Great news tonight to hear that John Greig "The Greatest Ever Ranger" has been made Honorary President of the club! Can only be great things ahead if he is back at the club.

King mentioned in his press conference that they would need to spend £30m and that they would buy SPL quality players.
I have no idea who we would actually sign. As we signed SPL quality when we went down to the third division and look how that turned out!
I really hope that youth is the way we go with a mixture of some experienced players.

i think we need a good right back penalty to penalty box midfielder a stricker and vulkik that's the minimum zaluskas macgregor and gasparato would probably do for centre defence if gaspurrato is as good as everyone says (never seen boy)but if finances allow I would like to see alan hutton back vulkik and allan plus striker would keep k miller would let aird hutton and mackay go and possibly robbie crawford go along with black boyd moshni foster daly simonsen and maculloch go not sure about stevie smith have always liked him I also think macall should get the job with a 1 year contract to start with he has at least he has brought the best out of some players who were good when they came but went back the way under titmarch and forgot don't know what to do with templeton I think probably let him go because he has not featured under macall either

Agree3 Disagree1

24 May 2015 09:54:20
Think we need better players than you mention if he want to try and start challenging Celtic. I know Murray said 5 years however I don't think the fans would take to kindly to heavy beatings off that lot. Hutton is a good shout however his wages, possible fee and the fact Villa survived makes him highly unlikely. Would like to see Allan signing however that will be difficult. As for other signings we need them all over the park. Hopefully all of the out of contract players will go and a lot of wages will be freed up

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2015 11:21:19
It will be a completely different Rangers team next year, especially if we are in the top league. If we can pick up some players who would not cost a fortune eg Vuckic, Allan, and blend them with some good youth - Murdoch, Walsh, Hardie, Gallacher, Gasparotto, we could have the makings of a good side that might challenge Celtic sooner than you think. Apart from the above I'd expect to keep Bell, Zaliukas, McGregor, Wallace, Shiels, Miller (1 more season), maybe Law as I think he might come good under McCall if he keeps the job. Oh aye and Foster (only kidding Stewie!). With the freed up wages from the departing and with some decent signings we just might make an impact. Just hope it's not in the Championship! (I keep getting a recurring nightmare where wee Mcdonald scores 2 goals in the last minute of the second match a la Helicopter Sunday)

king keeps going on about losing £20m but I am certain he got the best part of his money back through murray sports he may have lost some of his money but not it all but its the future which is now down to him and the 3 brs he asked fans to boycott which many did(unfortunetly for him they have not all returned due to finding other ways to spend their saturdays and their money) we will see how many season books are sold but everything is now down to them to fulfil there promises it will be a test of kings resolve if as I posted on rumour site celtic make a move for vulvuk and we don't that could be the barometer of things to come

Agree2 Disagree1

25 May 2015 08:27:31
Noddy the youths you mentioned couldn't even challenge the ce**tic youths the other night ,this is not and never was the rout to go down, there is only room for two at most youngsters in the team at any one time IMO.

24 May 2015 07:55:35
Allan is VERY quick, foster was actually quite good. We set up to counter attack JYF. I don't care home we go up aslong as we go up

Agree2 Disagree0

24 May 2015 09:09:17
My point OSA is that you said it was a fantastic performance all round, well if we have two more or even one more fantastic performance like that we won't go up we were out played all over the pitch and when you are set up to defend then if the unthinkable happened and they scored again we would have struggled to change our mindset and would be hanging on for penalties against an inferior team.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 May 2015 09:54:14
I know for a fact that on thursday it'll be back to a 4 at the back, we knew hibs needed to go all out attack and we set up to frustrate them. They managed to score in the 93rd minute, we will go up. Just as usual you are picking small faults.

Totally spot on mate great post. People on here getting carried away as usual. They seem to think the season started once we reached the play offs and forget about the turgid rubbish we have produced for most games this season. As you say we were fortunate. Hanging on at home against QOTS then being mainly outplayed by Hibs and just being lucky their finishing was appalling. Now all of a sudden players who have been shocking all season are heroes

I take your point Stewie, but we are still in a good position to go up. Let's get over the line, regroup and see how the close season goes. Don't see any point in looking back. Where does that get anybody? Re the performance yesterday I thought the team played as a team. Some good performances, a wee bit of luck and a lot of hard work - fair enough, don't think you can ask for a lot more than that. It's all about pushing us over the line. Looking for a big crowd on Thursday to roar the team into a first leg lead. Same as Hibs would do nicely

That's why I disagree.

SERIOUSLY MCCULLOCH BACK

MCCALL deserves now to lose the manager's post for two reasons

1 Tactically It is obvious to a blind and deaf person McCulloch was the complete weak link passenger in the team ruining the defence and team harmony

2 Authority not being able to stand up to McCulloch backing down the moment he is fit, clearly it was only injury that spared us the torture of him playing.

Prediction 2 goals lost by defence can we score 2 or more?

Annoyed and disappointed in mcCall

What are you on. mccalls tactics where spot on hibs had plenty of the ball but how many clear cut chances did they have. People like you see the negative in everything!

Agree9 Disagree0

23 May 2015 17:44:41
McCulloch is past his best but it was obvious to most that hibs would try n bombard us with lots of balls into the box early doors and McCulloch is prob still best in the air at the club.
Team and tactics were spot on. Shiels got my MOTM today, he worked tirelessly off the ball and tracked back superbly. What a difference it is when you see a team work hard and this has been missing last few years. They stuck to game plan which again has been missing last few years.
Bring on the Well!

23 May 2015 18:13:16
Spot on Scotty123.

Always thought we would see the real Sheils after the greedy gardener left and personally I hope he remains at Ibrox.

It has been a rank rotten season but at least we can end it on a high with Stuart in charge.

Agree2 Disagree0

Sometimes you have to apologise and admit you are wrong and I was.

I still think that McCulloch should not be allowed on the pitch and I am very concerned about the 2nd leg v Motherwell when McGregor is barred due to bookings. Hoping that we can get the same breaks as at home to Hibs at Ibrox and take a 2 goal lead to Fir Park.

My biggest area of concern is McDonald as I am sure he will burst a gut trying to repay celtic for helicopter Sunday and to get one over on us.

All said and done we are a poor team so we have do very well thanks to McCall's organisation and tactics just to reach the playoff final.

On a separate note how pathetic are Hibs supporters they can't even sell out an SPFL playoff game against Rangers, sad excuse for fans. Rangers at least had a good 40000+ fans at Ibrox.

I did apologise and put my hands up after the game I was wrong I was just annoyed the person on 75k a month that had jinxed our defence should not have been in team he fitted into the system though and thankfuly McGregor and Zaliukas were there to do the actual defending McCulloch was not our last line of defence

Kt i'm no fan of mcculloch either. And if things would of went wrong today because of mcculloch then mccall would of struggled to keep hold of job but he got his tactics and selection spot on in my opinion. 2-0 sometimes can be a problem because u don't no to stick are twist but I thought we coped well with hibs up umtil 94 minute. So well done mccall

11 heroes. A big well done to the team. Thought Zaliuskas and especially Camm Bell were outstanding. He has come in for some really harsh criticism lately. I think it has been nothing short of scandalous considering how many games he missed

Noddy

Just wanted your thoughts on the number of times Allan went by Foster as if he wasn't there?

Agree1 Disagree2

23 May 2015 20:11:47
I take it you are a perpetual glass half full kind of guy, Stewie? Allan has been doing the same to full backs all season. That's why he was named player of the Championship. I assume there will be no concession any time soon re giving Richard Foster even a smidging of credit for much improved displays? In any case I prefer to take the positives from a performance and am looking forward to taking on Motherwell.
On another note - what did you think of Cammy Bell's performance? I heard you're not a fan of his either. Or Zaliukas? How about him?

Agree2 Disagree0

23 May 2015 20:50:21
I try a look at the bigger picture and how the team would fare in the top league. To me Foster and Zaliukus aren't good enough and aren't the answer in the top league. It's incredible how you and some others forget about the performances and the reason why we are in the play offs. Remember a few years ago on here I said Ally wasn't the answer as manager and took pelters from people. Look how that turned out

Agree0 Disagree1

23 May 2015 21:23:25
i agree about foster but don't see much wrong with zalukas now that he is match fit problem before titmarch would not give him game time

Agree2 Disagree0

24 May 2015 07:56:48
Can't believe I'm saying this again!
Here goes - I'm not saying Foster is the answer or he should get a contract. I'm saying in my humble opinion he has done well since he returned from injury and doesn't deserve the vitriolic vilification he has received from some quarters on this site. Now I'm not going to say another word about Foster from now on. Unbelievable!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2015 10:05:04
Show me this vitriolic vilification he has received? You are taking utter nonsense and are very easily pleased. Honestly your probably one of those people who was a fan of Ally and had a go at me when I said he had to go. People like you seem to think the season started with the play offs and forget about the terrible displays that went on before that

Agree0 Disagree1

24 May 2015 11:41:08
Words like pish, shite and mince spring to mind quite easily. As for Ally - a tic supporting friend called it spot on when he reckoned he wasn't the man to take us from that position in the bottom tier. Of course he was saying this from a different perspective. I thought Ally deserved his chance after the way he stuck by us during the dark days, especially after his promising apprenticeship under Walter. However, it became apparent early on that he did not have what it takes, but the winning of the leagues each year papered over the cracks. And of course the club could not afford to get rid of him so it became a catch 22 situation. So about half way through that first season I knew Ally had run his race.
Re this season - as I've already said what is the point in looking back? Ffs we are within touching distance of the top flight. Let's get there, have a clear out and see where we are come Start of the season

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2015 14:00:44

23 May 2015 14:14:27

Agree5 Disagree0

23 May 2015 14:58:11
Allan was by far the best player on the park. I lost count of the number of times he went by Foster as if he wasn't there. Not sure what contract he has but he would be a great signing. Special well done for Ally for passing up signing him and re-singing Hutton instead. Sums you up Ally

Agree7 Disagree4

23 May 2015 15:21:04
Have to agree I really like allan. Would be a good signing for us best player in championship. Some people seem to think he turned us down as far as I know that's not true

Agree6 Disagree0

23 May 2015 15:42:42
Wasn't given the chance to turn the club down. Ally in his wisdom chose not to pursue him when he was desperate to sign. Another master stroke by the inept one

Agree4 Disagree0

23 May 2015 20:18:06
I think you'll see Allan at Ibrox next season. He was by far the best player in the division. He's a big Gers fan so always helps

Agree1 Disagree0

23 May 2015 20:52:53
Noddy

Would be great to see him at Ibrox next season he is exactly the type of player needed in the team however they will want around £750k - £1m for him and I don't think we will have that kind of money to spend. Close season all about totally rebuilding side and bringing younger players.

Agree2 Disagree1

24 May 2015 09:57:42
He has a year left on his contract, he might be worth 750k-1mil but with the small issue of only having a year left they might want to cash in sooner rather than later

Agree6 Disagree1

He has shown what can be done when you play a central defender in the centre of the defence.

Moshni can be a nightmare but I think Moshni amnd McCulloch can combine to make one defender to partner up with Zaliukas, though truth be told I would have McGregor all day ahead of those two clowns even if it meant 10 men.

Why should mccoist do rangers a favour and wave his right to compensation. Crap we are a club in plight yes however we talk about investment going forward before anything let's pay our dues and move on. Not a huge mccoist fan as manger but come on. If we start this rubbish u face being as two faced as the other lot stand high pay our way and move forward.

This guy got more Gray by the minute okay some self inflicted some not. Pay up and move on. Come on king get this right or every other potential player manger will look at us on the same basis as a payday lender.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

23 May 2015 09:15:06
This is not a normal situation. McCoist took millions out of Rangers as a player and then a useless manager. Surely he has millions in the bank. Why shouldn't we expect that he makes a gesture and walks away without claiming further money. Greed, pure and simple. You can hardly compare this with an ordinary working man seeking his compensation.

Agree3 Disagree1

23 May 2015 10:12:50
doiger he has a contract and has the right to the money if he does not wish to take less money there is not much anyone can do although it is annoying due to the fact he put his ego before the club and was possibly the worst rangers manager ever but as they say that's the way the coookie crumbles at least with every month that passes its one less

Agree5 Disagree0

23 May 2015 10:40:41
yes he is entitled to the money and is perfectly within his rights to take it. However what sticks in a lot of Gers fans throats is that he lied to the support about not reading his contract and he was an awful manager. It will probably take us £20-£30m to challenge that lot again and had McCoist done his job properly it would have been a lot less. It could take half a dozen years at least to get back to our former level and that is down to his total incompetence as much as anything
