director, media, UEFA etc all voice how offensive and vile it is, we should be acting upon it and not playing the victim. Readers will probably be sick reading about this so it’s time for the talking to stop and action to be taken. There’s plenty other songs to sing, hopefully next week we’ll be singing “can we play you every week” 😀.

24 Aug 2019 22:22:20
Sharpshooter what a terrible post more than 50% of those songs have nothing to do with rangers. They are about a war that has what to do with rangers? Answer me that.

24 Aug 2019 23:26:51
87shenderson 👏👏👏👏👍.

25 Aug 2019 00:51:43
Sharpshooter we are guilty as charged as for the UVF and YCV what have they got to do with Rangers their is no vendetta accept the punishment cut out the offensive songs or add ins to songs get behind the team or if you can’t please just stay away.

25 Aug 2019 05:58:17
People are saying it’s generational etc and hoping it will die out, it won’t. Grown men are taking sons and daughters to the games getting pissed and singing sectarian songs to and from the games every single week, fact. It will continue until action taken by all supporters clubs and fan groups to change lyrics to said songs and promote on buses and in stands and even then it will take a while and displease most.

25 Aug 2019 09:31:19
Some of you have totally missed what he said here. Does the British army have no affiliation with Rangers? The Ulster Volunteer Force and the Young Citizen Volunteers were regiments that fought in the first world war. Obviously, these days they names have totally different objectives. Its a huge big can of worms lol.

25 Aug 2019 12:17:47
Absolute idiots. Derry’s Walls, the Sash, Build My Gallows?

Rangers are a SCOTTISH FOOTBALL TEAM, not a Northern Irish political institution.

See if you love Northern Ireland that much, please feel free to move there and sing your idiotic songs and give the rest of us peace.

Sing songs about RANGERS. End of.

{Ed001's Note - this is what I don't get. Why is no one singing songs about the players? You know, showing support for your team rather than something utterly unrelated to it. We used to spend hours before games trying to come up with new chants and telling everyone we knew them in the hope that they would be taken up by the stadium. Is that not a thing in Scotland? That can be so much fun, laughing at the terrible ones and then, chanting them for a laugh and realising actually it works.}

25 Aug 2019 12:20:42
C of Ibrox ok then by that logic let’s have a song at the next game about the Nepalese Gurkhas who fought as part of the British Army during WW1 and WW2?

25 Aug 2019 13:06:37
Aye great idea let's go!

25 Aug 2019 13:32:29
Ed, you’re missing the point, which is probably a credit to you that you don’t understand this mentality. To these people, Rangers and football are a distant 3rd in their priorities behind their hatred and fear of Catholics and their “loyalty” to Ulster, a place most of them have never been to and couldn’t find on a map. The funniest part of it is, I have a lot of Northern Irish pals who think west of Scotland people are absolute morons for singing about this stuff when they haven’t lived it. I remember one of my pals from Belfast absolutely rinsing some wee guy from Lanarkshire who was trying to lecture him about “heritage” and “tradition”. Just made him look like the stupid, ignorant wee boy he was. Which is what every Scottish person singing these songs is, regardless of their age. Stupid, ignorant wee boys. Stop the singing, support your team if you are really a fan.

{Ed001's Note - it is a shame because they are missing a huge part of the joy of support. Hatred is not fun.}

25 Aug 2019 18:31:07
And I respect yours mate. The UVF and YCV were regiments in the British Army who in fact do have a strong affiliation with our club ie armed forces days at ibrox etc and our friends across the water. My post was not aimed at blaming UEFA for us getting sent down the leagues I just meant in general but having read it back I can see why this may be misinterpreted.

We are certainly not coming for UEFA either. Just Celtic. Anyway I’m not going to dwell on this just wanted a different side of things put out there and will take whatever comes my way. Cheers.

24 Aug 2019 20:09:07
Think it was TJBB who posted earlier about how good ryan kent is naturally and how good he could become in the future. It was a very good post and one i totally agreed with.
The example he used was how good man city winger raheem sterling has become.
Now i'm most certainly NOT saying kent will go on to be as good as sterling, far from it but i do agree with TJBB and the similarities he was pointing out between sterling and kent. The thing is we just don't know how good kent can become. We all know that sterling is pure class and unplayable at times. Kent is already a good winger and for all we know, he could become a great winger.
I really do hope he becomes that great winger with us. Really hope we can sign kent permanently because he would undoubtedly the best winger we would have at ibrox, if he were to come back. Although kent isn't anywhere near as good as sterling, i do understand where TJBB was coming from,
as there is similarities in their play.

25 Aug 2019 18:21:19
In your opinion he would be the best winger at our club remember SGL it’s only an opinion not a FACT.

24 Aug 2019 20:08:00
We were by far the better team against legia for the first hour then we tired a wee bit but I'm so impressed by the giant strides forward in the last 18 month, (exciting season ahead, I think. W. A. T. P.

24 Aug 2019 19:47:39
Ed rumour has it that mhob are maybe getting Greg Taylor who's a rangers fan I was hopin we would have went for him instead as right now we really are struggling at left back lookin back now I think we should have kept lee Wallace and that's my honest opinion, Barisic is hot and cold Halliday is not a left back and Jon Flanagan is a right back we need to get this fixed as soon as and another striker aswell.

24 Aug 2019 19:58:32
I would like us to sign max lowe from derby county, as our new left back. Everytime i seen him playing against us with aberdeen, i was always impressed with him. Greg taylor is a decent left back, but max lowe is better.

24 Aug 2019 17:49:12
Ed if i'm now banned from this site for whatever known reason, please have the grace to post this and let me say bye to my 3 favorite posts in DOIGER, JYF and Coops. Thanks. Over an out.

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about. We gave up banning people and just delete accounts, so you will know if you are banned.}

24 Aug 2019 18:46:42
I asked a simple question which you haven't posted. Which songs do EUFA find offensive? It'll help all of us on this site and we can pass it on to fans. I asked if it's the Billy boys song which we all grew up with. No offense intended in the question. We can't address it until we know the definitive answer. Everybody's asking the question and no one's answering.

{Ed001's Note - it never came through to me.}

24 Aug 2019 19:04:31
Good to see your posting again kfraser. That was a nice gesture by you all the same pal. 👍.

24 Aug 2019 20:03:51
KFraser, it's pretty easy to distinguish offensive language and offensive narrative from non offensive. I question the intelligence of any grown adult who cannot tell the difference.

24 Aug 2019 21:24:51
Uefa****.

25 Aug 2019 18:23:26
Billy boys and super rangers would be the obvious 2. But like pstmo said if u put something in a song that you wouldn't want your kids or a family member called etc then that will be it. It's not rocket science.

24 Aug 2019 17:32:23
Great result and performance for the development squad v Ajax, future's bright👍.

24 Aug 2019 14:09:57
Just read an artical on Rangers news (unofficial) regarding safe standing, which has been pushed by the ubs. I then noticed the picture head lining the story and there is motor mouth mega phone guy wearing a balaclava. Need i say anymore. Pathetic.

24 Aug 2019 16:31:20
These guys need to be banned from Ibrox. No alternative but to increase Match Day security to identify and remove these guys from the ground.

24 Aug 2019 18:53:10
Why do they need to be banned?
Plenty on here have admitted to singing the same or similar songs when they were younger.
Aren't these young guys allowed a second chance?
And who made you Judge, Jury and Executioner?

24 Aug 2019 19:58:47
Lets go. No judge, jury or executioner. Just my view. And the point of 2nd chance. This has been on going since a game where paul le guen was manager. A game at Ibrox against dundee utd. Where Rangers gave out song books as to what songs we can sing. As for 2nd chance. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the chances.

24 Aug 2019 20:07:56
Why don’t we just go back to having ibrox like a morgue? 🤐.

24 Aug 2019 20:13:28
Wow. just wow.

24 Aug 2019 20:32:29
@jeo53 - le guen era? Most of the current UB would have been in nappies!

24 Aug 2019 20:43:23
Sharpshooters be careful what you wish for mate! just saying if the choir don't get their act together you'll get the morgue effect in an empty stadium.

24 Aug 2019 20:44:08
What am is it has been mentiond by RFC since then for it to end bud. And numerous times it has been ignored. All though the ubs are mostley young. They are still adults. We launch anyone anywhere and again bigotted songs affect the club. Like i said. I was at st joes game n was disgusted. The police filmed them and they start singing "stick your camera up your . we aee a family. Would you sign this crap at your family table!?

25 Aug 2019 09:38:03
@jeo53 - I don't sing these songs to begin with.
And why should they get a camera stuck in their face when all they are doing is enjoying the football with their mates?
They can't be doing wrong because the OBFA was scrapped by sympathetic Celtic MSP as it was targeting more Celtic fans than the big bad Rangers fans that they thought it would.
This is why Rangers fans need to wake up. There is an agenda against our club. And rightly or wrongly we need to clean up our act to stop giving these people ammunition to bring out club down. It's funny how we've got our act together on the park and are now looking to burst the 9IAR bubble that people are talking about points deductions?
Now it's not just a football problem, it's a society problem. But it's far easier and cheaper for the SNP Government to blame all Sectarian ills on football.
Banning the Union Bears from Ibrox will not suddenly cure Rangers of our Sectarian / Bigoted issues. That's a very simplistic outlook on whole problem.
Education is required at a young age and we have various groups that go into schools etc.

24 Aug 2019 13:46:14
What worries me is we only have two strikers right now Alfie and Defoe now Gers fans don’t bite here but there’s three young strikers in Scotland who I would happily take either brophy or Sam Cosgrove or the boy from hibs Kamberi out of they 3 they would be decent back up just sayin.

24 Aug 2019 14:18:43
If you put the best bits of all three into one player you might be getting close. Our third striker until January is Stewart, who is our poorest signing and still better than those three.

24 Aug 2019 19:06:30
Cosgrove is the only one I'd be interested in as his height would give us another dimension to our play. But Aberdeen would want a few million for him which is more than he's worth and way too much for our 3rd choice striker. don't think we'll see much of Stewart.

24 Aug 2019 20:09:04
Think you may need to broaden your horizons a tad big man.

24 Aug 2019 21:07:51
Greg Stewart is not a better player than cosgrove.

24 Aug 2019 12:44:07
Waggy on target again for Derby. Quality player, always liked him. Stevie G reckons he is a 9m player. Hard to argue with his assessment. Who thinks Waggy would have scored goals in our present team? I do.
Nice to see him doing well. Met him once when out with my daughter. She was a bit star struck as he was her favourite player. He did the whole selfie and autograph bit no problem . A very decent lad who still loves The Rangers.

24 Aug 2019 14:19:37
He was unlucky to be at the club at the wrong time. It happens.

24 Aug 2019 14:56:32
Not what we need, hopeless first time around and has done nothing to prove that he would be better next time around. He was punted for a reason, not good enough👍.

24 Aug 2019 15:40:00
Waggy not the standard we require.
See boy Kelly doing well at Ayr.

24 Aug 2019 17:24:51
He scored 27 goals in 57 appearances for us, albeit at lower levels, hardly a poor player, would like to have seen him in the SPL to see how he would do. He hit a quiet patch before he left so everyone craps on him.

24 Aug 2019 18:09:33
How many goals has waghorn scored in open play down there.

24 Aug 2019 19:07:41
Lawrence Shankland banging them in again. He scored another 2 for dundee utd today. that's something like 7 goals in 3 games.

24 Aug 2019 20:52:42
Let’s go buy Shankland, I’m sure we could get him for 5 million.
Sg loyal he is playing in championship and not even close to standard we need.

24 Aug 2019 21:08:26
Micheal Moffat is a good mate of mine. Met him s few days ago and asked him about young kelly, says he's some talent.

25 Aug 2019 10:47:05
Ok Coldo, I'll take your opinion over the manager's. Not! 👍.

24 Aug 2019 12:18:04
How many fellow bears feel that Barasic needs to be given a run of games in the team because I doubt that I am the only one that thinks Flanagan is absolutely not bringing anything to the game and maybe a run of games will start to bring the best out of a Croatian international.

24 Aug 2019 12:59:13
When Barasic plays for Croatia on the games I've seen he rarely crosses the half way line and is just a defender. He defends and then passes on to the front creative players, simple and it works. At Rangers he's been asked to perform a wing back role maybe that's where the sticking point is.

24 Aug 2019 13:09:29
I honestly don't know if the world is ready for 2 Caldo's? Ed can we have a poll to find out please 🙈.

24 Aug 2019 14:48:02
Would the real coldo please stand up🙌😂😂👍.

24 Aug 2019 15:40:58
Coldo I assume it’s not a reincarnation of u mate.

24 Aug 2019 16:00:24
No mate👍.

24 Aug 2019 16:18:03
Cool coldo, I enjoy my debates with you, don’t always agree but respect your views.

24 Aug 2019 16:18:56
@coldo has been cloned! Apparently the other 1974 versions kept on malfunction! 😱.

24 Aug 2019 16:24:58
Looking forward to our two coldos backing each other up in debates and then Ed calling them out as the same guy. Or is that a bit far fetched? 😉.

24 Aug 2019 16:33:17
When the ed calls us out for being the same guy when we are arguing with each other😱😂👍.

24 Aug 2019 12:03:54
First time poster and I would just like to say if Kent does come then great. I am sure he will be a great player for us and have no doubt he will have sell on value especially I hope I am right when we go to Europe group stages win the league and a cup. And let's all remember to do this we need strength and depth on bench as well so I for one am looking forward to this season.

24 Aug 2019 12:45:31
Not another coldo! God help us! Only kidding 👍.

24 Aug 2019 11:45:09
I predict theses so called fans will cost us SG.

24 Aug 2019 13:49:21
I agree John the problem is these folk just don’t care. They care way more about their ‘right’ to sing offensive songs and to hate much more than they care about rangers. They call all decent fans that want this to stop snowflakes and apologists and think there is some massive conspiracy and I hate to say it’s not help by this ‘no one likes us, we don’t care’ attitude that’s got even stronger over the last few years. It’s almost soul destroying to see so many ‘fans’ on the face book pages not listening to the club or the decent fans and professing that they’ll never stop as if it’s their god given right to be sectarian. I’m worried what will happen tomorrow as I can see some sections of our support singing some of this stuff on purpose as some kind of moronic protest. They really genuinely feel they are in the right and that we are being victimised in some way?!? It’d be like a murderer, caught red handed killing someone then protesting that they’re being picked on and victimised and other people commit crimes so why can’t they?

24 Aug 2019 15:44:10
Good reply ger. I watch them drink b4 game in street corners . Police do nothing.
Recently threaten my son in subway queue, all steaming all 6 off their rear ends fainted when I invited to come round the back. I’m 62.

24 Aug 2019 21:09:29
It's the reason I stopped taking my son to away games, a good portion of our away fans are a disgrace. Only interested in getting steaming n putting stuff up there nose n causing trouble. Was fed up trying to explain to him some of the nonsense that came out there mouth.

24 Aug 2019 11:31:25
"Dundee, Hamilton, Aberdeen and back again". think these are the correct words for Follow Follow. Why can't we get back to singing them?

24 Aug 2019 13:37:25
Original words were "if they go to Dublin"

24 Aug 2019 21:02:41
Nothing about these places in the original song.
Follow follow we will follow Rangers
Everywhere anywhere we will follow on
Follow follow we will follow Rangers
If they go to Dublin we will follow on.

Pure and simple and nothing contentious - oh wait, mentioning a foreign city like Dublin could be construed as racist!

There are also no sectarian words in The Sash or Derry's Walls if the proper words are used. And the same goes for dozens of other Rangers songs. However, I would like to know what Uefa has decided is 'racist'. the Fenians included protestants and people from various countries, it is political.

I'm led to believe that all the bit and this one word Fenian is our downfall in their eyes, so just don't do it. We all know (well, most of us know) what we are and there are other places and times where we can express our culture. We now need to give the club a break here or suffer the consequences.

It is no coincidence that this has happened after Lawwell was given a top position at Uefa and one of his acolytes was the 'observer' at the game in question. We are under attack from all sides, from the mhedia, the east end, from Uefa and from the SFA, all under the influence of the Paedo King Lawwell, a ruthless enemy who is going in for the kill. Losing a battle, however, will not mean losing the war, which we will win on the park. We must not do anything to make Stevie G reconsider his position here.

Kent? What you've got is, to use a cliche, a rough diamond. What is important to stress is he has natural attributes you are born with and can't coach: Speed, direction change, balance, physiology and intelligence. that's what we are buying. What you can coach is technique, positioning, mentality and goal scoring. If we can turn that rough diamond into a goal scoring reliable winger his value will go through the roof. i'm not saying he is as or will be as good as Raheem Sterling but he is a good example to use on how a winger can develop from decent to world class get into any team on the planet with the right coaches and team around him.

24 Aug 2019 11:40:47
true, but if all your teachings don't work what you have is still a rough diamond worth next to nothing. but that's the gamble we will have to take, maybe not in Kent necessarily but its the only way to make money in Scottish football as we aren't going to make many 25M players coming through the academy so will rely on unknown rough diamonds and hoping we can hone their edges and end up with the sparkling gem.

24 Aug 2019 19:15:01
Really good post TJBB. Raheem sterling has blossomed into an incredible winger, who is unplayable at times. Like you mate, i'm NOT for a minute suggesting that ryan kent will reach that level, but i agree there is similarities and i suppose you just never know. What i do know is that i rate kent a very good young winger, who would improve us even more, as he would be the best winger at ibrox, if we could only sign him. Here's hoping we can. 👏.

24 Aug 2019 19:22:19
gees, think your right, that's the Rangers model at the moment. To pick up players that can be turned onto EPL calibre and sell on for a profit. It actually makes good business sense and winners all round. It does depend on two things, 1. We must pick the correct players on the whole (we can allow for some mistakes) . 2. We must remain attractive to any real rough diamond otherwise they will go to the championship.
I would argue Gerrard, a full Ibrox and the europa league are the difference between us and the English Championship at the moment. Having all that helps to attract the likes of Aribo. His pals will be watching and thinking another trip to Hull, great. don't get me wrong though the championship is a good league and competitive week in and week out but most teams are average with average support, low expectation and not known throughout the world. When you are playing for Rangers its a whole different ball game. You have to be able to deal with world wide attention, media and fan scrutiny, domestic opposition from Celtic to East fife, European opposition, extreme weather, charity and community obligations and within all of those be expected to perform at 110% all the time. We are the special forces of football that's why so many can't handle it and so few make it to legend statis. I would include Celtic in my argument and most top teams to be balanced. Even when i'm saying that I still think you really can't hide, ever, in any position in Rangers or Celtic. That was longer than I anticipated, on 3rd glass of wine and waiting on takeaway. Have a great evening Bears and Edds.

24 Aug 2019 10:59:32
Wee don't need Kent. Good enough player but not worth the price. We need l. eft back. Just a pity we are concentrating on Kent when the manky mob are making bit on greg Taylor. As supporters we get ahead of ourselves going to win 55. Our transfer window was good but goes to show we spent money on CD, rest on free or development fee. Now wasting money on Liverpool development player that no one wants. When our focus should be on focus on reinforcing area we are week.

24 Aug 2019 11:04:59
Greg taylor before kent wow👍.

24 Aug 2019 11:38:45
@wee t - Gerrard wants him, I want him . That's good enough for me👍
P. S. I don't want Taylor👍.

24 Aug 2019 13:48:39
I certainly want ryan kent back at rangers. He can win games on his own and as proven, is the big difference in the big games. If we can get kent back, make no doubt about it, this could be the difference in us winning the league, or not! He's a superb winger, who will only get better and better. He's a game changer.

24 Aug 2019 14:11:52
Greg Taylor is rotten. I hope they sign him. Our wingers and Tav will show him in the boy’s gate.

24 Aug 2019 10:38:05
On transfermarkt, Kent's only valued at 1.75mill whereas the most amazing defender we've had, bombscare Joe worrall is valued at 6mill. How can we believe any of these valuations. Kent was player of the year whereas bombscare Joe ran half the length of Celtic park just to put in a crap tackle and let them score. Sign Ryan up.

24 Aug 2019 10:40:02
Couldn't agree more, get kent👍.

24 Aug 2019 11:48:53
Seen on transfermarket Alfredo's valuation is now up to £6.75m I think that was the correct figure.

24 Aug 2019 09:26:30
The songs will give those against us the excuse to deduct us points if we look like winning the league, whilst ignoring those sung by other clubs.
Don't play into their hands, our club comes first.

24 Aug 2019 11:03:45
Good point. It's time we came out of the dark ages. Leave that kind of stuff to the other side and we can sit back and see what the authorities do about them 👍.

24 Aug 2019 15:47:40
Ferintosh no it does not, the clubs in Scotland voted against strict liability, you need all 40 clubs to vote for it, never going to happen.
Listen to Fraser wishart explanation on how rules are passed in our game.

24 Aug 2019 20:30:24
A few posters are asking what the songs were which UEFA has taken action on. No answers yet and I think it's vital that the fans are told. We all grew up with we are the Billy boys song.

24 Aug 2019 09:13:17
Hi everyone, regarding the sectarian singing issue, just to be clear to all fans can someone list what songs are inappropriate just in case some might think a certain song is ok . Thanks.

24 Aug 2019 11:46:34
to me its simple, if you think that by saying a word in your workplace could be offensive and get you into trouble then be assured the same word will get you into trouble in public. i fear for our future, this punishment is for the earlier games. if there is any reports from the Danish or Polish games we may already be too late and find our eurogames are played behind closed doors this season. never mind though any penalties will have already killed any profits we may have gained anyway. also what sponsor wants to be linked to a sectarian club always getting in trouble with the ruling body.

24 Aug 2019 13:32:00
This is simple no more BB no more no more up to our knees just get behind the team if those who live in the dark ages refuse to stop then it empty stadium then next step is banned out of Europe then finances dip players leave replaced by cheaper players then it’s dropping back down the league fans are like snow off a dyke and back to square one, so if these knuckleheads TrueType love their club please stop put the club first no more.

24 Aug 2019 08:10:25
Back to the football, and it's a good opportunity to put some pressure on Celtic tomorrow by putting 3 points on the board as we play first👍
Remember this is all down to their inability to beat a poor Cluj side or it would have been the opposite way around if they had qualified for the CL👍.

24 Aug 2019 07:31:41
So I know it's not a rumour, and I know it's being discussed on other threads here, but as someone who is somewhat detached from the religious identity of being a rangers fan, my perspective may have some worth. You see, I'm a Jew, and I swear, there isn't a single person who loves our club more than I.

My point is more about where do we start, than how do we solve. Education, societal ingrained hatred, deeply rooted family prejudices etc etc cannot be eradicated by us in entirety, this is unrealistic. However we, as a group of fans can look in the mirror and aim for higher. We can control our own voices, and just try to see beyond the hatred. (of religion that is. Nobody hates Celtic more than I! )

If we consider the songs we sing as a starting point, then let's follow Liverpools example. Let's look towards having songs about players, or famous moments in our history, rather than the bigoted tripe we so readily spout. Check out Jamie Webster, the Liverpool fan on youtube singing about big VV Dyke. It's more than rousing, it's absolutely incredible. The entire support now sing this and watching it after the Champions league final was emotional even to me, and I've no connection to their club. They also have awesome songs about Mane, Salah and others.

As for us, we almost never have a song about a player. Even the Novo one focused on what he wasn't (one of them) as opposed to what he was (a wee gem of a player for US) .

Martin Luther King. "I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear. " Now, I'm almost certain big Martin wasn't a rangers fan, but his words are relevant. Let's start focusing on what we are, which is the world's most successful club, and not what we have been taught (misplaced to start with) to hate. We might just enjoy it more.

24 Aug 2019 11:51:46
Great post gooner👍.

24 Aug 2019 19:29:24
Makes a lot of sense Gooner. Unfortunately it will fall on deaf ears for many. Go into any boozer around Ibrox pre-match n every banned song is being belted out proudly. There's a culture of bigotry, mostly 90 minute bigotry, it's rife and I don't care what anyone says. West Coasters lap it up. I'll finish with adding to other poster's sentiments about the increase in links with Orange Order during recent seasons, and the increase in orange being worn at Ibrox. When most of your team's support think the Orange Order is a riddy, and everyone else thinks the Orange Order is a riddy it's time to wake up. Draconian outfit supported in large by morons.

The blue and orange sea of Ibrox? 🍊.

24 Aug 2019 05:28:30
As a supporter I've been for over 40 years I supported the club at its lowest point and attended every home match from 1981 till 2009 I can't now becouse my health is not the same anyway I hear the fans are misbehaving I'm not going to the slate the fans I made many friends along the way I'm proud of our following the way most of us back the club but please anyone reading this that doesn't follow the club's rules remember your hurting the club and innocent people are suffering becouse of your actions think about that for a minute before you walk into Ibrox again.

24 Aug 2019 11:04:45
Well said.

Review Of The Day 24th August 2019

24 Aug 2019 07:39:02
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 24th August 2019

24 Aug 2019 00:58:45
First time post. So far as I'm aware, Rangers have no connection with the Orange Order and therefore it has always seemed strange to me that the club and genuine fans tolerate the singing of some songs which are predominantly associated with that organisation and bands who follow them. We have plenty of good songs relative to our club for fans to sing and support the team. This is the 21st century and there is no place for the tribalism which some people think acceptable in our club, football or society in general. Rangers were and should always strive to be the benchmark as a club and as an institution. Unfortunately we seem to be losing that status due to the repeated unacceptable conduct of some of our support. Onwards and upwards and here's hoping we can rid ourselves of these issues and once again become the respected club and organisation respected the world over.

24 Aug 2019 04:30:38
Ibrox is Blue. Not Orange 🔴⚪🔵.

24 Aug 2019 07:21:59
Have you done any research into the songs that were in trouble for b4 posting? None of which i would say are OO songs. The billy boys is our song everybody knows the back ground of the song. Obviously rangers have there own pc version that used to be on old VHS videos. And the other song were being punished for is we are rangers super rangers everybody knows rest. don't sound like OO song either.

24 Aug 2019 08:06:27
I have had same 2 seats in club deck for 28 years and barring the odd moronic interloper, behaviour of the section is exemplary. So why are we shunted again It feels like club deck fans who incidentally pay a premium for their seats are consistently those affected when sections of the stadium are closed. The clubs statement is clear and I as a proper Rangers fan understand that someone has to take the hit on behalf of the idiots so me and my son will get on with it and take one for the team. Hopefully the imbeciles who bring shame on us and in doing so ensure Celtic get an easy ride in the media will just crawl off and haunt somewhere else.

24 Aug 2019 08:41:03
Well said TF.

24 Aug 2019 08:43:48
Truefan I could not have put it better, the people who live in the past and sing these songs either stop singing them or stop attending Ibrox the club does not need you, you bring nothing but shame to our club so stop have a think about it and decide.

24 Aug 2019 08:59:32
FYI, until relatively recently the Orange Order held an annual Church parade at Ibrox Stadium, obviously sanctioned by our club. And, we're not talking about the KuKlux Klan or the National Front here, as if they are some sort radical movement, as the tone would imply. That said, I do agree that the songs have no place at our games and we have plenty of amazing songs we can sing. There is a time and a place for the other songs if people are that way inclined, just not at our matches.

24 Aug 2019 09:43:57
Agree 100%. a large contingent come from NI and bring there bile with them, save money stay at home and support your own club not The Famous GLASGOW RANGERS.

Supporters buses need to stop playing all the UVF and anti catholic, king billy crap as well.

24 Aug 2019 11:01:07
They’re not a million miles away from the KKK or the NF. They’re an institution whose primary motivation is the celebration of religious wars from hundreds of years ago. Absolutely backwards and anyone with a semblance of intelligence should be absolutely embarrassed to have any association with them.

24 Aug 2019 20:22:23
The songs need to go, i sang them as a teenager but not as an adult and religious hatred was certainly not my reasoning for signing them, I feel no I’ll will to anyone because of their religion but I cannot go Celtic fans, and I hate them as a club despite many of my closest friends supporting them, I separate this from our friendship and I actually have great banter with them involving the rivalry. I’m sure they feel the same about Rangers! We need the club to produce a banned list of songs I feel and take it from there. The songs may take a generation to die out but the club has taken the lead and I congratulate them on it!
