Im glad that Doukara didn't arrive I feel that he did not have the quality that we need.
In saying that it basically comes down to finances and it looks like Pedro has spent all of it, so unless Ped can unearth a diamond from somewhere for 500k and we might not even have that lying around then the only route open to us is loans!
I would rather bring in loans than spend 3/ 4/ 500k on a Player AND have him under contract for 2/ 3yrs!

The big Clubs down South and Europe have huge Squads and we should try and bring in a Player whos been kept out the Team and needs games, not all these guys are 18/ 19. There must be Players of experience that we can get, hate saying it but if we had the offer of Europe we would be a far more attractive option but we do have excellent Training facilities and are a huge Club.

So here's hoping Pedro has something up his sleeve or our finances are not depleted but imo we would still need at least a couple of million to bring in what we need.

25 Aug 2017 06:14:17
Andy that's a better idea loan a player of a certain calibre who we know can play football but is kept out a team because there is a £30 mill player at the top of the pecking order.

25 Aug 2017 07:50:43
Perhaps the curtains placed on glass stairwells has got something to do with recent terror threat and is a safety measure.

25 Aug 2017 07:57:13
Was There ever any interest in doukara?

25 Aug 2017 09:24:59
Albertz no one will ever know or care he is rank rotten. What we should be worried about is the players we do have, we should have got naismith back as he is a far better striker than anyone we have.

25 Aug 2017 10:13:42
Why would covering the glass stairwell have anything to do with the terrorist threat?

Why the board can't issue a simple statement to fans to let them know the score baffles me.

So much for transparency.

25 Aug 2017 10:33:47
I can't believe that people are treating an HITC rumour with credibility. Not one has came to fruition yet. Absaloute garbage similar to a woman's gossip magazine.
If Roger Hannah, Mark Guidi, Chris Sutton, Peter Martin and Hugh Keevens sat in a room and talked waffle all night as I'm sure they do regularly. It still wouldn't be as great a whopper as that of an HITC rumour.

25 Aug 2017 10:38:48
Who cares why just get it down. Maybe this is the cheap effort of revamping the stadium. Saying that I will gladly wrap it round the side of my house when there done with it.

25 Aug 2017 14:16:26
I have been told it costs a fortune to keep clean - I don't think it had been cleaned in ages and looked s***.
I know I would have to have scaffolding on the inside and a cherry picker outside before a shammy was dipped.

Good housekeeping or skint?

25 Aug 2017 14:40:47
Transparency 😂😂😂. Maybe that's why they covered the windows up.

24 Aug 2017 20:39:23
Unfortunately Niko is way past his best. Far too slow and keeps getting caught in possession. If Windass could find a bit of heart he has potential. Definitely need a left sided player to come in but I think DK has put the cheque book away.

25 Aug 2017 06:15:32
Ive said it a few times niko slows the tempo down and its frustrating to watch, he lunges into challenges he is a red card waiting to happen.

24 Aug 2017 19:43:06
Got a feeling that the deal involving the lad from Man. City may have been blown out of proportion! What I mean is that I think we have brought this lad up here to have a better look at him, the same thing we done with Bates. I hope that we get to see the guy but he may be one for the future in Peds eyes which still means we really do need to bring in a Winger imo.
Not sure if we have the funds to bring in a quality Winger but bringing in a Player of a decent age to strengthen the Left Wing and competition for Wallace must be on the cards.

24 Aug 2017 21:14:47
Said the same yesterday, but I got mixed up and said beerman. Looks like that's what it is though

24 Aug 2017 21:55:25
Albertz, I like Beerman I think he has bags of ability he's fast and good at running at Players with the ball.
But like others (Barjonas, Burt, Atayak) their young and I'm not sure if Beerman is physically ready, he could be? I'm definitely not saying he shouldn't be put in. The only way to find out is to give him his chance and the County game could be ideal.
As for Burt I've heard good things but he is well down the pecking order for that position, would love to see Atayaki get on but again at 17 its asking a lot. I think having him on the bench and bringing him on if we have the game sewn up! if we had say a 3 goal lead then put him on. I really do think that these 3 Players have huge potential and Pedro should utilise them in games under right circumstances! In saying that Ajax fielded a Player at 17 in a European game, can't mind his name but was a defender and in the Europa Final so maybe too much emfinese on age.

25 Aug 2017 09:55:33
All these people saying that Burt and Atakayi should be given a chance in the first team obviously haven't watched these guys struggling in the under 20's. If they are not setting the heather alight in there what makes people think they have a chance in the first team.

24 Aug 2017 19:05:08
OPINIONS/ THOUGHTS.
Do we think that we are done doing anymore business regarding actual Transfers involving Fee's coming into Ibrox?
Do we think that Pedro has used all of the funds raised or could there be a chance that King etc could provide Pedro with the means to bring in 1 or even 2 quality Players?
Is there any point in doing this or can this Team provide a decent challenge and at the very least secure 2nd with a healthy gap in front of 3rd.
I think that we may see another loan come in and Dodoo loaned out with poss a couple of the other younger lads.
IMO if this Team can get a run of wins and when Pena is introduced he hits ground running, something which for some reason has been mocked by a lot of people which is crazy! as NONE of us know just how good OR bad this guy is. Pedro must have seen something about him and with everything that's been said if the guy doesn't score a couple and provide a few assists he'll be deemed a flop!

24 Aug 2017 19:46:58
Yes I think 1 more

No should have bought less players better quality.

If we can't get second we must invest

24 Aug 2017 21:20:09
Imo Aberdeen have recruited best so far over the summer. I thought they would have struggled with loosing some of their starting 11 but have recruited well and improved. It will be a fight for 2nd between us and Aberdeen, with hibs not too far behind.

24 Aug 2017 21:58:29
Well it was mark allen who brought him in not pedro.

24 Aug 2017 18:09:38
None of us know what kind of impact Pena will have on the Team when he is introduced.
For me I would have him playing in between the midfield and attack (Morelos) .
The formation I would like to see Caxinha use would be a 4-4-1-1.
From what I've read we have actually had a decent supply rate but we just can't convert these opportunities into GOALS!
If Pena does come in and has an impact of such that we do start being more lethal in final third then do we think that we should use the funds we have (if any? ) in bringing in a new Wing Back?
I always thought Wallace was a good solid Player BUT I'm now thinking that its an area that needs improved. It comes down to money tho and ideally I would like to see a quality Winger arrive.
IF tho we only have the funds (1or2m) to spend then I think bringing in a Left Back supersedes the Wing!
Loans may be our only option and you never know just how good a Player will be.
I just hope Pena will have an big impact on the Team and we go on a run which I think this Team desperately needs in the build up to the Old Firm game.

24 Aug 2017 18:40:52
Mate I just feel that Tav and Wallace would walk into any team in spl outwith Celtic. We are out of Europe and I don't think it's best for team to spend what we have on a FB to compete in spl. Next season yeah buy 2 FBs
If we buy a left winger then I believe we have a strong first 11 who should finish second comfortably. If we don't then from what Iv heard Pedro hasn't met his objectives and will go.

24 Aug 2017 18:47:54
Andy your a rare breed on here someone that actually talks sense. We must give Pedro time to implement his way and if it works great and it not then we just go fwd again.

24 Aug 2017 19:13:20
Here here andy. Altho i had a thought. same formation but atm play niko in the hole. And freddo up top. Let niko just play in the opposition half he can thread a pass bring players in and won't need to track back. Force other teams to keep more men back. Mayeb i'm bonkers lol but pedro will come good. Its been a long time since we had the pleasure of having international players on the bench etc.

24 Aug 2017 19:17:16
In the words of the late and greater Father Ted, careful now!
Theres not much place here for that kind of talk lol

25 Aug 2017 00:37:05
Yeah Kri55 I could see Niko playing in that position also, I know that Niko isn't exactly fast but that position should suit him and he can play through balls to Morelos or with his ability can hold ball and play in Dorrans when pushing forward or out wide to Candieas etc.
We haven't had the best of starts and even taking the blue tinted specs off the Support must realise that we have a squad of Players who can create opportunities in the final third! Players like Dorrans, Candieas and the way Windass can operate on the left, just makes me think that over time with more games under their belt, they can only get better and click together, these Players plus when Pena gets on are attacking creative Players who will not only get goals for themselves but provide for Morelos etc. The 2 CH's ARE solid and Jack can do a job 100%. We just need our 2 full backs to be on their game and work their arse off.
This Team has all the attributes to be successful and we the Support need to give them and Caxinha time! as 3 games is in no way enough time to judge!

25 Aug 2017 08:23:21
Andy some people are never happy. We could win every dame 1-0 n they wouls moan we haven't scored more. I've said a good 2nd and a cup will be a huge improvement.

24 Aug 2017 12:56:02
Hi as a man in his 50's I have supported rangers all my life and am growing tired of the whingers on this site as regard to the teams performance so far, I Imagine most of the whingers are in there 20's and 30's as let's face it between 86/ 87 and 2011/ 2012 we won 16 flags in 25 years a run of success like never before I grew up when things weren't quite so rosy I remember between 77/ 78 and 86/ 87 we went 8 years without winning a title and we were in the top ten richest clubs in Europe at that time, Pedro was a strange signing but we must let him fulfill his contract although I would cut back steadily on the money available to him if he is showing no upside and hopefully in 3 to 4 years our dof will have produced a new generation of rangers ready stars to compete with Celtic I think patience in the long run will win out .

24 Aug 2017 13:59:17
Another brilliant perspective and voice of reason. Like you larky, I too am a man of a certain age and remember past years with nothing to shout about. We must bring some stability to the club and stick with Pedro, for the time being at least. We do not have access to limitless funds to buy our way out of this one and need to build year on year

24 Aug 2017 14:04:33
careful boys! sounds dangerously close to common sense ;)

24 Aug 2017 14:20:30
Aye very good yous are old big whoop. Rangers were goid then bad then better. We grew up with souness taking over then sir walter now this keek. Its no about winning everything all the time, for me its about rangers and celtic being a few points apart last old firm of the season the buzz pure madness, that's what's missing excitement. No had that in a long time. Drawing with hearts 0-0 at ibrox, teams dobt care when they come to govan now the think they can get a result and there right. Bring back the fear.

24 Aug 2017 14:38:40
We've had 6 years in the doldrums and Willie Waddell and Jock Wallace wouldn't have accepted this. It's not a sign of lack of patience when you consider the time frame. If Pedro wants to stake his Ibrox career on picking Kenny Miller at his age in a midfield role, good luck to him. He can fail and move on but us Rangers fans can't. His team selection, press interviews and a couple of questionable signings don't inspire a lot of confidence. 4 points out of 9 is a failure.

24 Aug 2017 14:44:05
Fod, I'm with you with those sentiments too mate but look at where we've been these past years and all that has happened to us. As much as I will love us to just pick up from where we left off, it ain't going to happen like that I'm afraid. One step at a time sir and we'll be back, maybe not this year or next but it'll happen. I'm not blessed with patience either but know things go in cycles, and ours isn't far away from beginning.

24 Aug 2017 14:51:27
Cletus, like kfraser has just said its a fail already. PC has signed rubbish players and is definitely 3 more bad results and he will be finished. i'm fed up with watching the team struggle against pure sheite teams, out of europe at the first hurdle was an alarm bell for me.

24 Aug 2017 14:56:01
Does not matter what age you are we all need to stand by who ever is our manager through the good times and the bad times said it once say it again some people on here want success rite here rite now while the others have patience and give manager time but rangers and pedro don't have a magic wand so we all just need to grin an bear it just now and stand by support pedro the players and the club

24 Aug 2017 14:56:58
Well let's hope our cycle starts with pedro on his bike.

24 Aug 2017 15:11:16
Well said Larkyinoz Iam also in my fifties and remember going to Ibrox when there was maybe 8000 going to the games and going to meaningless games in midweek when the league was out of site, Its about time some posters on here took a reality check,

24 Aug 2017 15:18:32
Kaymer no magic wand, maybe its a magic hat your after. Seriously though do you think we are that thick to believe we can win everything right away, especially with this bunch of rag tag misfits.

24 Aug 2017 15:20:45
Kfraser Jock Wallace 2nd stint was not very successful truth being told. I went to many an abismal game. Skol cup was quite often our only silverware

24 Aug 2017 15:43:11
Well gents I see we all have mixed feeling about how our club should be moving forward and how its going to achieve it. The only thing we can do is let them get on with what they are doing, watching games in complete frustration because we can't put the ball in the net. Yous old guys will be used to that apparently so you won't mind it, I won't enjoy it.

24 Aug 2017 16:02:05
Fod honestly can't put the ball in the net? 4 Competitive scottish matches scoring 10 goals? Conceding 4. Aye that's right we can't put the ball in the net. Hibs game we were unlucky with a ref. And will admit the hearts game was just one of those games we could have played another 90 minutes and never scored. But they parked the bus.

24 Aug 2017 17:15:27
Aww your counting that 6-0 game, that got your blood pumping and your brain thinking that's us back haha then hibs happened. Every team in scotland apart from that mob will park the bus and guess what they do it to celtic too.

24 Aug 2017 17:15:36
Larkyinoz

In all your years of suppprting Rangers have you ever witness a worse result in Europe than we had under Pedro? Did you ever witness such a beating at home to Celtic in the league? Did you ever witness such a timid performance in a cup semi final against them? This whinging as you call it is down to some fans being utterly sick of substandard performances from the team. The manager had a distinctly average record so far as manager and the fact he has no previous experience in Scotland doesn't bode well

24 Aug 2017 18:03:30
Larkyinoz my problem with your post is not the rubbish contained in it, its the comments after it "voice of reason", "common sense" etc, WHAT! Have I got this right, you think we should give pedro till the end of his contract even if he's not doing well but cut his budget back year on year and somehow we will come out of this stronger. I have no patience, none, I admit that but how long will this take and all the while sticking by a crap manager? Common sense aye OK

24 Aug 2017 18:23:02
Some actual clued up fans commenting now, I like where this is going. We can't have this anymore sheite managers and players and the board seem happy to fund this all. Someone help us for real this time.

24 Aug 2017 18:31:00
I will fully admit its not been the best start. No problem agreeing with that. But to chastise the team and manager so early on i don't get that at all. We aren't going to sweep celtic aside we are fighting to get a good second place and hopefully a cup and if at the end of the season we get that then i will be very happy at the improvement as that's what this is, its about improving and that takes time. We don't have a team to compete with celtic over a season yet and if everytime we get a manager and he has a poor run we want him out well that's seems mental to me, things take time.
Listen at the end of the day we all want them winning and i am sure that if he did go on a good run of form you would be happy as would all of us. its just i don't get wanting him out already.

24 Aug 2017 22:15:51
Well Sparky I do agree the European result is a very low point and the Celtic result at Ibrox was very poor no getting away from that but a lot of blame must lay at the players feet and Jyf yes I would give Pedro less money if the guys he brought in weren't performing over time and expect him to fill the gap with our up and coming players.

25 Aug 2017 06:08:11
I hope you never get made chairman larkyinoz!

25 Aug 2017 13:24:50
Fodtheprod you say it's all about Rangers and Celtic and a few points between them at the end of the season are you real let's just look at the teams Pedro has spent somewhere in region of ten million bringing in eight players getting rid of probably not far short of same number so ten million Celtic have single players worth three or four times that price we are where we are do you really think ten million can close the gap get real over the season we need to catch Aberdeen and grab second spot we have now got DOF in and he needs to get our scouting system up and running all we're shut down by last board we need to get good young players in and develope them and
bring in two or three players a season not eight and nine they need time to settle I've lived through the lean years I've sat in Ibrox with barely ten thousand of a crowd but this team will get better it's a better team now than last year and the window hasn't closed yet so let's just see what happens he must be given this season to get the team going then look at where we are come June 2018

25 Aug 2017 14:03:44
In all your supporting Rangers did you ever for a moment think we would end up in admin, liquidation and the bottom tier of Scottish football, no me neither . We have fallen a great distance and it will take a lot of effort to get back to the peak, sacking managers every season won't help. We need to tough it out ; don't let those with an agenda against our club be the winners we must stay strong.

24 Aug 2017 12:52:34
Ex loaned Jon Toral leaves Arsenal to join Hull - undisclosed fee - per SSnewz

24 Aug 2017 14:30:27
Who cares about ex loan players, toral was jobbie. Injury prone jobbie, next.

24 Aug 2017 10:01:00
Rangers are mediocre at best with no obvious ways of improvement. I'm afraid this is as good as it gets for the foreseeable future. Rangers have became an average middle of road team that's on a par with a dundee, Motherwell or Kilmarnock. Pedro's wasted the money and now there's nothing left. I'm sure there's lots of realistic fan's out there realise the situation that things are bad, but how bad can it get? . can they get to 10 in row? no chance! . it'll probably be more like 20.

24 Aug 2017 10:32:36
Easypeasy at least someone on hear has taken there blue tinted glasses off and can see what's really going in. Rangers have been away too long and it really has affected our club big time. I think we are not able to operate at a huge size when the team on the park are as bad. Will it get better I hope so but the way its looking is doubtful.

24 Aug 2017 10:43:10
we are only 3 games into the season you have written us off already.

i'll contact rangers now see if I can get a refund on my season ticket. if its not going to get better I won't waste my saturdays

24 Aug 2017 11:00:32
Maybe you should

24 Aug 2017 11:28:24
Silly comment really, we are 3 games into the season and we have pretty much a brand new squad and the transfer window is still open for another week. How can you say we are on par with teams like Dundee, Kilmarnock etc is beyond me. If anything, we are on par with Aberdeen, hearts and behind Celtic. They have been able to advance with the money they have saved for the last 4 seasons and bring in a high quality manager at any level.

Again, this is a season (as much as i hate to say it) where we go for 2nd place and a cup win. The start of the season hasn't went well, but for you to throw your toys out the pram and it's not even September yet is ridiculous. Why not try getting behind your team just now, support the manager and the team.

24 Aug 2017 12:42:48
Ally, I've been behind this team all my life but we have been forced to get behind a number of fuds in the last 6 year. I think most of us are opening our eyes now. You are too hoping for second and a wee diddy cup run. I honestly hope i'm wrong and PC can pull it off and you can come back on and read me saying I was wrong.

25 Aug 2017 17:21:57
Fodtheprod, nice to see you agree on our team's fortunes and failings with easypeasy, the biggest mhanky on here. It demonstrates to me that the only thing that brings you to this forum is to put Rangers down.

25 Aug 2017 17:23:31
Could be An idea, going to be a long tough season to watch.

24 Aug 2017 05:12:34
I'd like to see Pedro go with either Morelos/ Herrera or Morelos/ Hardie giving a go up top. Give Kenny a rest see how the other lads do.

24 Aug 2017 07:34:38
Totally agree, hope PC is thinking the same.

24 Aug 2017 14:47:51
I would like to see us convert the chances we create, direct runs at goals, windass was trying this but looks like he's being told to chill for some reason. Keep niko out the squad he's mince.

24 Aug 2017 15:24:16
and what do you come back and say when they don't score, you criticise the man for not fielding one of our best players. No one can win with use lot. It takes time to build a team an the ones moaning about it are the same ones that bragged we would win the league in the first season.

Most of us are hopeful to get first but considering where we have been and the teams we got beat from in the lower leagues i don't think it is too bad that we finished third last year. All the teams in the top 6 have progressed. If Aberdeen, Hearts, Rangers, Celtic and ST Johnston finally start bringing Scotland back to regular European football, it will be good all round.
