Does anyone know where in Portugal rangers are training?

24 Jun 2019 14:16:12
the algarve.

23 Jun 2019 21:23:22
Even though Morelos may stay we still need another striker. Zak Rudden has got an extension to his contract. is he the solution or do we need to look elsewhere? But who is available and what price?

24 Jun 2019 16:10:26
Rudden isn't even in the pre season training squad so I guess the management don't think he's ready to step up yet. I think another loan deal beckons.

24 Jun 2019 18:01:11
McPake however.

24 Jun 2019 19:55:40
McPake's a winger.

26 Jun 2019 02:47:04
a striker is a definite need that rangers must resolve before kicking off this season. if they lose Alfredo then i can see them struggling to get anyone who can score his goal tally for them.

23 Jun 2019 20:55:51
Are we playing any games during our pre season trip to Portugal?

24 Jun 2019 14:08:30
Just watched aftv and there saying theyve got an interest in Aribo might not be done and dusted as we hope.

23 Jun 2019 19:40:37
Betting for next season. Just over 2/ 1 for title. 5/ 1 to win first cup of the season the Betfred Cup. that has to be value?

23 Jun 2019 22:24:50
I wouldn't say that's great value, no.

Last year we were 9-1 for the league. That was good value.

24 Jun 2019 09:56:35
Not really good value though is it Patmo. That's like saying Fulham where good value last year to win the premiership at 2000/ 1. We are in a much better position this year and there is nothing to split us from them so in a two horse race, 2/ 1 not bad.

24 Jun 2019 12:55:26
No bets on the old firm are good value.

23 Jun 2019 16:26:54
Prob going to get shot down for saying this. I know Rangers cant afford to buy Kent as Liverpool are looking for 12M or so. But why dont we pay an ex amount upfront like 3/ 4M then pay the rest up over the next few seasons. Its not as if Liverpool will need the money if they wanted to they could agree to that easily and help Stevie G out after everything he has done for them over the years. Just a thought prob a ridiculous one but I have seen worse on here haha.

{Ed001's Note - that is how transfer fees are paid anyway.}

23 Jun 2019 16:43:52
Perhaps that what they are doing at the moment.

23 Jun 2019 16:59:37
Where do rangers, get 3/ 4 mill from
This is a club with over 20mill of debts.

23 Jun 2019 17:29:51
No its not Macbow. Try obtaining the correct info, on the club you support!

23 Jun 2019 17:32:27
Ha ha get Kent on direct debit 0% interest lol.

23 Jun 2019 17:34:44
Macbow our club will have no debt the loans will been turned into shares at 20p a share you want to buy some.

23 Jun 2019 21:45:10
Macbow, the club is not over 20 million in debt. I believe this money has now been transferred into shares for the relevant lenders.

24 Jun 2019 07:33:45
RFCbear11. Kent aint worth 12 million, 4 Million maximum.

24 Jun 2019 11:00:54
Totally disagree cunny. If Kent was a rangers player we would be looking for between 10 and 15 million for him as he was one of our best players last season. We are valuing Tav at between 10 n 15 million. So 12 million sounds about right in my book. It's just the crazy price world we live in now, God the sheep are valuing a cart horse at 10 mill.

24 Jun 2019 11:59:14
Stewartyyblue. Thats not only my opinion, Other guys on this form also state this, Everybody is entitled to an opinion, I do agree that Money has wasted the working mans game, What value would you put on Scott Airfield, As he had a better season than Kent, I do hope that Mckenna goes to them, As he is totally Dung,

24 Jun 2019 16:09:14
Yeah cunny arfield was better but doesn't have age on his side over 30. Think I heard somewhere, if an offer was made Rangers would be looking at between 5 and 7 mill for him.

24 Jun 2019 18:57:31
12m is english price, he isn't worth that in scotland.

24 Jun 2019 21:29:57
Oh dear a player is worth whatever price his club places on him regardless of country.

23 Jun 2019 14:04:01
Anyone know what Dorrans is on and when his contract is up? Curious what a pay off would cost us.

It he went out on loan for few months to the likes of Hearts or even Dolly, he would strengthen them but wouldn't be able to play against us. (although we would likely have to pick up majority of his wage still)

Feel bad for the guy, want him to do well for us but it isn't going to happen.

23 Jun 2019 16:30:30
Hes good player no doubt but it's just not worked out due to his injury problems and he's been replaced now and has to move on. Can see us having to loan him out and pay some of his wages rather than him moving on to a new club.

23 Jun 2019 17:31:53
Sure dorrans on 15-20k a Week. 16k for some reason stickin in my mind.

23 Jun 2019 18:00:30
16k seems to ring a bell with me as well.

23 Jun 2019 19:16:40
Im sick of rangers paying players off! We could get at least 500k for him. Remember when ayers are paid off its our hard earned money that's used!

23 Jun 2019 20:16:42
Dorrans is sadly paying the price for wanting to do well for his boyhood club, played through the pain barrier when we were struggling but never made a big song and dance about it. Hence he was knackered when Gerrard came in. If he had taken a leaf out of Barasic and Grezdas book and called off injured every time he had a scraped knee he might have been fit for us last season. I for one will be very sad to see him go, as he has quality and clearly cares about the club.

23 Jun 2019 21:41:54
I think Dorrans is still capable of playing at a highish level. can't see him playing in Scotland, maybe the English championship.

23 Jun 2019 21:48:26
If it is as much as that and there are no willing buyers for him then I would definitely be in favour of a loan within our top flight. Ripping up his contract by mutual agreement or loaning to an English league 1 side/ championship side has no benefit to us.

He would be a stand out for most teams in our league.

23 Jun 2019 21:49:49
Not sure anyone wants players paid off Jason Brown; to get 500k for him though someone has to be willing to pay it and the player is under no obligation to go even if someone does pay it.

That's why players get paid off, they have contracts that entitles them to that money. Not saying Dorrans is happy to sit and take a wage but on the other hand why should he take a wage cut to go elsewhere when he can get paid off then go elsewhere and get it paid anyway- no brainer for the players, especially when wrong side of 30.

23 Jun 2019 21:50:15
swagman, he must have been injured the entire time he has been here then as he has been absolutely terrible, cant remember a worse midfielder at Ibrox!

Youre right though if he was playing through an injury he would have been better off sitting it out as he was worse than a man down in most games!

24 Jun 2019 01:31:15
Zikos, I think your getting Dorrans confused with Ian Black or Emerson. He was one of our better players when he did play, in a team that was rank rotten. He was one of the only players that could make something happen with little space. For example his goal against Partick, and splitting Villareals defence open.

24 Jun 2019 11:06:28
We can only hope that Stevie G is bringing in younger, better players with a sell on value. There is no way we are bringing Aribo up here, 20k a week to sit on the bench. I suspect that getting Dorran's off the books will mean we are only 4k a week extra out of pocket for a young player that could have a substantial sell on value.

24 Jun 2019 19:05:47
Blue89, I didnt forget about the goal he scored against the mighty Partick Thistle! And for the record he could lace Emersons boots, couldnt even lace namouchis boots!

Never seen a Rangers player give the ball away as much as Dorrans and then make no effort to win it back!

I genuinely thought he would have been a cracking player for us, turns out I was wrong.

23 Jun 2019 14:13:56
Just read an article about aribo and the reaction of the charlton fans on his move to us. The arrogance of fans down south is unbelievable. Most of them are saying that its not a progressive move for aribo coming to scotland, the usual comments about the standard of our league etc. From epl fans I could accept but from fans in any league below the epl I just can't accept. A lot of players that can't handle it at us go on to do well at mediocre teams down south, what does that say about their standard when our rejects do well for them. They just can't accept that we are bigger and better and their best players will cast them aside when we come calling. Its jealousy. Not one team in england outwith the top 6 epl sides could lay a glove on us in terms of history and club size and if it wasn't for tv money they'd be nowhere. let's be honest, chartlon derby leeds portsmouth or the famous? . Every fan from down there creams themselves when they know we are coming for a friendly game. As I said the majority of these clubs and their arrogant fans are mediocre at best. ?.

23 Jun 2019 14:19:18
Coldo the championship in England is by far a better league than ours and apart from us and them league 1 is better than our league.

23 Jun 2019 14:44:21
Competitive wise yes Gannet, but quality and standard wise compared to us and celtic? I'm not sure. Waghorn windass garner etc couldn't meet our standards but have found their feet in that league. Many players from them leagues have come up here to us and failed spectacularly, particularly over the last 3 years. Mckay hopeless in spl but decent in the championship.

23 Jun 2019 14:52:44
Coldo 100% correct. I get a bit angry when reading the usual nonsense from down south. I put it down to ignorance and arrogance. This is reflected in SOME English players (eg. Worral) coming to us all a bit yes what ever its just Rangers and the old firm, I've played in big matches at Forest (LOL) what's all the hype about kind of talk, then 2 months in they realise they are in one of the biggest clubs in the world and their attitude changes pretty quickly. When Windass and Worral are in their 70s will they be saying to the Grandkids look this is what Grandad used to do and watch clips of Wigan v Huddersfield and Forest v Barnsley or will he say do you know Grandad used to play for the famous Glasgow Rangers, what! Aye boys, here, this is what 50000 fans sound like when you pump Celtic.

23 Jun 2019 15:36:18
Very true TJBB, although windass can't say that because he never pumped celtic the useless t?@t that he is.

23 Jun 2019 15:39:42
Funny about worrall tho, down in his league he was worth 11mil but up here our league made him look like an 11k player. Better quality my @rse. Another one that couldn't handle it at the famous or in scotland.

23 Jun 2019 16:25:29
The Championship is a far superior league to ours in terms of money. It is the sixth richest league on the planet. They can buy 10 million players down there without breaking sweat. Rangers and Celtic are the only two clubs in the SPFL who have and can buy players. Name me the last time outside of the old firm that a club in the SPFL bought a player. It is made up of loans and free transfers.

The English teams have tradition just like up here. The fact that they don't win much does not mean the tradition is not there. A lot of there teams are as old as ours. Speak to any one of their fans from any club and they will tell you so.

We are now competing with the Portsmouth's and Oldham's of this world. Long gone are the days when we could buy the best.

23 Jun 2019 18:30:08
worral cost us the league!

23 Jun 2019 18:34:36
Saudi Arabia is one of the richest countries in the world still wouldny want to live there, in a second tier league money is an interesting commodity, what's it for, what you going to win, nothing! its all about promotion get more money and even then win probably nothing. The big clubs have stolen a March on everyone and its very unlikely anybody will ever catch up in terms of finances unless FIFA step in and even the playing field to pardon the pun. Andy Robertson is valued on TM (I know I know) at 54 million, he's a very good player but he's no Roberto Carlos.

23 Jun 2019 18:39:59
Was hoping nobody picked me up on the Windass oversight, putting Aberdeen didny have the same effect LOL, still he will probably play his Celtic goal over and over to his Grandkids and who could blame him, to hear the roar is worth it on its own.

23 Jun 2019 18:57:09
They might have money but does their money in transfer fee's represent quality? No it doesn't. Worrall is not worth 11mil and waghorn is not worth the 7mil. Both were useless in the spl. Just because they are as old as us means nothing. They will never be as big as us, that's why their players would rather sign for us than the likes of charlton etc. Even kent would rather come to us than go to villa. As I said, their leagues might be richer and more competitive but the quality of these leagues does not reflect the money that's there. Their clubs are mediocre in stature compared to the famous.

23 Jun 2019 20:19:31
The Old Firm, with current squads, would have no issues competing in the Championship. And as soon as we had the TV money players would be crawling over each other to come to us.

23 Jun 2019 21:44:09
Regarding Aribo signing for us. I've never heard of this guy but going by reports there were a host of teams looking for his signature. Championship, Premiership, Celtic and some foreign teams. This guy must be a player and i'm excited to see him play. Credit to Gerrard and his team for bringing him to Rangers.

P.S. i'm not going to check hm out on YouTube!

24 Jun 2019 12:20:45
Coldo, that's utter garbage. Down here there not dissing his move to gers as retro step. They know Charlton and Euro football far apart. Rangers every season. He'll play in front of nearly 50k at Ibrox every second week. Posh 20k at best.
Training facilities etc. I could go on. There English, yeah, but there realists, not fantasist.

24 Jun 2019 12:27:27
Yes they are miller. Have you read their twitter comments? I suggest you go and read them before coming on here and talking nonsense.

24 Jun 2019 12:49:05
Coldo, these just twitter. I speak to Addicks fans one to one every day. They know Robins to Rangers no brainer. Most twitter @@@@ your reading just media outburst. English media trying to show their superiority.

24 Jun 2019 16:00:59
No miller its charlton fans and most of englands mediocre clubs fans.

23 Jun 2019 13:19:09
Holt to QPR according to the record. Do we ask for a nominal fee? Either way, another wage freed up.

23 Jun 2019 14:03:48
Well be extremely lucky if we dont need to pay him off and they do actually sign him.

Holt was a really honest pro who gave his all whenever he played. He was however absolutely honking at football. No surprise whatsoever that warburton rates him.

23 Jun 2019 15:33:12
Hell get a decent wage there. More importantly its more deadwood away and off the bill. A few more to follow but liking the way our squad is shaping up.

23 Jun 2019 16:33:32
I like holt but he's not at the same level as our current midfielders. Surprised that warburton is in for him tbh. Thought league 1 would be more likely for him but I wish his all the best wherever he goes.

23 Jun 2019 12:34:17
Hey guys does anyone know if any of the organised friendlies, will be shown on RTV.

23 Jun 2019 15:12:47
Yes they will be and more than likely the first 2 rounds of Europa league will only be shown on RTV as broadcasters will not pay the kind of money that can be generated through RTV.

23 Jun 2019 11:22:52
I feel sorry for the QPR fans, holt now being linked with them. Tiki taka going nowhere football. I wonder how many weeks where they will have to learn and go again. Will be a long season for them.

23 Jun 2019 11:56:59
True Coldo, good move for Holt mid you but short corners and 146,580 passes in the box with no shot on goal will frustrate the QPR fans.
I wonder how long before Barry McKay and Lewis McLeod are there.

23 Jun 2019 12:40:34
Jason is a grafter and scored 11 goals in 85 appearances, which is a lot more than some of our midfielders. however, I agree his time at Ibrox is up and good luck to him.

23 Jun 2019 12:47:29
Qpr will be the new boro when strachan went there and made a total mess of it.

23 Jun 2019 13:17:22
Only 4 of the 11 goals were in the SPL, Never was of the required standard. Best of luck to him.

23 Jun 2019 09:35:07
Just read there dorrans left behind had his injury problems but honestly is halliday really any better and am sure he's went without his passion for the club is he still a player that will take us forward a don't think so people like holt lafferty are judged but halliday seems to get a free pass at times love the guys passion just my opinion not good enough.

23 Jun 2019 10:17:45
I think it's mainly down to hallidays passion on and off the field plus his ability to play all over the pitch! And his willingness to be a bit part player.

23 Jun 2019 10:39:07
I know what you're saying Sm_2019.
The reason i think andy halliday is wanted by gerrard is he can do a job as a squad player, in quite a few areas of the team. I agree he's not a first pick 11 player. Graham dorrans is the shock here for me, as he's a good attacking midfielder, if he is over all his injury problems. But then again doza and scotty arfield,
are pretty similar midfielders and play in the offensive midfield positions. There's no way that dorrans will get in that position in front of arfield. Scotty Arfield has been a revelation so far at rangers.
He's been a superb player for us. I really rate him very highly and a natural first team pick!

23 Jun 2019 10:42:12
Agreed barrowlad not the greatest player but to be honest under SG he's rarely let us down when asked. Also his passion for all things Rangers must be good to have for the new players coming into the squad.

23 Jun 2019 10:50:17
Also quite important is the fact Andy rarely gets injured. He keeps himself in shape and works hard in training, knowing he's not necessarily going to be a 1st pick, speaks volumes for the man. A few of the current squad could take inspiration from that.

23 Jun 2019 11:10:45
Hes just had his best season in his career. he's versatile 100% commited and works his socks off everttime he's on the pitch plus he's Rangers to the core. Andy is Stevies James Milner and he looks to be developing under Gerrard, he's a no brainer squad player in my opinion.

23 Jun 2019 11:13:34
Halliday never put a foot wrong when called upon, solid squad player. If other players had half his attitude they probably wouldn't be on their way out this summer.

23 Jun 2019 11:36:05
Andy halliday is Andy halliday nothing special but he's more consistent under Gerrard so give the guy his dues LB he's actually half decent.

23 Jun 2019 12:01:50
I'd have Halliday in the squad all day long, if only for his passion, never-say-die attitude and influence. I wish there were more like him. I know he is nudging 30 so maybe SG could look at giving him some sort of coaching role? He'd be a brilliant influence on the youngsters.

23 Jun 2019 13:15:47
To big an earner for his contribution I think, probably best he moves on but if that cant be done all he has to do is look at Halliday fighting his way back into the squad last season for inspiration. Im sure his deal is up next summer.

23 Jun 2019 14:00:31
Id say the issue is Dorrans wages! Quality wise Halliday wouldnt lace Dorrans boots but hes hardly been fit since he came to rangers and they're probably looking him off the wage bill.

23 Jun 2019 14:21:27
Sm I agree dorrans by far a better player than Halliday cant believe he is still with our club and some fans lap him up just because he is a fan himself.

23 Jun 2019 20:34:52
Exactly can't keep someone for passion a mean most of us on here have passion for rangers don't mean a should get a game no doubt halliday done ok when asked best game by far the old firm but every player did there part that day a would love him to be a better quality but sadly he ain't its a tough one u can't just keep someone for passion and the more a see our signings the less chance a see halliday getting game time this season.

23 Jun 2019 07:18:24
Quite happy with the transfers so far, can't see a lot more players coming in maybe kent and a striker. I think morelos will stay next season. I would send lafferty back to hearts and swap him for their striker "Uche Ikpeazu".

23 Jun 2019 09:30:04
Ikpeazu is rank rotten.

23 Jun 2019 10:01:55
No even lunch time yet and already that's enough internet for today. he's Dug Sh**e. Bed!

23 Jun 2019 10:39:39
Lol Paul, I'd love to see some folks champ man teams. Uche Ikpeazu indeed lol.
